Jay Binder has passed away at 71. On April 15, 2022, the broadway casting director died peacefully at his home.

Binder was one of the founders and key person behind Encores! which has successfully revived more than 80 musicals. It is  Tony-honored concert series dedicated to performing rarely heard American musicals along with their original orchestrations.

The cause of his death seems to be natural as he died peacefully at his home. More details are yet to be released as there have been no official statements released.

Boardway World shared the news of Binder’s death as they shared an obituary for the casting director.

Despite all his contributions to broadway musicals, Jay Binder isn’t featured on Wikipedia.

Binder received eleven Artios Awards in his career which is the highest honor in casting. Similarly, he was also awarded the 2019 Amas Repertory Theatre’s Life Time Achievement Award.

In a double-overtime loss to FGCU in the West Palm Beach Invitational on December 20, 2021, she set a new school record with 50 points, shooting 17-of-28 from the field and 15-of-17 from the charity stripe.
