A Wisconsin mother was allegedly stabbed multiple times by her daughter during a violent confrontation in the parking lot of a Chick-fil-A, authorities said.

Police said Kimberly King, 39, was attacked with a knife after a tense dispute with 21-year-old Shyanniah Ma’ree Johnson escalated.

The argument reportedly began last month as the pair were traveling from Florida back to Milwaukee with King’s young son and her grandson in the vehicle.

King said she pulled into a Chick-fil-A parking lot in Acworth, Georgia, after sensing that her daughter appeared ready to strike her.

‘She put my hair down and just started just stabbing me. She stabbed me multiple times. She stabbed me all over my head, my arms, my shoulders,’ King told Fox 5.

Johnson reportedly stabbed her mother around 10 times. Deputies said the mother ran inside the fast food restaurant after the stabbing where officers already inside the premises were able to call an ambulance.

Johnson was taken to jail but subsequently released by Cherokee County judge, Shannon Wallace on a $3,000 bond. 

King told Fox 5 her daughter’s release has left her fearful, she said: ‘I do not feel safe. I’m upset they let her out.’

King was taken to Wellstar Kennestone Hospital the sheriff’s office said in a news release. 

Johnson, who obtained a leg injury during the fight, allegedly drove away with the two children still inside the car.

Officers later located the car in Whitfield County and took Johnson to Hamilton Medical Center in Dalton, before she was moved to jail.

Court records show that she was charged with aggravated assault and two counts of third-degree cruelty to children. 

King is a manicurist and said on a GoFundMe she set up that the attack has left her hands paralyzed.

‘My hands were my career, my independence, and the way I cared for my children. In minutes, all of that was taken,’ she said.

King claims that she needs assistance bathing, preparing food, getting dressed and ‘caring for my three-year-old son.’ 

King also wrote that her own mother was diagnosed with schizophrenia and stabbed her grandmother when King was six years old.

‘My daughter has not been diagnosed with any condition, and I am not claiming she has one,’ King writes. 

‘But she and my mother shared behaviors that, in hindsight, were warnings I didn’t know how to interpret.’ 

The two children are in the custody of the Georgia Division of Family and Children Services in Whitfield County.

 A lawyer for Johnson declined to comment.

The Daily Mail contacted Judge Wallace, the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office and King for comment. 

Dave Roberts’ late-night media session Tuesday ended on a familiar note, one that has become increasingly common around the Dodgers in recent weeks.

The Los Angeles manager was again asked about Shohei Ohtani’s condition, and then about whether the two-way superstar would be ready to return to the lineup the following day.

“He’ll be in the lineup tomorrow,” Roberts said, offering reassurance after noting that Ohtani had been available as a pinch-hitting option during the Dodgers’ 3-2 victory over the Cincinnati Reds.

Still, the larger concern is not the answer itself. It is the fact that the Dodgers are being forced to address Ohtani’s status almost every day.

What once looked like a season bursting with possibility has turned into a tense final stretch, with Ohtani pushing forward while lingering health questions continue to hang over the Dodgers’ playoff chase.

Before Tuesday’s game, Roberts took time to reflect on Ohtani’s 2026 season –– and how the 32-year-old unicorn went from chasing Cy Young and MVP honors to playing through left knee and right arm injuries that have severely limited his one-of-a-kind skill set.

Roberts said he and the club had “learned” important lessons from the experience. He recognized “that sometimes potentially trying to get ahead of managing [Ohtani’s] workload” was a difficult, delicate task.

Yet, he was careful not to second-guess the way Ohtani had been handled during his first full two-way season with the club (or, what was supposed to be, anyway).

He echoed the same sentiments Ohtani himself had shared the night before, expressing no regrets about the superstar’s usage even in light of the predicament the player and team now find themselves in.

“Obviously, probably, you can say a lot [if you] look back,” Roberts said. “Anyone can do that, and say, ‘What could you have done better or different?’ Absolutely. That’s something going forward we’re gonna look at. But it’s certainly not a blame game thing.”

Such revisionist history dates back to mid-June, when Ohtani first developed his knee problem but initially attempted to try pitching through it. There were then his repeatedly failed efforts to ramp up on the mound, even after he had been removed from the Dodgers rotation in early July following the flare-up of his right biceps.

Granted, for most of the summer the problems didn’t seem to hamper Ohtani at the plate.

But then last month, his offense began to decline as he took on a heavier workload in his ultimately aborted pitching progression.

Two weeks ago, his expected return to the mound was scuttled after he felt lingering issues in a bullpen session, leading the team to finally pull the plug on his long-awaited return to pitching.

At the plate, meanwhile, he slipped into a 6-for-46 slump as a hitter, culminating in a four-strikeout performance last week in which he finally showed some visible pain with his swing, prompting the club to give him four days off afterward.

“It’s, I guess, under the thing of, ‘you don’t know until you know,’ and it’s important to kind of learn from experiences,” Roberts said Tuesday, now that only now do the Dodgers have the benefit of hindsight.

One big lesson: Though Roberts said “it always feels good to run him out there offensively as a DH, always feels good when you pencil him in as a starter,” he highlighted the importance of “just really trying to be mindful” of the toll Ohtani’s body takes over the course of a two-way campaign.

“It’s good for all of us to kind of appreciate that he’s not supernatural,” he added, “as much as we think he might be at times.”

Though Roberts said the club hasn’t discussed plans for next year with Ohtani yet, they still envision him attempting a two-way role again.

In the meantime, they’re hopeful their renewed plan to carefully manage his late-season workload will help him get back on track with his swing in time for October.

“I think that a day here or there is not the worst thing, to make sure that his body overall feels as close to 100% as possible,” Roberts said.

Still, this isn’t the place Ohtani or the team hoped he would be at this stage of the year –– even if, as Ohtani noted Monday, they have at least avoided a worst-case scenario “where I couldn’t play as a hitter.”

“It’s learning from what happened and getting better,” Roberts said.

For now, in the wake of Ohtani’s failed two-way season, that’s the best he and the Dodgers can do.

A Colorado judge raised accused wife killer Barry Morphew’s bond to $10 million after prosecutors said he left the scene of a crash that happened after an airport trip to pick up his daughter.

Morphew was indicted by a grand jury on June 20, 2025, on a first-degree murder after deliberation charge tied to the death of his wife, 49-year-old Suzanne Morphew, a mother of two daughters. Suzanne disappeared on Mother’s Day in 2020 in Colorado, where the couple lived. Barry Morphew was later arrested in Goodyear, Arizona, nearly 11 hours from the area where his wife was last seen.

According to prosecutors, Morphew was involved in an alleged hit-and-run crash on Aug. 26 around 7:30 p.m. after a witness reported seeing him drive “aggressively” before hitting two vehicles. CBS News obtained video showing an exchange between Morphew and another driver, during which he allegedly refused to provide his name or identification and said he did not have insurance. Boulder County sheriff’s deputies arrested him on Sept. 3, and he remains in custody.

Authorities said Morphew offered the other driver $300 for the damage to her vehicle, but she declined the money. Video from the scene also showed him using a T-shirt and his hand to buff scratches on the woman’s car.

At the time, prosecutors said Barry Morphew was picking up his daughter from the airport.

Prosecutors said that once the other driver turned down Barry Morphew’s $300 offer and told him she intended to contact police, he left the scene, nearly striking another person and mounting a curb as he did so.

The conditions of Barry Morphew’s original bond included not traveling outside of his home except under specific circumstances like work or a medical emergency and would be monitored by GPS.

Alamosa County District Judge Amanda Hopkins on Tuesday increased Barry Morphew’s bond to $10 million cash after prosecutor Fred Johnson argued that he is a flight risk and could leave the country.

“Mr. Morphew has shown time and again that he has no respect for any order of this court, and he is not going to comply with it if it is an inconvenience to the lifestyle he wishes to live while out on bond,” Hopkins said.

“We are very, very concerned he has just demonstrated what he’s going to do when push comes to shove,” Johnson said during the hearing.

Barry Morphew’s lawyers argued that he is not a flight risk, stating that he hasn’t fled over a period of five years and said the recent accusation doesn’t warrant an increase in bond.

Prosecutors wrote in the June 2025 indictment that the chemicals butorphanol, azaperone and medetomidine were found in Suzanne Morphew’s bone marrow. They alleged that Barry Morphew used “BAM” deer tranquilizer to sedate and transport deer on his farm when he lived in Indiana. He has pleaded not guilty to one count of first-degree murder.

Morphew was also the only person with a prescription for the deer tranquilizer within the area of the state he lived in, prosecutors said. The only two other entities with access to the BAM compound within the surrounding counties were Colorado Parks and Wildlife and the National Park Service, officials said.

“Ultimately, the prescription records show that when Suzanne Morphew disappeared, only one private citizen living in that entire area of the state had access to BAM: Barry Morphew,” the indictment states.

Morphew’s attorney, David Beller, previously told News Media Morphew “maintains his innocence.”

“Yet again, the government allows their predetermined conclusion to lead their search for evidence,” Beller said. “The case has not changed, and the outcome will not either.”

News Media reached out to Morphew’s lawyer for comment.

Dolly Parton’s heartbroken sister, Stella, has said the country music legend chose to keep her cancer diagnosis hidden from many members of her own family.

Parton died at the age of 80 on August 25, following months of unexplained health concerns that had forced her to cancel several public appearances and left fans increasingly anxious about her condition.

After her death, it was confirmed that the beloved Queen of Country had been privately undergoing treatment for cancer, although the exact type of the disease was not made public.

Now Stella, 77, has shed light on her sister’s decision to opt for discretion on the subject of her medical issues, speaking to Gayle King on CBS Mornings.

Stella said Dolly “did not want anybody to tell” the public, explaining that her sister struggled with negativity and would never have wanted her devoted fans to worry about her health battle.

According to Stella, Parton also hoped to spare much of the family from distress. While “some of us knew,” particularly those closest to her, she said, the diagnosis was not shared with every relative.

Stella insisted that Parton ‘did not want people sad and she did not want people worried. She’d be really happy and delighted that people have shown her so much love because she knew that that would make us feel better as her family.’

The ‘bottom line’ was that Parton’s family – as well as those of her late husband Carl Dean and ‘probably’ her best friend and assistant Judy Ogle – ‘are the people that she would want to say: “Well, see? Everything I did, they cared. They really loved me!”‘

Parton died four days after being admitted to Nashville’s Vanderbilt University Medical Center, according to a report in TMZ.

Her loved ones began racing to Nashville upon hearing news of her hospitalization, but not all were able to reach her while she was alive. 

The Jolene singer’s death was confirmed the day it occurred in an Instagram video posted by her nephew Bryan Seaver, who also acted as her head of security.

‘This video announcement is something Dolly asked of me years ago before I fully absorbed it as a future reality,’ Seaver said.

He hailed his aunt for having ‘lived in the light’ and said she was now ‘in the arms of Jesus’ and the company of her late husband Carl Dean, as well as her parents and ‘countless others who have watched her and longed to meet her in the heavens.’

Three days after she died, an intimate group of loved ones including Seaver was seen gathering at her burial site, the Woodlawn Memorial Park and Mausoleum in Nashville.

Seaver had previously disclosed Parton would be interred in high heels in the same mausoleum that houses the remains of her husband of over half a century.

While it was initially unclear whether Parton was buried at that event, her niece later confirmed that the singer had been ‘laid to rest’ at some point that day. 

In his Instagram video announcing her death, Seaver had relayed Parton’s wish ‘to rest in a beautiful bed of plush cotton because after a life of wearing heavy rhinestones, she finally deserves to be comfortable and have some rest.’ 

Dean died aged 82 of causes that have remained private in March 2025, two months before what would have been his and Parton’s 59th wedding anniversary. 

Parton enjoyed an illustrious music career spanning six decades and was arguably best known for her hits Jolene and 9 to 5. 

The fourth of 12 children, six of whom are now still living, Parton was born in Pittman Center, Tennessee, on January 19, 1946 and raised in the Great Smoky Mountains.

In an interview published just four days before her death, Parton had declared she still had ‘so many things I want to achieve’ and vowed to continue ‘working as long as I can to see everything come to life,’ via People.

She explained that she had been grappling with ‘some health issues that I just didn’t pay attention to when I was watching over Carl.’

At the end of September 2025, Parton raised fan concerns by announcing that unspecified ‘health challenges’ had forced her to postpone her Las Vegas residency from that December until the September 2026. 

She shared the news directly with fans on Instagram, explaining that her medical issues had required her to undergo several procedures.

Then in early October of last year, Parton’s younger sister Freida struck fear into the hearts of fans by pleading with them to pray for the country icon.

‘Last night, I was up all night praying for my sister, Dolly,’ Frieda wrote on Facebook on October 7, 2025. ‘Many of you know she hasn’t been feeling her best lately. I truly believe in the power of prayer, and I have been led to ask all of the world that loves her to be prayer warriors and pray with me.’

As panic mounted, Freida backpedaled, trying to assure the public her sister had ‘been a little under the weather’ but that she never intended to ‘make it sound so serious’ and merely issued her request out of a belief in ‘the power of prayer.’

Parton herself then posted a video of herself in hair, makeup and costume at an ad shoot for the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville in order to comfort her fans.

‘Do I look sick to you?’ she chirpily asked, adding that ‘I appreciate your prayers, because I’m a person of faith, I can always use the prayers for anything and everything, but I want you to know that I’m okay!’
