RHORI’s Rulla Pontarelli Discusses Current Marital Situation Amid Brian’s Legal Troubles and Affair Allegations Involving Potential Tell-All Book

Rulla Pontarelli has opened up about the current status of her marriage to Brian Pontarelli following the season finale of The Real Housewives of Rhode Island.

RHORI's Rulla Pontarelli Offers Marriage Update After Brian's Affair and Arrest, Admits to Experiencing "Trauma" as Jo-Ellen Claims Mistress Wants to Write Tell-All and Suspects Brian Will Cheat Again, Plus Kelsey Hints Marriage Isn't "as it Seems"

In the wake of Brian’s arrest for placing a tracker on her car and his alleged affair with Beth Walker, Rulla, 46, shared insights into their relationship’s status and acknowledged the “trauma” she endured due to his infidelity. Her fellow cast members also shared their thoughts on the situation.

“As of today, Brian and I are still together,” Rulla stated during the June 14 episode of the RHORI: After Show. “Honestly, we’re better than ever. It’s like we’ve reignited the spark we always had, but I’m proceeding with caution, taking it one day at a time. I’m approaching everything with a fresh perspective. Brian is now treating me as he always did, but with even more dedication. He’s fully committed to me, the kids, and our relationship. He’s actively going to church, repenting, and attending therapy. He’s really making an effort.”

When Rosie DiMare, 35, expressed that she couldn’t have forgiven Brian, 49, if she were in Rulla’s position, Rulla confessed that overcoming the affair’s aftermath has been “extremely difficult.”

After Rosie DiMare, 35, said she could never forgive Brian, 49, if she were in Rulla’s shoes, Rulla admitted that moving forward from the affair was “so hard.”

“Unless you’re in the shoes and you really like, lived the life and know the person, and have a family, and dissect the situation, it’s so easy to say something … it’s certainly not the place that I ever wanted to or expected to be. And the reason why I, like, made certain decisions to kind of continue on is just because of who I am and what I consider to be important, and just, knowing Brian the way I’ve known him all my life,” she reasoned. “That is all, you know, in the past. Major, major series of mistakes, but it’s definitely water well under the bridge, dead and buried, where it should be.”

In recent months, Rulla and Brian have had discussions about his decision to cheat, but he doesn’t seem to understand what led him down that path.

“I’m still trying to figure out how it even happened, and he really can’t even understand how. But unfortunately, it did, and he just says like, ‘I don’t know what happened to me, I can’t even explain it,’” she shared. “I said, ‘Well, you have to kind of dig deep to explain it to yourself,’ and he’s like, ‘I’m just so disgusted. I’m disgusted with myself. I can’t believe that I was even engaged or capable.’ He’s like, ‘There’s no reason why,’ he’s like, ‘it was almost like something I slipped into, and I couldn’t get out of it fast enough.’”

According to Rulla, she “just [knows]” that things are over between Brian and his other woman because she’s “all over it.”

Meanwhile, Ashley Iaconetti, 38, pointed out that he could never “get away with anything now.”

“Oh God, no,” Rulla agreed. “I think the looking over the shoulder will resonate with me for a long time. When you go through something like this, there’s trauma. There’s a lot of trauma that you have to overcome. You know, I still have healing, and that’ll be sort of like a long road ahead.”

In her own segment, Jo-Ellen Tiberi, 38, revealed shocking news in regard to the mistress’s supposed plan to write a book.

“The mistress is wanting to write a tell-all book at this point. You think I’m against that? Tell your truth, girlfriend,” she declared. “But truthfully, she was in love because of a degenerate, small little pr*ck.”

Jo-Ellen went on to suspect that Brian would cheat again.

“I think this affair with this woman might be in the past, but there will be a new one, just like there was the last marriage,” she noted.

Elsewhere, Liz McGraw, 55, and Kelsey Swanson, 32, advised Rulla to get back at Brian with her own affair, as Liz admitted that the couple seemed “really good,” but Kelsey hinted at otherwise.

“Nothing is ever as it seems,” Kelsey stated.

The Real Housewives of Rhode Island season one reunion begins this Sunday, June 21, at 9/8c on Bravo.

California Governor Gavin Newsom Announces Department of Justice Investigation Involving Himself and First Partner

0

California Governor Gavin Newsom released a video on X, revealing that the U.S. Department of Justice has initiated an investigation involving him and his wife. Newsom suggested that former President Donald Trump is targeting him due to his potential presidential aspirations.

In the nearly five-minute clip, Newsom did not elaborate on the specifics of the alleged inquiry but mentioned that his wife, Jennifer Siebel Newsom, is a focal point.

“Recently, federal agents have approached my family, friends, and former staff,” Newsom stated. “Their aim isn’t to address a discovered crime, but to unearth one.”

Newsom further alleged, “They’re demanding records, misusing the grand jury process, and scouring through countless documents.” He asserted that Trump’s motivation goes beyond mere social media spats, and is tied to his potential presidential run and his repeated public criticisms of Trump.

He emphasized that both he and his wife have nothing to conceal, while accusing Trump of engaging in corrupt practices.

“If they can’t intimidate me, they’ll go after the mother of our children. Donald Trump picked the wrong target. We have nothing to hide. His political operatives can take every record and read every page, but they’ll be looking in the wrong place. Because if they really want to find corruption, look no further than 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue,” Newsom said.

Newsom later added, “To Donald Trump, who I know is watching because he watches everything, I have a message for you. You can subpoena my records, you can investigate me, you could harass me, put my name on every and any enemies list you have, but leave my wife and family out of your personal vendetta.”

Trump has previously called for Newsom’s arrest, namely during the deployment of federal soldiers into Los Angeles last year. At the time, Border Czar Tom Homan refused to rule out arresting state and local officials if they obstruct immigration operations, prompting Newsom to tell Homan to come and arrest him.

“Gavin likes the publicity, but I think it would be a great thing,” Trump said in June, reacting to the comments. Trump later said that the crime Newsom committed was “running for governor because he’s done such a bad job.”

The White House deferred to the Department of Justice for comment. ABC News has reached out to the Department of Justice.

Sources familiar with the matter tell ABC News that the investigation is examining Jennifer Seibel Newsom’s taxes.

In a press call with reporters on Monday, the governor’s office said it believes subpoenas have been issued to financial institutions to get records of the state’s First Lady.

Jennifer Seibel Newsom told KGO-TV in the Bay Area, “There are clearly no boundaries to what Donald Trump will do to get his way or to challenge those who get in his way. This is not presidential behavior, and the Governor and I will continue to speak truth to power because the American people deserve so much more.”

ABC News reached out to the Justice Department, but its spokesperson declined to comment. Acting Attorney General and President Trump’s former personal attorney, Todd Blanche, was also asked about the potential investigation on Monday, but he said he was not commenting.

Many Democrats commented on the investigation. California Senator Adam Schiff posted on X, “The President’s abuse of the Justice Department continues, with new targets every day. The Governor won’t be silenced. Nor will my Senate colleagues. Nor will I. In the face of vindictive and baseless investigations, we are defiant and unbowed.”

Long Beach Congressman Robert Garcia posted, “Donald Trump is the most corrupt person to ever serve as President. His former personal lawyer now runs the DOJ.”

ABC News’ Oren Oppenheim, Alexander Mallin, and Nicholas Kerr contributed to this report.

Katy Perry and Justin Trudeau Share a Moment During Picnic Date

0

Katy Perry’s relationship with Justin Trudeau has brought a sense of stability to her life, as she has openly acknowledged.

This newfound calmness was on full display when the couple was spotted sharing affectionate moments during a picnic in Santa Barbara, California, on Saturday.

The 41-year-old pop sensation, known for her hit “Dark Horse,” was seen warmly embracing the former Canadian Prime Minister as they exchanged smiles and gentle kisses.

Earlier, the pair picked up some lunch in Perry’s classic Moke vehicle before making their way to a scenic park. There, they kicked back on a red-checkered blanket, savoring the peaceful surroundings.

Following their red carpet debut last week at the New York City premiere of Perry’s concert film, the pair continued to display their affection openly, with remnants of their picnic spread nearby.

They were also joined by the singer’s mother, Mary, and Perry’s daughter, Daisy Dove, five, whom she shares with ex-fiance Orlando Bloom, plus another child who appeared to be the former politician’s younger son, Hadrien, 12, with estranged wife Sophie Gregoire Trudeau.

Even so, the lovebirds managed to steal some alone time, looking very much in their own world.

At one point, Trudeau lay on his back grinning while Perry leaned in for another kiss.

Perry was dressed casually in a white top with striped linen trousers along with flip flops that she later kicked off. She arrived wearing a hat, but later removed that, too, showing her dark hair that she’d tied back in a knot.

Trudeau wore an olive-green T-shirt and navy cargo shorts and, like Perry, went barefoot in the grass.

It wasn’t all about them, as Perry and Trudeau spent time with their families at the playground.

The sighting comes just days after Perry hailed Trudeau as the ‘love of my life’.

Perry – who was previously married to Russell Brand and ended her long-term relationship with Bloom in June of last year – made her red carpet debut with Trudeau at the New York City premiere of the Katy Perry: The Lifetimes Tour concert film on June 8.

And she couldn’t help but gush over their romance and the stability Trudeau has brought to her life.

‘I am very in love. Actually, that show was after I met the love of my life, and so I felt very anchored by that,’ Perry told People.

‘Because I’m a little bit like a rainbow kite. I fly super high and like, you know, touch the veil, cosmos, and sometimes I need to be anchored. So, to have that anchor finally makes me feel really whole now.’

The star couldn’t be happier with the way her life is now.

‘Every day is a fantastic journey, and every day is a chance to evolve, and to be a better person and do the right thing and to be a model for your community, for your family, for your world.

‘I feel like a more grounded person in so many aspects of my life,’ she added.

Perry reflected on how 2025 – the year her engagement to Bloom ended – was ‘one of the hardest’ periods of her life.

‘I went through a f*** ton, and there were days that were really, really, really, really hard,’ she recalled.

‘And I just kept going ’cause I made a promise to my fans. I made a promise to my daughter. I made a promise to myself. And I got through it.

Perry, who has served as a Unicef Goodwill Ambassador since 2013, noted she has embraced life in her 40s.

‘I’m different now. Your 20s are for emotions. Your 30s are for sorting them, and your 40s are for f****** not caring about those emotions and turning them into gasoline – finally transmuting all those emotions into a creative something.

‘We’re all human here and it doesn’t matter. It’s like sadness doesn’t discriminate, grief does not discriminate, pain does not discriminate – everybody is subjected to it in their own ways.’

Meanwhile, Perry revealed she wants her daughter, Daisy Dove, to grow up to be ‘a better version’ of herself.

She was happy to take her little girl on the road with her for her recent Lifetimes tour because she is proud to be an example of a ‘strong’ woman.

‘It’s always incredible when I get to bring my daughter to work,’ she told the outlet.

‘I think when mothers can be their most supported, authentic selves, that is always a good template for children to model. And I’m just glad to model a strong, steady, intelligent, funny, weird woman for my beautiful daughter.’

Heartbreaking Disruption: Ore Oduba’s Son Faces Emotional Struggles Amid School Change Due to Parents’ Divorce

0

Ore Oduba, celebrated for his victory on Strictly Come Dancing, is navigating a challenging period in his personal life as his son has had to change schools unexpectedly. This development comes in the wake of his divorce from Portia Jett.

The couple, who had been married for nine years, announced their separation in 2024. Ore, now 40, and Portia, a former television researcher aged 36, have decided to go their separate ways.

Amid this family transition, Portia shared a poignant moment with their eight-year-old son, Roman. On Monday, she posted a heartfelt photo of herself hugging Roman as he embarked on his first day at a new school.

In a show of support, Portia expressed her admiration for Roman’s resilience during such turbulent times. “I haven’t got this, but you have,” she wrote. “First day at a new school and I couldn’t be prouder of how he’s handled all the changes. Let’s do this.”

Later, she shared more candidly about the emotional toll of the day. She revealed to her followers that dropping Roman off was particularly tough, admitting, “Just dropped him off. He got really upset.”

‘God as a parent nothing prepares you for holding it together, smiling, being strong, supportive and saying all the right things whilst all you want to do is cry too.’

‘I know it’s just first day nerves and of course anything new is scary.. but I know he has got this.’

In an evening update, Portia said she was ‘so relieved’ after picking up her son and hearing about his first day.

‘I’d been feeling anxious all day but he had a good first day… his teacher said he was a little shy but made friends and did really well. So I’m happy.. tomorrow we go again,’ she wrote.

Following their split Ore and Portia sold their Kent family home, which they bought in 2022, with Portia admitting that their children Roman and daughter Genie, four, were left heartbroken by the decision.

‘I told the children that we are selling the house,’ Portia told her social media followers in March. ‘It’s hard, especially for Roman, to have these conversations. He’s really upset.

‘I wanted to let the kids know, I tried to explain why. It’s gutting, and I’ve known for a while.’

In a recent interview Ore admitted he has lost thousands of pounds to his 30-year porn addiction.

The former Strictly Come Dancing winner opened up about his ‘life destroying’ porn addiction late last year.

Ore has said that the addiction, which started when he was just nine years old after he was shown adult images, left him on the brink of ending his own life and he wanted to speak out now to highlight the issue of children seeing sexual imagery on social media.

He has now confessed ‘I’ve spent thousands on pornography’ in an interview about his financial successes and failures.

The former CBeebies presenter became a household name after he lifted the Strictly Come Dancing glitterball trophy in the show’s most-watched final ever in 2016.

Since then, he’s branched out into a successful Musical Theatre career, starring as Caractacus Potts in the UK tour of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang among other shows, in recent months.

But his career choices, alongside his porn addiction, has led to periods of financial instability.

Around the same time as his Strictly stint the star switched from being employed by the BBC to being self-employed, and he explained to The Sunday Times that ‘I’ve always wanted to live within my means but I do feel Strictly gave me a false sense of stability’.

Ore has admitted he’s unsure if he will ever buy another house after selling the family home this year. ‘Having been a property owner, some of the information I’m reading is making me wonder if property ownership is as efficient an investment as I’d been led to believe,’ he told The Sunday Times.

‘A lot of my life has followed the path of what was meant to happen, what I thought were acceptable and traditional means and methods.

‘But essentially, just because I’ve sold a house doesn’t necessarily mean I need to buy another one – I’m continuing to look for investment avenues that will work for me better.

‘In terms of property, honestly, sometimes I’m all but ready to buy a motorhome and get a dog. Home for me is way beyond bricks and mortar.’

Former TV researcher Portia has recently started a new career, qualifying as a personal trainer and shares regular updates about her new relationship and family life with her 51k Instagram followers.

Jen Lilley’s Pregnancy During Hallmark Film Production Unveiled

Hallmark actress Jen Lilley is never shy about discussing her journey through motherhood. Whether she’s sharing her experiences with fostering and adopting her two eldest boys or announcing the pregnancies of her two daughters, Lilley opens up about balancing a bustling career in television and film with being a mom to four. Her journey hasn’t been without its challenges, particularly when she was shooting Hallmark’s “Paris, Wine, and Romance” in Europe while pregnant with her first daughter.

One of the first hurdles Lilley faced was adhering to a suitable diet. “Filming in Bulgaria made finding foods that worked for me quite challenging,” she explained in an interview with IBT during the 2019 production. “There were all these delicious cheeses, but since I couldn’t confirm if they were pasteurized, I had to avoid them.” Besides dietary challenges, hiding her baby bump was another task. “Two weeks in, my bump appeared,” she shared. “Approaching the camera, you’d wonder if I overindulged in pasta or was pregnant. So, we had to modify the shots.” Despite these challenges, “Paris, Wine, and Romance” wasn’t Lilley’s only Hallmark movie filmed during pregnancy.

In fact, Lilley was no stranger to working while pregnant, having shot three Hallmark films during her first pregnancy. The journey began with 2019’s “Love Unleashed.” Luckily, she was in the early stages of pregnancy, making the process relatively smooth, save for one minor issue. “It was mostly cold, but that was the easiest one in terms of being pregnant,” she told IBT in July 2019.

Director Christie Will Wolf played a significant role in easing the shoot. “She’s fantastic. We’ve collaborated a lot. It felt like being with family, and everyone was thrilled about my pregnancy,” Lilley remarked, noting that she had worked with the same crew and director on five different films.

Jen Lilley filmed three Hallmark movies pregnant

Despite the demands of pregnancy, Lilley demonstrated her resilience by returning to work quickly. In December 2019, during the promotion of her Christmas movie “Angel Falls: A Novel Holiday,” she revealed she took a mere eight weeks of maternity leave. Her previous experiences as a mother helped with this quick transition. “I doubt I could have done it if Julie, our daughter, had been my first,” she told ET. “Even though Julie is my first biological child, having two sons before her—one adopted and the other fostered—prepared me for the upheaval a child brings, making adaptation easier.” She added, “I don’t know that I could have managed otherwise.”

Her director, Christie Will Wolf, also made the shoot exceptionally easy. “She’s awesome. We’ve worked together a lot. So, that was great because I’ve worked with that crew and Christie on five different movies,” she continued, adding, “So, it was like being with family, and they all knew I was pregnant and they were all excited.”

Of course, Lilley didn’t just prove that she’s not the type to let pregnancy slow her down. She also got back to work almost right away. In December 2019, while promoting her Christmas film, “Angel Falls: A Novel Holiday,” she revealed that she only took eight weeks of maternity leave after giving birth. And she had her sons to thank for that!  “I don’t know that I could have done it if Julie, our daughter, had been my first baby,” she shared with ET. “She’s my first biological, but because I already had two babies before her [one through adoption and the other currently being fostered], I was used to the way a child just turns your life upside down and adapting.” She continued, “So, I don’t know that I could have done it.”

Revitalize Your Midsection: Top 4 Home Exercises to Firm Love Handles Fast for Seniors Over 60

0

Noticing your waist feeling softer after hitting 60? Consider these four trainer-recommended exercises you can do from the comfort of your home.

While the term “love handles” might sound endearing, the real focus as we age should be on the waist, hips, core, and overall body composition. After 60, you might find the sides of your midsection feeling more relaxed, particularly if day-to-day activity decreases, muscle maintenance requires more effort, and nutrition habits stray from your goals. A well-crafted home workout routine can target larger muscle groups, strengthen your core, and promote more regular movement.

Though gym equipment like the leg press is excellent for enhancing lower-body strength, particularly in the quads and glutes, home exercises can provide a comprehensive full-body workout. Exercises such as step-ups and walking lunges not only target your legs but also engage your core to maintain balance. Side planks are effective for strengthening the muscles along your waist. Adding weighted walks to your routine introduces a simple yet effective loaded movement that enhances posture, grip strength, core stability, and burns calories.

When coaching clients towards these goals, I endorse exercises that are manageable yet effective, avoiding overly simplified routines. It’s ideal to choose movements you can execute in a hallway, living room, driveway, or even around your neighborhood. The simpler the setup, the easier it is to maintain consistency, and consistency is key to achieving the desired changes in body composition.

When I coach this type of goal, I like exercises that feel doable without feeling watered down. You want movements you can perform in a hallway, living room, driveway, or around the block. The simpler the setup, the easier it becomes to stay consistent, and consistency is what helps your body composition move in the right direction.

This routine keeps things accessible while still giving your body meaningful work. You’ll step, lunge, brace, and carry, which engages your legs, hips, obliques, glutes, and core. Keep the reps controlled, use support when helpful, and choose a pace that lets you move well.

Step-Ups

Step-ups train your quads, glutes, hamstrings, calves, and core while building strength through a movement you use every day. Each rep asks one leg to drive your body upward while your midsection keeps your torso steady. This makes step-ups a strong home exercise for firming love handles because they target large muscles, increase overall effort, and challenge balance without requiring a machine. Use a low step at first, then increase the height once the movement feels smooth.

Muscles Trained: Quadriceps, glutes, hamstrings, calves, core.

How to Do It:

  1. Stand facing a sturdy step, stair, or low box.
  2. Place your whole foot on the step.
  3. Brace your core and keep your chest lifted.
  4. Press through your lead foot to stand tall.
  5. Step back down with control.
  6. Complete all reps, then switch sides.

Recommended Sets and Reps: Perform 3 sets of 8 to 10 reps per leg. Rest for 45 to 60 seconds between each set.

Best Variations: Low step-ups, assisted step-ups, slow step-downs.

Form Tip: Let your lead leg lift your body and keep your knee tracking with your toes.

Walking Lunges

Walking lunges train your glutes, quads, hamstrings, hips, and core as you move forward with control. Your legs do the main strength work, while your midsection keeps your posture steady as your weight shifts from one side to the other. This gives the movement more total-body value than a seated machine because your balance, hips, and core all stay involved. Start with shorter steps, then build into a deeper range as your legs feel stronger.

Muscles Trained: Glutes, quadriceps, hamstrings, hips, core.

How to Do It:

  1. Stand tall with your feet hip-width apart.
  2. Step forward with one leg into a lunge.
  3. Lower your back knee toward the floor with control.
  4. Press through your front foot to step forward.
  5. Repeat on the opposite leg.
  6. Continue alternating sides with a steady posture.

Recommended Sets and Reps: Perform 3 sets of 6 to 10 reps per leg. Rest for 45 to 60 seconds between each set.

Best Variations: Reverse lunges, assisted walking lunges, shorter-step lunges.

Form Tip: Keep your torso tall and drive through your whole front foot.

Side Planks

Side planks train your obliques, deep core, shoulders, and outer hips. The muscles along the sides of your waist help support posture, balance, and trunk control, making side planks a smart addition for firming the love-handle area. This exercise also teaches your core to stay steady without requiring much movement. Start with a bent-knee version if needed, then build your hold time as your strength improves.

Muscles Trained: Obliques, deep core, shoulders, outer hips.

How to Do It:

  1. Lie on your side with your forearm under your shoulder.
  2. Stack your feet or stagger them for more support.
  3. Brace your core and lift your hips off the floor.
  4. Keep your body in a straight line from head to heels.
  5. Hold the position while breathing steadily.
  6. Lower with control and switch sides.

Recommended Sets and Reps: Perform 3 sets of 15 to 30 seconds per side. Rest for 30 seconds between each set.

Best Variations: Bent-knee side planks, staggered-feet side planks, side plank with top-leg lift.

Form Tip: Press your forearm into the floor and keep your hips lifted.

Weighted walks train your core, grip, shoulders, upper back, glutes, and legs while adding simple loaded movement to your day. Hold dumbbells, kettlebells, grocery bags, or a backpack and walk with a tall posture. Your abs and obliques help keep your body steady, especially when the load feels challenging. Weighted walks fit love handle goals well because they combine strength, posture, and calorie burn in a way that feels natural and easy to repeat.

Muscles Trained: Core, obliques, grip, shoulders, upper back, glutes, legs.

How to Do It:

  1. Hold a weight in each hand or carry a loaded backpack.
  2. Stand tall with your shoulders relaxed.
  3. Brace your core before you start walking.
  4. Walk forward with smooth, controlled steps.
  5. Keep your chest lifted and your posture strong.
  6. Set the weights down with control when the walk ends.

Recommended Sets and Reps: Perform 3 walks of 30 to 60 seconds. Rest for 60 seconds between each carry.

Best Variations: Farmer walks, suitcase walks, backpack walks.

Form Tip: Walk tall and keep your ribs stacked over your hips.

How to Firm Your Waist at Home After 60

Firming love handles works best when your plan combines strength work, core training, daily movement, and nutrition habits that support body composition. These home exercises help because they engage more of your body than a single-machine pattern. Your legs, hips, glutes, core, grip, and posture all play a role.

  • Use lower-body movements for more total work: Step-ups and walking lunges target large muscles and increase the session’s effort. More muscle involvement supports a stronger training effect.
  • Train your waist directly: Side planks strengthen the obliques and deep core muscles that support the sides of your midsection. Better core control helps your waist feel firmer and more stable.
  • Add loaded walking: Weighted walks build practical strength and increase daily movement. They also train the core in a standing position, which carries over well to real life.
  • Keep the routine easy to repeat: A stair, a little floor space, and a pair of weights or loaded bags can cover the whole workout. Simple tools make consistency easier.
  • Support the work with steady habits: walking, protein-focused meals, smart portions, and regular strength sessions all help shift body composition over time.

A firmer waist after 60 comes from steady, practical work you can keep doing. Step, lunge, brace, and carry with control, and you’ll train the muscles that help your midsection look and feel stronger.

Navigating Father’s Day: Should I Send a Card to My Recently Discovered Biological Father?

0

DEAR ABBY: Three years ago, I uncovered that the man I grew up calling Dad was not my biological father. For years, I harbored suspicions and confronted my mother twice, only to be met with angry denials. She insisted that he was indeed my father. Sadly, he passed away in 1989. Recently, I learned that he had known the truth about my parentage all along.

Thanks to a cousin, I discovered my DNA profile and reached out to my biological father in 2020. We have met twice and maintain a friendly relationship. I sent him and his wife a Christmas card, which he appreciated with a phone call. He expressed his happiness that I had reached out. I also call him around his birthday, though I haven’t sent a card.

Would it be strange to acknowledge him on Father’s Day? I’ve been ignoring the day, given that he wasn’t a dad in my life, but everyone involved knows he is my father, including his other daughter. I find myself wanting to send a card or perhaps make a call. Is this more about me? I’d appreciate your guidance. — WONDERING IN WISCONSIN

DEAR WONDERING: It’s understandable that after losing the man you considered your father, you might seek a father figure. Why not have an open conversation with your biological father about how he feels about receiving a card or a call on Father’s Day? Ask what he would prefer, and let his response guide you.

DEAR ABBY: I planned a birthday dinner for my friend, “Sybil,” at an upscale restaurant to celebrate her special day. About a month prior, I mentioned to her that I had also invited another friend, as it was her birthday too. I thought it would be enjoyable for the three of us, especially since we seldom dine at such fine establishments.

I was the host, so I said that I would pay for all of us. Sybil said she wouldn’t go unless I “uninvited” the third person! A week after I refused to do that, I received an email saying “leave me alone” after I’d unsuccessfully tried to phone and set up an alternative date to celebrate, but at a less expensive restaurant. I could not afford to host two fine dining nights out.

That was five months ago. Now what? I won’t apologize for including another person at a dinner party I was hosting, but I am willing to move on. It took a mutual friend to explain to me why I got the “leave me alone” email. It never occurred to me that I could be wrong. I don’t think I was. Do you? — GOOD INTENTIONS IN CALIFORNIA

DEAR GOOD INTENTIONS: It might have been better form to have asked Sybil if she would mind your including another birthday girl at the dinner before you did it, but not having done that was insufficient reason to excommunicate you. I do not think you owe her an apology. On the contrary, she owes you one for overreacting the way she did.

Friends of Beckham Family Respond to Brooklyn’s Surprising Post

0

David and Victoria Beckham are reportedly heartbroken after their estranged son, Brooklyn, participated in an advertisement that pokes fun at family estrangement. According to sources close to the couple, the situation has deeply affected them.

The ad, created with the food delivery company DoorDash, has also left Brooklyn’s sister Harper and his grandparents extremely upset. In a controversial Instagram post, Brooklyn appeared to target his parents while promoting the brand during a football event.

In the sponsored video, the 27-year-old Beckham heir is seen smirking as he says, “You’re probably wondering why I’m watching the FIFA World Cup 2026 from home… It’s a long story.”

This statement has been interpreted as a jab at his estranged relationship with his parents, hinting at ongoing tension. The video concludes with the tagline “more soon,” implying that additional similar content might be forthcoming.

The video has stirred quite a reaction online, resulting in restricted comments for some Instagram users. One follower challenged Brooklyn, saying, “If you dislike them so much, drop the name and stop benefiting from the association.”

The Daily Mail can reveal that friends of the Beckhams have been taken aback by the latest shocking move amid their public family feud, which has left the family devastated.

A friend of the Beckhams told Katie Hind: ‘To do an advert based on estrangement from family as if it’s a joke when his family is devastated and his sister and grandparents are inconsolable is shocking.

‘Especially from someone who claims he wants peace and privacy.’

In Brooklyn’s scathing six-page statement denouncing his parents in January, he hit out at ‘Brand Beckham’ and accused his family of valuing ‘public promotion and endorsements above all else’.

He added: ‘All we want is peace, privacy and happiness for us and our future family.’

However, as his latest clip comes to a close, a message reads: ‘It’s complicated. More soon,’ hinting that there will be more cryptic ads to follow.

Meanwhile, Brooklyn has been hit with a backlash from his followers on Instagram.

While Brooklyn smirked in the advert, the joke didn’t appear to land well with fans as they took to the comments section and accused the star of disrespecting his parents.

One wrote: ‘You knew what you was doing with this commercial; Am I only the one who finds the irony in him doing this ad?’;

‘Desperate; This is so disturbing; Cliff hanger,’ another commented.

Another fan noticed the intentionally placed items on the table as they added: ‘The watch and camera’ alongside laughing emojis.

Brooklyn is set to cash in on his deal with DoorDash, despite already having an individual net worth of £7.4million. In the post sponsored by the delivery firm, he seems to relish the opportunity to hit back at his family, with the video containing a number of seemingly hidden messages.

While Brooklyn has been wearing the £250,000 Patek Philippe Nautilus watch gifted to him by his father, who played in three World Cups in 1998, 2002 and 2006, he shakes off this association by pointedly placing a new one on his coffee table.

And there was a stack of unopened letters from home – perhaps a nod to his refusal to make contact with his family.

Only on Friday, his sister Harper, 14, went to his Beverly Hills home to deliver a handwritten note but was crestfallen when she discovered he wasn’t home.

Shortly after his sister’s appearance at the home Brooklyn shares with his wife Nicola Peltz, 31, their camp accused the Beckhams of ‘using Harper as a pawn’.

Friends of David and Victoria have hit back at the ‘nasty accusation levelled at an innocent young girl’ from their estranged son, 27.

However, representatives for Brooklyn and Nicola insisted the circumstances surrounding the visit raised serious questions.

They told the Daily Mail: ‘[The fact] that photographers were in place as the letter was hand delivered says it all – this was choreographed for the cameras.’

In response, friends close to Victoria and David have said: ‘It is incredibly sad that this horrible accusation is being levelled at an innocent young girl who just desperately misses her brother.

‘Nothing needed to be said at all so to invent this nasty accusation is really unnecessary.’

They have also claimed that Brooklyn hasn’t accepted any contact from Harper or his grandparents since the falling out.

Following Harper’s visit, it later emerged that Brooklyn, 27, was not even in California at the time.

Instead, the aspiring chef and media personality shared an Instagram story showing himself out for a run in New York City, making it clear that he was on the opposite side of the country when his younger sister arrived at his front door.

Harper had been in LA, alongside her brothers Romeo, 23, and Cruz, 21, to watch their father be honoured with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

David’s new plaque has taken pride of place at the centre of Hollywood Boulevard, just over five miles from Brooklyn’s home.

The former England captain appeared determined to avoid discussing the family fallout during interviews ahead of the ceremony.

Asked what toll months of headlines surrounding the feud had taken on him, he replied: ‘To be honest, I’m sorry to stop you there, but that’s a private matter. That’s the one thing that I don’t want to talk about.’

The Beckhams have been embroiled in an increasingly acrimonious dispute with Brooklyn and Nicola for months, with relations said to have deteriorated dramatically after the couple failed to attend David’s 50th birthday celebrations in May 2025.

In January, Brooklyn released a scathing six-page statement (below) announcing he had cut ties with his family – declaring he was no longer part of ‘Brand Beckham’ and insisting his parents and their other children are ‘performative’.

Shortly before Christmas last year, Brooklyn blocked his parents on Instagram, while Brooklyn and Nicola’s lawyers later wrote to the Beckhams’ legal team requesting that all communication be conducted through legal representatives.

Brooklyn also claimed David and Victoria had controlled him for much of his life, attempted to drive a wedge between him and Nicola and left him embarrassed when his mother danced ‘inappropriately’ with him during the first dance at his wedding.

Victoria has previously spoken about the challenges of parenting older children while under intense scrutiny.

Speaking about all four of her children, she said: ‘Being a parent of young adult children and adult children, gosh, I mean, it’s very different from having little children.

‘I think that we’re trying to do the best we can,’ she said, adding that the negative press in recent months had not affected her fashion and beauty empire.

‘I think that ultimately people are buying my product because the product is really good. I don’t think they’re buying my eyeliner just because it’s me.’

Cruz and Romeo publicly vouched for their sister on Sunday after Brooklyn accused the family of ‘choreographing’ her visit to his house.

Romeo showed support for his sister as he branded her his ‘favourite person ever’ and shared a sweet selfie of them together on Instagram.

He flashed a smile while wearing a Brazil jacket from his own label Intra, cuddled up next to his beloved sibling, who was pulling a playful expression.

Cruz’s girlfriend Jackie, 30, also revealed they had spent quality time with his younger sister during their trip stateside after the snub.

The group headed out for a seafood dinner at The Crab Cooker in Newport Beach, before grabbing ice cream cones for dessert.

They also hung out another day on the trip, as they picked up Erewhon smoothies in one sweet selfie of Jackie and Harper together.

She had captioned the selection of snaps: ‘LA – OC!! Core memory weekend. We obviously went looking for Summer and Seth.’

Both Cruz and Victoria, 52, shared some love under the post and left a string of red heart emojis underneath.

Brooklyn was last pictured with his family during Christmas 2024, and by May 2025 it was clear a feud had formed after Brooklyn failed to acknowledge either of his parents’ birthdays and snubbed David’s 50th.

He accused his parents of trying to ruin his relationship with wife Nicola Peltz and said his mother danced ‘inappropriately’ on him during his 2022 nuptials to the billionaire heiress.

He also claimed that Victoria ‘cancelled’ plans to make Nicola’s gown at the last minute, ‘forcing her to urgently find a new dress’.

Brooklyn hit out at his father, as he said he was in the UK to attend David’s 50th celebrations, but claimed repeated requests to see him beforehand were ignored and ‘when he finally agreed to see me, it was under the condition that Nicola wasn’t invited’.

Brooklyn Beckham’s statement in full

I have been silent for years and made every effort to keep these matters private. Unfortunately, my parents and their team have continued to go to the press, leaving me with no choice but to speak for myself and tell the truth about only some of the lies that have been printed.

I do not want to reconcile with my family. I’m not being controlled, I’m standing up for myself for the first time in my life. For my entire life, my parents have controlled narratives in the press about our family. The performative social media posts, family events and inauthentic relationships have been a fixture of the life I was born into.

Recently, I have seen with my own eyes the lengths that they’ll go through to place countless lies in the media, mostly at the expense of innocent people, to preserve their own facade. But I believe the truth always comes out.

My parents have been trying endlessly to ruin my relationship since before my wedding, and it hasn’t stopped. My mum cancelled making Nicola’s dress in the eleventh hour despite how excited she was to wear her design, forcing her to urgently find a new dress.

Weeks before our big day, my parents repeatedly pressured and attempted to bribe me into signing away the rights to my name, which would have affected me, my wife, and our future children.

They were adamant on me signing before my wedding date because then the terms of the deal would be initiated. My holdout affected the payday, and they have never treated me the same since.

During the wedding planning, my mum went so far as to call me “evil” because Nicola and I chose to include my Nanny Sandra, and Nicola’s Naunni at our table, because they both didn’t have their husbands. Both of our parents had their own tables equally adjacent to ours.

The night before our wedding, members of my family told me that Nicola was “not blood” and “not family.” Since the moment I started standing up for myself with my family, I’ve received endless attacks from my parents, both privately and publicly, that were sent to the press on their orders.

Even my brothers were sent to attack me on social media, before they ultimately blocked me out of nowhere this last Summer.

My mum hijacked my first dance with my wife, which had been planned weeks in advance to a romantic love song. In front of our 500 wedding guests, Marc Anthony called me to the stage, where in the schedule was planned to be my romantic dance with my wife but instead my mum was waiting to dance with me instead.

She danced very inappropriately on me in front of everyone. I’ve never felt more uncomfortable or humiliated in my entire life. We wanted to renew our vows so we could create new memories of our wedding day that bring us joy and happiness, not anxiety and embarrassment.

My wife has been consistently disrespected by my family, no matter how hard we’ve tried to come together as one. My mum has repeatedly invited women from my past into our lives in ways that were clearly intended to make us both uncomfortable.

Despite this, we still travelled to London for my dad’s birthday and were rejected for a week as we waited in our hotel room trying to plan quality time with him. He refused all of our attempts, unless it was at his big birthday party with a hundred guests and cameras at every corner.

When he finally agreed to see me, it was under the condition that Nicola wasn’t invited. It was a slap in the face. Later, when my family travelled to LA, they refused to see me at all.

My family values public promotion and endorsements above all else. Brand Beckham comes first. Family “love” is decided by how much you post on social media, or how quickly you drop everything to show up and pose for a family photo opp, even if it’s at the expense of our professional obligations.

We’ve gone out of our way for years to show up and support at every fashion show, every party, and every press activity to show ‘our perfect family.’ But the one time my wife asked for my mum’s support to save displaced dogs during the LA fires, my mum refused.

The narrative that my wife controls me is completely backwards. I have been controlled by my parents for most of my life. I grew up with overwhelming anxiety. For the first time in my life, since stepping away from my family, that anxiety has disappeared.

I wake up every morning grateful for the life I chose, and have found peace and relief. My wife and I do not want a life shaped by image, press, or manipulation. All we want peace, privacy and happiness for us and our future family.

Judy Austin’s Ex, Mr. Obasi, Reveals His Role in Her Educational Journey Before Their Split

In a candid revelation, Mr. Obasi, the former spouse of renowned Nollywood actress Judy Austin, has come forward with fresh claims about their past, emphasizing his pivotal role in her educational and personal development journey. Before Judy Austin rose to fame, Mr. Obasi asserts that he was instrumental in her early success.

During a recent appearance on the Honest Bunch podcast, Mr. Obasi shared that he encountered Judy Austin in their youth. Despite her family’s financial hardships, he was determined to build a future with her. He recounts investing significantly in her education, highlighting his contributions towards purchasing her first mobile phone and funding crucial exams such as WAEC, NECO, and JAMB.

These revelations emerge against a backdrop of public exchanges between Mr. Obasi, Judy Austin, and actor Yul Edochie. Continually, Mr. Obasi has voiced details of his past marriage, portraying himself as someone who made considerable sacrifices for Judy before their relationship concluded.

As the narrative unfolds, Mr. Obasi’s account adds another layer to the ongoing discourse, shedding light on the complexities of their shared past and his role in Judy Austin’s formative years.

He said …

“I chose Judy Austin when I was 27 years old. She was a fine girl from but that time their pocket no fine. Based on family background, they were wretched. The very first phone that she used, I was the one who bought it for her. During that time, she told me that the most problem she was facing was WAEC and NECO. I paid for her WAEC, NECO and JAMB…”

Recall that Judy Austin has previously denied allegations that she was involved with Yul Edochie while still married to Mr. Obasi, maintaining that she met the actor years after her first marriage had ended. The differing accounts remain disputed by the parties involved and have not been independently verified.
