Shocking Scheme: Individual Allegedly Feigns Injuries in Ambulance for U.S. Entry

0

In a startling case that highlights the lengths to which some will go to exploit U.S. resources, an illegal immigrant from Romania devised an audacious scheme to enter the United States. Marius Catalin Trica, who has been at the center of multiple smuggling incidents, orchestrated his latest entry by feigning injuries to hitch a ride on a Mexican ambulance, aiming to gain access to an American hospital.

This brazen attempt to cross the southern border is not the first for Trica, who has a history of illegal entries into the U.S. Last November, he faced the consequences of his fraudulent actions when he pleaded guilty to bank fraud in federal court. Consequently, he was sentenced to 18 months in prison for his involvement in a scheme to steal food stamp benefits, targeting one of America’s most vulnerable populations.

A photograph obtained exclusively by – News depicts the fabricated injuries Trica used to deceive authorities and facilitate his entry. This image serves as a powerful reminder of the deceptive tactics employed in such cross-border smuggling operations.

Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) has been vigilant in addressing these crimes. Eddy Wang, a spokesperson for HSI, emphasized the agency’s dedication to both prosecuting offenders and safeguarding U.S. citizens from international fraud schemes. “Our HSI special agents are committed to not only bringing criminals like this to justice but also ensuring that our most vulnerable citizens are protected from the global reach of fraud,” Wang stated.

“Our Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) special agents are committed to not only bring criminals like this to justice, but to ensure our most vulnerable citizens are protected from the global reach of fraud,” HSI’s Eddy Wang said in a statement.

Trica, along with his co-conspirators, imported skimming devices and fraudulent IDs into the U.S., using them to skim Americans’ financial data and use cloned cards with EBT account numbers, belonging to Americans, to withdraw money from ATMs in Los Angeles, California.

Heartwarming Rescue: 33 Dogs Saved from Overcrowded U-Haul and SUV

MURRIETA, Calif. (KTLA) — In a disturbing case of animal cruelty, authorities have apprehended a suspect following the discovery of 21 dogs confined within a U-Haul truck.

On May 1, Murrieta police officers were called to investigate reports of an abandoned vehicle with two dogs trapped inside the cab, located on the 41000 block of Guava Street, around 6:30 p.m.

Upon arrival, officers were alarmed by the sounds of multiple dogs barking from within the truck’s cargo hold.

Inside the cargo area, they found 21 Cavalier King Charles Spaniels, several of which were pregnant. The compartment lacked both ventilation and air conditioning, raising serious concerns for the animals’ welfare.

Police noted that many of the dogs appeared to be neglected, suffering from matted fur and limited access to food and water, highlighting the dire conditions they were subjected to.

Officers later learned the animals had been left inside the enclosed vehicle for several hours. Each dog was safely removed and transferred to an animal control vehicle.

While officers were at the scene, the dogs’ owner eventually arrived in an SUV, which contained an additional 12 dogs.

The suspect, who was not identified, was arrested on charges related to animal cruelty, animal abandonment and leaving animals unattended in a vehicle.

On May 27, the person was charged by the Riverside County District Attorney’s Office with 21 felony counts of animal cruelty and two misdemeanor charges.

All 33 dogs were transported to Animal Friends of the Valleys in Lake Elsinore, where they were evaluated and received veterinary care.

The dogs will remain in the organization’s care and custody as they continue their recovery and rehabilitation.

“The Murrieta Police Department extends its appreciation to Friends of AFV and community members whose assistance helped bring this incident to light and ensured the safety and well-being of the animals involved,” the police department said.

Tragic Loss: California Students Fatally Swept Out to Sea by Treacherous Waves While Asleep

0

In a tragic incident in California, two college students lost their lives after being swept into the Pacific Ocean by rising tides and strong surf. The incident occurred while they were apparently resting near a well-known yet hazardous beach access point, as confirmed by local authorities.

The Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Office identified the victims as Harshita Nair, 21, and Mahial Sran, 20, both residents of Fremont, according to reports from local news sources.

Authorities believe the two friends were napping close to the “Keyhole,” a natural archway that leads to Yellow Bank Beach. On Wednesday afternoon, the rising tides unexpectedly pulled them into the ocean.

“We suspect that both individuals were asleep near the Keyhole, a location known for catching people off guard,” Captain Kyle Breton of the Santa Cruz County Volunteer Fire Department stated in a CAL FIRE video following the rescue operation. “The tides came in, and tragically, they swept away two individuals who were asleep at the time.”

Officials reported that the CAL FIRE SCU Alma Helitack Copter 614 was used to airlift one of the victims from the beach up to the bluffs. (Source: Facebook/CAL FIRE CZU San Mateo-Santa Cruz Unit)

Emergency crews rushed to the remote stretch of coastline after a witness called 911. About eight rescue swimmers entered the rough surf as part of a multi-agency rescue effort involving CAL FIRE, state lifeguards and local fire departments, officials said.

One woman was pulled ashore at Panther Beach, where rescuers immediately began life-saving efforts. The second was located farther down the shoreline and airlifted from Yellow Bank Beach by a CAL FIRE helicopter while CPR was underway, according to first responders.

Both women were rushed to hospitals but were later pronounced dead, KSBW reported.

Nair was a legal studies major at the University of California, Berkeley, while Sran studied public health at San José State University. Both women graduated from Fremont’s Washington High School in 2023 and were expected to complete their degrees in 2027, according to the New York Post.

“I have no idea what happened,” Nair’s father, Ahock Nair, told the Post. “I’m still in shock.”

The tragedy unfolded along a notoriously hazardous stretch of Santa Cruz County coastline known for steep surf, strong currents and so-called “sneaker waves” that can surge far beyond the waterline with little warning.

Officials said Wednesday’s rescue was the fifth water rescue in the past month along the one-mile stretch between Yellow Bank Beach and Bonny Doon Beach.

The deaths also came as powerful surf and dangerous ocean conditions battered California’s coastline. Forecasters had warned of strong rip currents and large waves generated by a long-period southern swell, conditions that officials say have contributed to a rise in water rescues across the state.

New Beginnings: Marshawn Kneeland Welcomes Baby Amidst Heartfelt Memories of Late Ex-Cowboy

0

Marshawn Kneeland, a defensive end for the Cowboys, tragically passed away last November. His girlfriend, Catalina Mancera, recently celebrated the birth of their child.

Mancera took to Instagram on Monday to announce the arrival of their baby, Makhai, who was born on June 11. She posted heartwarming photos of the newborn dressed in a onesie adorned with an image of Kneeland sporting his Dallas Cowboys jersey.

In her post, Mancera expressed her emotions with the words, “My favorite gift from you 🤍.”

Among the shared memories was a poignant video showing the moment she revealed a positive pregnancy test to Kneeland.

Earlier, Mancera had informed her social media followers about her expected due date in June.

Kneeland was selected 56th overall in the second round of the 2024 NFL Draft by the Cowboys.

He died by suicide at the age of 24 in November following a police pursuit on Dallas Parkway near Warren Parkway, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.

Kneeland was found dead from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound, according to Frisco police — who said they received information during their pursuit that Kneeland had expressed suicidal ideations.

According to 911 dispatch audio obtained by TMZ Sports, an operator stated that Kneeland’s girlfriend said she received a concerning message from him and was trying to contact the defensive end’s agent.

A 911 operator said on the audio that his girlfriend stated that Kneeland was armed, had a history of mental illness — and she quoted him as saying he would “end it all.”

The incident took place two days after Kneeland played 17 snaps during the Cowboys’ 27-17 loss to the Cardinals.

Family of Reagan Simmons Hancock Pledges to Honor Her Legacy Following Tragic Loss

0

The untimely death of Reagan Simmons Hancock has ignited a passionate commitment from her family to ensure her tragic end serves a greater purpose.

In response to Hancock’s 2020 murder, her family is championing legislative reforms aimed at enhancing the safety of expectant mothers. Tragically, Hancock fell victim to a brutal attack by Taylor Parker, a friend who had once captured her wedding moments. Parker attempted a horrifying plan to claim Hancock’s unborn child as her own by forcefully removing the baby, as detailed in court documents.

Featuring in Netflix’s series Maternal Instinct, Parker now awaits the scheduling of her execution on Texas’ death row following her conviction for capital murder.

Reagan Simmons Hancock’s Family, Filmmaker Advocate For Legal Changes

Hancock’s family holds the conviction that the tragedy might have been averted, particularly since some individuals, including Parker’s medical professionals, were aware of her inability to conceive due to a previous hysterectomy.

“There should have been a way that something else could have been done,” expressed her sister Emily Shirey in an interview with People.

Maternal Instinct’s filmmaker Jessica Dimmock also told the news outlet that the current privacy laws in place prevented doctors from revealing what they knew to end the ruse before lives were lost.

“The law really failed this family,” Dimmock said. “Doctors can’t go breaking laws. The laws exist for a reason, but it’s a real failure to see something happening and know that you’re not allowed to do anything about it. And I’m so hopeful that this will inform and possibly change further outcomes. I just really hope that this also shines light on things that are designed to protect us that can also end up having irreparable damage.”

Fetal abductions remain rare, making up just 6 percent of the total number of infant abductions, according to data from the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children. Between 1987 and 2020, there were 21 cases of fetal abductions, or cesarean abductions, reported to the missing person agency.

Still, Dimmrock believes pregnant woman are particularly vulnerable to becoming victims of violence.

“Having the law not just be thinking about the unborn or recently born, but also the mother that is carrying that child and what danger she could be in also feels like a huge gap in the law here and a tragically missed moment,” she told the outlet.  “It wasn’t just Braxlynn who was in danger here, it was Reagan as well.”

Hancock’s family decided to share her story and participate in the documentary to shine a light on the gaps in current legislation.

“We don’t want this to just be another true-crime movie that all the binge watchers want to go see because they heard about the crime,” Shirey explained to People. “We want people to watch it so they say, ‘Oh, this is why the family is pushing so hard to get laws passed.’”

If they are able to make changes to protect more pregnant mothers, Shirey noted, “Then my sister’s murder will not have been in vain.”

Taylor Parker Faked Pregnancy Before Murder

For months, Parker lied about being pregnant, according to the court records, holding an elaborate gender reveal party, picking out a name for her baby and posing for maternity photos.

Yet, there were some in Parker’s life who knew that she couldn’t possibly be pregnant.

Her OB/GYN Dr. Christopher Mason explained in Maternal Instinct that he was prevented from revealing what he knew about her fertility status because of privacy laws.

“We felt like she had to come up with a baby somehow,” Mason said. “So for the safety of the rest of our patients and our nursery, we did alert the hospital to be on higher alert, what was called Code Pink.”

Stephanie Ott—a friend of Parker’s fiancé Wade Griffin—also tried to sound the alarm after growing suspicious while planning Parker’s gender reveal party. She explained in the documentary that she noticed that the paperwork Parker provided her had a date of 2016, years before the supposed pregnancy.

When Ott called the women’s clinic to try to find out more, the office manager told her that while she couldn’t give out specific patient data, she should “just go with your gut.”

Ott even took it a step further by speaking with Parker’s former friend and mother, who both confirmed that Parker had a hysterectomy years earlier. As Ott explained in the documentary, she shared what she learned with Griffin’s mom and even Griffin himself—but Parker always found a way to refute the claims, often falsely labeling her mother as a liar and a vindictive villain in her life.

Parker’s lies were so convincing that even Hancock herself stood up for Parker as rumors began to spread around town about the pregnancy being fake.

“I can remember it vividly. We were walking out of the doctor’s office and Reagan gets a message on her phone and she’s just like, ugh, and I said, ‘Well, what’s wrong?” Hancock’s mother Jessica Brookes recalled in Maternal Instinct. “She said, ‘Oh, people are giving Taylor a hard time, trying to tell her that she’s not really pregnant and you know, she’s lying.’”

It all led to Hancock’s brutal murder on Oct. 9, 2020. Parker—who was feeling pressure to produce a baby after her supposed due date came and went—brutally attacked Hancock causing more than 100 sharp force injuries and 39 blunt force injuries before cutting the baby from her womb, per court records.

Parker was arrested later that day after she was pulled over in a traffic stop with the baby in her lap. Although she claimed she had just given birth herself, the doctors at the hospital confirmed she hadn’t, according to the documentary.

The baby, who Hancock had planned to name Braxlynn Sage, died at the hospital.

Bungee Jump Operators Questioned Following Fatal Incident Involving Woman

0

The tragic incident involving three bungee jump workers accused of causing the death of a young Brazilian woman has taken a new turn, as interrogation footage of the suspects has now been released. The trio is being questioned about their alleged roles in the fatal incident.

Maria Eduarda Rodrigues de Freitas, a 21-year-old aspiring physical education teacher, tragically fell to her death from the Skeleton Bridge in Limeira, São Paulo, last Saturday. Disturbing video footage captured the moment she was reportedly pushed by her bungee jumping instructors.

The newly available interrogation videos reveal the three men discussing their alleged participation in the event and expressing remorse over the tragedy.

Their reactions during questioning varied, with some appearing somber while others seemed indifferent. One of the men, notably still wearing braces, maintained his innocence, claiming he was not involved in the fatal incident.

According to statements made to authorities, Luis Felipe Feliciano Egoroff, 32, who was the instructor holding Freitas from the front, explained that he and 42-year-old Maicon Fernandes Cintra were in charge of securing the rope.

‘It’s him or me who does that,’ he said in the interrogation, which was reported by EPTV.

But then, Egoroff repeatedly insisted that he could not recall any other details of what transpired leading up to Freitas’ fatal fall.

‘I went to the front first,’ he said. ‘After that, it erased it from my mind. I can’t remember.’

One of the instructors, 32-year-old Luis Felipe Feliciano Egoroff, insisted that he did not remember what happened before Freitas’ death

Cintra told authorities that he had been the instructor at Freitas’ feet at the time of the incident.

He explained that the the group’s roles varied when it came to their rope jump operation.

‘In the procedure, sometimes I’m the one who places the rope [on the person], sometimes it’s Felipe,’ Cintra told authorities.

Cintra appeared to be looking towards the ground for most of his interrogation.

The instructor said the jumping equipment was ‘visible’ and that it was difficult to comprehend how the mistake leading to Freitas’ tragic death had not been spotted.

‘It’s us three on the job,’ he said. ‘I can’t understand at what moment I didn’t see the rope.’

Moments later, he added: ‘I simply cannot understand.’

Another instructor, 42-year-old Maicon Fernandes Cintra, told authorities that he 'simply cannot understand' how the equipment error that led to Freitas' death had not been sighted

Vitor de Freitas Gonçalves, 27, claimed he had only been called over to help with lifting the woman.

When he was asked where the GoPro camera that Freitas was holding in her hand was, Gonçalves said: ‘Right, yeah. We don’t know.’

Freitas was apparently given a GoPro camera to document her descent just moments before her death.

Authorities believe that the missing camera could have the footage leading up to Freitas’ fatal fall over the weekend.

Local pedagogist Rafael Goulart, who was waiting in line when Freitas was tossed to her death, claimed one of the workers had approached her motionless body after the fall.

‘They were worried about the equipment, either to hide evidence or because of its financial value,’ Goulart told TV Globo.

Andrea Dantas Levy, the police chief in charge of the case, said Monday that the camera may have been taken and that no one had explained where it was during questioning.

‘Honestly, I don’t think it’s still there, given the number of people who came to the bridge later to look for it,’ Levy said.

‘I believe that, unfortunately, someone may have taken the camera,’ she added.

This is a breaking news story. More to come.

Unmissable HBO Classics: Ranking the Top 5 Game-Changing TV Shows of All Time

0

HBO, the premium cable channel known for its bold storytelling, recently concluded its journey with the show “Euphoria.” Debuting in 2019, the series experienced notable creative highs and lows throughout its run. Yet, “Euphoria” exemplified the kind of daring programming few networks, even among other premium channels, would risk producing. This willingness to push boundaries is part of HBO’s legacy, built over decades of original content that has often been hailed as some of the finest television. From “Curb Your Enthusiasm” to “Sharp Objects” and “Big Little Lies,” HBO has consistently redefined the storytelling landscape.

With such a vast array of shows under its belt, it’s pertinent to consider this: Which HBO programs have been the most pivotal in the network’s history? Which shows have shaped the HBO brand and public perception? The following five programs, ranked from least to most significant, showcase the diversity of art and narrative that HBO embraces. They represent a collection of works that have each redefined the types of projects HBO has championed.

These groundbreaking series have left an indelible mark not only on HBO but on the television industry as a whole. Each of these five shows transformed HBO as a network and, more broadly, revolutionized television as an artistic medium.

Released in collaboration with Sky Atlantic, “Chernobyl” premiered in May 2019 without much initial hype. Nevertheless, this exceptional miniseries quickly captured significant attention. The five-episode series developed a dedicated following, captivated by its exploration of governmental deceit, its haunting ambiance, and its powerful performances. These elements propelled “Chernobyl” into a must-watch phenomenon.

The intense, unsettling scenes in “Chernobyl” cemented its status as a bold project, destined to dominate the awards scene. Its triumph arrived at a pivotal moment for HBO, as “Game of Thrones” was concluding just as “Chernobyl” began. This critically acclaimed miniseries proved that HBO could still produce major hits beyond the world of Westeros. Furthermore, Craig Mazin, the head writer and creator of “Chernobyl,” would become an integral figure for HBO in the years to come.

5. Chernobyl

A collaboration with the Sky Atlantic network, “Chernobyl” was released in May 2019 with minimal fanfare. It didn’t take long, though, for this outstanding project to pick up major steam. Very quickly, this five-episode miniseries garnered a notable fanbase that was profoundly invested in this program. The timely relevance of this project’s central storylines (which concerned what happens when governments prioritize lies over all else), its evocative atmosphere, and compelling performances all ensured that the show became a steady viewership juggernaut. People just had to see what was going on with this buzzy endeavor.

Elements like the most disturbing scenes in “Chernobyl” solidified this project as a gutsy enterprise whose eventual domination on the award season circuit was inevitable. This tremendous success came at just the right time in HBO’s history. “Game of Thrones” was wrapping up as “Chernobyl” premiered, and this must-see miniseries ensured that HBO could still deliver new hit shows beyond Westeros. More importantly, “Chernobyl” head writer and series creator Craig Mazin would become crucial to this network in the years that followed.

Not only was Mazin the creative mastermind behind “The Last of Us,” but HBO has also hired him to create a “Baldur’s Gate” program for the network. Mazin has become a vital genre storytelling voice for the platform, and his essential relationship with HBO can be traced back to his unforgettable work realizing the sleeper hit “Chernobyl.”

4. True Detective

HBO was no stranger to acclaimed limited series before “True Detective” premiered in 2014. “Mildred Pierce,” “Band of Brothers,” and “John Adams” were just a few examples of the revered miniseries programs that this network delivered prior to “Detective” hitting the airwaves. However, the immense popularity and cultural impact of “True Detective” forever altered HBO’s programming strategy. For the next decade, the miniseries would be an inescapable fixture of HBO’s exploits. Previously, HBO had only done one or two miniseries a year, but by 2019, it would house several different limited-run shows that ranged from “Chernobyl” to “Watchmen.”

Meanwhile, “True Detective” leading men Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson scoring such rich roles on television helped upend long-standing norms that movie stars should avoid the small screen at all costs. The road to “I Know This Much Is True” being led by Mark Ruffalo or Kate Winslet anchoring “Mare of Easttown” was paved by “True Detective.” Meanwhile, the entire rural dark mystery aesthetic of the series has remained influential on subsequent HBO productions. The Missouri backdrop of “Sharp Objects,” for instance, echoes the “True Detective” tableaus.

Most notably, the “Lanterns” marketing campaign has evoked “True Detective” (with its grim tone, Southern setting, and emphasis on a grim mystery) far more than “Superman” in atmosphere and visuals. Even DC superhero shows are caught in the “True Detective” gravitational pull. This was far from the first HBO miniseries, but it’s the network’s most influential, considering it keeps reverberating through HBO’s shows.

3. Game of Thrones

The original “Game of Thrones” unaired pilot is infamous. Hailing from director Tom McCarthy, the whole thing backfired so poorly that HBO went back to the drawing board entirely. Series creators David Benioff and D.B. Weiss were appalled by how poorly this episode had been realized, so they had no problem with a creative overhaul. Adapting George R.R. Martin’s “A Song of Ice and Fire” books wasn’t as easy a task as it may have seemed on paper. For a moment, it looked like “Game of Thrones” would be a massive misfire for HBO. Eventually, though, a better series premiere was cobbled together, and “Game of Thrones” found its legs and then some.

In the seasons that followed, countless “Game of Thrones” moments stunned audiences and left people across the globe chattering about what an incredible program this was. Just a few years into its run, “Game of Thrones” reached unprecedented levels of popularity for an HBO show. By the time the series finale grabbed a staggering amount of eyeballs, it was apparent “Game of Thrones” had forever altered HBO’s history. To boot, this show established that the network could flourish in the genre television space. It wasn’t just grounded mobster and relationship stories where HBO’s television could excel.

Fantasy and dragon-oriented sagas also now had a place on this network. Subsequent HBO shows like “Lanterns” and “Dune: Prophecy” would’ve been unthinkable in a pre-“Game of Thrones” world, or even when that pilot first came in.

2. Sex and the City

When it comes to “Sex and the City” and its popularity, let’s take a cue from Salt-N-Pepa and “talk about sex.” This show could engage in far more candid discussions of intimacy or relationships than any broadcast network program constrained by Standards & Practices restrictions. In 1998, when “Sex and the City” first premiered, programs like “Home Improvement” and “Jesse,” with their very clean-cut visions of reality, were dominating the airwaves. Meanwhile, Carrie Bradshaw (Sarah Jessica Parker) and friends provided a dose of realism in their frank exchanges that allowed viewers to truly see themselves and their friend groups on the small screen.

The tremendous success of “Sex and the City” set a precedent for relaxed, dialogue-driven comedies to flourish on this network, including fellow New York-set shows “Curb Your Enthusiasm,” “Entourage,” “Girls,” and more. In other words, “Sex and the City” didn’t just give HBO one hit show; it opened the door for several other successes, too. On top of all that, “Sex and the City” helped solidify HBO’s dominance of Sunday nights for original programming. This day of the week would remain for decades the network’s default launchpad for new, exclusive programming, including “The Sopranos.”

If you have fond memories of watching “Barry” or “Game of Thrones” on Sunday nights, you have Carrie Bradshaw to thank. Sure, there are plenty of “Sex and the City” moments that haven’t aged well, but the show had a towering impact on HBO.

1. The Sopranos

There’s simply no other HBO show that has had such a profound effect on this network as “The Sopranos.” There were successful HBO productions before it, but none punctured the zeitgeist like “The Sopranos.” Immediately, the world of Tony Soprano (James Gandolfini), his family, and his friends captivated audiences. Weekly television inherently lets audiences grow close to characters, usually amiable friend groups like the leads of “Cheers.” In “The Sopranos,” that element was masterfully utilized to provide an intimate gaze of morally complex psychologies rarely seen on television or in any artistic medium before.

With this unprecedented level of depth and grimy storytelling, “The Sopranos” took over the world. Inevitably, countless programs, both HBO-bound or otherwise, utilized the new storytelling possibilities that this production unleashed. The best TV shows like “The Sopranos” were often amazing in their own right, but they inevitably couldn’t measure up to the endeavor that started it all. Plus, “The Sopranos” reinforced that HBO was in a league of its own when it came to television dramas. No wonder key cast members of this mobster show have appeared in subsequent HBO hits, such as Michael Imperioli’s memorable turn in the second season of “The White Lotus.”

Artistically, “The Sopranos” is considered one of the most perfect TV shows ever made. In terms of HBO’s legacy, though, it’s also a staggeringly impactful achievement. There really wouldn’t be an HBO as we know it without Tony Soprano waking up in the morning and getting himself a gun.

SOFHA Appoints Financial Expert Davis as New CFO to Drive Strategic Growth

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (WJHL) — State of Franklin Healthcare Associates (SOFHA) has introduced Matthew Davis as their upcoming chief financial officer (CFO).

Having resided in Johnson City for the past decade, Davis holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a focus on Accounting, as well as a Master of Accountancy, both from West Texas A&M University.

Victoria Beckham Disheartened Over Daughter Harper’s Unsuccessful Effort to Reconcile with Brooklyn

0

Victoria Beckham is grappling with heartache after her teenage daughter, Harper, made an unsuccessful attempt to visit her brother Brooklyn amidst the family’s ongoing tensions.

A source revealed to Page Six that “the situation has deeply affected the entire family, and Victoria is heartbroken for her children.”

“Victoria and David were aware that Harper was going to visit Brooklyn,” the insider explained. “The children have always been accompanied by nannies and security and have traveled independently many times, so Harper’s visit without her parents was not out of the ordinary.”

As previously reported by Page Six, 14-year-old Harper was seen arriving at Brooklyn’s Los Angeles residence, where he resides with his wife, Nicola Peltz, soon after attending the celebration of her father’s star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Unfortunately, her visit did not go as planned. Sources disclosed that Harper departed the location shortly after her arrival without getting a chance to see Brooklyn, the entrepreneur behind Cloud23 Hot Sauce. According to the insider, Brooklyn and his wife were unavailable at the time.

The chef, 27, later shared via his Instagram Stories that he was in New York at the time of his sister’s appearance.

Still, a rep for the couple told Page Six, “That photographers were in place as the letter was hand delivered says it all — this was choreographed for the cameras.”

Meanwhile, a source insisted there was nothing orchestrated about Harper’s visit despite speculation that it had been staged.

“David and Victoria would never intentionally come between any of their children and the people they love,” the insider said. “You can see that in the relationships they have with their other sons’ girlfriends.”

“That’s why this has been so incredibly painful and confusing for them. They honestly don’t know where things went wrong or how the relationship got to this point.”

The soccer pro, 51, and the Spice Girls alum, 52, also share sons Romeo, 23, and Cruz, 21. Romeo is dating model and DJ Kim Turnbull, while Cruz is dating Brazilian-German singer and songwriter Jackie Apostel.

According to the insider, David and Victoria are “worried things might never fully get back to how they once were with Brooklyn.”

“They love him unconditionally and will never stop hoping for a reconciliation. No matter how difficult things have become, he’s their son and that will never change,” the source said. “But David and Victoria are terrified because they feel like they’ve lost their son and they feel like there’s a wall between them and Brooklyn that they just can’t seem to get through.”

The latest setback comes a day after Brooklyn appeared to take a jab at his parents in a DoorDash World Cup advertisement.

In the commercial, Brooklyn referenced his “complicated” relationship with his parents and siblings in a DoorDash ad shared on his Instagram Monday.

“You’re probably wondering why I’m watching the FIFA World Cup 2026 from home,” he said in the video while sitting on his couch wearing a sweatshirt and jeans. “It’s a long story,” he said with a laugh as he tossed World Cup tickets onto his coffee table.

While the ad went viral, the source said the commercial itself hit home for the Beckhams in more ways than one.

“It’s disappointing, but at this point it goes beyond a commercial,” the insider said. “It’s not really about the ad itself. For David and Victoria, it’s another example of private family matters becoming public, and that’s what’s upsetting.”

Brooklyn and Peltz, 31, tied the knot in a lavish wedding ceremony in April 2022 in Palm Beach, Fla.

In a bombshell statement posted to Instagram in January, Brooklyn accused his parents of controlling the family’s public image and leaking stories to the press about him and Peltz.

“I do not want to reconcile with my family,” he wrote, adding, “For my entire life, my parents have controlled the narrative in the press about our family.”

The eldest son of David and Victoria also claimed they had been “trying endlessly to ruin” his relationship with Peltz since before their 2022 wedding. He alleged Victoria canceled plans to make Peltz’s wedding dress at the last minute and said family members told him before the ceremony that Peltz was “not blood” and “not family.”

Brooklyn accused his parents of prioritizing “Brand Beckham” over family relationships, writing that “family ‘love’ is decided by how much you post on social media.”

He also pushed back against speculation that Peltz controls him, insisting, “I’m not being controlled, I’m standing up for myself for the first time in my life.”

Gilgo Beach Murderer Connects with Fellow Inmate, Delves into Crime Novels in Jail, Reports Sheriff

NEW YORK (AP) — For the last three years, a Manhattan architect, secretly known as the Gilgo Beach serial killer, has been isolated in a solitary cell. He spends his days engrossed in crime novels, occasionally interrupted by visits from his legal team or relatives, as detailed by the sheriff in charge of the facility.

Rex Heuermann also engaged in a short exchange with Keith Hunter Jesperson, the notorious “Happy Face Killer,” who confessed to the murders of eight women across the United States during the 1990s, according to Suffolk County Sheriff Errol Toulon.

Sheriff Toulon revealed that Jesperson, currently serving several life sentences in Oregon without the chance of parole, initiated contact by writing to Heuermann at the Riverhead, New York jail where Heuermann has been held since his July 2023 arrest.

Although Heuermann replied initially, he has not continued the correspondence despite Jesperson’s subsequent letters, Toulon stated in a conversation with The Associated Press, which took place just before Heuermann’s sentencing on Wednesday.

Having confessed to the murder of seven women and admitting to an additional killing in April, Heuermann is facing a life sentence without parole.

Toulon said “other fanatics” have also tried to reach out, but Heuermann has denied “all visits or any communication,” including from news outlets seeking interviews.

Gloria Allred, a lawyer for some of the Long Island victims’ families, dismissed Heuermann and Jesperson as “losers” and “cowards” and urged people to commit to ending violence against women.

“They both murdered someone’s daughter, someone’s mother, someone’s sister,” she said in a statement. “They chose the most vulnerable victims.”

Most of Heuermann’s victims were female sex workers whose dismembered remains were found off a remote ocean parkway near Gilgo Beach, some 50 miles (80 kilometers) east of Manhattan.

Jesperson met many of his victims while working as a truck driver. He was dubbed the Happy Face Killer because he drew smiley faces on taunting letters he sent to media and police.

Macabre reading list gives insight to mindset

Heuermann has been a voracious reader in jail, but Toulon said the inmate’s preference for violent crime and mystery novels — some about serial killers — concerns him.

Some of the works he’s recently borrowed from the jail library include J.D. Robb’s “Portrait in Death,” John Sandford’s “Secret Prey,” Heather Graham’s “Picture Me Dead,” Sue Grafton’s “N is for Noose” and Lisa Jackson’s “Chosen to Die,” according to Toulon.

“He’s not taking out sports books or cooking books, you know,” the sheriff said. “He’s choosing to read about this.”

Toulon, who was elected in 2017 after decades working for the New York City corrections department, said Heuermann’s demeanor has remained unchanged through more than 1,000 days of incarceration.

“He doesn’t seem uncomfortable in his cell,” the sheriff said. “No emotion, no despair.”

“Every time you see him, it’s the same stoic look that he has when you see him in the courtroom,” Toulon continued. “There’s no remorse.”

Days spent under close supervision

The large, hulking Heuermann is housed in a standard, 6-by-9-foot cell equipped with a metal sink, a metal toilet and a bed with a “very thin mattress,” according to Toulon.

Cells in the unit are all in view of correction officers, he said. The department also beefed up staff after Heuermann’s arrest, but purposefully did not assign any female correction officers to the unit, and no staff is allowed in unless authorized to work there.

“One of the things that we wanted to ensure when he came into our custody is that justice was served in the courts and not in our jails,” Toulon said.

Inmates in the unit are served three meals a day, all in their cells, Toulon said. There’s no common area, and they can only see the communal television through the bars of their cells.

Heuermann remains segregated anytime he leaves his cell — officers pause all other inmate movement to avoid interactions, he said.

He showers alone, and while he gets fresh air in the jail yard up to six days a week alone, he isn’t particularly active, according to Toulon.

“He does not play basketball, doesn’t do any sprints. He does not do any dips, pullups, or situps or pushups,” the sheriff said. “He just basically just walks around in circles in the yard.”

Heuermann sees visitors in a designated meeting area where his handcuffs are removed and where inmates are allowed to embrace or kiss their visitors once at the beginning and end of the meeting. He’s sat face-to-face with his ex-wife Asa Ellerup, their grown daughter Victoria, his attorneys, his therapist and a few others.

“He does not have an extensive visit list,” said Toulon.

Heuermann’s family won’t attend his sentencing

Suffolk County District Attorney Ray Tierney’s office, which is prosecuting the case, declined to comment on Heuermann’s life behind bars. Nor did his family.

His ex-wife and two grown children said through their lawyers that they won’t be attending the sentencing, where some of the victims’ families are expected to face Heuermann and deliver emotional statements.

“Out of respect for those who have endured unimaginable loss and suffering, she does not wish her presence to distract from the purpose of these proceedings,” said Robert Macedonio, Ellerup’s attorney. “Her thoughts remain with the victims and their loved ones as they continue their pursuit of justice, healing, and closure.”
