Royal Visit to RAF: Prince George and Kate Celebrate National Armed Forces Day

0

Prince George, nearly matching his mother’s height, accompanied the Princess of Wales on a meaningful visit to an RAF base in celebration of National Armed Forces Day.

Kate, who has held the title of Royal Honorary Air Commodore of RAF Coningsby in Lincolnshire since 2023, appeared joyful as she joined her 12-year-old son for the outing.

During the visit, mother and son were guided around the base, home to two combat-ready squadrons and the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight’s historic aircraft fleet.

RAF Coningsby also serves as the chief training center for Typhoon pilots within the service.

Kensington Palace shared a video capturing the duo examining the aircraft, with the young prince appearing just slightly shorter than his mother, who stands at 5 feet 9 inches tall.

Closely resembling his father, Prince William – who formerly served in the RAF as a search and rescue pilot – a dapper Prince George listened intently as he was shown into the cockpit of an authentic Battle of Britain spitfire.

Wearing a navy blue suit jacket, complemented by a blue collared shirt, the youngster smiled as he inspected the gauges before looking to turn around to the rear of the plane.

Kate, wearing a tailored grey tweed jacket, then had her turn at the controls and was seen afterwards speaking with Squadron Leader Paul ‘Ernie’ Wise.

In a later segment of the video, accompanied by a music soundtrack, the future King stepped into a modern Typhoon, which can reach maximum speeds of Mach 2 (around 1,320mph).

The future King, who will turn 13 next month and is set to attend Eton College in Windsor from September, smiled as he climbed into the cockpit.

George is known to have a penchant for flying and has previously taken private lessons at White Waltham Airfield.

Kensington Palace said the visit to the RAF base was ‘honouring Service and Sacrifice.’

In a message posted on social media, it added: ‘Marking Armed Forces Day by reflecting on time spent with the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight at RAF Coningsby.

‘Learning about the extraordinary history of these aircraft and meeting the pilots and engineers who keep their legacy alive.

‘A powerful reminder of the courage, skill and dedication of those who serve, past and present. Thank you to all those who have served and continue to serve.’

It is understood the Princess of Wales and Prince George visited the site two weeks ago.

RAF Coningsby in Lincolnshire is one of two RAF Quick Reaction Alert Stations which protect UK airspace, alongside RAF Lossiemouth.

Almost 3,000 Service Personnel, Civil Servants, and contractors work at RAF Coningsby.

The royal pair’s visit comes as celebrations take place across the UK on Saturday to mark Armed Forces Day.

Earlier this year, the Ministry of Defence announced it would provide up to £500,000 of funding for Armed Forces Day events across the country.

Mother of Mackenzie Shirilla Speaks Out: Daughter Endures ‘Nightmare’ in Prison

0

Mackenzie Shirilla is grappling with the harsh realities of incarceration, attempting to maintain a semblance of hope from within the confines of her prison cell.

The 21-year-old’s mother, Natalie Shirilla, has provided insight into her daughter’s current psychological state as she embarks on a lengthy sentence of 15 years to life. Mackenzie’s imprisonment is the result of a tragic car crash in 2022 that claimed the lives of her boyfriend, Dominic Russo, and their friend, Davion Flanagan.

“It’s as if she’s ensnared in a nightmare from which she has no recollection,” Natalie explained during the June 24 episode of Chris Cuomo’s Crime Time podcast. She continued, “She’s never been presented with the evidence. She’s never seen the discovery. She’s completely in the dark.”

Mackenzie, who is now at the center of Netflix’s documentary The Crash, faced a tough legal battle that concluded with her conviction. She was found guilty on multiple charges, including four counts of murder, four counts of felonious assault, and two counts of aggravated vehicular homicide.

Natalie’s words paint a picture of a young woman burdened by the weight of irreversible events. “All she knows is that the boyfriend she deeply loved is no longer here, and neither is Davion,” Natalie conveyed. “She was behind the wheel during that fateful accident but remembers nothing of it.”

Natalie learned of Mackenzie’s distressed emotional state in part by the artwork her daughter has been making to pass the time in prison.

“[Mackenzie] does self-portraits of herself where she has…a rose of thorns around her neck or her mouth is sewn shut,” Natalie described. “She’s got all these question marks around her head like, ‘Why, why, why?’”

The interview was released June 24, one day after news broke that Mackenzie’s latest appeal was denied by the Ohio Supreme Court.

Meanwhile, Mackenzie’s father Steve Shirilla has been on the defense for both his daughter and his livelihood.

Days after The Crash premiered in May, Steve’s employers at Mary Queen of Peace School put him on administrative leave amid controversy surrounding parenting comments made in the documentary. He ultimately parted ways with the school.

“I might not ever teach again,” Steve explained in a separate appearance on Crime Time’s June 5 episode. “I’m a good teacher. I’m a passionate teacher.”

Kingsport Man Faces Attempted Murder Charges Following Early Morning Incident

BLOUNTVILLE, Tenn. (WJHL) — Authorities in Sullivan County have charged a Kingsport resident with attempted murder following a dramatic incident in the early hours of Thursday morning in the Orebank area.

The situation unfolded just before 4 a.m., when Sullivan County sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to a residence located in the 200 block of McFarland Drive. They were alerted to a heated argument that escalated when a gunshot was fired.

Upon arrival, deputies discovered that 29-year-old Isaiah Joseph Campbell, a resident of McFarland Drive, was involved in a domestic dispute that took a potentially fatal turn. Authorities reported that Campbell fired a gun at a vehicle, posing a serious risk to a family member standing directly behind the vehicle. Fortunately, there were no injuries, according to the Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office.

In the aftermath, an arrest warrant was quickly issued for Campbell, who had reportedly fled the scene before law enforcement officers could arrive.

Campbell was later found in Russell County, Virginia, by sheriff’s deputies there and taken to the Southwest Virginia Regional Jail in Abingdon, where he remains in custody.

Campbell is facing charges of attempted second-degree murder, aggravated assault, two counts of reckless endangerment with a deadly weapon, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a dangerous felony.

Two Minors Detained for Allegedly Initiating Six-Alarm Blaze Devastating Multiple Pennsylvania Residences

Authorities have detained two children in connection with a destructive fire that engulfed several properties in Pennsylvania, rendering dozens of residents without homes.

The young, unnamed individuals are believed to have started the fire in Allentown late Wednesday evening around 8:45 p.m. The blaze ignited in a derelict warehouse located on Front Street and rapidly spiraled out of control, as reported by WPVI, a local news station.

The intense six-alarm fire leaped across the street, consuming eight houses, six of which were reduced to ruins, displacing seven families in the process, the outlet noted.

The fire allegedly set by two minors left several families homeless. ABC6

According to fire officials, it was the intense heat emitted from the initial blaze, rather than direct flames, that facilitated the spread from the warehouse.

A firefighter sustained mild injuries during the incident, and no other injuries were reported.

Each suspect is facing charges of arson, recklessly endangering another person, conspiracy and causing a catastrophe, the Lehigh County District Attorney announced Friday.

Online Connection Reveals Disturbing Video Threat Prior to Supermarket Tragedy

In 2016, a video posted by YouTuber Randy Stair led one of his online acquaintances to sever their ties. Nearly a year after this incident, Stair committed a tragic workplace shooting at a supermarket in Pennsylvania, cornering and killing three of his co-workers before ending his own life.

“The entire situation was terrifying,” Sammy recounted to News Media. “I felt as though there was a deep sense of betrayal. It was unimaginable that someone I considered such a close friend could create something so personal and share it publicly. I decided to permanently block him after he posted that video about me.”

This tragic case is examined in the Investigation Discovery (ID) true crime series, “Deadly Influence: The Social Media Murders.” The episode entitled “Enter the Ghost World” delves into Stair’s internet habits, his growing obsessions, and the potential red flags that preceded the dire event.

In April 2016, Stair uploaded a video titled “A Promise Kept.” It contained what several mutual friends described as graphic threats against Sammy. In it, Stair described in detail how he intended to kill her. Sammy said she couldn’t understand what had fueled his rage.

The video included an animated “Teenage Girl Missing” poster bearing a drawing that resembled Sammy. By the video’s conclusion, Stair — depicted as Ember McLain from “Danny Phantom”— is shown holding what appears to be Sammy’s severed head.

“You’re gonna pay for what you did to me,” Stair is heard saying in the video. “Mark my words … You’re not safe. … You were once a sweet little girl in my eyes. But that was very short-lived. Just like your very existence.”

Sammy said the video convinced her to permanently end all contact with Stair.

“He would post very cryptic, indirect things on Twitter, but obviously you couldn’t be completely sure,” Sammy said. “And I think we all wanted to keep an eye on him. We would block him and unblock him to look at his account. But after that video went up, that’s when I blocked him for good and ceased all contact.”

Stair launched his YouTube channel, PioneersProductions, around 2008, when he was about 15 years old. Much of his early content consisted of sketch comedy and self-deprecating homemade short films. Sammy discovered the channel when she was about 12 and became a fan. When Stair was about 21, the two began communicating online.

“I think what drew me to his page was how his videos almost felt like home videos,” Sammy said. “I grew up with brothers, so they also liked his videos and related to them. It made Randy relatable to me as a person, not just as a content creator.”

“Our chats mainly started with us talking about his YouTube videos,” Sammy said. “But we both really liked music, and we shared a lot of common interests. I guess I viewed him almost like a big brother. We had a similar sense of humor. He was very friendly in the beginning.”

As Stair’s audience grew, he began posting more personal videos, including behind-the-scenes footage and personal reflections. The episode describes Stair as an introvert who appeared awkward when he wasn’t filming.

“I think when it comes to YouTube or any type of edited media, you have multiple chances to get something right,” Sammy said. “If you don’t like how something is turning out, you can redo it. I think that’s what he liked. He didn’t have to get things perfect. He could have a couple of takes to get things exactly how he wanted. I think that allowed him to express himself more easily than he could in the moment, in real life.”

As Stair’s filmmaking skills improved, his videos took an increasingly dark turn. The goofy sketch comedies and homemade spoofs that once filled his channel gradually disappeared, replaced by melancholy short films and bleak monologues.

Stair’s channel had long featured recurring comedy sketches centered on a frog and a whale. In a video titled “Extinction Series Finale,” the lighthearted characters meet a violent end. Stair is shown repeatedly stabbing them with a knife.

“It was very different from his content before,” Sammy said. “But he also seemed different as a person. He became more distant, tweeted less and became less active on social media. It almost wasn’t the same person who was making those earlier videos.”

“There was a time when he described what would be called suicidal ideation to me,” Sammy said. “But at the time, he said he never felt like he would actually act on those thoughts. Even though he talked to us a lot on social media, when it came to topics like that, he would either deflect or try to reassure us that he would never do something like that.”

As the months passed, Sammy said she noticed changes in Stair’s online behavior. His social media posts became increasingly erratic.

“At times, he would tweet things and then delete them almost immediately or a few minutes later,” Sammy said. “They were usually about his purpose in the world or how he felt lost. But he would reassure everyone that it was just a difficult moment for him and that he was OK.”

Around 2013, Stair became fixated on the character McLain, a ghost rock star from the Nickelodeon animated series. The character soon became the focus of much of Stair’s online activity. He created “Ember’s Ghost Squad,” an animated series inspired by the character, and filled his journals with writings about joining McLain and his own “Ghost Squad” characters after death.

Sammy and other friends said the fixation increasingly dominated Stair’s online identity.

“Honestly, to this day, I don’t really know why he was so drawn to that character,” Sammy said. “I think it could be something as simple as liking the character, the way she looked and her style. Or he could have felt like he related to her backstory somehow. But I really don’t know why he chose that specific character.”

Sammy said they discussed his job at Weis Markets.

“Obviously, he would say that retail isn’t the best place to work, and he didn’t want to be there forever,” Sammy said. “He encouraged me, as a younger person, not to go into retail, but those were things I’d heard all my life from my older siblings and adults. He wasn’t hateful or angry about his job. I never thought he would’ve done something like that, especially there.”

TRUE CRIME HUB

On June 8, 2017, Stair brought two pistol-grip shotguns to work during an overnight shift and blocked the store’s entrances and exits so no one could escape.

Pennsylvania State Police said Stair, 24, fired 59 shots before killing himself. He killed Terry Sterling, 63; Victoria Brong, 25; and Brian Hayes, 47. A fourth co-worker escaped unharmed and called police. Investigators said the victims were working the overnight shift when the shooting unfolded.

Although there is no indication anyone close to Stair could have predicted or prevented the attack, Sammy said she still struggles with those feelings.

“It was devastating,” Sammy said. “I did feel guilty because I wish I had spoken up more about what I saw with him. Several times, when we were in touch, he would post something and take it down, or he would say something, and when I tried to dig deeper, he would deflect. Looking back on it now, there were signs he was in decline.”

Wyoming County District Attorney Jeff Mitchell said Stair left an online trail that included praise for the 1999 Columbine High School shooters and expressions of deep frustration with the world around him, The Associated Press reported.

Today, Sammy said her goal in sharing her story is to encourage people to speak up when someone appears to be in crisis. She hopes others will recognize changes in behavior and seek help if they are concerned about someone’s well-being.

“I think people are sometimes afraid to speak up. And we may not know where to get help. But we have to be vigilant about the world around us.”

Meet Hansjörg Wyss: The Discreet Swiss Billionaire Shaping Global Influence at 88

Conservative watchdogs appear to be orchestrating efforts to characterize a Swiss-born billionaire, who has channeled substantial sums into left-wing US organizations, as “the new George Soros.” This branding centers on the impact and intentions of his financial contributions.

Hansjorg Wyss, aged 88 and residing in Wyoming, holds an impressive estimated fortune of $10 billion. Over recent years, Wyss has contributed more than $800 million to liberal causes, with a significant emphasis on initiatives supporting President Joe Biden’s climate agenda. His financial influence in the political sphere is both substantial and strategically targeted.

Apart from environmental efforts, Wyss’s contributions have been instrumental in campaigns aimed at opposing former President Donald Trump. Notably, his funding was also deployed against the nomination of Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court, marking his engagement in high-stakes political battles.

Voices within conservative circles, like Leonard Leo, a billionaire with connections to Americans for Public Trust, have called for counteractions. In a statement from May, Leo underscored the need for conservatives to rally and match the efforts of figures like Wyss and George Soros, emphasizing the defense of constitutional principles as a rallying point.

Hansjorg Wyss (pictured right), 88, who has an estimated net worth of $10 billion and in lives in Wyoming , has given over $800million to liberal groups in recent years, with particular focus on donations toward President Joe Biden 's climate agenda

Hansjorg Wyss (pictured right) is depicted as an influential figure in the liberal movement. At 88, with an estimated net worth of $10 billion and based in Wyoming, he has contributed over $800 million to causes aligned with President Joe Biden’s climate initiatives, illustrating his prominent role in progressive philanthropy.

Americans For Public Trust recently put out an eight-page paper on Wyss attempting to cast him as a new major anti-conservative donor, according to Bloomberg.

Wyss is worth even more than Soros with $10billion to Soros’ $7billion, the Bloomberg Billionaires Index claims.

The Wyss Foundation has donated over $807million in the United States since 2016, with much of it going to either environmental causes or to support the environmental efforts of Biden’s presidency.

He’s even a part of a $5billion international ‘conservation pledge’ with the likes of Michael Bloomberg and Jeff Bezos.

The foundation has a specific arm for lobbying and political advocacy called the Berger Action Fund, which has donated $343million to groups trying to stop Republican gerrymandering efforts, as well as Dem-aligned super PACs.

In fact, over $60million of the Berger fund’s $72million went to drumming up support for the president’s programs.

The Wyss Foundation and BAF claim that they never directly donate to campaigns or candidates, which is prohibited by federal law as it is believed Wyss is still a Swiss national. Wyss’ daughter Amy has previously served on the board of the Wyss Foundation and is a US-Swiss dual citizen.

Much of the consternation over Wyss’ spending is that he remains tight-lipped about his citizenship status.

Outside of politics, Wyss was involved in the 2022 takeover of the English Premier League’s Chelsea FC after Roman Abramovich was forced out.

Hansjorg Wyss: The low-profile Swiss billionaire who became a force in US politics

Born in the Swiss capital of Bern in 1935, Wyss was raised in an apartment with his two sisters.

He received a master’s degree in civil and structural engineering from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich in 1959 before going on to earn an MBA from Harvard six years later.

After spells in textile engineering – including in different roles for car manufacturer Chrysler in Pakistan, Turkey and the Philippines – he worked in the steel industry and ran a side business selling planes.

Through that side focus, Wyss met a surgeon who had co-founded Synthes, a medical device manufacturer. Spotting an opportunity, the Swiss founded and became president of Synthes USA in 1977.

He was Synthes’ worldwide CEO and chairman until his resignation as CEO in 2007, and was company chairman until Johnson & Johnson – the medical company which developed a Covid vaccine – acquired the company five years later for $19.7 billion.

In 2008, he donated $125 million to Harvard University, in what was then the largest donation in its history.

But he has generated controversy for his funding of groups looking to exert behind-the-scenes influence on American politics.

These include the Hub Project, which seeks to ‘dramatically shift the public debate and policy positions of core decision makers’ by influencing media and public opinion in a ‘progressive’ direction.

Perhaps most controversially, his group has admitted giving $208 million to the left-leaning Sixteen Thirty Fund.

The Republican-led House Ways and Means Committee are considering targeting Wyss by making laws banning foreign nationals from launching advocacy groups tax-free. It has the support of 127 Republicans in the House of Representatives.

Regardless, questions remain about whether Wyss has operated completely above board in his funding.

In a lawsuit filed in 2022, APT challenged Wyss’ donations with regard to his citizenship, accusing the Federal Election Commission of acting too slowly on a complaint it filed against Wyss in May 2021.

‘Americans for Public Trust is suing the FEC for failing to investigate foreign money in our elections,’ Sutherland told The Hill at the time.

‘Mr. Wyss, who is barred from directly or indirectly influencing our elections, has done just that by potentially funneling hundreds of millions of dollars through the Arabella Advisors network to benefit liberal and left-wing causes,’ she added.

‘Until the FEC takes action, we won’t know the full extent of his foreign interference in our electoral process.’

Spokespersons for Wyss have repeatedly insisted that his donations are permissible, and go only toward causes he believes in, rather than supporting political candidates.

Wyss also put together a failed takeover bid in 2021 to buy Tribune Publishing, the company behind the Chicago Tribune, New York Daily News, and numerous other US newspapers.

A New York Times article that same year noted that Wyss had ‘quietly become one of the most important donors to left-leaning advocacy groups and an increasingly influential force among Democrats.’

As well, his sister Hedi Wyss wrote in a 2014 book about her brother that he ‘he never applied for citizenship’ in the US, according to RealClearPolitics.

‘What was important for him was to find out that he could exert influence through his foundations,’ she added.

The Americans for Public Trust lawsuit cited a 2021 Securities and Exchange Commission filing in which Wyss listed his citizenship as a ‘citizen of Switzerland’.

It also quoted from an interview Wyss gave Bick in 2021, in which he said that he ‘can’t’ donate to American political candidates.

The suit alleges that Wyss used his two nonprofit organizations, the Wyss Foundation and the Berger Action Fund, to funnel millions to the Sixteen Thirty Fund and the New Venture Fund.

The recipients of the funds were so-called dark money groups that fund liberal causes through advocacy groups including The Hub Project and Demand Justice, according to the suit.

The suit alleges that if some of the funds went to campaigns opposing or supporting election candidates, Wyss could be in violation of federal election laws.

According to the Times, the Wyss’ two non-profits from 2016 to 2020 donated $208 million to ‘a wide array of groups that backed progressive causes and helped Democrats in their efforts to win the White House and control of Congress.’

Wyss dismissed the report in an interview with Bick, calling the Times reporter ‘a well-known conservative editor who keeps writing fact-less articles.’

A native of Switzerland who now lives in Wilson, Wyoming, Wyss first came to America as an exchange student in 1958.

He later returned to attend the Harvard Business School, from which he graduated in 1965.

In 1977, Wyss founded Synthes USA, a medical device manufacturer that makes implants to mend bone fractures.

He sold the company to Johnson & Johnson in 2012 in a deal worth $19.7 billion, but still holds stakes in biotech firms NovoCure and Molecular Partners.

Previously, several former Synthes executives were jailed after the firm’s use of an untested medical procedure led to the deaths of three people.

Wyss was not charged or named by prosecutors, but an indictment made reference to the ‘CEO of Synthes’ – a position he held at the time.

Forbes considers Wyss as ‘among the most philanthropic people in the world’, and he has donated hundreds of millions of dollars to environmental charities and universities.

In 2013, he signed The Giving Pledge, thereby agreeing to give away the majority of his fortune. Other moguls to have signed the pledge include Elon Musk, Mark Zuckerberg and Warren Buffett.

Taylor Swift’s Unanswered Messages to Travis Kelce Reveal Early Romance Hurdles

0

The love story between Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce began much like a scene from a Hollywood romance or a verse from one of her heartfelt ballads.

During the summer of 2023, the NFL star took a bold step, declaring his interest in meeting the world-famous singer. This happened while she was performing at his Kansas City stadium as part of her massive Eras world tour.

Kelce recounted on his podcast, New Heights, how he devised a daring plan to hand Swift a friendship bracelet, a favorite accessory among her devoted Swiftie fanbase, with his phone number discreetly spelled out in beads.

Unfortunately, his plan didn’t work out. He shared his frustration on the podcast, explaining that Swift couldn’t chat before or after her performances because she needed to conserve her voice for the extensive 44-song setlist.

However, Kelce’s candid admission of disappointment on-air unexpectedly turned the tide in his favor, proving to be the key factor in capturing Swift’s attention.

As she recalled last August: ‘This kind of felt more like I was in an 80s John Hughes movie, and he was just standing outside of my window with a boombox being like, “I want to date you!”‘

But, three years later and with a 10-carat ring on Swift’s finger, as the couple now prepare to tie the knot this summer, sources have told the Daily Mail how the fairytale America knows all too well almost failed to become anything more than a fling.

Swift and Kelce got engaged in August last year

Swift and Kelce got engaged in August last year

For, once he eventually met Swift, we hear from multiple sources that Kelce allegedly had a ‘no-strings-attached’ mentality in those first few summer months.

‘He wasn’t looking for anything serious – that’s for sure,’ one insider said. ‘He was dating other people at the same time before they went public.’

A second source confirmed: ‘He was definitely still dating around [in the beginning].’

Our insiders are careful to note, however, that Kelce and Swift were not ‘exclusive’ until September 2023, when the Grammy winner made her debut at Arrowhead Stadium alongside Kelce’s mother, Donna Kelce – so there was no cheating involved on either side. Before Swift’s appearance in stands, the pair had only been dating casually, in secret.

Of course, part of the reason the Kansas City Chiefs tight end may have shown initial hesitation is because he had only been ‘on the market’ for a year when met Swift, following a 2022 split from model Kayla Nicole, Kelce’s girlfriend of five years.

One source suggested that Kelce initially thought the friendship bracelet move was more of a ‘joke’ and didn’t actually ‘think it was going to go anywhere.’ And three other insiders claimed that, in those early days, Kelce would be slow to respond to Swift’s texts at times.

‘[He wasn’t avoiding her], but you’re not going to be pressed onto something if you’re not looking for something serious,’ a source said. ‘He just wasn’t pursuing her heavily. He’s a football player!’

‘Travis wasn’t looking for anything serious and once you get into the Taylor world, it’s instantly serious,’ said another insider.

Indeed, it’s a practiced model: once a man is photographed on a date with Swift, swarms of paparazzi begin to follow her and this potential new suitor’s every move. Though it seems Kelce has ultimately embraced his newfound fame.

‘It’s the life I chose, I guess,’ he told CBS Mornings in September 2024 after a year of dating Swift. ‘I have fun with it, it comes with the territory of wanting to do fun stuff like this and signing up for cool sponsorships like this and endorsements.’

Swift herself has said she had reservations about dating a pro athlete

Swift herself has said she had reservations about dating a pro athlete

And to Swift’s credit, she too has admitted to being on the fence about dating the football star.

‘I had been very non-athlete,’ she said in her December documentary, Taylor Swift: The End of an Era. ‘Because I’m not one, and I’ve always just been like, “Well, what would we talk about?”‘

In fact, it was Swift’s mother Andrea who gave her daughter the nudge to make of go of things with Kelce. Andrea, 68, has told how she rang her cousin, who was familiar with the NFL player and sang his praises, saying: ‘He’s the nicest guy… and he really loves his mom.’

‘I thought it was the sweetest thing in the world that he came to your show, he brought you something from your world,’ Andrea said in Swift’s documentary. ‘To me, that really said a lot. So, I thought that was really sweet, and I liked it.’

But Swift’s mother apparently wasn’t the only one involved in the matchmaking. Two insiders claim that Swift’s former friend Keleigh Teller, wife of actor Miles, played a key role.

Keleigh, 33, had been close with the singer for nearly a decade in 2023, and she was also friendly with Kelce through her husband. As such, she acted as a ‘go-between’ for the new couple in the early days of their romance, one source claimed.

Eventually, of course, Swift and Kelce fell head over heels, and needed no help in pursuing each other more deeply.

‘Taylor continued to be a real presence and the family got to know her in the different football suites, and then they started socializing in the off season,’ a source said. ‘I think it was just time together that brought them closer.’

Indeed, the lovebirds were soon spotted hand-in-hand on date nights around the globe, with Swift often supporting Kelce at his Kansas City Chiefs games and he at her Eras Tour shows.

Now, the pair are set to marry on July 3.

A source has previously told the Daily Mail that New York City’s Madison Square Garden arena is likely to be the venue, though the A-list couple have largely been successful in keeping much of their planning under wraps.

We hear that even some guests have been kept in the dark about specifics.

But if one thing’s for sure, when they both wholeheartedly say ‘I do’ next week, it will be clear that any pangs uncertainty have well and truly been forgotten.

The Daily Mail has contacted Swift and Kelce’s representatives for comment.

Discover If ‘Project Hail Mary’ Features a Post-Credits Scene

For those who dashed out of the theater as soon as the credits of Project Hail Mary began to roll, rest assured—you didn’t miss a sudden sequel announcement or any hidden Marvel-style teaser.

The Ryan Gosling-led sci-fi adventure has emerged as one of the year’s major hits, sparking curiosity among audiences about potential surprises tucked away in the credits. While post-credit scenes are becoming a staple in Hollywood blockbusters, Project Hail Mary opts for a different storytelling style.

This film stands out by not including a classic post-credits scene. However, for those who had the patience to watch until the very final moment, a delightful Easter egg awaits—one that will surely bring a smile to fans of the film’s clever, spider-like extraterrestrial character, Rocky.

Here’s what you need to know.

Does Project Hail Mary Have A Post-Credits Scene?

No, Project Hail Mary does not feature a mid-credits or post-credits scene.

Once the movie reaches its heartfelt conclusion, that’s the end of Ryland Grace’s story. There aren’t any extra scenes teasing a sequel, revealing another mission, or setting up a larger franchise.

That said, the filmmakers did sneak in one final easter egg for audiences who stayed in their seats through the entire credits.

What Is The Project Hail Mary Post-Credits Easter Egg?

There’s no bonus scene waiting after the credits, but the movie does save one last callback for its closing moments.

When the MGM logo appears at the very end, the studio’s famous lion doesn’t let out its signature roar. Instead, viewers hear the lion “chitter” in Eridian — the musical language spoken by Rocky throughout the film.

It’s a brief audio gag, but a fitting sendoff for one of the movie’s biggest scene-stealers and a sweet wink to the friendship at the heart of Project Hail Mary.

Will There Be A Project Hail Mary 2?

Nothing has been announced just yet.

The film adapts Andy Weir‘s bestselling 2021 novel, which tells a complete story from beginning to end. While Project Hail Mary has been a major theatrical hit, Amazon MGM Studios hasn’t revealed any plans for a sequel.

Of course, Hollywood has surprised audiences before, but for now, fans shouldn’t expect another adventure with Ryland Grace anytime soon.

Michigan Parents Face Murder Charges Following Tragic Death of 7-Year-Old Weighing 255 Pounds

In Grand Rapids, Michigan, a tragic case has emerged involving two parents who are now facing severe legal consequences. Damien and Jessica O’Brien have been charged with second-degree murder following the heart-wrenching death of their 7-year-old son due to extreme obesity.

According to documents released by the Genesee County Prosecutor’s Office, the couple is confronting a total of five criminal charges related to the death of their son, Casper. The young boy stood at 50.5 inches tall but alarmingly weighed 255 pounds at the time of his passing.

The serious nature of the charges underscores the gravity of the situation, with both parents accused of one count of second-degree murder, one count of torture, and three counts of second-degree child abuse.

Casper tragically passed away on November 4, 2025. Genesee County Prosecutor David Leyton informed WJRT that emergency services were dispatched to the family’s residence in Flint Township, but unfortunately, Casper succumbed at the hospital. The cause of death was identified as dilated cardiomyopathy, a condition exacerbated by severe obesity.

The U.S. Centers for Disease Control & Prevention estimates that a boy of Casper’s height, which falls near the upper growth percentile for 7-year-olds, should ideally weigh between 40 and 70 pounds. This stark difference highlights the critical health issues that plagued the young child.

Leyton called it a case of “cruel and extreme suffering … caused by the neglect of the parents.”

Investigators determined that the family has health insurance but neglected their son’s health issues. Casper was considered “immobile” when first responders arrived on the day he died.

“This child did not have a pediatrician, was only taken to the doctor I believe, according to the police report, once,” Leyton said.

According to Casper’s obituary, he also has a 5-year-old sister and another of the couple’s children had previously died.

“None of these kids even existed in the eyes of the government. CPS had never been out there, nobody knew about these kids, they had not been to school,” Leyton told WJRT. “I can’t think of what else this is, other than extraordinary, terrible neglect. And to me, this is willful and wanton misconduct, which is second-degree murder.”

One of the child abuse charges is related to the younger sister. Charging documents say when officers arrived at the home, the girl, who is also “morbidly overweight,” had knots in her hair and was “dirty” and running outside without any clothes.

In Michigan, a charge of second-degree murder is punishable by up to life in prison.

New Parkland Basketball Coach Eager to Build on Winning Streak

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WCIA) — Following two successful seasons under the leadership of John Bowler, known for taking the team to consecutive national championship games, Parkland is ushering in a new era with Jimmie Daly at the helm.

Daly steps up as head coach after spending two seasons contributing to the Cobras’ coaching staff. He assumes the position as Bowler moves on, marking Daly’s first opportunity to lead a team.

Eager to make the role his own, Daly draws from his experiences observing Bowler and other influential coaches. This venture represents a significant milestone in his coaching career.

“The most important thing is developing these young players into mature, responsible adults,” Daly remarked. “Beyond that, continuing Parkland’s storied tradition of success is crucial. With our resources, supportive administration, and overall school environment, we are well-equipped to compete at the highest level in our Division II JUCO.”

Daly is a graduate of UNLV, where he got his start as a student manager and then graduate assistant under (now Iowa State head coach) TJ Otzelberger and (now Illinois assistant) Kevin Kruger.

Ahead of his inaugural season, Daly is set to return the bulk of last season’s national championship roster.

“I plan on trying to go back to back,” he said. “All our returners are texting me back and forth and just saying, ‘Hey, coach, we’re ready to go.’”

Parkland defeated Ellsworth Community College in the NJCAA DII National Championship game, winning the program’s first national title in exactly 40 years.
