Argentine Court Approves Return of Nazi-Looted Portrait to Jewish Art Dealer’s Heir

0

BUENOS AIRES – An Italian portrait missing for decades after being seized from a prominent Jewish art dealer during World War II is now poised to return to his heir, after an Argentine court on Friday endorsed an agreement in which the daughter of a fugitive Nazi official surrendered her claim to the artwork instead of going to trial.

The court-approved deal clears a major hurdle in the restitution of “Portrait of a Lady” to Marei von Saher, the only surviving heir of Dutch-Jewish art dealer Jacques Goudstikker. His renowned art collection was forcibly sold to Nazi figures after Adolf Hitler’s forces invaded the Netherlands in 1940.

Patricia Kadgien, whose father was the late senior Nazi official Friedrich Kadgien, and her husband, Juan Carlos Cortegoso, were charged last year with aggravated cover-up. Prosecutors alleged the couple concealed the 18th-century painting even though they knew Argentine and international investigators were searching for it.

According to a copy of the agreement obtained by The Associated Press, Kadgien and Cortegoso agreed to relinquish any ownership claim and allow the painting to be returned to von Saher. In exchange, they will avoid a criminal trial and remain under court supervision for two years. As part of the arrangement, they must make payments to a hospital in Mar del Plata, the Argentine coastal city where they live, and notify authorities of their movements.

The resolution brings to a close a decades-spanning hunt for the lost Nazi-looted artwork and a legal battle that began in August 2025. The case took a dramatic turn when Dutch journalists researching Friedrich Kadgien, a Nazi financial official who escaped to Argentina after the war, noticed “Portrait of a Lady” displayed above a green velvet sofa in an online real estate listing for his daughter’s rural-style home in Mar del Plata.

The listing disappeared within hours of the Rotterdam-based newspaper Algemeen Dagblad publishing its findings. Police raided the home several times but failed to find the painting. More than a week later, Kadgien’s lawyer turned it over to authorities.

For decades, the portrait had been identified as a work by the Italian Baroque painter Giuseppe Vittore Ghislandi. It appeared under that attribution in Goudstikker’s collection records and was exhibited as a Ghislandi in Amsterdam before the war. But a court-ordered examination by Argentina’s National Academy of Fine Arts reached a different conclusion, attributing the work to the Italian artist Giacomo Antonio Melchiorre Ceruti.

Experts authenticated the painting as part of Goudstikker’s collection and estimated its value at about 250,000 euros ($290,000).

Goudstikker was one of Europe’s leading art dealers before World War II, known for a collection that included works by Rembrandt and Vermeer. He died in a shipwreck while fleeing Amsterdam with his family as German forces swept into the Netherlands in May 1940.

An estimated 1,100 works from his collection were illegally sold to Hermann Göring, known as Hitler’s right-hand man, who amassed a vast art collection during the war. It remains unclear exactly how “Portrait of a Lady” came into the possession of Kadgien, Göring’s financial adviser, who handled foreign currency, precious metals and the sale of confiscated property for the Nazi regime.

Kadgien fled Europe after Germany’s defeat, first for Switzerland and later Argentina. He died in the South American country in 1978 without having been arrested or charged with war crimes.

Lawyers for von Saher, who now lives in Greenwich, Connecticut, and spent decades trying to recover her family’s looted art, said she has agreed to let the painting be exhibited in Argentina before being returned to her.

During last year’s raids on homes owned by Kadgien and her sister in Mar del Plata, Argentine police also seized two 19th-century paintings, along with other prints and engravings. Authorities are still investigating whether any of them may also have been looted during World War II.

Man Sentenced for Shooting Fiancée’s Father in the Face After He Tried to Protect Daughter

A South Carolina man has been sentenced to decades in prison for fatally shooting a father who stepped in to protect his daughter during what prosecutors described as an active domestic violence incident.

Joshua Scott-Lee Butler, 29, was found guilty earlier this week by a Berkeley County jury of murder in the death of 53-year-old Earl Goodwater. Butler was also convicted of pointing and presenting a firearm at another person and possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime. The jury acquitted him on a separate charge of second-degree domestic violence.

Later in the week, Circuit Court Judge Courtney Clyburn-Pope sentenced Butler to 45 years in prison. He also received two additional five-year sentences for the lesser offenses, though the judge ordered those terms to run concurrently, meaning they will be served at the same time.

The deadly encounter happened on May 13, 2023, outside the Goodwater family home on Westminster Boulevard in Goose Creek’s St. James Estates neighborhood, according to the Ninth Circuit Solicitor’s Office.

During trial, prosecutors showed that Butler and his then-fiancee arrived at her parents’ house around 10 p.m.

Earlier that same night, the couple had gotten into an argument that began at a different family gathering. While they were in the driveway, the argument turned physical. The defendant hit the woman in the face — cutting her mouth and causing it to swell, prosecutors said.

That first act of violence occurred in front of the couple’s daughter, authorities noted.

The woman then entered her parents’ home to retrieve the couple’s 1-year-old child, prosecutors said. While inside the house, she called for help from her father. Goodwater told his daughter to “leave that boy alone” and the two men subsequently got into a physical altercation that quickly spilled out of the house and into the front yard.

Family members tried to pull the men apart but Butler ran to his vehicle and retrieved a 9 mm handgun that he pointed at someone else entirely, according to trial testimony.

“I’m not afraid to die,” the third person said, in an attempt to divert attention away from Goodwater, his daughter and children who had come outside amid the confrontation, prosecutors said.

The defendant then “did a ‘2-3 step’ and jerked past the witness” he was initially aiming the gun at, prosecutors said. Butler then confronted Goodwater directly again, this time near the front porch.

In an ensuing struggle, the younger man put the older man in a headlock while still holding the gun. Then a single shot rang out.

Butler shot Goodwater in the right cheek. Authorities said the wound was both fatal and likely caused instantaneous death.

The defendant fled the scene with his 4-year-old daughter and Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested him after he returned to the scene later that night.

Butler was originally arrested on a charge of involuntary manslaughter but was later indicted on more serious charges.

“Earl Goodwater did what any good father would do: he stepped up to protect his daughter and grandchildren,” Assistant Solicitor Michelle Hart said in a statement. “This was a domino effect caused by the defendant’s decisions. Butler had already assaulted Earl’s daughter. He had already been pulled off of Earl. He chose to go to that car, arm himself, and go back to the house. That choice ended a father’s life in front of his family, and the jury and judge held him accountable for it.”

Boarding School Altar Boy Charged in Homeless Man’s Fatal Stabbing

0

A 19-year-old former altar boy is accused of fatally stabbing a homeless man who had been searching through trash in an upscale California neighborhood, in an attack witnesses described as unfolding like a “horror movie.”

Conoray Lawantara has been charged in the death of Vanik Voskanyan, 40, who was killed last week in an alley behind a Beverly Hills apartment building, according to The California Post.

Residents told the outlet that Voskanyan had been going through garbage bins when Lawantara allegedly became enraged, pursued him, confronted him and stabbed him multiple times.

Police discovered Voskanyan on the ground in severe distress with a serious neck wound. He was rushed to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead a short time later.

“The police were trying to revive this poor man that was lying there with blood, like it was in CSI,” one neighbor told the outlet.

In a graphic video obtained by the California Post, Lawantara can be heard insisting to police that he acted in self-defense as the victim lies on the ground, surrounded by a pool of his own blood.

The teen, his bloodied hands cuffed behind his back, claimed he had also been stabbed and bitten on his finger.

Lawantara was arrested and arraigned in a Los Angeles courtroom Thursday, where he pleaded not guilty to murder. His bail was set at just over $2 million, and he was ordered to surrender his passport.

The proceeding also revealed Lawantara’s unlikely past: The Indonesian national was recently an altar boy at Rhode Island’s posh Portsmouth Abbey, an $80,000-a-year private Catholic boarding school, according to The Post.

The deadly altercation unfolded shortly before midnight on August 30, when Beverly Hills police responded to reports of two men fighting in an alley in the 400 block of North Palm Drive, according to authorities.

Officers discovered Voskanyan bleeding from his neck and rendered aid until paramedics transported him to a hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries. Lawantara was also taken to a hospital for treatment.

‘What’s wrong with a man picking trash?’ Brigette Barbie, a neighbor who witnessed the bloody aftermath in the normally posh community, told The Los Angeles Times.

‘The whole stabbing was not making sense to me,’ she added. ‘Why not just leave, turn around, call the police? Why was the knife so necessary?’

Footage captured moments after the violent encounter showed the frantic teen, handcuffed on the ground, insisting he acted in self-defense as he gave police his side of the story.

‘I didn’t reach for him first, he reached for me, his hand went to my leg. And at that time I produced my CCW (concealed carry weapon), it’s a 3.9 inch knife,’ Lawantara said, according to The Times.

When an officer asked where the weapon was, the teen replied, ‘On the ground right there,’ claiming he had told Voskanyan to let him go, but the man refused and continued the scuffle even after he pulled out his knife.

‘He kept pulling at me,’ he said, according to the clip. In another, he claimed he tried to push the alleged victim off him before resorting to violence.

‘He kept going after me. I tried going away,’ he allegedly added.

A chilling video obtained by The Post captured the moments immediately after the stabbing, showing the homeless man stumbling down the alley and groaning in excruciating pain before collapsing to the ground.

Neighbors, however, told investigators a very different story, claiming the alleged victim was walking away rather than provoking the confrontation.

One anonymous resident said Lawantara, who had moved into the building with his girlfriend just weeks earlier, confronted Voskanyan after spotting him searching through the garbage, according to KTLA.

‘The homeless guy was going through the trash bins, and this guy was bothered by it, following him and saying that he shouldn’t be there and he couldn’t be there,’ they told the outlet.

The resident said the man repeatedly walked away before eventually sitting on a couch in the alley, where the confrontation escalated. Lawantara was also stabbed in the ensuing chaos, they said.

He was charged with one count of murder on Wednesday, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office announced. He was discharged from the hospital later that day and booked at the Beverly Hills Police Department.

On Thursday, Lawantara arrived in court for his arraignment dressed in a blue jumpsuit, with his girlfriend, who was also at the scene the night of the killing, watching from the gallery as he stood before a judge, The Post reported.

His defense attorney, Debra White, doubled down on the self-defense claim, arguing that the alleged victim reached for her client’s neck and elbowed him during the verbal altercation.

She also said the man bit off a chunk of Lawantara’s finger and stabbed him in the stomach during the violent struggle.

But Judge Keith Schwartz immediately pushed back, saying there was ‘no reason for the defendant to have contact’ with the homeless man in the first place, according to the outlet.

‘He didn’t approach, he wasn’t violent. He was minding his own business,’ Schwartz said, adding that the teen still ‘stabbed him repeatedly, like in a horror movie.’

If he posts bond, Lawantara will be required to wear a GPS monitor. Police said the attack appears to have been an isolated incident and that no one else was involved.

Revoking the NEA’s Charter Marks a Step Toward Teachers Union Accountability

0

A prominent Republican senator is pressing Congress to take a fresh look at the National Education Association’s long-standing congressional charter.

Critics of the teachers’ union argue there is little left to debate, contending that the NEA has fallen short of the responsibilities tied to that charter and that lawmakers should move to revoke it without delay.

Sen. Bill Cassidy of Louisiana, chairman of the Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor and Pensions, is urging his colleagues to scrutinize the NEA’s status amid concerns over the union’s associations with several left-leaning nonprofit organizations, including the Zinn Education Project and Rethinking Schools, as well as allegations of serious financial mismanagement.

Opponents say some organizations connected to the NEA promote classroom materials and political messages that excuse violence tied to the Black Panther Party and advance what they describe as radical gender ideology for young students.

“Children are struggling to read and to do basic math. Instead of helping students succeed, teachers’ unions are injecting a dangerous, anti-American agenda into our classrooms,” Cassidy said.

“Parents deserve to send their children to school without worrying that they will be indoctrinated with DEI and taught that Americans have ‘misplaced faith’ in our institutions.”

More From Post Editorial Board

A charter revocation wouldn’t stop the NEA from operating, but it would deliver a severe reputational blow to the group.

It’s one that’s long overdue —- and not only because the union has focused on hard-left politics instead of history, geography, math and science.

In fact, the NEA, along with the American Federation of Teachers, has presided over a decades-long effort to completely wreck any meaningful standards in education in order to shield their millions of members from any accountability.

At the same time, they fought for ever fatter paychecks and pensions, while spending millions in union dues on radical-left political causes.

After the 2020 George Floyd riots, both the NEA and the AFT ratcheted up their leftist activism and fought to turn America’s classrooms into BLM-indoctrination factories.

Never mind reading and math, kids were taught that America is evil, brainwashed with antisemitic tropes about Israel and shown pornography as part of their sex and “gender” education; some educators even sought to socially transition kids without parental knowledge or consent.

The results are tragic: An increasingly illiterate and innumerate nation, with the damage concentrated among the most vulnerable kids.

In New York, almost 30% of fourth-graders score below basic on the National Assessment of Educational Progress’ mathematics test, while 41% are below on reading — about where the depressing national numbers are.

The NEA’s charter, dating from 1906, requires union to “elevate the character and advance the interests of the profession of teaching; and to promote the cause of education in the United States.”

For decades, all evidence shows the unions have done precisely the opposite.

Though the AFT has no congressional charter, in July, the House Committee on Education and the Workforce began probing allegations that its boss, Randi Weingarten, spent the union’s dues on to write and promote a controversial, lefty-slanted book.

Now Congress must now take on the NEA as well — at the very least, revoking its charter, a small first step toward making sure our kids are actually learning in school.

Maria Bartiromo Sidelined at Fox News Ahead of Exit, Report Says

Maria Bartiromo’s final weeks at Fox Business were marked by a deep freeze inside the network, with staffers reportedly instructed not to communicate with the veteran anchor before her sudden departure.

Bartiromo, 58, a longtime face of the Fox Business lineup, was abruptly removed on Thursday after the company released a terse statement saying it had “parted ways” with her.

Status News reported that the breaking point involved allegations that Bartiromo told President Trump about internal Fox guidance directing senior employees to avoid validating his false claims that the 2020 presidential election had been stolen.

However, sources told Mediaite the alleged leak was “not the only reason” behind her exit. Within Fox, they said, the move did not come as a shock, as members of Bartiromo’s team had been “freaking out” for weeks over the uncertain future of her programs.

Network insiders told the outlet that Bartiromo’s relationship with Fox executives had deteriorated because of a “confluence of factors,” including repeated editorial clashes over the direction and tone of her shows.

This reportedly included her role in Fox’s $787 million settlement to Dominion Voting Systems in 2023 over its peddling of Trump’s election claims, and several botched interviews on the air this year.

As Bartiromo’s relationship with Fox bosses reportedly fell apart, sources said her staff were barred from even speaking with her, while she laid low in the Hamptons and was ‘nowhere to be found.’

Bartiromo was reportedly so un-reachable that it was ‘like she was undercover’, with her future in limbo for weeks before she exited this week.

Ousted Fox Business anchor Maria Bartiromo was completely iced out at the network as her staff were barred from talking to her in the weeks before her departure, reports say.

Bartiromo Had Been Clashing With Fox for Months

Sources said that while Bartiromo’s alleged leak to Trump may have been the final straw, she had been clashing with executives for some time.

Alongside her role in peddling Trump’s 2020 election fraud claims that led to the huge settlement with Dominion, another similar lawsuit from Smartmatic that is ‘still hanging out there’ had also been hurting her status at the network.

Amid the breakdown of Bartiromo’s relationship with Fox executives, her staff were then ordered not to even attempt to speak with her.

‘In order to talk to her, you had to go to management,’ the source said, adding that her staff had known for weeks that ‘something was up.’

‘People were freaking out,’ the source said.

As Bartiromo was booted from the network, her longtime producer Patrick Ignozzi was also ousted.

Trump Rallies Behind Bartiromo After Fox Ousting

As Bartiromo was booted from the network, her longtime producer Patrick Ignozzi was also ousted, Puck News reported.

Amid reports that she leaked classified internal information to the Trump administration, the president quickly defended her on Thursday in a Truth Social post.

‘I can’t believe Maria Bartiromo is no longer going to have her great shows on Fox News/ Business,’ Trump wrote.

‘Three different shows, always number one. Maria is a total professional, and a true warrior.

‘Her fans, of which there are many, will not be happy. God bless you, Maria!’

Bartiromo has since reportedly hired attorney Bryan Freedman to guide her through her termination, after the high-powered lawyer previously represented other major ousted news personalities including Tucker Carlson and Don Lemon.

She was quickly removed from Fox News’ website, with her bio page and show content erased from online.

Her shows, Mornings With Maria and Sunday Morning Futures, are now set to be hosted by a rotating cast of anchors and Fox personalities in the coming weeks.

Illinois Mom Charged With Murder in Toddler’s Death, Echoing Lindsay Clancy Case

An Illinois mother is facing three murder charges in connection with the death of her 2-year-old son, in a case officials say has already sparked comparisons to the high-profile Lindsay Clancy trial.

Corie A. Walsh, 40, remained under medical care Friday after officers found her Tuesday at her home with injuries believed to be self-inflicted, though not life-threatening, according to a statement from the Frankfort Police Department.

Frankfort is located roughly 36 miles southwest of Chicago.

Once she’s released from treatment, she will be transferred to the Will County Adult Detention Facility to await a hearing.

Frankfort police officers responded to Walsh’s home Tuesday afternoon and found her son unresponsive. He was given CPR and taken to a hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with the family, their loved ones, and everyone affected by this heartbreaking tragedy,” Frankfort police said in a statement shared with News Media. “We ask our community to keep them in their thoughts and prayers and to respect their privacy as they navigate this profoundly difficult time.”

The boy was strangled, according to FOX 32.

Carolyn Pappas, who lives nearby, told NBC Chicago earlier this week that the boy’s death has left residents stunned. She told the station that the circumstances brought to mind the case of Clancy, a Massachusetts mother who admitted to killing her three children before attempting to take her own life.

“This is just absolutely devastating, that this could be another Lindsay Clancy situation in our neighborhood, in our community. You never think it’s going to hit so close to home,” she told the station. “And so yeah, that absolutely makes us think of that. And again, just more people I think are struggling than we realize and so we just need to be there for one another.”

Lindsay Clancy Prosecutor Rips Protesters After Trial Collapse

0

Plymouth County District Attorney Tim Cruz faced heckling outside court after the Lindsay Clancy case ended in a mistrial.

Cruz spoke to reporters shortly after Judge William Sullivan declared the mistrial at the courthouse in Plymouth, Massachusetts.

While he was addressing the media, a woman standing behind him called out: “You only cared when the kids were dead — why didn’t you care about the mother?”

Cruz maintained a composed expression as others nearby appeared to support the woman’s remarks, responding with chants of: “Amen.”

As reporters continued asking questions, the woman kept interrupting, prompting Cruz at one point to ask a journalist to repeat what they had said.

She was also seen shaking her head as he spoke and kept on shouting over him before walking away. Others shouted that he was corrupt. Another woman stood behind Cruz was seen shaking her head every time he spoke.

When questioned over whether his prosecutor’s case was insensitive, he responded that killing three children was insensitive.

‘Insensitive is ignoring those facts, we have an obligation to stand up for those people and seek justice’, he added.

As he was talking, a woman standing behind him, seen here in pink over his right shoulder, said: ‘You only cared when the kids were dead – why didn’t you care about the mother?’

Cruz maintained Clancy’s killing of her children was cold-blooded murder, but that he refused to be drawn on whether he would push for a retrial and said the decision was yet to be made.

Prosecutors may also ask for the verdict to be decided by a judge, rather than a jury trial.

The jury panel of nine women and three men spent over 37 hours deliberating the case after five weeks of evidence.

They sent four notes to the judge this week saying they had been unable to reach a verdict.

Yesterday it emerged that 11 of the 12 jurors had come to the same verdict, but that a twelfth holdout was refusing to follow them.

The final note sent by jurors on Friday morning read: ‘It is with a heavy heart that we are unable to come to a unanimous decision and will not be able to.’

Clancy – who killed her three young children in January 2023 – now faces a grueling retrial.

She strangled her children with exercise bands and then allegedly attempted to kill herself, but her efforts failed and left her paralyzed and in a wheelchair for life.

The law requires the jury to come to a unanimous decision, and if they are unable to, the judge is forced to declare a mistrial.

A mistrial means the prosecution will have the opportunity to try Clancy again. The trial will have to start over from jury selection.

A second trial would not violate Clancy’s Fifth Amendment right against double jeopardy, which protects citizens from being punished for the same crime twice.

The Constitution of the United States prevents the government from trying a person again for the same crime after they have already been found innocent or guilty.

But because Clancy’s first trial has resulted in a deadlock, the prosecution is allowed to charge her a second time.

It is unclear whether the prosecution will move forward with a second trial.

Clancy is likely going to be kept institutionalized in the interim while a decision is made.

First Responders Honor 9/11 World Trade Center Beam at Boston Fallen Heroes Memorial

The Tunnel to Towers Steel Across America tour made a solemn stop in Boston on Wednesday, paying tribute to fallen heroes during a cross-country journey expected to conclude in New York City shortly after the Sept. 11 anniversary.

At the Massachusetts Fallen Heroes Memorial in Boston’s Seaport, organizers displayed a preserved 21-foot steel beam from the World Trade Center’s South Tower, a powerful 9/11 artifact that has been traveling across the country since May.

“For first responders and veterans, especially as we approach the 25th anniversary, this is deeply personal,” said Dan Magoon, executive director of Massachusetts Fallen Heroes. “It’s about teaching the next generation and making sure we never forget the sacrifices made on 9/11, as well as everything endured over the two decades that followed in combat zones around the world.”

Mike Eruzione, the captain of the 1980 U.S. Olympic hockey team remembered for the legendary “Miracle on Ice” victory over the Soviet Union, also took part in the tribute, remembering friends who were aboard one of the planes hijacked during the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks.

“It touched the heart of our country. It touched the souls of our country,” Eruzione said of Tunnel to Towers, which helps 9/11 families, first responders, and veterans rebuild in part from funds raised through nationwide charity runs.

The gathering brought together first responders from Massachusetts as well as law enforcement. Guests were allowed to approach the 16,900-pound beam and pay their respects.

“It’s just crazy to think about where it once stood, the people that worked inside the buildings, the people that rushed inside to save those people, and what happened when it all came down,” said Daniel McCarthy, a Bostonian whose parents are from New York.

Daily Mail Exposes Alleged Scheme Targeting Trump’s Republican Convention

Search Google for next week’s Republican midterm convention, and one result appears right at the top: gopdallas2026.com.

But the site is not what it seems.

“I don’t know who runs this site,” RNC National Press Secretary Natalie Baldassarre said, urging Republican supporters to use the committee’s official convention website, gopconvention.com, instead.

As Republicans prepare to descend on Texas next week and sharpen their midterm election message, party officials are now dealing with an unexpected digital headache: an apparently fake convention website tied to a creative agency connected to a former Barack Obama operative.

A Republican opposition research firm, which shared its digital forensics findings with the Daily Mail on the condition of anonymity, claims the website has links to the creative agency TaskForce.

TaskForce’s website says it was founded in 2010 following the Obama HOPE campaign and lists clients including Rock the Vote, Amnesty International, the United Nations Foundation, the Nature Conservancy, the MacArthur Foundation and the Obama White House.

Though the firm describes itself as independent, its founder, Yosi Sergant, is a progressive cultural strategist who commissioned the infamous ‘Hope’ poster that propelled Obama’s 2008 presidential campaign.

He also later served in the Obama administration as communications director at the National Endowment for the Arts and in the White House Office of Public Engagement.

A digital-forensics finding by a Republican opposition research firm found that TaskForce, the progressive strategy and creative agency owned by Yosi Sergant, was linked to the website gopdallas2026.com

After a Daily Mail reporter reached out to Sergant on Thursday, around 8 pm EST, the gopdallas2026.com site suddenly linked to the Department of Justice’s website of the Epstein files.

Sergant has not responded to repeated requests for comment from the Daily Mail.

A Republican investigator involved in analysis of the site for said the website was ‘very clearly’ constructed by someone at Taskforce.

‘I think the motive … was to somehow undermine the convention effort, confuse attendees or observers, or perhaps seed disinformation regarding the event,’ the investigator told the Daily Mail.

The firm is also tied to other anti-Republican sites, including BannonIsRight.com and Uglyf***.org, which is a platform to attack White House aide Stephen Miller, according to the investigator.

Source code for several pages on the uglyf***.org website says they were created by Simon Isaacs, a close friend of Sergant and the chief executive officer of TaskForce.

Isaacs has not responded to repeated requests for comment.

Sergant has promoted Uglyf***.org – which solicits roast material on Miller – on his Bluesky account.

Gopdallas2026.com was registered on July 7. Uglyf***.org was registered hours earlier the same day, according to the opposition research firm.

The site was built to resemble an official online hub for the RNC’s first midterm convention, which opens on September 9.

The site meant to dupe presented a list of speakers, including Georgia Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene, who had no idea she was on it.

‘What kind of speech would I even give? I mean, imagine being a Republican campaign right now. What do you campaign on?,’ she protested after noticing her name.

She wasn’t the only one confused. Several others named on the list confirmed to the Daily Mail they are not attending the convention.

The RNC’s actual site lists only a two-day schedule and has named no speakers at all.

And the only way for attendees to attend the convention is by entering a lottery system; no VIP packages are offered, like they are presented on the decoy site.

The fake site carried purported information for delegates, VIPs, media and vendors, promoted a list of potential speakers and highlighted the Dallas host committee, while inviting visitors to enter their first and last names, phone numbers and email addresses to receive ‘exclusive convention updates.’

It went as far as an ‘Honorary Delegate’ application and a VIP tier called the ‘White Glove Experience,’ promising luxury hotels and transportation, exclusive events, dining reservations, personalized itineraries and dedicated concierge support across both days of the convention. The ‘request a VIP package’ and ‘get started’ buttons have since been disabled.

At the foot of the page, in small type below the fold, sits a single line stating the site is independent and not affiliated with the RNC or the official convention.

Everything above it is presented without qualification.

TaskForce has a long history of involvement in Democratic convention politics.

It worked on Truth to Power, a pop-up exhibition staged during the 2016 Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia and produced Into Action 2024 in Chicago during the Democratic National Convention.
