Renee Zellweger and Ant Anstead’s Marriage Plans: What He Reveals

Ant Anstead has given fans a rare peek into his romance with Renée Zellweger, celebrating their anniversary with a heartfelt tribute.

Renée Zellweger, the esteemed Oscar-winning actress, hasn’t mapped out any wedding bells in her near future.

Even after five years of being together, her beau Ant Anstead emphasizes there’s no hurry to exchange vows, despite affectionately referring to her as “the missus.”

In a candid conversation with The Telegraph, Anstead, who previously spent over a decade with Louise Storey and later married Christina Haack from 2018 to 2021, shared, “I still believe in marriage, but for now, we’re really happy. We don’t need the pressure of a label.”

The couple, known for their privacy, relishes their serene life, balancing time between the picturesque landscapes of Orange County, California, and the tranquil English countryside in Hertfordshire. There, Anstead is engaged in building a home for his parents and enjoys restoring classic cars.

“She’s a very real person. She’s absolutely brilliant, the most grounded, humble person,” the 47-year-old raved. “If there’s a car job to be done at home, I say, ‘We’re doing this together. Put your overalls on, let’s go.’”

Florida Executes Two Inmates After Supreme Court Denies Stays

0

In a rare and somber moment in Florida’s history, two convicted murderers faced execution Tuesday following the rejection of their final appeals by the U.S. Supreme Court. This marked Florida’s first instance of a double execution since 1964.

The nation’s highest court turned down two separate pleas for stays, thereby clearing the path for the scheduled executions.

Among the executed was James Duckett, a 68-year-old former police officer, whose execution had been initially planned for noon. The process was temporarily postponed as the Supreme Court considered the last-minute stay requests.

Ultimately, Duckett met his fate through lethal injection, with the Florida Department of Corrections confirming his time of death at 1:19 p.m.

Duckett was convicted of raping and murdering an 11-year-old girl in 1987.

The Supreme Court also denied a separate stay for Dominick Occhicone, an 80-year-old who was convicted of murdering his ex-girlfriend’s parents in 1986.

The Florida Department of Corrections said Occhicone’s execution, also by lethal injection, was carried out at 6:13 p.m. local time.

Occhicone became the oldest inmate executed in Florida.

Occhicone’s execution marked the first time Florida executed two inmates in one day since 1964. It was just the second double execution in the U.S. this century and the first since Arkansas executed two inmates in 2017.

Florida executed 19 inmates in 2025, according to a News Media review of Florida Department of Corrections data. The 12 people the state has executed so far this year are more than double the next closest state, with Texas having executed four inmates this year, according to the Texas Department of Criminal Justice.

Speaking Tuesday at the Florida Sheriffs Association Summer Conference, Gov. Ron DeSantis said his administration is on pace to carry out more executions than any other in Florida history.

“I think we’ll probably end up having done more than any administration in the history of the state of Florida,” DeSantis said.

The governor stressed he does not view the number as a point of pride.

“I’m not, like, taking pride in that because it’s a weighty thing, but to me, as we move through those and bring justice, that makes a big difference for a lot of people out there who suffered really, really serious tragedies,” he said.

Innovative Strategy to Stabilize Power Costs Amid Data Center Expansion

0

Major data centres across Australia will soon need to turn to renewable energy sources to power their operations as a way to prevent escalating electricity costs, under new regulations approved by every state and territory except two.

The move was announced late Tuesday by the Energy and Climate Change Ministerial Council. After a comprehensive meeting, they unveiled their strategy, shaped by recommendations from the Australian Energy Market Commission.

Environmental groups have hailed this initiative as a positive step towards bolstering renewable energy usage. However, representatives from the data centre sector expressed caution, warning that implementing the policy without their involvement might lead to unintended consequences.

This policy shift comes in the wake of Prime Minister Anthony Albanese’s recent initiative mandating that data centres rely on clean energy projects. This change is part of a broader overhaul of artificial intelligence regulations, following similar advocacy during an inquiry into New South Wales’ data centres.

Energy ministers from the federal, state, and territory governments gathered virtually to deliberate on these energy proposals for data centres, having noted the significance of the issue since May.

All ministers except those from Queensland and the Northern Territory agreed to pursue regulations that would “mandate that data centres offset their electricity demand by investing in additional renewable generation”, the meeting communique said.

Renewable energy would need to be generated near the data centre unless local authorities opted out of the requirement, and the rules would be set at a national level, although states and territories could add additional requirements.

Changes to national rules would be considered in September, including reforms to the way data centres reported energy use.

The Climate Council called the proposed changes encouraging, although chief executive Amanda McKenzie said the rules should give data centre operators strict deadlines.

Governments from all Australian states and territories should also support the changes, she said, to avoid penalising some consumers with rising power bills.

“Unless these hold-out governments get on board, Queenslanders and Territorians will be left paying higher power bills, and we will all pay the price of higher climate pollution,” she said.

But introducing a blanket rule for data centres’ energy use could be ineffective if it was not designed with industry input, Data Centres Australia chief executive Belinda Dennett said.

Each centre operated differently to meet customer demands and use renewable energy, she told attendees at the Australian Clean Energy Summit, and removing options could produce poor results or deter investments.

“A one-size-fits-all approach will not work and may well be counterproductive to renewable energy investment objectives,” Dennett said.

“The risk of removing this flexibility and taking a one-size-fits-all approach to energy procurement and offset arrangements may have consequences for how the data centre sector approaches renewable energy, and it’s why good policy design matters and why industry needs to be at the table.”

Giants’ Harrison Bader Injured in Unexpected Scooter Crash

0

The San Francisco Giants’ season, already teetering on the edge of disaster, took an unexpected turn for the worse with an unusual incident involving Harrison Bader.

Bader had plans to meet with a foot and ankle specialist in Indianapolis on Monday, focusing on the plantar fasciitis that has sidelined him since May 30. Yet, before he could embark on this crucial trip, the seasoned outfielder aggravated his left foot further in an unexpected late-night scooter mishap in San Francisco.

Although the Giants confirmed Bader attended his medical appointment, the circumstances of his recent incident shifted the focus of the evaluation. Post-consultation, he made his way back to San Francisco to consult with team orthopedist, Dr. Ken Akizuki, and was slated for an MRI to assess the full impact of his injuries.

“As you can imagine, he’s in a worse place now than before,” admitted manager Tony Vitello. “This new injury will undoubtedly extend his recovery timeline. But truthfully, we were already facing a pretty daunting and frustrating recovery road ahead.”

This scooter accident is just the latest in a string of peculiar setbacks for a season that seems determined to unravel at every opportunity.

Bader signed a two-year, $20.5 million contract in January but has been limited to 30 games by hamstring and foot problems. He is batting .170 with a .198 on-base percentage and .358 slugging percentage, falling well short of the two-way impact San Francisco expected in center field.

This is also not Bader’s first scooter-related mishap. He was suspended from team activities at the University of Florida following a late-night scooter crash in 2014.

Bader’s setback was only part of a brutal injury update.

Casey Schmitt suffered a torn meniscus while rounding first base Monday and could miss the remainder of what had become his breakout season. Pitcher Trevor McDonald will undergo Tommy John surgery and is likely to miss all of 2027.

Those losses arrive as the Giants sit 16 games below .500 and prepare to sell at the trade deadline. Robbie Ray, Tyler Mahle and Luis Arráez could all be moved, while the team faces the possibility of its first 90-loss season since 2017.

San Francisco has experienced disappointing performances, significant injuries and mounting trade uncertainty. Bader further damaging an already injured foot in a scooter crash feels like the perfect cherry on top.

Kim Kardashian Honors Late Grandmother with Heartfelt Family Celebration

With a solemn expression, Kim Kardashian joined her grieving family in paying tribute to her late grandmother, Mary Jo Campbell, during a heartfelt celebration of life over the weekend.

Mary Jo Campbell, the beloved mother of family matriarch Kris Jenner, passed away on July 16 at the age of 91, leaving behind a cherished legacy.

According to a death certificate obtained by Us Weekly, Campbell succumbed to acute cardiopulmonary arrest following a prolonged fight against metastatic lung cancer.

Just days after her cremation, the Kardashian-Jenner family traveled from Los Angeles to the picturesque La Valencia Hotel in La Jolla, California. There, on Sunday, July 26, they gathered to celebrate Campbell’s remarkable life and enduring legacy.

The gathering was especially poignant, as it coincided with what would have been Campbell’s 92nd birthday, adding a layer of heartfelt remembrance to the day.

Kim was seen making her way around the hotel with her and her ex-husband Kanye West’s youngest son Psalm by her side.

Other notable attendees included Kris’s 28-year-old niece Natalie Zettel, who is the daughter of her late sister Karen Houghton, and reality TV star Kyle Richards, 57.

According to TMZ, Campbell’s celebration of life was held in the bar area of La Valencia Hotel and lasted a total of three hours.

The outlet revealed that a live band performed some of Kris’s late mother’s favorite jazz songs and that floral arrangements decorated the bar in an homage to Campbell’s love of flowers.

It was also said that guests were given ‘Celebration of Life memory books’ as they left the intimate gathering.

The beloved Kardashian family member died from acute cardiopulmonary arrest, per a death certificate obtained by Us Weekly.

Other conditions leading to her death included acute respiratory failure and metastatic lung cancer, which she had lived with ‘for months,’ according to the document.

Campbell died at a Los Angeles hospital on July 16 and was cremated last Thursday. No autopsy was performed after her death.

Campbell became a celebrity in her own right as a frequent guest on her family’s reality show, Keeping Up With The Kardashians.

The show starred her daughter and her grandchildren, Kim Kardashian, Khloe Kardashian, Kourtney Kardashian, Rob Kardashian, Kendall Jenner and Kylie Jenner.

Kris announced the loss earlier this month with a touching tribute on Instagram.

‘Today, we said goodbye to my beautiful Mommy MJ,’ she posted. ‘There are no words that could ever capture what she has meant to me or the heartbreak of having to say goodbye.

‘My mom was the heart of our family. She taught me everything that truly matters… to love your family fiercely, to be kind, to show up for the people you love, and to never take a single moment together for granted.

‘She taught us that family is everything. She showed us how to love unconditionally and how to find joy in the little moments. She showed me how to face life’s challenges with resilience and faith.

‘Mom, thank you for every sacrifice you made, every piece of wisdom you shared, and every moment you loved us so completely. I will miss our daily talks, your smile, your laughter…

‘Our hearts are broken, but we find comfort knowing that love like yours never truly leaves us. Your love will live on in our family, in our traditions, in every moment we are together, and in every life you touched. When I look at my kids and my grandkids, I will forever see pieces of you in all of us.

‘There is not a part of me that isn’t shaped by you. And if I have done anything right in this world, it’s because I spent my life trying to live in a way that would make you proud.

‘Every memory, every moment, every blessing, it was all because of you, and I will forever thank God every single day for making you my mommy. My heart is broken into a million pieces… thank you for giving me the greatest childhood and oh what a beautiful blessed life… I love you forever Mommy. Thank you for giving us everything.’

Campbell’s family shot to worldwide fame with Keeping Up With The Kardashians, which also propelled her into the spotlight.

She was a guest at exclusive parties, was photographed by the paparazzi, competed on Celebrity Family Feud, appeared in a KKW Beauty shoot, and, of course, made multiple cameos on her relatives’ Instagram accounts.

She was one of two witnesses at Kourtney’s wedding to Travis Barker at the Santa Barbara courthouse in 2022, which was documented in the couple’s special, Til Death Do Us Part Kourtney & Travis.

The spotlight was not something Campbell completely shied away from earlier in her life.

Years before the Kardashians became household names, Campbell pursued a career as a model in her early years, according to People.

As an adult, however, she embraced a quieter life hundreds of miles away from glamorous Hollywood.

In 1980, she opened Shannon & Company, a children’s clothing boutique in the San Diego neighborhood of La Jolla – a store she ran for years before it eventually closed.

It was frequented by the Kardashian siblings when they were children and a place where Kris even worked when she was a teenager, according to People.

‘They grew up playing in the store,’ Campbell told The Daily Beast in 2012. ‘I recall Kim sitting on this very floor and counting money. She would sing, “Counting is the game, and money is my name,” or “Money is my name and counting is the game.” Something like that.’

‘[The store] keeps me going. If I didn’t have the store, I would probably spend more time up [in Calabasas with family]. I want to keep my little house as my haven, because then you have some place to run to,’ she said.

It is a life that has not been without upheaval.

Campbell overcame two battles with cancer during her life, surviving both breast and colon cancer.

In 2024, her daughter Karen Houghton died ‘unexpectedly’ – with a death certificate stating she passed from cardiac arrest and sudden cardiac arrhythmia, with Type 2 diabetes listed as a secondary underlying cause.

Campbell was also married three times during her life. A marriage she had with her high school sweetheart ended after just two months.

She then wed Robert Houghton, with whom she had daughters Kris and Karen.

Campbell and Houghton ultimately split when Kris was seven.

She walked down the aisle again with Harry Shannon, a marriage which lasted 40 years until his death in 2003.

It is a love life that bears a striking similarity to her granddaughter Kim, who has also been married three times.

Orange County Organizations Vie for Millions in Tourism Tax Dollars

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – On Tuesday, Orange County played host to spirited pitches as local groups sought slices of the lucrative Tourist Development Tax pie. This annual funding deliberation sets the stage for decisive debates about how to best allocate the millions of dollars that pour in from visitors exploring the county’s popular attractions.

At the heart of this fiscal decision-making lies a dedicated citizens advisory task force. They hold the crucial role of shaping recommendations for county commissioners, outlining how tourism revenue should be strategically invested.

The task force’s latest meeting attracted a bustling crowd eager to witness the funding requests unfold. Six organizations made compelling cases for their share of the Tourist Development Tax funds. These proposals varied significantly, with some requesting as much as $5 million annually, while others suggested creating a revolving $25 million fund to draw high-profile events to the county.

Among the passionate voices was Vicki Landon, who leads Orange County Arts and Cultural Affairs. She passionately advocated for significant funding towards arts capital projects, emphasizing their potential impact.

Landon proposed a substantial investment ranging from $75 million to $100 million, earmarked for the county’s grant program review committee. This allocation, she explained, could generate $15 million to $20 million annually in arts capital projects over the next five years, fostering cultural growth and enhancing the community’s artistic landscape.

Alan Marshal, an environmental policy coordinator with the county’s Planning, Environmental and Development Services Department, asked the task force to support $5 million a year for his department’s request.

“Our request for the task force is for $5 million per year,” Marshal said.

The Tourist Development Tax — the county’s 6% “bed tax” on hotels and short-term rentals — can only be used for purposes tied to tourism. But some residents and task force members said the biggest shares often flow to the same destinations.

Task force member Doug Gomber said return on investment often drives the discussion, particularly which projects can deliver “heads in beds.”

“Those cultural people like the Philharmonic, Orlando Shakes, Wonderland of Ballet — those should be funded. Definitely,” Gomber said. “But are they putting as much heads in beds? No, that’s what the Civic Center, Camping World Stadium and all of them do.”

In recent years, the largest shares of Tourist Development Tax money have consistently gone to the Orange County Convention Center, Visit Orlando, and arts and sports grant programs.

Some task force members said state law limits what the county can do with the money and argued the rules should be changed in Tallahassee.

“I think we’d be having a whole different conversation if the law would allow us to do that,” Gomber said.

About 20 applicants are expected to go before the task force.

Brent Nelson, with the Greater Orlando Sports Commission, told the panel the region is competing for bigger events that come with higher costs.

“Orlando is leveling up. We’ve been recognized as the No. 1 city in America for sports events, and those new opportunities come with higher price tags,” Nelson said.

Teen Lifeguard Hero to be Honored by President Trump at White House for Brave Ocean Rescue

0

SANTA CRUZ, Calif. (KGO) — A 16-year-old lifeguard heroically saved a young boy from the menacing waves at a Santa Cruz beach last Saturday, a brave act that has caught the attention of the White House.

In a post shared on X this Tuesday, President Donald Trump revealed plans to invite the teenager and his family to the White House, where he intends to bestow upon him a “High Civilian Honor.”

The daring rescue unfolded at Seabright State Beach, not far from the iconic Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk. Witness Scott Vander Dussen captured the riveting moment on video, describing how a lifeguard sprinted into the choppy water to rescue the boy.

“I saw the lifeguard just run straight out into the water, and, you know, he dove in, setting fear aside,” Vander Dussen recounted with admiration.

Vander Dussen’s video documents the lifeguard’s courageous battle against the surging waves as he worked tirelessly to secure the boy’s safety, noting how the conditions seemed to change unexpectedly.

“And I think in this situation, the young man was already out there. I don’t think he was bargaining for this. It looked like those waves changed quickly, and he just got overpowered and swept out,” he said.

At one point, beachgoers attempted to assist but were also hit hard by the waves.

Officials with California State Parks released a statement Tuesday providing more details on what happened.

In the statement, they said a California State Parks lifeguard saw the boy lose his balance and get knocked down by a wave. The child was swept approximately 15 yards offshore.

One lifeguard made contact with the boy until another entered the water to assist.

Vander Dussen described the lifeguard’s efforts to keep the boy from being pulled back into the water.

“The lifeguard just had a gorilla grip on that young man, held him from getting swept back out,” he said.

A Pacifica fisherwoman says she’s “lucky to be alive” after being swept into the ocean by a sneaker wave this week during dangerous surf conditions.

The rescue was one of at least 34 reported over the weekend in Santa Cruz County as massive swells pounded the shoreline. In this case, a second lifeguard helped bring the boy safely onto the beach.

“They were trying to help, but then ultimately another lifeguard was able to assist, and I think the two of them did the lion’s share of the work,” Vander Dussen said.

All involved made it safely to shore. Vander Dussen said the outcome could have been much different without the lifeguards’ actions.

“If the lifeguards were not out there, it would have had a different ending. He was in desperate need of help, and those two lifeguards went in and did what needed to be done,” he said.

Knife-Wielding Man Charged for Threats on City Bus

A man in Florida found himself in handcuffs after reportedly brandishing a weapon at fellow bus passengers amidst a torrent of shouting.

Identified as 40-year-old Demetrius Byrd, he faces a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Authorities took him into custody on Monday and placed him in the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center with a bail set at $5,000. The arrest, according to documents examined by Law&Crime, stemmed from an incident that morning when police were called to a Miami Beach intersection. Reports of a man wielding a knife on a Miami-Dade Transit bus sparked the response.

Officers who boarded the bus spoke with the driver, who claimed to witness a dispute involving Byrd. Allegedly, Byrd was seen brandishing a knife at passengers while daringly questioning, “Who wants to die today?”

As revealed by the local news outlet WPLG, Byrd once enjoyed a promising trajectory as a college football player for the Louisiana State University Tigers. Although drafted in 2009 by the San Diego Chargers, he ultimately did not play in the league.

Revitalize Your Core: Top 4 Chair Exercises to Outperform Planks After 60

0

Switch up your exercise routine with chair workouts to relieve joints from the stress of traditional planks.

>

For those in their 60s seeking an effective core strengthening regimen, it might be time to retire floor planks in favor of chair exercises. Designed to be gentle on the joints, these movements offer a practical alternative. Typically executed from a seated posture, they emphasize core activation without straining the back, shoulders, or wrists, making them an exceptional choice for the aging demographic.

To set you on the right path, we consulted with fitness specialists who revealed four chair exercises that build core strength more efficiently than traditional planks for those over 60.

Karen Nelson, a NASM Certified Personal Trainer and Fitness Instructor at Grandview Terrace, a Sun Health Community located in Sun City West, AZ, highlights, “Traditional planks are notorious for putting too much pressure on weight-bearing joints, such as wrists, ankles, knees, and hips, subsequently stressing the spine. Because maintaining the correct form is challenging, there’s a heightened risk of injury. However, the same muscles can be targeted safely when seated.”

Muscle imbalances, where certain areas are stronger than others, are common. Ben Walker, the Founder and Personal Trainer at Anywhere Fitness, specializes in in-home training for clients including athletes and physicians. He emphasizes that, “A chair lends essential support, allowing core muscles to engage uniformly and easing the strain on weaker muscle groups. This not only makes workouts safer but also decreases the likelihood of injuries.”

Now, let’s get started.

Seated Marching or Knee Lifts

“This exercise will help improve hip mobility, strengthen your hip flexors and lower abdominal muscles,” Nelson tells us.

  1. Begin sitting tall with your shoulders drawn back and down, your core engaged, and your feet flat on the floor.
  2. Optionally, place a weight resting just above the working knee on your quad. Hold the weight with your hand.
  3. Lift that knee up toward your chest, bracing your core.
  4. Hold briefly at the top.
  5. Lower your leg back to the start position.
  6. Perform 8 to 16 reps on each side.

Seated Side Bends

“This exercise focuses on the oblique muscles located along the sides of your torso—and, if using weights, will strengthen your shoulders and back,” Nelson explains.

  1. Begin sitting tall with your core engaged and your feet flat on the ground.
  2. Place your right hand on the side of the chair for support. Alternatively, hold a dumbbell with that arm extended toward the floor.
  3. Extend your right arm overhead and slowly bend to the right, feeling a solid stretch along the left side of your body.
  4. Hold for a moment at the bottom before returning to the start position.
  5. Perform 8 reps on each side.

5 No-Equipment Exercises That Strengthen Your Core Faster Than Planks After 40

Elevated Plank

Placing your elbows on the chair eliminates any pressure on the lower back, hands, wrists, and shoulders.

“When you bring your feet back while keeping a neutral spine and the hips tucked in the correct position, you will feel all the same muscles engaging as in a regular plank. This engages the rectus abdominis, obliques, and transverse abdominis. It also helps to strengthen your lower back,” Walker notes.

  1. Begin with your forearms and elbows placed on the chair’s seat.
  2. Walk your feet back so your body forms a straight line from head to heels.
  3. Hold your plank with solid form.

5 Standing Core Moves That Flatten Your Stomach After 40

Mountain Climbers With Hands on Chair

“By elevating the exercise on a chair, we reduce the stress on the hands and wrists when performing the movement in a high plank position. If the opposing muscles of the core and lower back are particularly weak, the floor version of this exercise can put excess pressure on the spine, particularly for older adults,” Walker tells us.

  1. Assume a high plank with your hands holding onto the chair at the base.
  2. Quickly drive your right knee toward your left elbow.
  3. Swiftly return to a plank.
  4. Repeat the movement with your left knee.
  5. Continue to alternate at a fast pace.

Prosecutors Claim Charlie Kirk Murder Case is a Clear-Cut Decision as Trial Verdict Looms

Utah’s legal team is tightening its grip on Tyler Robinson, the alleged assassin of Charlie Kirk. Prosecutors insist that the amassed evidence sufficiently supports moving forward to a full trial.

In the aftermath of a five-day preliminary hearing earlier this month, the prosecution wasted no time. On Tuesday, they submitted the first of three persuasive written briefs to Judge Tony Graf. Their mission? To convincingly argue that the mountain of evidence clearly establishes probable cause for all charges against Robinson, clearing the path for the case to proceed to trial.

“For Judge Graf, this might be one of the more straightforward decisions regarding bindover,” the prosecutors stated. They highlighted that Robinson allegedly admitted to several companions, such as his roommate and romantic partner, that he executed the assassination of Charlie Kirk at Utah Valley University on September 10, 2025. This shocking event unfolded before approximately 3,000 onlookers, and Robinson subsequently turned himself in to law enforcement.

Prosecutors maintain that Robinson’s alleged confessions are merely one aspect of the extensive case they have constructed against him.

“These admissions, along with others, establish probable cause to support most of the elements of the charges,” prosecutors wrote.

“DNA testing, surveillance video, and eyewitness testimony buttress those elements and demonstrate probable cause to support the remaining elements. The Court should bind Defendant for trial over on all counts,” they continued.

According to the filing, Robinson allegedly confessed to former roommate and romantic partner Lance Twiggs, writing, “I had the opportunity to take out Charlie Kirk, and I took it.”

Prosecutors say Robinson also admitted planning the assassination for “a bit over a week,” discussed trying to retrieve the rifle after the shooting and later wrote, “I’m going to turn myself in willingly.”

The 28-page memorandum repeatedly points to evidence introduced during the preliminary hearing, including surveillance video investigators say tracked Robinson across Utah Valley University before and after the shooting, DNA recovered from the suspected murder weapon, a fired cartridge casing, a towel and screwdriver, and eyewitness testimony placing the alleged gunman on the rooftop overlooking Kirk’s event.

Prosecutors argue the evidence leaves little doubt that Robinson should be bound over for trial on all seven counts.

Prosecutors also argue Robinson planned the assassination for more than a week, intentionally targeted Kirk and knowingly endangered numerous bystanders by firing a high-powered rifle into a crowd gathered to hear the conservative activist speak. Prosecutors argue the evidence easily clears Utah’s probable-cause standard at this stage of the case.

Judge Graf requested written arguments after concluding the five-day preliminary hearing earlier this month rather than immediately making a ruling.

The defense is expected to file its written opposition in the coming weeks, followed by a final response from prosecutors before oral arguments are scheduled for Sept. 1.

Robinson, 23, has not yet entered a plea. He faces aggravated murder and six additional felony and misdemeanor charges stemming from Kirk’s killing.

If Judge Graf finds probable cause, Robinson will be bound over for trial. Prosecutors are seeking the death penalty on the aggravated murder charge.
