Kentucky Man Faces Charges for BUI as Search Continues for Missing 19-Year-Old Passenger

0

A 23-year-old man from Kentucky faces charges for operating a boat under the influence after a woman aboard his pontoon went missing.

Cameron Conley was detained on Wednesday on charges of boating under the influence following his report to Grayson Lake Marina staff that Marly Kinney, 19, was missing from his boat and he couldn’t locate her.

Both the Kentucky State Police and the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources have joined forces in the search efforts, according to a report by FOX 56.

When the state troopers arrived, they said they could smell alcohol on Conley’s breath and asked him if he had been drinking. According to court records obtained by FOX 56, Conley admitted that he had been drinking and consented to a breath test.

Conley’s blood alcohol content was measured at 0.137, nearly two times the legal limit in Kentucky. Twenty minutes later, he blew a 0.135, according to authorities.

Conley was arrested and taken to the Carter County Detention Center and has since been released.

Kinney has been missing since 4 p.m. on Wednesday, Lt. Chris Mulholland with the Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources told WSAZ.

Mulholland said Kinney was on the boat with multiple other people and that they are not sure when she got off.

Authorities from multiple agencies have been searching for her both in the lake and on the surrounding trails. They are using sonar, K9 teams and drones with thermal detectors in hopes of locating her as quickly as possible.

Officials said on Friday that a group of 50 volunteers had joined the effort to look for Kinney along the banks of the lake, adding that on and off rain hindered the search, according to WSAZ.

Kinney’s family provided a statement to WSAZ thanking law enforcement and first responders for continuing to look for the young woman.

“We do not even know how to express our absolute gratitude to you all. We continue to have faith she will be found and brought back to us. We know we have the very best people doing all they can to bring her home,” the statement read.

Kinney’s sister, Willow VanHoose, posted pictures of her on Thursday and described what she was wearing at the time of her disappearance.

“She was wearing a pink-orange bikini that is strapless, and is likely to have no shoes. She wears gold jewelry and usually has a dainty gold cross necklace on,” she wrote on Facebook. “She has many tattoos, a sword down her side, a spider on her thigh going around it, butterflies on her arm, a tiger on her arm, and fairies on her shoulder.”

With the search now entering its third day, there has been no more meaningful progress from teams on the ground, according to Lisa Jackson, a spokesperson for the Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources.

“I understand from our game wardens at the scene that there are no new updates. With weather moving through the area throughout the day, the search is continuing as weather permits,” Jackson told Fox News in a statement on Saturday morning.

Guide to Securing Your Share of the $2.25 Million Bank of America ATM Fees Settlement

0

(NEXSTAR) — A class action lawsuit settlement now offers an opportunity for certain ATM users at 7-Eleven stores to claim a share of $2.25 million. For those hoping to benefit, time is running out to submit your claims.

The lawsuit, initiated in California in 2019, accused Bank of America of improperly charging dual out-of-network fees for a single balance inquiry on ATMs situated within 7-Eleven locations.

Despite denying any fault, Bank of America decided to settle the dispute, agreeing to a $2.25 million payment to resolve the allegations.

Do I qualify for this Bank of America settlement?

Eligibility hinges on your customer status with Bank of America. Specifically, if you conducted a balance inquiry using an FCTI-owned ATM at a 7-Eleven between May 1, 2018, and November 16, 2021, you might qualify.

Wondering how to confirm your eligibility? Your mailbox may hold the answer—as part of the settlement process, you might have already received a notification via email or postcard.

Former account holders who are notified of the settlement will need to submit a claim and select a preferred payment method. To file a claim, you’ll need the class member ID listed on the email or postcard notice you received.

Current account holders need to take no action, settlement administrators say.

How much will I receive?

Payments will vary based on how many current account holders, who receive relief immediately, were impacted, and how many former account holders file a valid claim.

Settlement administrators say payments will be proportional.

I’m a former customer. How do I file a claim?

You will want to consult the postcard or email you received, administrators say. You will use the information on that notice to file a claim online or by paper.

More details can be found on the settlement’s website.

When is the deadline, and when will payments begin?

The deadline to file a claim is June 29, 2026.

A final approval hearing for the settlement is scheduled for August 2026.

In most class action lawsuits, payments are sent out shortly after the final approval hearing. However, objections and other court proceedings can delay this process.

Harry Styles Alarmingly Chokes on Water During Wembley Performance

0

At his recent Wembley concert, Harry Styles alarmed fans when he began choking on water and collapsed during his performance.

Friday marked a new record for the hottest June day in the UK, as temperatures soared to 37.5°C in London for the third consecutive day.

A video circulating on TikTok shows the singer attempting his signature ‘whale’ spit, only to visibly choke on the water.

The footage then captures Harry dropping to the stage floor while struggling to breathe for a brief moment.

Fortunately, he was soon able to sit up, easing some concerns, but fans were understandably worried about the beloved performer.

One concertgoer told the Daily Mail: ‘As Harry ran down the stage for the final time in preparation for his famous whale, he sprayed the crowd before he then started to cough.

Harry is then captured, falling to the floor while he continues to choke for a few seconds

‘Managing to suppress his chokes, he performed the whale before falling to the floor where he lay on his back and continued to cough and splutter. It was quite worrying but he quickly got up to continue with the gig’.

Commenting on the heat at the concert, they added: ‘After the first two songs, he took off his jacket and his shirt was already soaked with sweat, and he was like “oh god look at that! I’ve only done 2 songs!”

Worried fans shared their concerns on social media, penning: ‘When he fell to his knees, my heart stopped in shock. Harry is incredible, it surely takes immense strength and stamina to perform in these temperatures, and yet he always gives it his all ❤️’,

‘He’s too dedicated to us, just Breathe Harry’,

‘I nearly had a heart attack watching the live stream!! Thought he collapsed from heat or exhaustion!!! Love you dearly Harry!!’,

‘I was soo worried about him’,

‘I was so scared, i was like oh noo’,

‘I got so scared for a second’,

‘I thought he passed out’,

‘I DONT LIKE THIS’,

‘Is he okay?’

The Daily Mail has contacted Harry’s representatives for comment.

It comes just days after Harry opened night six of his Wembley Stadium residency by urging concert-goers to look after each other as temperatures soared.

On Tuesday, the UK was bracing for its ‘hottest day ever’ as a heat dome spreading across Europe reached the country.

The Health Security Agency has issued a red health alert warning that there is a ‘risk to life for even the healthy population’.

Temperatures were forecast to reach 33 °C in Wembley at 5pm when the doors opened and were expected to remain at a 31C high, as the One Direction star took to the stage at 8.05pm, following support act Shania Twain.

Harry arrived on stage for the latest date of his Together Together tour dressed in his signature short shorts, teamed with a matching teal blazer and orange shirt.

The singer, who kicked off his record-breaking 12-night Wembley residency on June 12, urged the 80,000 fans present to ‘look after each other’.

‘We’re going to look after each other, please try and stay hydrated. If you need anything at any point, please let me know, we can stop at any time,’ he said.

‘It’s all good. We’re gonna look after each other, have fun, dance, get sweaty, sing, scream if you wanna go faster.’

Wembley Stadium relaxed its water bottle policy on Tuesday to allow concertgoers to bring metal or hard plastic water bottles inside.

They also advertised half-priced water available for sale inside whilst free suncream was available from information points.

A red weather warning has been issued across the country for Wednesday and Thursday, with temperatures due to come close to Britain’s all-time record of 40.3C, set in July 2022.

Some schools have cancelled trips and are setting work for students to do at home, after the Met Office warned the heatwave is expected to bring ‘severe and significant impacts’, including widespread health risks for many.

Meanwhile, the Army has cancelled ceremonial operations in London and Windsor to protect the ‘wellbeing’ of its soldiers, and lidos are already fully booked for the week ahead.

Extreme heat is also expected to cause travel disruption tomorrow with train services across Kent and south-east London likely to be affected, South Eastern Railway said.

The rail operator urged passengers to only travel if ‘absolutely necessary’.

The highest temperature recorded in the UK on Tuesday was 34.6C in Wisley in Surrey, the Met Office has said.

Scotland and Northern Ireland recorded their hottest days of the year so far with the mercury hitting 28.8C in Fyvie Castle, Aberdeenshire, and 26.4C in Katesbridge, County Down.

Meanwhile data has revealed that the heatwave means that fans at Harry’s concerts this week experience almost the same physical exertion as a HYROX session.

As well as the impact of the current heatwave, The Odd Company has assessed what is physically underway for Styles fans, by analysing the setlist.

Each track’s estimated BPM and duration were then analysed to estimate fan movement intensity and energy expenditure, alongside additional activity such as the average step-count to and from the stadium, and found that by just over halfway, energy output matches running a 10K in 60 minutes.

By the end of the night, the concert almost reaches HYROX-level exertion.

Harry has been making sure he gets his workouts in before heading to stage.

The star was spotted running to his two-hour Wembley concert on Friday.

Known for his love of running, having completed two marathons, Harry was seen making his way to his concert by running 10km from his home in Hampstead to the northwest London arena.

In a TikTok video posted by @paigealicex, the singer could be seen in a grey sweatshirt and purple shorts heading towards the stadium.

‘Harry Styles running to his own show. I was too stunned to speak,’ they penned alongside the clip.

Fans found the clip hilarious, as they commented: ‘I thought Chris Martin getting the train to Cardiff was epic but this beats that.’

Last year, Harry impressed onlookers when he crossed the finish line with a time of 3:24:07 at Tokyo Marathon, landing him in very respectable 6,010th place of 26,706 runners.

And six months later, the Watermelon Sugar singer scored a new personal best when he ran the Berlin Marathon in under three hours, with a finish time of 2:59:13.

Starring on the cover of Runner’s World back in March, Harry explained the sport allows him to be alone with his thoughts and shed the trappings of fame.

After taking time away from the spotlight to go travelling, attend Glastonbury, hit the Berlin club scene and see the new Pope be announced in Rome, Harry found his passion for running, saying it became a place for him to ‘really be by myself’.

He said: ‘Because in some of those new experiences, there’s just so much stimulation, right? So many people, and it’s just so loud.

‘So then running also became my processing place for all of that. Really being by myself. When you’re training for a marathon, which is the loneliest part, you just kind of set out for a run, and three hours later you come back.

‘But there’s a real synergy between that and electronic music. It’s kind of hypnotic and becomes like a mantra almost.’

Georgia Toffolo Criticized for ‘Tone Deaf’ Commentary on Affordable Fashion Buy

Georgia Toffolo has come under fire for her ‘tone deaf and embarrassing’ joke regarding her thrifty vacation attire.

The 31-year-old Made In Chelsea star has a reported net worth of £425 million, bolstered by her marriage to former Brewdog CEO James Watt. Already a savvy entrepreneur, Toff was worth £5 million independently.

However, on Friday, Toff appeared in a TikTok video demonstrating her frugality as she raved about the brilliance of high street fashion, jokingly noting that her latest shopping splurge ‘didn’t break the bank.’

In the video, Toff showcased her moves in a £33 pink strapless top from H&M, which was discounted to £28. She expressed concern over its size but figured out she could adjust it by tying it tighter at the back.

Toff enthused about the high street: ‘It’s just wonderful! I could cry. I thought it was too roomy and I’d have to return it. Oh, but wait, I can make it fit!’

‘Don’t you think this looks so expensive. Like I’ve kitted myself out for my next holiday.’

Toff finished the clip by musing: ‘It’s not broken my bank, I can tell you. Wow! I think that’s really special.’

Fans were not impressed with the video, penning in the comments: ‘Anyone find this tone deaf’; ‘It’s actually one of the most embarrassing videos I’ve seen in a while’; ‘It is not breaking my bank I can tell you…  High Street purchases are a choice for most of us though. where is it from’ [sic].

While Toff may have rubbed some of her followers up the wrong way with her clip, the millionaire businesswoman has previously expressed her love of bargain hunting.

Earlier this month, the fashion conscious influencer told her followers how they could become just as successful as her at finding bargains on Vinted, explaining she likes to ‘lowball’ sellers to haggle pennies off the price.

The beginning of the video – shot from her multi-million pound penthouse, showed some edited moments spliced together in which Georgia yelled: ‘I’ve changed my name from Georgia Toffolo to Georgia Watt.

‘You know some people have a weird sexual kink…  getting a positive pregnancy test….

‘I have a gift and I didn’t know God gave me this gift. Like, I am the bargain hunter.

‘Until I really started taking Vinted seriously, about three months ago… My secret talent is finding the best stuff on Vinted.

‘I think there are real sharks on there. Me being one of them. There are tips and tricks that I am going to tell  you, to find the good stuff. It’s unfair that I am getting all the good stuff.

‘You need to get in the shark tank and compete with me. Right. RIGHT!’ she bellowed as her face went close up to the camera.

Georgia has been refreshingly open about her wish to get pregnant with husband James Watt, saying she thought it would just happen straight away for her

Georgia has been refreshingly open about her wish to get pregnant with husband James Watt, saying she thought it would just happen straight away for her

Showing off some of her amazing finds, Georgia continued: ‘I have a tendency to lowball people on Vinted. It’s like my dirty secret.

‘And I was getting quite embarrassed about the whole thing. I thought there was going to be rumours flying around… banging ensemble… back to the story.

‘I thought there was going to be rumours flying around that Georgia off the tele is low-balling people on Vinted. So… I came up with an alternative plan.’

Slapping her thigh, she said: ‘So I changed my name from Georgia Toffolo to Georgia Watt, which is my husband’s surname.

‘So I thought that would give me like an extra layer of added anonymity so I could keep low-balling people.

‘And then I was having a word with myself like, is this normal behaviour? I confided in my friends. Loads of my friends do it too.

‘You give me, 50p off asking, I will buy it within an instant. It’s a confirmed deal. But if you say no, I can’t have a penny off, I didn’t want the jacket anyway… You’ve just got to know how to work the algorithm.’

Holding a chiffon scarf over her face, she said: ‘You know some people have a sexual kink… YOU WHOOOOO! I have it for empire line busts, a matching cape! This was £22.75!’

This aside, there was a heartwarming moment from Georgia in which she bravely referred to her struggle to get pregnant.

‘Nothing beats the offer accepted… I imagine it’s sort of a parallel feeling to me getting a positive pregnancy test, you know. Can’t believe I just said that.

‘Inappropriate or truthful? Think it might be on the same level of elation that I’d feel.’

Closing, she asks her followers to DM ‘Toff’s tips’ in order to receive all her tips on getting a Vinted bargain.

Georgia has been refreshingly open about her wish to get pregnant, saying she thought it would just happen straight away for her and promising to keep her fans in the loop to help anyone else who might be in the same position.

Miracle Baby Born Amid Collapse of Venezuelan Building Survives Against Odds

0

In a remarkable turn of events, a newborn baby boy has been delivered in the darkness beside a collapsed structure in Venezuela, serving as a beacon of hope for a nation grappling with the aftermath of Wednesday’s dual earthquakes.

A video captured the scene as Dr. María Fernanda Terán assisted in the birth, with the mother lying prone on the pavement in the coastal city of La Guairá, the area most devastated by the tremors in this South American country.

In the footage, Terán can be seen cradling the newborn, while a male passerby supports the upper part of her body. Shortly afterward, another individual steps forward to provide the mother with an additional blanket.

The mother, whose identity remains undisclosed, was pulled from a collapsed building before being moved to a safe location where she began to give birth. Reports from the scene confirm that both mother and child are in good health.

“Delivering a baby amidst the tremors in #laguairavenezuela has been the greatest challenge of my life,” Terán shared on her social media page.

Venezuelans celebrated the miraculous birth and showered Terán with praise.

“Amidst the darkness, there is light,” one person commented. “Here is living proof; that treasure arrived to be a light.”

“Because in the midst of misfortune, miracles still exist,” another onlooker said.

“That infant is a blessing and it is a blessing going through that storm,” another follower said. “So beautiful.”

“Girl, I’m so proud to be your colleague,” one of Terán’s co-workers added. “Go out there and do it for all of us doctors from Trujillo who want to be there but have to be here.”

The two powerful earthquakes rattled Venezuela’s northern coast, killing more than 900 people and injuring more than 3,000, according to data released by National Assembly leader Jorge Rodríguez on Friday.

He said that close to 3,000 have lost their homes and that at least 1,400 building were damaged, including 13 hospital and 25 commercial facilities.

A 7.2-magnitude quake hit at 7:04 p.m. local time followed by a 7.5 magnitude just 39 seconds later, knocking down buildings in Caracas, the capital — and 15 other cities, leaving residents to scramble in search of their loved ones.

Iran Nuclear Agreement Dependent on IAEA Access to Previously Restricted Atomic Weapon Sites, Analysts Indicate

0

Following two wars aimed at crippling Iran’s nuclear capabilities through joint efforts with Israel, the pressing question now revolves around peace prospects. At the heart of this issue is the Iranian regime’s willingness, or lack thereof, to grant the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) access to its nuclear weapons facilities.

Despite ongoing diplomatic negotiations, President Trump and Iran’s Foreign Ministry offer conflicting narratives. This indicates the IAEA could confront the same barriers it has encountered over the past 20 years. Tehran’s steadfast policy of blocking inspectors from conducting thorough verifications at its sprawling nuclear facilities, including those shrouded underground, continues to pose a significant challenge. This impasse might prove to be a deal-breaker for the Trump administration.

David Albright, a prominent authority on Iran’s nuclear weapons program, shared with News Media that the “IAEA comes up short” in securing crucial information and verification from Iran. As Albright points out, Iran’s two-decade-long lack of cooperation has thwarted the IAEA’s efforts at every turn.

Albright, a physicist and the president of the Institute for Science and International Security, remarked that “Iran loves to generate plans of action that can be extended,” transforming what should be a straightforward verification process into a “pointless exercise.” His insights highlight the enduring frustration faced by the international community in monitoring Iran’s nuclear ambitions.

For Iran experts like Albright, Iran’s skill in the art of procrastination has allowed it to stretch out talks over the decades while working to advance its work on a nuclear weapons device and a missile system to deliver it.

As a result, Albright said “it colors my view of the MOU [Memorandum of Understanding]” agreed to between the U.S. and Iran that codifies IAEA inspections of Iran’s atomic weapons program.

Albright sees the IAEA as a key test for the success of U.S.-Iran talks. “The way Iran treats the IAEA will tell us if the negotiations are meaningful,” adding that Tehran’s regime has treated the IAEA terribly in the past.

The website of the Islamic Republic of Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs declared in a statement that “Foreign Ministry Spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei, speaking to reporters, denied reports published by certain media outlets claiming that the Islamic Republic of Iran has invited the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) to inspect its nuclear facilities.”

A headline in the Islamic Republic News Agency Wednesday stated, “No plan for access to Iran’s attacked nuclear facilities without final deal, says deputy FM.” The regime-controlled outlet noted that Deputy Foreign Minister for Legal and International Affairs Kazem Gharibabadi wrote on his X account that no meeting was held with Grossi in Switzerland, despite the IAEA head requesting that Iran meet with him. “There is no plan for access to the facilities that were attacked or to the nuclear materials,” Gharibabadi wrote.

On Friday in Japan, IAEA Director Rafael Grossi told reporters, “This agreement expressly indicates that the nuclear part will be supervised, monitored, by the IAEA.” He added that “a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was subscribed by the two presidents, by President Donald Trump and President Pezeshkian from Iran, and this agreement expressly indicates that the nuclear part will be supervised, monitored, by the IAEA.”

He noted that “initial conversations” have started about inspections of Iran’s nuclear sites. “We hope to be there soon,” he said. It is unclear if Grossi’s team will examine all Iranian nuclear weapons facilities and suspected nuclear sites.

The IAEA declined to answer a detailed News Media press query on why previous IAEA oversight efforts failed; what would be different this time; whether inspectors can access meaningful sites or only symbolic locations; and would the IAEA focus on access to the Pickaxe Mountain facility versus sites already damaged or buried.

Albright said Israel’s government has identified ten or more sites where Iran is suspected of being involved in nuclear weapons. The IAEA spokesman declined to comment on whether their inspectors will demand to visit those sites.

Jason Brodsky, policy director at United Against Nuclear Iran (UANI), told News Media that “Iran should be made to come clean and allow inspections not only at declared nuclear sites — especially the ones damaged during Operation Midnight Hammer — but also at universities, military bases and other state organizations that have been used to engage in dual-use research which is applicable to the development of a nuclear weapon should there be a leadership decision to do so. Inspections on Iran’s nuclear weaponization program were not part of the original 2015 JCPOA, which was one of its weaknesses.”

The JCPOA, whose formal name is the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action, was negotiated by former President Obama’s administration in 2015. Albright, a sharp critic of the JCPOA, said the Obama deal accepted that Iran did not cooperate and “swept it under the rug.”  Albright warned that “It is really important that the U.S. [Trump administration] not do a JCPOA.”

Trump withdrew from the JCPOA in 2018. He said at the time the JCPOA was a “horrible one-sided deal that should never ever have been made.”

Brodsky stressed that “Any new agreement should include more robust inspection powers. Iran’s denial of inspections at the damaged nuclear facilities since June 2025 violates its obligations under the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty.”

When asked about the IAEA’s impotence with respect to intrusive sanctions on Iran’s nuclear facilities, a White House spokeswoman referred News Media to Vice President JD Vance and Grossi’s comments.

JD Vance

“The Iranians have agreed to invite IAEA inspectors back into their country. That is a major milestone for the American people, and the first step in permanently denuclearize, easing or permanently ending a nuclear weapons program in Iran,” Vance said on Monday. He added, “And that’s exactly what we wanted to do. That’s exactly what we asked to happen.”

President Trump wrote on Truth Social: “Despite their protestations and false statements to the contrary, coupled with the drumbeat of the Fake News, which is doing everything possible to make the U.S. Victory as small and insignificant as possible, Iran has fully and completely agreed to highest level Nuclear inspections long into the future (Infinity!!!). This will insure ‘Nuclear Honesty.’ If they did not agree to this, there would be no further negotiations! “

The Islamic Republic’s spokesman to the U.N. did not respond to a News Media press query.

The U.S. State Department declined to comment.

June 27 FIFA 2026 World Cup: Match Scores, Reports, and Highlights

0

Cape Verde has once again captured the world’s attention with its remarkable World Cup journey.

Their debut turned even more extraordinary on Friday as they clinched a spot in the tournament’s round of 32. A hard-fought 0-0 draw against Saudi Arabia paved the way for an unexpected showdown with reigning champions Argentina in Miami.

In a historic moment, Cape Verde has shattered records by becoming the first team in 20 years new to the World Cup to progress to the knockout rounds, and they stand as the third-smallest nation to ever qualify. This achievement also marks them as the tiniest country to advance beyond the group stage.

Situated in the Atlantic Ocean off Africa’s western coast, the small island nation, home to approximately 500,000 inhabitants, maintained composure in their Saturday (AEST) match against Saudi Arabia.

With three draws, Cape Verde secured second place in their group, trailing behind leader Spain. Meanwhile, Uruguay and Saudi Arabia saw their World Cup journeys come to an end.

After the final whistle, Cape Verde’s players and staff huddled over their phones and broke out in celebration when the other match in the group ended, generating a roar from their supporters who banged on drums having cheered their team on all night.

Many players lingered on the pitch after most of the supporters had exited Houston stadium as they took pictures, draped themselves in flags and absorbed the historic moment for their tiny nation.

The match itself was low on quality as Cape Verde looked the more likely to score throughout but lacked composure in the final third, spurning a clutch of clear-cut chances including a Laros Duarte miss when one-on-one with goalkeeper Mohammed Alowais.

Both sides started brightly knowing a potential ticket to the round of 32 was on the line but neither found much success during an opening period marred by poor passes and mistimed tackles.

An early chance fell to Willy Semedo after he cut in from the left flank and fired off a shot from a tight angle as the Africans gradually stepped up the pressure and grabbed hold of the match following a cagey opening.

1782529337918-d6bd17d7-e9e1-40a8-97d5-00af49e3898b-fulltime-CaboVerde-SaudiArabia.png

Saudi Arabia produced their first attempt on target in first-half stoppage time when Mohamed Kanno directed a header straight at Cape Verde goalkeeper Vozinha, whose mother was watching in the stands having arrived late to the tournament due to the cost of a US visa.

Cape Verde started the second half looking like the only team hunting for a goal but despite producing 15 attempts could not convert a number of clear chances as Saudi Arabia struggled to mount an attack.

Saudi Arabia exited the tournament meekly, having scored a single goal in their three games and never looked like adding to their tally in Houston in a display that lacked ambition for the most part.

Iran and Egypt swallow their pride in Seattle

Meanwhile, Iran were deprived of a certain place in the World Cup knockout phase when a goal in stoppage time that would have given them a 2-1 win against Egypt was disallowed.

Shoja Khalilzadeh thought he had scored the crucial winning goal as he slammed into the net after Egyptian defenders failed to clear, but Iranian celebrations were cut short after VAR deemed there was offside.

The final whistle sounded soon afterwards, leaving white-shirted Iranian players sprawled on the turf in disbelief.

With three points, Iran still has a chance to qualify as one of the eight best third-placed teams.

The Egyptians learned before the game that they were qualified for the last 32 for the first time in their history due to results elsewhere, but that took nothing away from a ferocious match in Seattle.

The game also coincided with Pride Week, an event celebrated in the city since 1974. The match was nominated as a Pride event by Seattle city authorities long before the World Cup draw was made.

When the FIFA computer had finished compiling the fixtures, the two countries that ended up playing in the Pride Match were certainly not what the Seattle city organisers had hoped for.

It has caused tensions at the World Cup, with Iranian and Egyptian officials both raising objections to the Pride celebrations around their fixture.

Homosexuality is illegal in Iran under Islamic law and can be punishable by death. In Egypt, homosexuality is often penalised under vaguely worded laws prohibiting “debauchery”.

Both teams’ coaches refused to be drawn on their opinion of the event in their pre-match press conferences.

Spain through to 32

Spain beat Uruguay 1-0 on Friday to top Group H and reach the World Cup knockout stage, with Alex Baena’s first-half strike proving decisive as Marcelo Bielsa’s side exited the tournament.

Spain struggled to breach Uruguay’s solid backline before Alex Baena broke the deadlock just before halftime, firing a shot that goalkeeper Fernando Muslera fumbled into his own net.

Uruguay replaced Muslera at halftime after his costly error, but despite piling on the pressure, they could not beat Spain goalkeeper Unai Simon, who denied Mathias Olivera and Nicolas de la Cruz, while Ferran Torres hit the crossbar at the other end.

Spain finished with seven points from two wins and a draw.

It was the Ousmane Dembélé show in France v Norway

It was supposed to be the Erling Haaland and Kylian Mbappé show in the France v Norway match this morning, but fans ended up with a different piece of theatre.

The sold-out 64,000 crowd at Boston stadium paid to see two of the greatest strikers of their generation fight it out, but ended up with a one-man show.

France’s striker Ousmane Dembélé tore up the script, delivering a mesmerising first-half performance crowned with his first World Cup hat-trick, only the third French player to achieve the feat in the tournament’s 96-year history, as his team swept a second-string Norway team aside 4-1.

Last year’s Ballon d’Or winner struck three times in a free-flowing game, with Norway, also assured of a spot in the Round of 32 after finishing second, heavily rotating their starting lineup and leaving Haaland on the bench.

That mattered little for France, who hit the bar through Mbappé 25 seconds into the game and showed they meant business.

It was a few minutes later that 29-year-old Dembélé opened his account. By the end of the first half the Paris St Germain striker and back-to-back Champions League winner had silenced his critics with a hat-trick in a span of 25 minutes.

Dembélé, a world champion in 2018, had not scored a World Cup goal in his two previous tournaments in 2018 and 2022 and a total of 11 matches at the finals, prompting many to question his ability to deliver on the big stage for the national team, and pointing to his lack of consistency and efficiency when playing for his country instead of his club.

His overall record for France was equally unimpressive, with eight goals in 61 internationals prior to Saturday’s match.

But Dembélé proved his worth with a goal against Iraq in France’s second group game before adding the three on Saturday, taking his tally at the tournament to four — as many as Mbappé and one less than leading scorer Lionel Messi of Argentina.

Dembélé also joined France great Just Fontaine and Mbappé as the only French players to have scored at least three goals in a World Cup match. His three goals in the first 32 minutes of the game was also the second-earliest hat-trick in a World Cup behind Austria’s Erich Probst in 1954 (24 minutes).

Dembélé’s treble will, however, do more than just go into World Cup record books.

It sent an ominous warning to fellow title contenders that France now have goal threats that go well beyond Mbappé. With Dembélé discovering his World Cup scoring form just before the knockout stage, France look to be the team to beat.

Both France and Norway have already qualified for the knockout stage.

Senegal’s emphatic 5-0 victory

Senegal kept their World Cup knockout hopes alive in dominant fashion on Friday with a 5-0 victory over 10-man Iraq, who have been eliminated from the tournament.

Survival was on the line as both sides entered the match needing to win, preferably by a large margin, to stay in the hunt for one of the last eight spots in the round of 32.

Senegal struck in the fourth minute after Lamine Camara hooked a corner into the box and Abdoulaye Seck’s downward header grazed off the boot of teammate Habib Diarra to send the ball up and over Iraq keeper Ahmed Basil.

More trouble followed for Iraq when defender Rebin Sulaka pulled a goalward-bound Sadio Mane down on the edge of the box. After a VAR check for a possible red card, Sulaka was given his marching orders by English referee Anthony Taylor.

Despite being down a man, Iraq were brave in attack in the first half and Senegal failed to capitalise on the advantage, with long-range efforts from Ismail Jakobs and Mane sailing wide.

It rained goals in the second half, however, as Senegal came out with more urgency and conviction.

Ismaila Sarr bagged his fourth career World Cup goal from close range to become his country’s all-time leading scorer in the tournament and substitute Pape Gueye unleashed two rockets from distance to send Senegal’s army of fans into raptures.

Iliman Ndiaye added another long-range strike to cap off Senegal’s five-star performance, and their green-clad supporters began to chant “Senegal! Senegal!” as the clock wound down.

Senegal finished third in Group I with three points, behind France and Norway. Iraq finished fourth with zero points.

The African side must wait until the group stage ends on Saturday to see if they are one of the eight best third-placed teams who will advance to the round of 32.

Tennessee Titans Coach Mike Vrabel’s Son Arrested: Family Drama Unfolds

0

The Vrabel family has found itself in the limelight once more after Tyler, the son of coach Mike Vrabel, was apprehended on charges of reckless driving in Tennessee. This incident follows closely on the heels of the recent scandal involving the coach.

As reported by the New York Post, police documents reveal that the 26-year-old was cited for reckless driving, speeding, and having an expired registration after being stopped by officers in Brentwood, Williamson County, on May 9.

The incident occurred around 8:15 a.m. when Tyler, currently an offensive line coach at Boston College and a former NFL player, was reportedly driving a Ford F-150 at 71 mph in a 45 mph zone.

The affidavit notes that upon being pulled over, Tyler, who once played for the Atlanta Falcons, presented vehicle registration that had expired in December 2024.

The document further details how the vehicle was speeding through a residential area and behaving in a manner considered exceedingly dangerous to other local drivers and residents.

Meanwhile, online records indicate that formal charges were later filed on May 21, resulting in nearly $1,000 in total fines for the assistant coach.

The steep penalties included a mandatory $250 fee required for taking a blood alcohol test during the traffic stop.

The legal run-in comes at a highly sensitive time for the family, unfolding just weeks after a massive affair scandal surrounding Vrabel and reporter Dianna Russini.

The scandal originally broke after photographs emerged showing the pair cozied up together at an exclusive, adults-only resort during a trip to Sedona, Arizona.

The Post later published more photos of Vrabel and Russini enjoying breakfast together at the same resort and other pictures showing the two kissing at a New York bar, reportedly, in March of 2020.

Russini and her husband, Shake Shack executive Kevin Goldschmidt, were married in September 2020. Vrabel has been married to Jen since 1999.

Furthermore, the Daily Mail has also published photos of Vrabel with the NFL insider at a Biloxi, Mississippi, casino in January 2024, and of him with a pregnant Russini renting a boat on a Tennessee lake three years earlier when he was coaching the Titans and she was reporting for ESPN.

Speaking before the first round of the NFL Draft, Vrabel stopped short of confessing to an affair. However, he did admit to causing ‘a distraction to the people that I care most about, my family, this football team, the organization and our fans.

‘My previous actions don’t meet the standard that I hold myself to,’ he conceded.

‘They don’t. What I believe is best for the two most important things in my life, my family and this football team, is for us to take the necessary steps to work together and to give them what I told them I’d give them, which is the best version of me, and that’s what we’re going to do.’

Vrabel stepped away from the team during the third day of the Draft to attend a counseling session, he said, because he was going to prioritize his family over his job going forward.

‘My priorities are my family and this football team – and in that order – and there’s a balance there that I am going to create. My family needs me this weekend and that’s where I’ll be.’

Meanwhile, Tyler’s reckless driving drama also comes just weeks after he announced his engagement with his partner.

Tyler’s fiancée, Mariah Romano, shared photos from the engagement party on Instagram, with the third picture in her post showing Mike and Jen smiling alongside their soon-to-be daughter-in-law and two sons.

Mariah said in the caption: ‘the most perfect engagement surrounded by the people I love most’.

The Daily Mail has reached out to the Brentwood Police Department, Williamson County Sheriff’s Office and Boston College for comment.

Road Rage Turns Deadly: Woman Fatally Shot in Humboldt Park’s Chaotic Encounter

0

CHICAGO (WLS) — Tragedy struck the Humboldt Park neighborhood on Friday afternoon when a woman was fatally shot following an altercation that spiraled into violence.

The tension mounted just after 3:30 p.m. at the crossroads of Chicago and Homan avenues. According to the police, what started as a physical fight in traffic quickly escalated when shots rang out.

During the confrontation, a 27-year-old woman reportedly pulled out a firearm and opened fire, hitting a 36-year-old woman multiple times in the chest.

The victim was quickly rushed to Mt. Sinai Hospital, where she eventually succumbed to her injuries. The Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office later identified her as Shaday Ingram.

Witness Dave Sartore noted that the gravity of the situation was not apparent to him at first.

“I didn’t assume it was shots until I got, maybe, like, real close, like, right here, and I’m seeing someone not moving, laying in the streets,” Sartore said.

The scene was marked by crime tape and evidence markers spread across the roadway, underscoring the violence that had unfolded in broad daylight.

Sartore also described the aftermath.

“Just screaming, crying, and hugging a dead body,” Sartore said.

Another witness, José Ramos, said the encounter appeared to begin as a road rage incident.

“I heard people arguing. So, I turn around and I seen two girls and they were just about to get physical. And then, one girl was screaming and another guy. Then, the guy got in and then I heard another lady’s voice. Next thing you know, it’s pow, pow, pow, pow,” Ramos said.

Investigators focused on two vehicles stopped in the middle of the street as part of their response.

Sartore said the location and timing made the violence particularly striking. “But, right there in the middle of the street in the middle of the day, yeah, that is very strange.”

Ramos voiced frustration over the incident. “We need to change this, man. You know, this is too bad.”

Police said the alleged shooter was taken into custody at the scene, where officers also recovered a firearm. Charges were pending as of Friday evening.

Jenni ‘JWoww’ Farley Praises Wedding Guests After Excluding ‘Jersey Shore’ Cast

0

Jenni “JWoww” Farley is expressing gratitude for the loved ones who attended her surprise wedding with husband Zack Carpinello, notably excluding her “Jersey Shore” co-stars Angelina Pivarnick and Ronnie Ortiz-Magro from the celebration.

While initial reports suggested that Pivarnick and Ortiz-Magro were unexpectedly left off the guest list, Farley remains unfazed by the chatter. Her focus is firmly on her joyous future with Carpinello.

In an exclusive with Page Six, the couple shared their excitement, saying, “We’re still absorbing it all,” alongside revealing candid images from their nuptials.

Farley remarked, “Each moment of our wedding was filled with purpose and love. It reminded us of how lucky we are to have such wonderful people in our lives, making it a perfect start to our married life.”

Although Jenni did not touch upon the alleged guest list drama in her joint statement with Carpinello, she had previously addressed the matter on TikTok.

In a Thursday video upload, Farley said it is “infuriating” that she’s “now getting caught up in retweets and tabloids about who was invited and who wasn’t invited” to the intimate event.

“If you were a true friend or family member, none of this would be public right now,” the bride, 41, said.

“You would’ve [come] to me. But you can’t come to me, because then you can’t play victim to your own fake ass narrative.”

Farley further explained that the newlyweds only wanted 50 of their closest family and friends at the New Jersey event.

“These people that are s – – t talking and creating these anonymous threads and tabloids things are the whole reason why they weren’t invited,” she told her followers. “You proved my point.”

Farley claimed the unnamed people who weren’t invited to the wedding “ran to the tabloids or commented under the tabloids” because they’re “in it for the drama.”

However, a source told Page Six Pivarnick is just “angry.”

Reps for Pivarnick and Ortiz-Magro didn’t respond to Page Six’s requests for comment.

Farley tied the knot with 31-year-old pro wrestler Carpinello on Wednesday at Madison Modern Social in Old Bridge, NJ.

The couple invited loved ones — including Farley’s co-stars Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi, Deena Nicole Cortese, Sammi “Sweetheart” Giancola and Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino — to the venue for what guests thought was a special screening of her upcoming film “Nanny Cam.”
