An outspoken New York City college professor known for her anti-Israel and anti-US rhetoric recently stirred controversy by defending the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps and advocating for the downfall of the US “empire” at a Democratic Socialists of America gathering.

Corinna Mullin, a political science professor with a history of radical activism, was previously arrested for spearheading anti-Israel protests that led to $3 million in damages at the City College of New York’s Harlem campus. During the meeting, she praised Iran’s military efforts for exhausting US weapons supplies in the Middle East and urged backing for its armed forces.

“Iran has achieved victory… its homegrown military industry has delivered remarkable outcomes,” she proclaimed during a fervent 90-minute “Islamic Revolution Teach-in” presented to the NYC chapter of the DSA.

“This is significantly impacting the US empire’s capacity to enforce its will… We must dismantle the empire by any means necessary,” she declared passionately.

Specializing in anticolonial studies, Mullin was dismissed by CUNY in 2025 after an eight-year tenure.

The termination came after she led an April 2024 encampment at the City College of New York. She fought the move and was reinstated this year, though her name didn’t appear on CUNY faculty pages and it’s unclear if she taught any classes there this spring semester. She also teaches at The New School.

Speaking to more than two-dozen comrades Wednesday evening, she painted Iran’s murderous Islamic regime in a socialist light to justify funding its military — while making zero mention of the riches Iran’s ruling elite has famously amassed through the control of oil and state-owned resources.

“I’d love to see a world with no militaries. But we can’t have peace without justice,” she said. “And so, a state like Iran needs to divert a significant portion of its surplus into military industrialization, so it can defend its workers.”

“The state itself is working on behalf of the working class,” she insisted.

“We can talk about the Epstein class and the depravity of the ruling class today, which knows no limits on violence. So, I’m sorry, I defend the IRGC,” she proclaimed tearfully. “I defend the incredible role the Iranian state has done to defend the working class.”

“This is a working-class war,” she claimed.

The DSA members ate it right up.

“This is excellent,” raved DSA leader Cass Roach, telling Mullin she can go past her allotted time. “Incredible!” gushed another.

“Frankly, people are scared to be seen as sympathetic to the Iranian government, it’s something that’s really holding us back,” whined Roach.

“It doesn’t matter what your opinions might be on the Iranian government or on particular policies, we are living in the heart of empire and our goal is to disrupt this war machine by — I’m glad we’re not recording right now — but I’ll just say here, by any means necessary,” he declared.

“That is our role. Our role is not to nitpick and to implement these types of purity tests.”

Mullin also incredulously praised the repressive and bloodthirsty Iranian regime for its “strong gender inclusion” — failing to mention women face death by hanging if they leave the house without being fully covered — and for “prioritizing human life,” despite an estimated more than 36,000 protestors killed since late December.

“It is grotesque that a professor at a New York university is standing in front of an American political organization to launder the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps — a US-designated terrorist organization with American and Iranian blood on its hands,” lambasted Andrew Ghalili, an Iranian-American who serves as Policy Director at the National Union for Democracy in Iran.

“Anyone who poses as a defender of human rights while running interference for the IRGC is either dangerously ignorant of who its victims are or does not care, because the IRGC is the single greatest violator of Iranians’ human rights,” he told The Post.

“Calling that apparatus ‘self-defense’ and suggesting it deserves funding is a moral disgrace.”

Mullin — who has worked with the Samidoun network, a sham charity which the State Department has said acts as a front for the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine terrorist organization — wrote a “red paper” in May titled “The Multiple Fronts of Iranian Anti-Imperialism.”

The New School and CUNY didn’t immediately answer The Post’s questions on Mullin’s working status, or her embrace of the IRGC. She and the DSA did not return a request for comment.

When Jeff Bartos stood before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee in 2025, he faced a stark warning: the position he aspired to might be a figment of imagination.

Bartos, a Pennsylvania entrepreneur, former political aspirant, and endurance athlete, had been selected by President Donald Trump to take on the role of U.S. ambassador for United Nations Management and Reform. This title, while ambitious, seemed to many as little more than an idealistic notion within the famously bureaucratic halls of the U.N.

As his confirmation hearing unfolded, Bartos recounted the skepticism he encountered.

“UN reform? That’s an oxymoron if I’ve ever heard one,” lawmakers remarked, reflecting the widespread belief that such a task was nearly impossible.

Less than a year later, Bartos believes the impossible is beginning to happen.

In an exclusive interview with News Media, the Trump administration official laid out an ambitious campaign to reshape an institution critics say has become bloated, inefficient and increasingly disconnected from its founding mission.

The effort comes at a pivotal moment for the United Nations. The stakes extend well beyond budgets. As the U.N. confronts a cash crunch, prepares to choose its next secretary-general and faces growing scrutiny from the administration, the debate over reform has become a battle over the institution’s future: whether it remains on its current course or undergoes its most significant restructuring in decades.

Secretary-General António Guterres has repeatedly warned of a growing liquidity crisis as the organization struggles with delayed member-state payments, including billions owed by the United States. At the same time, the Trump administration has made clear that future funding and support will be increasingly tied to reforms.

Bartos argues that pressure is already producing results.

Sitting at the U.N. headquarters, he points to what he calls historic achievements: roughly $570 million cut from the U.N.’s regular budget and 2,900 positions eliminated through negotiations among all 193 member states.

“Again, never happened before in 80 years,” Bartos said.

“$570 million cut to the regular budget, approximately 3,000 posts cut. Unanimity. That’s by consensus. All 193 countries had to come together.”

For Bartos, the achievement is particularly striking because many diplomats viewed meaningful reform as impossible.

“I promised you we wouldn’t let you down,” he recalled telling Senate Foreign Relations Committee Chairman Jim Risch months after his confirmation.

The reforms represent only what Bartos describes as a “down payment.” The next phase is already underway.

As member states negotiate peacekeeping budgets for the coming year, the administration is pushing to reduce spending, streamline missions and eliminate programs it believes no longer serve their intended purpose.

One example, Bartos said, involves changing how the U.N. reimburses countries that contribute equipment to peacekeeping missions.

Previously, reimbursement was largely based on whether equipment was present.

“The methodology that the U.N. used to reimburse troop-contributing countries for equipment was: ‘Is it there?’” Bartos said.

The United States pushed for a simple change: “You get reimbursed when the equipment is put into action to do work.”

The reform could save roughly $30 million annually, according to U.S. estimates.

For Bartos, however, the dollar figure matters less than what it represents.

“It’s a culture change,” he said. “Being efficient, being respectful of every dollar, thinking about the taxpayers who fund all this.”

That mindset is driving the administration’s next major targets: employee compensation and pensions.

Bartos argues that the U.N.’s pension system and benefits structure consume resources that could otherwise be directed toward humanitarian operations.

Not everyone at the United Nations agrees with Bartos’ assessment. U.N. officials argue that many of the reforms predate the Trump administration and were already being pursued under Secretary-General António Guterres.

“From day one, the Secretary-General has been committed to reforms,” U.N. spokesman Stéphane Dujarric told News Media and added, “A few days ago, on 28 May, the Secretary-General told Member States that they need to act on structural reform, saying, “Genuine reform requires tough choices. This is no time for complacency, self-interest, or foot-dragging.”

The UN80 initiative is Guterres’ flagship reform effort, aimed at cutting duplication, reviewing mandates and making the UN system more efficient.

Still, Bartos argues the pace and scope of reform changed dramatically once the United States began applying pressure through budget negotiations and funding discussions.

“The U.N. is at a decision point,” Bartos told News Media.

The debate comes as the organization faces mounting financial pressure. Dujarric said Guterres remains deeply concerned about ongoing liquidity challenges caused by delayed payments from member states, including the United States.

“Unlike a government, the U.N. cannot borrow or print money,” Dujarric said, warning that the organization is expected to execute programs with funds it has not received while also returning unused funds at the end of the year.

Earlier in 2026, Guterres urged member states either to pay their assessed contributions in full and on time or overhaul the U.N.’s financial rules to prevent what he described as the risk of financial collapse.

The reforms are unfolding as the U.N. begins preparing for one of the most consequential transitions in years: the search for a successor to Guterres, whose term expires at the end of 2026.

According to Bartos, reform has become a central topic in discussions with prospective candidates.

The administration hopes the next secretary-general will embrace efforts to reduce bureaucracy and return the institution to what Bartos repeatedly describes as a “back-to-basics” approach.

The challenge, he acknowledges, is enormous.

Yet Bartos insists the experience has prepared him in unexpected ways.

Before entering government, he completed two Ironman triathlons while balancing work and family life.

“It’s discipline, planning, prioritization,” he said. “It’s not dissimilar to budget negotiations.”

The comparison may sound unusual, but it reflects how Bartos views the job: not as a sprint, but as an endurance race requiring patience, persistence and long-term thinking.

The mission also carries a personal dimension.

After two unsuccessful statewide campaigns in Pennsylvania — first as the Republican nominee for lieutenant governor in 2018 and later as a candidate in the state’s 2022 Republican Senate primary — Bartos said he had largely stepped away from politics before returning to public service following the Oct. 7, 2023, Hamas attacks on Israel. 

Bartos recalled his wife urging him to get involved: “You’ve spent your life working on these issues. You need to do something.”

He ultimately joined efforts to help elect Trump and later accepted the U.N. role.

Now, after tackling what many considered the first impossible mission — reforming the United Nations — Bartos is preparing for what may prove an even harder challenge.

Bartos said he was recently tasked by U.S. Ambassador to the U.N. Mike Waltz with helping lead efforts to combat what the administration views as entrenched anti-Israel bias across the U.N. system, including agencies, special rapporteurs and investigative bodies.

The debate intensified following the publication of the U.N. secretary-general’s annual report on conflict-related sexual violence, which added Israeli security forces to the report’s blacklist of parties credibly suspected of patterns of sexual violence in armed conflict. Israel rejected the allegations and announced it would suspend engagement with Secretary-General António Guterres’ office.

Responding to the report, Waltz told News Media that the UN has failed to address what he described as a longstanding pattern of institutional antisemitism.

“The U.N. was built in the wake of World War II and the Holocaust, and yet, remarkably, it continues to be weaponized against the Jewish people and Israel,” Waltz said. “Whether it’s a U.N. official regularly referencing Israel as a ‘stain on humanity’ and attacking American companies for doing business with Israel, or reports that spread misinformation and propaganda, this antisemitism is completely unacceptable.”

“It’s been over a year since the secretary general signed off on an ‘action plan’ to fight antisemitism at the institution — it would be nice if the institution actually used it,” he added.

Bartos argues that anti-Israel bias has become embedded across multiple U.N. bodies and says the administration is working to dismantle what he calls that infrastructure through diplomacy, funding decisions and engagement with the next generation of U.N. leadership.

“There is not a day that goes by that we’re not working on that,” Bartos said.

The United Nations rejects accusations that it has ignored antisemitism within its ranks.

Dujarric told News Media that the secretary-general launched a formal Action Plan to Combat Antisemitism in January 2025 aimed at tracking antisemitism within U.N. structures and evaluating whether the organization’s policies and actions are effectively addressing the problem.

Dujarric also disputed suggestions that Guterres directly controls some of the U.N. bodies most frequently criticized by Israel and its supporters. 

“The U.N. mechanisms that you allude to, including human rights mechanisms, are created by and accountable to Member States,” Dujarric said. “The Secretary-General has no authority over them.”

“It is very important for Member States to actively engage in these mechanisms if they have concerns about their content and tone,” he added.

“The U.N. is at a decision point,” Bartos concluded. 

Whether the institution changes enough to satisfy its largest financial contributor remains one of the most consequential questions facing the organization — and the man charged with answering it insists the work is only beginning.

This week, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor’s daughters have found themselves under scrutiny after a National Audit Office report revealed that they have been quietly receiving financial support for years from their grandmother, Queen Elizabeth, and now their uncle, King Charles.

Despite residing in prime properties at Kensington Palace and St James’s Palace for nearly 20 years, the sisters have not personally contributed a single penny towards rent.

Hundreds of well-wishers who had spent hours waiting for a glimpse of the bride gave three ecstatic cheers once she finally stepped out at the venue in Kemble, near Cirencester, today. 

Mercifully, the intermittent rain, which had been threatening a more serious downpour, stopped altogether for a few minutes as the bridal procession made its way into the church.

Marking one of the biggest royal occasions this year, Peter, who is the eldest grandchild of Queen Elizabeth II, and 19th in the line of succession, was also supported by his sister Zara, 45, and her husband, former rugby ace Mike Tindall.

Proving the private service was a real family affair, their daughter Mia, 12, also attended the nuptials, alongside the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh.

However, one member of the Royal Family noticeably absent from the celebrations was the groom’s cousin, Prince Harry.

The Montecito-based Duke of Sussex , 41, is said to have ‘not spoken in years’ to Peter, and sources say the presence of his estranged brother, Prince William, at the event will also inevitably have played a part.

Former Prince Andrew was also reportedly not invited to the ceremony as the monarchy continues its efforts to distance itself from the fallout surrounding his long-running scandal linked to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

Despite the prospect of torrential downpours, scores of fans took their place hours before the wedding of Peter and Harriet, hoping to catch a glimpse of the royals.

Many of the royal watchers were locals, but James and Jane Cahill travelled 120 miles from Newark, Nottinghamshire, to make sure they were in place three hours before the ceremony started.

‘I was dragged out of bed for this,’ joked James, 80, admitting that Jane, 75, is the fervent royalist of the family.

‘I love everything to do with the royal family,’ she said. ‘I was in London for the King’s Coronation and it’s not that often you get a chance to see so many royals at once at close quarters.’

Sue Hooper, 65, from Tetbury, is virtually a neighbour of King Charles at nearby Highgrove, and said she shook hands with the monarch two years ago at a Buckingham Palace garden party.

‘I’m a member of Tetbury Art Society, and the King is patron’ she said, ‘and that’s why I was invited to the Palace. It’s great to be able to see the King and the other members of the Royal family today, even if it does rain on us, as seems likely.

‘Events like this show the human side of the royals and even younger people get to see them. My grandson is definitely interested that I came down here today.’

Locals Jez and Sarah Smith only had to walk less than a mile with their dog Ziggy to claim a front row spot behind the barrier outside the church.

IT professional Jez, 51, said the couple had tried to bring their two children aged 16 and 20, to watch the arrivals, but without success.

‘I guess it’s a generational thing,’ he said, ‘but having said that I can see a fair few younger people here today – just not our kids.’

Primary school administrator Sarah, 52, said events like the wedding were an antidote to the depressing backdrop of world events at the moment.

‘There’s just so much bad news right now, it’s great that we can all come together and celebrate something happy,’ she said.

Molly Hurrell, 27, was hoping to see the King again, having met him once before as a nursery school pupil more than 20 years ago.

‘He came to my school, Tigger’s Nursery, to open a new building, and my photo with him appeared in the national papers,’ she recalled.

She brought her aunt Claire Johnson, 56, and her daughter Nala, two, along to see the event.

‘It won’t mean much to Nala today,’ said Molly, ‘but one day I’ll be able to tell her about this special occasion when she saw the King and Queen.’

Aunt Claire admitted she ‘loves’ the royals and wasn’t going to miss the chance to see them today, whatever the weather. ‘I’m expecting a bit of rain, but it won’t dampen our spirits!’ she said.

College student Lyla Scovell, 17, from nearby Stroud, described herself as a ‘royal fanatic’ and attended the King’s Coronation in London.

‘I share the same birthday as the late Queen Elizabeth,’ she said, ‘so maybe that accounts for why I’m so passionate about them.

‘To see so many royals all together was too good a chance to miss. Most of my friends don’t feel as enthusiastic about them as I do, but I think they’re one of the best things about Britain.’

Today’s festivities were organised by Bentley’s Entertainments, a blue-chip firm which oversaw David and Victoria Beckham’s wedding, multiple parties for Sir Elton John, Princess Eugenie’s Windsor nuptials to Jack Brooksbank and Peter’s 2008 ceremony to his first wife Autumn Kelly.

Peter, who publicly announced his divorce to Autumn in 2020, found love again in May 2024 with fellow divorcee Harriet, who has a 14-year-old-daughter Georgina, from a past relationship.

The bride herself boasts wealthy connections, sharing a relation to the Duke of Gloucester through her late father, Rupert Sperling.

Born Harriet Eleanor Sander to Mary Hoskins and Rupert Sanders, the 45-year-old, who has three siblings, Nicholas, Louisa and Rebecca, works as a paediatric nurse specialist for the NHS.

Peter, 19th in the line of succession, popped the question in August 2025 with a sparkling ring which boasts a subtle but touching tribute to his beloved grandmother, the late Queen Elizabeth II. It was designed by the same jeweller behind her 1946 ring.

In a statement to announce their engagement, they said both families were ‘delighted’.

While few details are known about the plans for the wedding, Harriet herself has spoken openly about the importance of faith in her life, previously revealing how Christianity helped her through the challenges of single motherhood.

In a previous interview, she revealed that her ‘faith was always in me, but it was kind of dormant’.

She added: ‘Somehow it didn’t seem relevant to my life in London. But the end of a seven-year relationship was the turning point for me. I went to church as I felt there was something missing.’

Whilst today’s private ceremony was proudly attended by a host of royals, the groom’s first wedding to Autumn wasn’t as drama free – after Peter struck a deal with Hello! magazine to sell the exclusive rights for an estimated £500,000, without telling the family.

The 100-page feature included remarkably candid shots of the royals, including images of the family laughing and one photo of Prince Harry giving his grandmother – Elizabeth II – a peck on the cheek.

William and Harry’s then-girlfriends, Kate and Chelsy Davy, also appeared heavily throughout the special, despite issuing previous complaints about privacy breaches. 

Sources close to the royals told The Standard at the time that the princes were entirely unaware that the photos were going to be featured in the magazine, and that Peter’s HELLO! deal ‘had not gone down well at all’.

They added: ‘Neither Peter nor the magazine sought their approval – and if they had, it certainly would not have been given. They are unhappy about it.’

William, who has always been a fiercely loyal public defender of Kate’s privacy, was no doubt upset that he had not been present at the event to protect his future wife.

Instead, the future King jetted off to Kenya to attend the wedding of Batain Craig, his ex-girlfriend Jecca Craig’s brother, and sent his girlfriend Kate to attend the event on his behalf. 

‘Prince William’s going to be out of the country on a long-standing prior engagement,’ a royal source explained at the time. ‘He spoke to his cousin Peter and he is fine about it. His girlfriend will go in his absence.’ 

Left in the trusting hands of Harry and his then-girlfriend Chelsy, Kate’s apprehension was no doubt worsened by the fact that the event would be the first time she would meet her future grandmother-in-law, the late Queen Elizabeth II.

During Kate and William’s engagement interview in 2010, the princess disclosed to interviewer Tom Bradby her nerves towards their first meeting and added that the monarch had been ‘very friendly’, given the unusual circumstances. 

However, what the wedding is now most remembered for is the intimate snapshot it provided into the family life of the royals, thanks to the controversial magazine deal.

Keeping a close eye, one eagle-eyed local eagerly anticipated the arrival of the bride and groom

But the spread was certainly not well received by the Firm, with senior members of the family – including the late Queen – allegedly less than impressed, having felt blindsided by the publication of the pictures.

Even politicians at the time also chimed in, with Labour MP Ian Gibson claiming the British public would be shocked to see their monarch in those pages. ‘She is the Queen, not a footballer’s wife,’ he added. 

Yesterday, the Daily Mail revealed that Harry’s strained relationship with Princess Anne’s son largely stems from the incident some 18 years ago. 

Discussing the Duke’s notable absence from today’s ceremony, a friend close to The Princess Royal’s son said: ‘Peter and Harry haven’t spoken for several years and have simply lost touch, so he hasn’t been invited.’

‘Peter and Harriet’s wedding is an intimate occasion with their close friends and immediate family around them in the Cotswolds. It’s an area where they grew up and is very special to them both,’ a pal said.

But the prince was furious following Peter’s first wedding over the Hello! deal. Harry was particularly annoyed because he had taken Chelsy as a guest and had decided that this was the moment he would introduce her to his grandmother for the first time – a sign that their relationship was getting increasingly serious.

While the prince was aware that a photographer was present and snapping away – even posing for pictures with Chelsy and the then Kate Middleton – he thought they were for Peter and Autumn’s private collection.

He had no idea that they would end up splashed across pages of the glossy celebrity magazine.

It also came at a time when he and his brother had been battling to preserve Chelsy and Kate’s anonymity, complaining that unofficial pictures of them were a violation of their privacy.

Harry was deeply nervous about the meeting with the Queen, admitting afterwards that while he was sure ‘granny would love her’, it was a huge step forwards in their four-year relationship.

Harry loudly complained later that the first he knew of the debacle was when a copy of Hello! was delivered a few days later to Highgrove, his father’s country home, and he saw it on the breakfast table.

Furiously, he tried to call Peter to have it out with him but his phone went straight to voicemail, he later said, as Peter had ‘buggered off on honeymoon’. 

It is not known if the two ever had it out personally, but the deal sparked a massive public outcry about the ‘selling out’ of the royals. 

It certainly appears to account for Peter’s decision not to negotiate a deal the second time around for today’s wedding to Harriet.

The bride grinned broadly yesterday as she arrived for the wedding rehearsal in a striped jumper tucked into wide-legged linen trousers and flat espadrilles.

She and Peter were accompanied by her daughter Georgina and his daughters Isla, 14, and Savannah, 15, by former wife Autumn, as well as his sister, Zara, and other family and friends.

Erika Kirk captured the audience’s admiration during Turning Point USA’s Women Leadership Summit with her composed reaction to an attempt by a heckler to disrupt her speech. The incident unfolded at the San Antonio Marriott Rivercenter, where Kirk, the CEO, was addressing the crowd, encouraging them to place their trust in God.

As Kirk spoke, a woman in the audience interrupted her, yelling accusations, “Erika Kirk protects pedophiles! Erika Kirk protects pedophiles!” The disruptive outcry was captured on video at Friday’s event.

Initially, Kirk appeared taken aback, frowning at the unexpected interruption. However, her demeanor quickly shifted to one of mild amusement, and she calmly resumed her speech.

Addressing the heckler, Kirk imparted a thoughtful message, reminding everyone that “happiness comes and goes — and I pray that you find it.” Her poised response not only defused the situation but also underscored her message of resilience and faith.

“It’s important to remember that happiness comes and goes — and I pray that you find it,” she said to the heckler.

The audience responded with cheers and applause, with some members of the crowd shouting: “We love you, Erika!”

The widow took several more jabs at the heckler — who was removed from the crowd.

“That’s an important moment because that just shows duty to faithfulness gives life meaning, and we must pray for our enemies and those that do not feel like their life has meaning. And that’s a perfect example of that. A perfect example. You pray for your enemies. You pray for those that persecute you,” Kirk said.

“That’s not the enemy. We know who the real enemy is,” she continued, without elaborating.

Kirk spent her 17-minute speech in San Antonio reflecting on her late husband, Charlie Kirk, and the 14-year anniversary of Turning Point USA.

She slammed feminism, telling the crowd of women — who paid between $50 and $300 for the summit — that they should embrace conservative values of family and marriage.

“We weren’t created to be alone. Scripture reminds us that men and women were designed to depend on one another, to support one another, to build together. That is God’s design for us. At its core, feminism is a worldview that treats many of the things that make women uniquely women as obstacles. As obstacles to overcome, rather than divine gifts, to embrace,” Kirk spewed.

The annual summit was slated to continue through the weekend, despite the arrest of a man last week for issuing sick online threats to kill Kirk at the event.

Jacob Wenske, 26, allegedly teased that he knew “exactly where to bomb” the venue.

“I can’t wait to be the valet for her escort,” he allegedly wrote.

He was charged with two felony counts of making a terroristic threat, causing public fear.

Tiffany Valdez cannot shake the memory of what she initially thought were mere sounds of gunfire, only to soon discover the tragic truth that her cherished brother had been killed.

In the early morning of June 7, 2018, Emilio Valdez departed from his mother’s residence and got into a Pontiac Grand Prix parked outside a neighbor’s home. Shortly thereafter, police reported that he was fatally shot inside the car. Investigators later confirmed that the 20-year-old had been struck with gunshots to both the chest and the back of his head.

Adding to the tragedy, reports indicated that Emilio was still alive when he was ultimately discarded into Osmun Lake.

Hailing from Pontiac, Michigan, Emilio Valdez met his untimely death at the age of 20 on that fateful day in June.
