Hawaii Doctor Faces Intense Scrutiny in Court Over Alleged Digital Surveillance of Wife

0

In a gripping courtroom exchange on Thursday, prosecutors confronted the Hawaii doctor accused of attempting to murder his wife, challenging his narrative of a violent incident on an Oahu hiking trail. The tension was palpable as Gerhardt Konig, who had previously testified that his wife was the initial aggressor, was intensely scrutinized regarding his actions and mindset at the time of the confrontation.

Konig, facing a barrage of questions, conceded that he entered what he termed “detective mode” prior to reviewing his wife’s WhatsApp messages. He acknowledged that this investigative behavior began months before the incident, revealing that he had been monitoring her activities and communications.

During his testimony, Konig admitted that WhatsApp was the app most frequently accessed during his efforts to gather information. He also stated that he had reviewed her emails, asserting that he did so with her permission.

As the trial unfolds, Gerhardt Konig remains seated in a Maui courtroom, charged with attempted murder in the case involving his estranged wife. The proceedings are being closely followed, with KHON-FOX among the media outlets covering the story.

Konig acknowledged that while the messages did not contain explicit sexual content, he was upset by the extent of the relationship.

“I was upset,” he told jurors, explaining his reaction was not about a single message but the overall nature of the communication.

Prosecutors also pressed him on his language, and Konig acknowledged calling his wife derogatory names, though he said that did not happen during the initial disclosure.

He testified that he wanted his wife to leave her job and strongly preferred she have no further contact with the coworker she was allegedly having an affair with.

Outside the presence of the jury, attorneys clashed over the scope of questioning allowed during cross-examination.

The state argued the defense had opened the door to questions about sexual coercion, including whether Konig demanded sex or threatened to disclose private information.

The judge ruled prosecutors could question Konig about sexual demands but could not characterize them as coercion.

The court also allowed limited questioning about what was described as “digital spying,” including allegations Konig accessed his wife’s accounts, used an iPad to monitor her communications and mirrored her phone to view emails and messages.

The cross-examination followed Konig’s dramatic testimony Wednesday, in which he claimed his wife attacked him first during a violent struggle on the trail.

He told jurors the confrontation escalated after an argument over her alleged affair.

Konig testified his wife shoved him, grabbed him and struck him with a rock. He admitted striking her twice, saying he acted on instinct to protect himself.

He also became emotional on the stand, telling jurors he felt “horrified” and “hopeless” after the incident.

Konig’s testimony came after two days of emotional testimony from family members, including his own son.

On Tuesday, Emil Konig told jurors his father called him after the incident and said he had tried to kill Arielle, but she got away, a claim central to the prosecution’s case.

Jurors also heard from Arielle Konig’s family, who described a relationship that had grown strained in the months leading up to the incident.

Peter Mast, Arielle Konig’s stepfather, testified there had been a “cooling” in the relationship over the past year and said, at a party in late January, Konig appeared to be pretending everything was normal.

Judith Mast, Arielle Konig’s mother, described tension and “coldness” between the couple, though she said it appeared the relationship had been improving in the period before the incident.

Prosecutors allege Konig attacked his wife on that hike in an attempted killing.

Konig has pleaded not guilty.

Tragic Collision: Driver Speeds Into Woman and Child En Route to Signing New Apartment Lease

A man from Connecticut has been sentenced to over ten years in prison after a tragic collision that claimed the lives of two individuals, including a young child.

In February, 42-year-old Solomon Valentine entered a no contest plea to charges including two counts of first-degree manslaughter, as well as second-degree assault and reckless driving. On Tuesday, he received an 11 1/2 year prison sentence for his role in the fatal crash that took place in March 2023, resulting in the deaths of 24-year-old Chelsy Torres and her 4-year-old nephew, Noah Rodriguez.

CTpost reported that Torres was traveling with her sister Ashley Aquino, Noah’s mother, and his younger brother Noel, who was just 2 at the time. The sisters were en route to finalize a lease for a new apartment where they planned to live together with their children.

According to prosecutors, Valentine was traveling at a speed of 74 miles per hour when he collided with the family’s vehicle on March 6, 2023. The family’s car was halted at a red light in Bridgeport, Connecticut. Prosecutors described Valentine’s driving as reckless, stating he treated the road “like his own personal racetrack,” showing no intention of slowing down or stopping.

Torres was declared dead at the crash scene. Noah was transported to the hospital by air, but tragically succumbed to his injuries days later. Aquino and her son Noel also sustained injuries. Speaking to News 12 New Jersey, Aquino expressed her relief and gratitude for Noel’s survival, saying, “He definitely is a miracle child. I was scared that I was going to lose both my kids, and he proved me wrong.”

Aquino told CTPost after the sentencing, “Having to explain to a 5-year-old that the urn in our living room is his brother is very traumatic. Memories are all that I have. I lost the two most important people in my life.”

Torres’ other sister, Destiny Agramonte, started a GoFundMe for the baby girl Torres left behind, writing, “That girl is part of her and she’s what we have left.”

Valentine was also injured in the crash and was brought to a nearby hospital, where he left against medical advice. While he was there, his blood tested positive for PCP and cannabis. He was arrested eight months after the fatal crash. He read a statement in court in which he apologized to the family of the loved ones he killed.

Epic Twist: How Cruz and Chloe’s Surprise Shakes Up the One Chicago Universe Permanently

0

Warning: Spoilers ahead for “Chicago Fire” Season 14, Episode 16 — “Firehouse 66”

Amidst the high-stakes drama of “Chicago Fire,” a heartwarming twist brings a touch of joy to the Cruz household. In a surprise moment, Joe Cruz (played by Joe Minoso) proudly shares with his colleague, Kelly Severide (Taylor Kinney), that he and his wife, Chloe (Kristen Lee Gutoskie), are expecting another child. This unexpected news has caught the Cruz family off guard, shaking up their world in delightful ways.

For fans of the series, this pregnancy announcement adds a new layer of tension. Given the show’s history with expectant parents, there’s a palpable concern for Joe’s safety and well-being as he anticipates welcoming his new child. Despite the inherent dangers of Joe’s job, both he and Chloe are thrilled, albeit surprised, as they had assumed their days of raising infants were behind them.

Joe hesitated to disclose this happy news to Kelly, considering the recent struggles Kelly and Stella (Miranda Rae Mayo) faced with their own adoption efforts. Yet, Kelly responds with genuine happiness for Joe and Chloe. However, not everyone shares this sentiment. Javi (Carlos S. Sanchez), whom Joe and Chloe adopted in Season 10, feels threatened by the upcoming addition to their family. Troubled by Javi’s reaction, Chloe discovers he’s been reaching out to the adoption agency to reconnect with any biological relatives in Honduras, leaving Joe and Chloe uncertain about how to navigate his emotional turmoil.

As Joe revels in the anticipation of his new child, professional challenges loom. The firehouse contends with the abrupt dismissal of Battalion Chief Dom Pascal (Dermot Mulroney) for reckless conduct, creating a tense atmosphere. The team is left to adjust under a new interim leader whose strict approach leaves little room for error. This shift in leadership adds another layer of complexity to Joe’s already tumultuous life, as he balances personal joy with professional uncertainty.

Can Cruz and Chloe cope with their new arrival?

While all of Joe’s co-workers seem quite happy that he’s going to have a child, his job could definitely be adversely affected by the baby’s birth. Battalion Chief Dom Pascal (Dermot Mulroney) has been terminated for reckless behavior, leaving everyone working with the CFD on edge as they cope with a new order-hungry interim official. Joe and his co-workers had just begun to form a bond with Pascal when the city dumps him, and their new lead seems less than interested in offering them leniency.

On top of that, local leaders have been putting tons of pressure on the department to cut costs, leaving Joe vulnerable to termination if he comes off as anything less than devoted to his job. If he steps out of line or disobeys newbie Chief Hopkins (Rob Morgan, best known as Chief Powell of “Stranger Things”), he might end up on the unemployment line with five mouths to feed.

At least one of his problems has an easy solution. After searching for the best way to talk to Javi about his roots, Joe decides to fly with him to Honduras during his next furlough. Javi is overjoyed at last, and Joe is relieved that he can help his son connect with his biological family without losing custody of the kid. With such sterling parenting skills at their disposal, is it any wonder why he and Chloe want to add one more to their tribe?

Melissa Gilbert Breaks Silence: Stands by Timothy Busfield Amid Controversial Child Sex Abuse Allegations

0

Melissa Gilbert has expressed deep sorrow as she addressed her husband Timothy Busfield’s legal troubles, describing their life together as irreversibly changed. In an emotionally charged interview, her first since Busfield faced allegations of child sex abuse, she staunchly defended him.

During a segment previewed by People magazine, “Good Morning America” host George Stephanopoulos asked Gilbert, the 61-year-old former “Little House on the Prairie” star, about her experience amidst the turmoil.

“It’s been hell,” Gilbert responded candidly. “This has been the most traumatizing experience of our lives.”

Busfield, aged 68, was taken into custody in January following accusations by Albuquerque police that he engaged in illegal sexual activities with two 11-year-old boys during his time directing the Fox series “The Cleaning Lady.”

A grand jury in Bernalillo County subsequently indicted the “West Wing” actor on four counts of criminal sexual contact with a minor under 13. These charges are classified as third-degree felonies and are related to alleged incidents in 2022 and 2023. Busfield has entered a plea of not guilty and is preparing for a trial scheduled for May 2027.

“Our life as we knew it is done,” Gilbert continued. “We are grieving what we had — all of our plans, all of our dreams, all of our ideas, all of our projects. For Tim, it’s done. He’s canceled. Even if he’s exonerated, he will always be that guy.”

Gilbert then forcefully defended Busfield.

“[He’s] the last person in the world who would hurt a child,” she insisted. “And believe me, if I thought for a second that Tim Busfield hurt a child, he’d have a lot more to worry about than prison.”

A representative for Gilbert told People that the actress and Busfield’s lawyer Larry Stein spoke with Stephanopoulos because she “decided it was time to sit down to clarify the facts of the case, which seem to have become lost to distraction, selective information and clickbait.”

Busfield surrendered to authorities on Jan. 13 and was released about a week later under strict conditions following a pretrial detention hearing.

He is barred from contacting the alleged victims or their families, cannot have unsupervised contact with minors and is prohibited from possessing weapons or using alcohol or drugs while under court supervision.

Gilbert has stood by him throughout the case, including writing a letter to the judge ahead of the January hearing in which she called him “my love, my rock, my partner in business and life,” and said she knows him “better and more intimately than anything in his life ever has.”

“I only want this extraordinary man safe and whole,” she wrote, urging the court to “please, please, take care of my sweet husband.”

She added that being unable to protect him herself “is what is truly breaking my heart.”

She was also seen crying in court when a judge granted his release.

Gilbert and Busfield have been married since 2013. They share five children from previous relationships.

Busfield’s attorney has sharply criticized the prosecution, calling the case “fundamentally unsound” and pointing to what he described as “fatal weaknesses” in the evidence, while vowing to fight the charges at trial.

Disney+ Unveils ‘Star Wars: Maul-Shadow Lord’ Animated Series Featuring the Return of Darth Maul

0

LOS ANGELES — For fans of “Star Wars,” the character of Darth Maul has always been a compelling figure, shrouded in mystery and ripe for further exploration.

Now, a new series is set to delve deeper into his story, providing a point of entry that requires no prior knowledge of the character. “Star Wars: Maul – Shadow Lord,” a 10-episode animated series, promises to uncover new dimensions of the Sith lord’s complex persona.

Sam Witwer, who lends his voice to the enigmatic Sith, sheds light on where the series picks up with Maul’s journey. “In this chapter, we find Maul at a crossroads of introspection and personal growth,” Witwer elaborates. “For the first time, he’s reaching out, attempting to form relationships and reassess his path.”

This fresh take on Maul’s story aims to captivate audiences, whether they are die-hard fans or newcomers to the galaxy far, far away.

“This character is going through a time of reassessment and self-discovery and kind of, for the first time, reaching out to other people, trying to have relationships,” he said.

“But how do you do that when the person that taught you everything you know is the Emperor, who is the most evil character in all of ‘Star Wars’ history.”

Set during the Imperial Era, a few short years after Order 66, Maul tries to rebuild his criminal empire.

The show’s producer, Athena Yvette Portillo, offered a comparison to help describe the tone.

In an interview with On The Red Carpet’s George Pennacchio, she asked, “Have you seen ‘The Godfather?’ It’s kind of the same thing where it’s, like, it’s a crime family but you’re kind of, like, understanding a little bit about what the Corleones, like, Michael Corleone’s doing and find a little bit of empathy.”

“This is one of the best shows I’ve ever worked on, said director Brad Rau. “I think this is one of the best shows we’ve ever made, in part, no only the hard work we put into it, but because the narrative and the characters and the style and the chapter titles and the music, they all really go well together.

So, what if you’d like to go into the series blind?

Series writer Matt Michnovetz said they “wanted to create a roller coaster ride for new viewers who know nothing about ‘Star Wars’ and also veteran die-hard ‘Star Wars’ fans to be able to jump in and fall into this rabbit hole with all these twists and turns.”

Witwer added, “We do not require you to know who Darth Maul is to enjoy this show. You don’t even have to have seen any “Star Wars” movie to get what’s happening in our show. It’s very accessible.”

The first two episodes of “Star Wars: Maul – Shadow Lord” premiere April 6 on Disney+.

The Walt Disney Company is the parent company of Disney+ and this ABC station.

Teenager on Probation Faces Arrest for Illegal Firearms Possession

0

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – An 18-year-old Gainesville resident, Clarence Rudolph Coleman Jr., found himself in legal trouble after being apprehended under a warrant for possessing a firearm as an adjudicated delinquent and unlawfully carrying a concealed weapon.

Authorities from the Gainesville Police Department’s Gun Violence Unit became aware of Coleman’s activities through his social media presence. On February 22, Coleman posted a video in which he prominently displayed a brown Glock-style pistol with a black magazine plate, drawing the firearm from his waistband and showcasing it to the camera. Officers reviewing the footage confirmed the weapon’s authenticity based on its barrel and overall design.

The video was reportedly filmed outdoors at the Tiger Bay Apartments. Investigators corroborated this by tracking Coleman’s location via his ankle monitor, which confirmed his presence at the apartment complex when the video was uploaded.

Further scrutiny of Coleman’s online activities revealed another incriminating video shared on March 22. In this video, Coleman is seen indoors making what appears to be gang-related hand gestures. He then produces the same brown pistol from his sweatshirt pocket, once again brandishing it for the camera, with a clear view of the firearm’s distinctive black back plate.

On March 22, Coleman reportedly shared another video that shows him inside a room; he reportedly makes “suspected gang signs” at the camera and then pulls a brown pistol from his sweatshirt pocket and “flashes” it at the camera. Later in the video, the pistol can be seen more clearly, including the black back plate.

An officer reported that Coleman’s ankle monitor placed him at his residence on Castle Drive all day on March 22.

On March 23, Coleman reportedly shared another video in which he points two pistols at the camera; one is black, and one is brown. An officer reported that both appear to be real guns, based on the barrel size and style of the pistols. The video was made in a room that appears to be a recording studio; there is a screen and a microphone, and Coleman is wearing headphones. A fence and shrubbery can be seen in the background.

An officer reported that Coleman’s ankle monitor placed him at a recording studio in the 2700 block of NW 6th Street at the time the video was posted, and the area is consistent with the background seen in the video.

Coleman has been charged with unlawfully carrying a concealed firearm and possession of a firearm by an adjudicated delinquent under 24 years of age. He is on juvenile probation for unlawfully carrying a concealed weapon, and Judge Adam Lee set bail at $150,000.

Articles about arrests are based on reports from law enforcement agencies. The charges listed are taken from the arrest report and/or court records and are only accusations. All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law

NASA Astronauts Inspire with Uplifting Message as Orion Embarks Beyond Earth’s Orbit

0

The four astronauts involved in NASA’s groundbreaking Artemis II mission to the moon have shared their first interview directly from the spacecraft.

Reid Wiseman, Victor Glover, Christina Koch, and Jeremy Hansen from the Canadian Space Agency (CSA) offered fascinating insights into their experiences aboard the Orion spacecraft.

During the interview, they talked about their unique sleeping conditions in space, an unexpected twist on launch day, and a breathtaking moment that left them in awe as they journeyed to the moon.

In a conversation with ABC, Wiseman humorously described the crew’s sleep schedule, mentioning they manage with just two brief naps, and calling the experience of sleeping in space “comical.”

He added, “Christina has been sleeping upside down in the middle of the vehicle, almost like a bat hanging from our docking tunnel.”

‘Victor has a nice little nook wedged in there. And then Jeremy has been stretched out on seat one, and I’ve been sleeping under the displays, just in case anything goes wrong,’ he added.

The team revealed that they were absolutely stunned by how smoothly launch day went. As the countdown neared to its final seconds before takeoff, the SLS rocket was fired on the first attempt.

‘We like to say that we’re prepared without having an expectation — but, in the back of your mind, you kind of hope you launch,’ Glover told Fox News.

‘And then when we got really close, it was like, “Wait, we’re getting ready to go to space?”‘

Glover recalled the surge of exhilaration he felt when he realized the launch had succeeded.

Artemis II launched from the Kennedy Space Center Wednesday evening, as one Southwest Airlines passenger captured incredible footage of the rocket soaring through the sky

‘It was a ride where you’re trying to be professional, but the kid inside you wants to break out and just hoot and holler,’ he quipped.

A breathtaking moment of the spacecraft reorienting left the team frozen mid-mission on their race to the moon.

‘There was a moment about an hour ago where Mission Control Houston reoriented our spacecraft as the sun was setting behind the earth,’ Wiseman said.

‘And I don’t know what we all expected to see at that moment, but you could see the entire globe, from pole to pole.

‘You could see Africa, Europe, and if you looked really close, you could see the northern lights. It was the most spectacular moment, and it paused all four of us in our tracks,’ he gushed.

The team set off on Wednesday, marking humanity’s first mission to reach the moon since 1972.

This monumental journey is expected to travel a maximum distance from Earth of 252,799 miles, crushing the Apollo 13 record by 4,144 miles.

‘We are not necessarily a crew that lives on superlatives, but this is a milestone that’s important,’ Koch said when asked how the team felt about becoming the first humans to travel this far into space.

‘We’re here to build a legacy for the future,’ she added, praising not only her crew but the entire NASA team that helped make their journey possible

The astronauts gave a warm shout out to their friends and families, thanking them for their love and support in this career milestone.

‘Living in Orion isn’t the same as being home with our families,’ Koch said, adding that the gang is trying to make their capsule ‘feel at home.’

Wiseman called the mission ‘unbelievable,’ almost unable to wrap his mind around the accomplishment.

‘This is unbelievable, that we can put our minds to something and pull it off. This is an unbelievable technical accomplishment,’ he said.

The burn completed just before 8pm lasted just under six minutes and sends the crew into free-return trajectory, which relies on the Earth and the moon’s gravity guiding the ship around the moon and back to Earth.

‘Nominal translunar injection burn complete. The Artemis II crew is officially on the way to the Moon,’ NASA Administrator Jared Isaacman wrote on X .

‘America is back in the business of sending astronauts to the Moon. This time, farther than ever before.’

After it was completed, Hansen shared a hopeful message from space.

‘Humanity has once again shown what we are capable of, and it’s your hopes for the future that carry us now on this journey around the moon,’ he told mission control, giving thanks to everyone supporting the mission from back on Earth.

Hours before the burn, NASA’s chief exploration scientist Jake Bleacher said once that milestone was cleared ‘people both up on the Orion and here on Earth [will] breathe a little easier.’

According to NASA, the burn used the orbital maneuvering system engine to provide around 6,000 pounds of thrust, which is enough to accelerate a car from 0 to 60 mph in 2.7 seconds.

‘Meanwhile, back at Kennedy Space Center, the teams are out at the pad getting ready for what comes next. We are going to get into a rhythm of launching Moon rockets around here,’ Isaacman said on X.

As Artemis II left the Earth’s surface on Wednesday, passengers on a Southwest Airlines flight captured breathtaking footage of the lunar mission launch as it happened.

Chris Pappas was among travelers who spotted the rocket as it launched while he peered out of the window and captured the scene on video.

The footage captured the clear blue skies, with only the plane’s wing in view until a line of smoke was seen trailing behind the flaming rocket in the distance.

Within seconds, the rocket had shot well beyond the plane’s view and disappeared into the sky above – leaving only the trail of smoke in the air behind it.

‘Most insane experience,’ Pappas wrote on Instagram Threads. ‘[Southwest Airlines] pilots understood the assignment.’

The video garnered over 65,000 likes, with users astonished at the incredible view.

‘I would be sobbing because this timing is unreal,’ one user commented.

Another user in awe of the footage wrote: ‘That is the best perspective ever. You actually see how f***ing fast it goes up. The perspective scale is not understood seeing it either live on TV or on the ground. Seeing it from the “side” like this, though… amazing video. So lucky.’

‘Oh my gosh, that is AMAAAAZING. What an incredible experience, I didn’t even imagine a plane would be flying around that area at all, but I guess you’re actually so far away,’ a third comment said.

‘When I was watching the launch earlier, I was already so, so, so excited to see one of these. I’m so jealous. This is an incredible video and thank you for sharing.’

Other users were amazed that flights were able to share airspace during the historic moment.

‘Why were you all flying so close to the launch? Very cool view but seems a little close for comfort,’ one wrote.

‘I’m shocked that an aircraft was allowed into that airspace,’ another said, while many other users pointed out that the launch was seen as far as 100 miles away.

‘That isn’t nearly as close as it seems. A launch can be seen from a long way away,’ one pointed out. ‘My son sent pictures of the launch from the Air Force base in Tampa Bay, over 100 miles away and from the ground.’

Artemis II took off in a blaze of glory on its mission to the moon from the Kennedy Space Center in Florida on Wednesday.

It is the furthest space exploration mission undertaken in human history, coming 57 years after American astronauts first set foot on the Moon during the Apollo 11 mission in 1969.

The countdown began at 4.44pm EST this afternoon with the rocket taking off at 6.35pm EST. Optimal weather allowed for the launch to be cleared, with backup windows scheduled through the week until April 6.

The ten-day journey saw the astronauts launch into orbit and then separate their Orion spacecraft from the launch vehicle, break out of low-Earth orbit, circle the moon and then return.

The ten-day journey saw the astronauts launch into orbit and then separate their Orion spacecraft from the launch vehicle, break out of low-Earth orbit, circle the moon and then return

The historic flight is the first step in NASA’s new multi-step to land on the moon by 2028 at the earliest.

During NASA’s post-launch press conference, space agency chief Jared Isaacman revealed Artemis II suffered a communications issue, preventing NASA from hearing the crew’s messages for a brief time.

Isaacman added that the issue was not affecting the rest of the craft and NASA would be working to figure out what caused the temporary blackout.

‘About 51 minutes into the flight, during a planned handover between satellites, the Orion spacecraft underwent a communications issue, leading to a temporary partial loss,’ Isaacman said at a press conference.

‘The uplink from Cap Com [Capsule Communication] to the crew was being heard by the crew, but we can’t hear the responses for a brief period of time,’ he added, noting the issue has been resolved.

Isaacman said, ‘There were no issues with the vehicle itself. Comms with the crew have been restored. We’re actively working the issue.’

NASA has said the Artemis campaign is about laying the groundwork for future Mars missions, harnessing space’s economic benefits and creating an enduring human presence beyond Earth.

It’s also—as is anything these days in the United States—about heading off China’s own lunar land grab: Washington wants to remain in front of Beijing’s own plans to put a man on the moon by 2030.

But Artemis appears to be the opening step in a much more consequential infrastructure race that also pits Washington against Beijing—a giant leap toward an extraterrestrial AI future.

Heated Exchange Erupts Between Jo-Ellen and Rosie Amidst Gossip Controversy; Kelsey Reevaluates Her Polyamorous Relationship

In the close-knit community of Rhode Island, where everyone seems to know each other, distinguishing between the local ladies can be quite the task. The drama is intense, and rumors spread like wildfire among the cast of the Real Housewives of Rhode Island. Despite their candid attitudes, when Kelsey Swanson hears that Rosie Woods is questioning her relationship, getting to the bottom of things becomes more challenging than she anticipated.

RHORI Premiere Recap: Jo-Ellen & Rosie Curse at Each Other During Screaming Match, Kelsey Begins to Question Her Poly Relationship After Rosie Brings Up Rumors, Liz Reveals She's Related to Husband, & Dolores Makes Her Entrance

We first meet Alicia Carmody and her large Italian family, who live a mere 15 minutes away from her—a distance she finds surprisingly inconvenient. Alicia has been engaged since she was seven months pregnant, about nine years ago, yet she seems in no rush to tie the knot. Her fiancé owns a restaurant in Rhode Island, and together, they appear to be enjoying life.

Alicia shares insights about Liz McGraw, whom she has known since birth. Dubbed “Queen Elizabeth,” Liz resides in a castle with her husband and step-daughters. The nickname suits her well, as her husband is known as the King of Cannabis while Liz reigns as the Queen of Weed. The couple jointly owns a cannabis dispensary, and there are rumors they might be distantly related, a topic that was brushed aside rather quickly.

Liz arranges a meeting with Kelsey for a boat-side chat. She has known Kelsey for some time, having grown up with Kelsey’s boyfriend. Although there’s a significant age difference between Kelsey and her boyfriend, that’s not the crux of the matter. The real issue is that Kelsey’s boyfriend spends a significant portion of the year, five months to be precise, in Miami with another girlfriend.

Liz meets up with Kelsey so she can have a boat moment and chat. She knows Kelsey because she grew up with Kelsey’s boyfriend…there is quite an age gap between Kelsey and her boyfriend, but that’s not the biggest issue.  You see, Kelsey’s boyfriend is gone for a good five months of the year, living in Miami with his other girlfriend.

Kelsey defends this man that she has been with for over ten years, considering she lives a life of luxury.  He comes from a prominent family in Rhode Island and so she has been lucky enough to be a lady of leisure.  With his help, Kelsey felt like she could compete as Miss Rhode Island and so she is forever thankful for him.  But now, she wants more.  Kelsey is longing for a committed relationship with a person and she needs to either accept what she has or leave. Is it worth giving up her lifestyle?

We meet Jo-Ellen Tiberi as she heads out to date night with her husband.  She met her hubby back in high school and admits that her big sister liked him (and may have had a fling with him), but Jo-Ellen chased him and got him in the end.  Awkward.  Jo-Ellen admits that she comes across as a b*tch, but as a mom to three kids, she has to have a soft spot. She also loves her job in aesthetic sales, teaching companies how to use the equipment.

Alicia has clicked with Rosie over the past two years.  Rosie is far more than her pink Jeep.  She was a local newscaster so everyone kind of knows her.  Rosie has been married for one year now and she explains that she met her husband when she was an intern on a morning show.

Since leaving the news, Rosie has started a lifestyle show and so she has decided to mix a segment with her friends.  She is inviting some of the girls to a picnic and plans to invite Jo-Ellen, despite things being rocky between them.  The last time Jo-Ellen and Rosie were together, Jo-Ellen was loudly talking smack about Rosie and so Rosie is a bit uncomfortable.

Jo-Ellen admits that she is not a fan of Rosie’s, but nonetheless, she attends her picnic. To help cut the tension, Rosie invites her friend, Ashley, a Virginia transplant brought to Rhode Island by her husband that she met while on Bachelor in Paradise.  Ashley has been married for 6 years and has two kids, but has yet to find a group of friends since the RI ladies are hard to infiltrate.

During the picnic, Jo-Ellen talks about Kelsey and her “life changes,” hinting in a cryptic way that Kelsey is having a problem with her relationship.  This opens the door for some questioning. Rosie is confused by Kelsey’s relationship since rumors are swirling. Nosey Rosie, a nickname she gave herself, just wants to figure out the situation Kelsey is in.

Jo-Ellen calls Rosie out for talking sh*t, but Rosie finds this hilarious considering Jo-Ellen had no problem talking sh*t about her. Rosie wonders why Jo-Ellen would even come to this picnic if she has such a big problem with her and Rosie gets emotional.  Jo-Ellen tries to start over with Rosie and wants to move on and start fresh. The true olive branch is when Jo-Ellen invites everyone to her fourth of July party, Rosie included.

Ashley and her husband own a coffee shop and lounge called Audrey’s.  It’s the second ranked celebrity owned and run place in the U.S., which is quite the feat, but a lot of that comes from her husband pouring everything into it. She wishes he would spend more time influencing and less time whipping up coffee drinks so he could be more present in their lives. Ashley fills him in on the upcoming fourth of July party and is excited to have fun with her husband.

Jo-Ellen has rented a house for her fourth of July party and is going all out, despite not knowing what the fourth of July is all about. Jo-Ellen’s mom reports for babysitting duty and Jo-Ellen reflects on how hard her mom was on her growing up.  It seems like their relationship is a bit tumultuous, but grandma did show up to help out today.

On the way to the party, Jo-Ellen wonders what might go down with Rosie.  Rosie is desperately trying to get Jo-Ellen to like her, but it seems like it’s gonna take more than champagne and fire crackers.

Our New Jersey queen, Dolores, makes her entrance with Liz, her buddy that she met at a cannabis convention a few years back.  Dolores and Paulie are staying in Rhode Island for the summer, so she has been embraced by this group of women.

The connections between these ladies are wild.  Kelsey knows Jo-Ellen because they used to work at a tanning salon together.  Fun fact: At this salon, Jo-Ellen was hooking up with the owner, and then the owner and his wife.

Jo-Ellen lets Kelsey know she stuck up for her at Rosie’s picnic.  According to Jo-Ellen, Rosie was questioning her relationship and Kelsey realizes right away that Rosie is not a girls’ girl. Kelsey gets upset when her relationship gets questioned and plans on talking with Rosie.

Jo-Ellen decides that as the hostess, she will greet Rosie, despite what she’s been hearing. Alicia points out that Kelsey came solo, but from day one, Kelsey’s relationship had rules that she agreed to and that’s that.

While getting a caricature done, Kelsey explains that she has yet to talk to Rosie about her smack talking. She tells Jo-Ellen that she can’t understand why Rosie can’t stop talking about her relationship.

Side note: Liz admits that she went to Dolores’s surgeon and dentist, which might explain why they look like twins…

Later, Kelsey calls Rosie over to talk about the picnic rumors. Kelsey just wants to know who was talking about her relationship. Rosie innocently states that Jo-Ellen brought up the hard time Kelsey has been going through with her boyfriend and so that got Rosie thinking. Now Kelsey is confused. She is unsure who is being honest. Kelsey understands that rumors are just part of this state, but trying to get to the truth is going to be hard to do…

WHAT ARE YOUR THOUGHTS ON THE RHORI PREMIERE EPISODE?

Vegeta Secures a Landmark Victory Over Goku in Dragon Ball Series

0

Dragon Ball enthusiasts can once again savor a rare moment when Vegeta triumphs over Goku, thanks to a beloved feature from the official archives.

The newest installment of the Toriyama Archives on the official Dragon Ball website presents fans with a nostalgic look at a classic artwork capturing one of Vegeta’s few legitimate victories against Goku. Interestingly, this showdown did not unfold on a traditional battlefield but rather in a setting that closely resembles a Super Famicom gaming console.

Originally released in 1993 as part of a promotional pamphlet, the artwork has been reissued with a caption stating, “Inside the Jump Multi World pamphlet, celebrating the 25th anniversary of Weekly Shonen Jump, we find a draft of a 4-panel comic strip. Titled ‘Friendship, Diligence, Victory,’ it humorously depicts Vegeta achieving victory over Goku in a video game! It’s amusing to see how even a game can lead these two to transform into Super Saiyans and engage in a full-blown competition.”

The art, originally published in 1993 for a promo pamphlet, was republished with a caption reading, “Here we have a 4-panel comic strip draft printed inside the Jump Multi World pamphlet, celebrating the 25th anniversary of Weekly Shonen Jump. Titled ‘Friendship, Diligence, Victory,’ it features Vegeta finally seizing victory over Goku in a video game! It’s utterly hilarious how even a video game is enough to make these two transform into Super Saiyans and duke it out in earnest.”

Vegeta has been Goku’s premier rival since the character’s introduction in Chapter 204 of the original Dragon Ball manga, “Sayonara, Son Goku,” in 1989. Like Goku, Vegeta is one of the few survivors of the destruction of their home world, although his trajectory as a character couldn’t be further from that of the Dragon Ball protagonist.

In his earliest appearances, Vegeta served as one of the Dragon Ball franchise’s most fearsome antagonists. In the decades since then, however, Vegeta has evolved into a more well-rounded, understandable figure, albeit one whose temper is still exceptionally short and whose rage knows almost no bounds.

Fans looking for more Goku and Vegeta action can rest easy knowing that they will be receiving just that when the next Dragon Ball Super anime arrives. Announced earlier this year, Dragon Ball Super: Galactic Patrol was teased during the Dragon Ball Genkidamatsuri event with a promo image featuring the two Saiyans in their usual outfits, save for the addition of the Galactic Patrol symbol on each.

Dragon Ball Super: Galactic Patrol will adapt the hit Galactic Patrol Prisoner Saga arc from the Dragon Ball Super manga, which marked the introduction of the villainous Moro. A powerful sorcerer, Moro escapes his imprisonment before setting out draining the life force from various worlds in order to maintain his own youth.

Although Galactic Patrol doesn’t yet have a confirmed release date, it is likely that the series will premiere some time in 2027 or 2028. Until then, fans will have to look forward to Dragon Ball Super: Beerus, which is slated to be released later this year as a partial remake and remaster of the first Dragon Ball Super anime story arc.

The cast of Dragon Ball Z, including characters such as Son Goku, Vegeta and Piccolo, among others, leaps towards the camera in the poster for the show.
