ONTARIO, Calif. — A person suspected of arson was taken into custody following a dramatic blaze at a warehouse in Ontario, California, which demanded an extensive response from emergency personnel throughout the night.
The Ontario Fire Department reported the fire erupted around 12:30 a.m. on Tuesday near Hellman and Merrill avenues. Over 100 firefighters were deployed to tackle the inferno, which lit up the surroundings with a vivid orange glow.
Firefighters continued to combat the blaze for several hours as it ravaged the 1.2 million-square-foot warehouse.
Witnesses in the vicinity reported hearing a loud explosion at the onset of the fire, leading to multiple emergency calls.
“The nature of the fire was quickly deemed suspicious,” stated Deputy Chief Mike Wedell. “An individual of interest was swiftly identified and subsequently apprehended.”
Wedell added that individual was taken to the police department to be interviewed by detectives.
The warehouse itself is a Kimberly-Clark site, a company that specializes in paper-based personal care and hygiene products.
There were employees inside the warehouse when the fire started, but they all managed to safely evacuate.
Taylor Frankie Paul has sought legal protection from her former partner, Dakota Mortensen, following allegations of domestic abuse.
According to the Daily Mail, Paul officially requested a protective order against Mortensen on Tuesday, April 7. While specifics of the filing remain confidential, the action underscores the seriousness of the claims.
Documents reviewed by People reveal that Paul accuses Mortensen of engaging in a “pattern of abusive conduct and coercive control” throughout their time together. She has also detailed multiple instances where she alleges he acted violently towards her.
As part of her case, Paul has provided purported screenshots of text exchanges and photographs of bruises she claims resulted from confrontations with Mortensen.
This legal move comes on the heels of Mortensen obtaining a temporary restraining order against Paul, linked to an alleged altercation that occurred in February 2026.
Paul alleged Mortensen ‘assaulted’ her in a February 23 incident, claiming he slammed ‘her head against the dashboard of his truck and striking her knee and elbow’, according to the documents.

She claimed he did so after he drove her away from her residence against her will. Her three children were allegedly sleeping inside the home at the time.

The Draper City Police Department confirmed to People at the time the existence of an open ‘domestic assault investigation’ into Paul and Mortensen.
‘Allegations have been made in both directions,’ a spokesman for the department told the publication, adding ‘contact was made with involved parties on [February] 24 and 25.’
It came three years after Paul pleaded guilty to aggravated assault over another domestic violence incident with Mortensen.

In response to the resurfaced footage, Paul’s representative told the Daily Mail, ‘It’s sad to see the latest installment of his never-ending, desperate, attention-seeking, destructive campaign to harm Taylor without any regard for the consequences for their child.

Authorities in Washington, D.C. apprehended nearly a dozen juveniles over the weekend following a series of “teen takeovers.” These gatherings reportedly saw groups of young people engaging in street brawls and allegedly assaulting police officers.
The disturbances erupted around 8:30 p.m. on Saturday, prompting a police response to several incidents in the city’s southwest region, according to a report by FOX 5.
Investigators noted that large assemblies of teenagers convened between the Navy Yard curfew area and the Wharf, just outside the zones designated by officials for the weekend’s curfew enforcement.

“They’re coming from Maryland, they’re coming from Virginia, they’re coming from all over just to be disrespectful here in Ward Six, we’re like some ‘Meeting Zone,'” a local resident expressed to FOX 5.
The first fight broke out in the 1300 block of Canal Street, where officers took a 17-year-old boy, a 15-year-old girl and a 12-year-old girl into custody, the outlet reported.
Just minutes later, a second fight started near First Street and N Street SW, resulting in a 15-year-old boy being arrested for allegedly assaulting a police officer.

Another large altercation broke out in the same area around 9 p.m., in which multiple juveniles began attacking officers, the outlet reported.
The fight resulted in the arrests of two girls, aged 15 and 16, for allegedly fighting in public.

Additionally, two 14-year-olds, one boy and one girl, were taken into custody on charges of assaulting a police officer, fighting and resisting arrest, FOX 5 reported.
Video taken by a bystander in the area shows a mob of juveniles throwing punches on the street, with one group surrounding an officer before scattering in different directions.
Ultimately, authorities arrested eight teens in connection to the fights over the weekend, according to the outlet.
“The parents need to get more involved, you know,” one resident told FOX 5. “Kids are going to be kids, but the parents really, really need to focus on what their children are doing.”
The brawls came as the Department of Parks and Recreation hosted evening events geared toward teens Friday and Saturday, while also enacting five juvenile curfew zones throughout D.C. over the weekend.
The order reportedly restricts anyone under the age of 18 from gathering in unsanctioned groups of nine or more in public spaces, with a separate citywide curfew being enacted nightly from 11 p.m. to 6 a.m.
Currently, the Juvenile Curfew Second Temporary Amendment Act of 2025 permits authorities to establish curfew zones in high-volume areas to maintain public safety.
Earlier this week, members of the city’s council reportedly opted to revisit emergency legislation that would have extended officials’ authority to impose teen curfews when the law expires next month.
The Metropolitan Police Department did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital’s request for comment.

A Minnesota woman faces charges of vehicular homicide after allegedly hitting and killing a pedestrian and attempting to cover up the damage to her vehicle—an incident reportedly captured on video.
Gabryella Liebgott, 22, has been charged with three counts of vehicular homicide following the hit-and-run death of college student Seham Hassen, also 22, on March 22. According to a probable cause affidavit reviewed by Law&Crime, Liebgott’s Infiniti G35 sedan was brought to an auto repair shop specializing in vinyl wrapping over a week after the tragic event. Investigators from the Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office, upon examining the vehicle, identified damage matching a car believed to be involved in the incident.
Authorities stated that video footage from a Tesla parked near the scene of the fatal accident had captured the car in question.
According to police reports, Hassen was out with friends in St. Paul, Minnesota, at approximately 3 a.m. on March 22. As the group exited their vehicle, Hassen was struck by a speeding car while attempting to cross the street. The impact was so severe that “remnants of her clothing were torn from her body and were scattered in the street,” and the car’s side mirror was left behind.
Hassen was transported to the hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries. She was only months away from graduating from the University of St. Thomas.
Police wrote that a Tesla parked in the same neighborhood captured the entire incident. According to the probable cause statement, Hassen was seen trying to turn away from the road and avoid the car that was speeding toward her, but “didn’t have time.” The impact sent Hassen onto the windshield of the car that struck her, then she fell beneath the car, which ran her over.
The suspect vehicle then sped away without stopping.
On March 30, the Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office was made aware of a car at an auto repair shop that had a ripped-off side mirror and damage similar to the suspect vehicle seen on the Tesla’s video. Investigators spoke to the shop’s owner, who told them that he got a call on March 23 from someone who wanted to bring their car in for vinyl wrapping “but also wanted the vehicle to be stored at the shop for a period of time.”
The owner told investigators that the person who called said they were going to order parts to repair the car at a later time. Police said the owner found this “strange,” because normally repairs were completed before vinyl wrapping was applied. According to the probable cause statement, a woman named “Gabby” dropped the car off and provided her phone number, but never came back for the car. Police ran the car’s registration and traced it to Liebgott.
Police inspected the car in question and said they found damage consistent with the damage that the suspect vehicle would have sustained in the crash. While the car was processed at the Minneapolis Police Forensic Garage, investigators found blood and fibers that matched the dress Hassen was wearing when she was killed.
According to the probable cause statement, police were able to figure out where Liebgott was during the early morning hours of March 22. Police said she was out drinking with two friends at a local VFW hall, where her ID was swiped upon entry around 1 a.m. Liebgott and her friends left the VFW around 2 a.m., and her car was seen “speeding recklessly” and “swerving” into oncoming traffic.
Police interviewed both of Liebgott’s friends, who said all three of them were drinking that night. The friend who was sitting in the front passenger seat as Liebgott drove told police that she remembered “striking something hard and immediately seeing white fabric draped across the windshield.” The friend who was in the back seat asked Liebgott if she had hit something, to which she replied that she had, and her mirror was gone. According to the probable cause statement, the friends said Liebgott “considered stopping” but accelerated instead.
Both women told police that they, along with several others, urged Liebgott to turn herself in.
Liebgott was arrested on April 3 and charged with three counts of vehicular homicide. She is currently in custody at the Hennepin County Jail, where she is being held on $150,000 bail. Her first court appearance was scheduled for Tuesday.
ALACHUA, Fla. – Authorities in Alachua are delving into a shooting incident that took place late Sunday night, resulting in property damage that was only identified the next morning. Fortunately, no injuries have been reported.
On the night of April 5, 2026, just after 11 p.m., the Alachua Police Department (APD) received two separate reports about hearing around 10 gunshots near the 7400 block of NW 128th Place, within the Oaks of Hague subdivision. Officers quickly arrived at the location and carried out an extensive search but found no individuals, vehicles, or evidence of any suspicious activities during the night.
The following morning, on April 6, 2026, at about 10:20 a.m., the owner of Trinity Car Sales LLC, situated at 12559 NW US Hwy 441, alerted the police to a shattered front door at their business. Upon investigation, officers discovered several bullet holes in the building and damage to multiple vehicles on the premises.
The Alachua County Sheriff’s Office Forensics Unit was called in to assist with the investigation, meticulously processing the scene for evidence.
While officers were still on scene, APD received an additional call from a nearby residence located behind the business. The resident reported finding bullet holes in their home. Officers responded and located projectiles that had struck the residence, which were recovered as evidence.
This case remains an active and ongoing investigation.

In a heartfelt video message shared by her New York church on Easter Sunday, Guthrie expressed her struggle with moments of profound disappointment in God, describing feelings of complete abandonment.
However, she emphasized that the true meaning of the resurrection cannot be fully embraced without acknowledging the accompanying emotions of loss, pain, and even death.
In announcing her return to NBC’s flagship morning show, Guthrie said she was uncertain whether she’ll feel like she still belongs.
“I can’t come back and try to be something that I’m not. But I can’t not come back because it’s my family.”

The Guthrie family has offered a $US1 million ($1,440,000) reward for information leading to the recovery of their mother.
Authorities believe Nancy Guthrie was kidnapped, abducted or otherwise taken against her will after finding blood near the doorstep of her home in the foothills outside Tucson. The FBI later released surveillance videos showing a masked man on the porch that night.
Volunteers and search teams scoured the nearby desert terrain filled with cactuses, bushes and boulders in the first weeks after she vanished.
But attention has faded from an investigation that was declared to be a top priority for the FBI and local authorities. Investigators have not released new evidence in weeks and say the number of tips has slowed. The FBI and the Pima County Sheriff’s Department both said late last week that they had no updates.
Early on, some media outlets reported receiving ransom messages tied to the case. Guthrie said she and her siblings responded to two that they believed were real and offered to pay.
Guthrie said her celebrity status might be the reason her mother was taken but that possibility was “too much to bear”.

A Washington woman displayed an unsettling demeanor in court as she received her sentence for the murder of her father. Alyssa Bradburn, 33, was sentenced on April 2 to nearly 28 years in prison for the first-degree murder of her father, Timothy Bradburn. This verdict was announced by the Spokane County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office.
Throughout the trial, prosecutors observed that Bradburn maintained a stoic presence, often wearing a smile on her face. During her testimony, she expressed an unexpected enjoyment of the trial process itself, yet acknowledged her guilt by stating that she deserved punishment and was ready to accept her sentence.
The incident that led to this conviction occurred on June 25, 2024, when Alyssa called 911 to report that she had shot her father. The shooting took place as Timothy Bradburn was returning home from a vacation in Hawaii. Details from court records and evidence presented during the trial painted a grim picture of the premeditated act.
She explained during her own testimony, according to prosecutors, that “she enjoyed the trial experience but that she deserved to be punished and would accept her sentence.”
What Were the Allegations Against Alyssa Bradburn?
According to court records and evidence presented at the trial, Alyssa called 911 on June 25, 2024, to report that she shot her father as he was returning from a vacation in Hawaii.
“Bradburn told dispatchers that her father’s body was in the entryway of their home in Northwest Spokane,” prosecutors said, “and that she would be sitting outside waiting for police.”
When detectives arrived on the scene, Alyssa told them that she shot her father twice in the chest and once in the head “to make sure he was dead” as he was walking through the front door with his suitcase.
The medical examiner ultimately determined, however, that Timothy had been shot four, and not three, times.
“Prior to killing her father, Bradburn practiced aiming the gun in the home and got help loading the firearm at a gun range,” prosecutors said. “Bradburn said she began planning to kill her father about three weeks prior and began journaling about it four days prior.”
The 33-year-old initially told police that she shot her father in self-defense because he had been abusive to her and was violent with her dogs, however, KXLY reported, she later recanted those claims.
Trace Bradburn Addresses Court During Sentencing
During the sentencing, her brother Trace Bradburn spoke of the impact his father’s death has had on his life.
“I just have to live my life with that,” he said, according to KXLY, “and it just guts me every day.”
He added that the “false accusations” that his sister made against his father have “deeply tarnished his memory.”
“That is devastating to me,” he explained, “because my dad was an amazing man and he never did anything to hurt anyone.”
Prosecutors argued for a maximum sentence of 380 months, which included an enhancement for using a firearm in the crime, according to the statement from authorities.
Meanwhile, her defense attorney Brian Raymon advocated for a lesser sentence of 240 months with a 60 month enhancement for the firearm, arguing during the court proceedings that she suffered from a mental illness.
Raymon explained, per KXLY, that “Ms. Bradburn suffers from a state where she sometimes blurs fantasy with reality.”
Judge Julie McKay imposed a sentence in between the two recommendations, ultimately sentencing Alyssa to 280 months for the murder and an additional 60-month sentence enhancement for the firearm.
“It felt a bit to this court, as if Ms. Bradburn felt like she was on stage,” McKay said while handing down the sentence, according to KREM 2, “and we were all just being performed for.”

The last Peruvian leader to complete a full term was Ollanta Humala, a leftist former president, whose administration ended in 2016. Humala, along with his wife Nadine Heredia, is currently serving a 15-year sentence due to corruption convictions in April 2025.
This Sunday’s election will see a crowded field of 35 candidates representing a wide political spectrum. Due to the sheer number of contenders, no polls predict that any single candidate will secure the necessary 50% majority to win outright in the first round. Should this occur, a runoff election between the top two candidates is planned for Sunday, June 7.
As per the terms of Peru’s electoral law, polling firms released their final round of poll on Sunday, a week before the election, as local laws forbid anyone from publishing electoral-related surveys on the week of the election. A period of electoral silence in Peru is presently in place as of Monday.
According to the results from Peru’s three main polling firms — all three conducted between April 1-6 — Keiko Fujimori has virtually secured her spot in the prospective June runoff. Datum International’s survey found that Fujimori is leading the 35-candidate race with 14.5 percent of respondents expressing their intention to vote for her, followed by Peruvian comedian and television host Carlos Alvarez in second place, with 10.9 percent. Per Datum’s survey, Rafael Lopez Aliaga, the conservative former major of Lima, is in third place with 9.9 percent support. Another 16.8 percent of respondents expressed that they are undecided.
Fujimori, 50, is the eldest daughter of former President Alberto Fujimori, a strongman conservative who ruled Peru between 1990 to 2000 and who oversaw the crushing of the communist insurgency group Shinning Path in the 1990s. Former President Fujimori had served roughly half of a 25-year prison sentence on human rights abuses by the time he was released on humanitarian grounds in 2023. He passed away in September 2024 following a lengthy battle with cancer. Keiko served as first lady of Peru after her parents divorced.
The 2026 presidential election in Peru marks the fourth time Keiko Fujimori has run for the office, following three consecutive narrow losses in 2011, 2016, and 2021. If elected president, Fujimori and her Popular Force party vowed to enact a government based on “order, economy, and social” pillars. She has also promised an economic recovery program for Peru reminiscent of the one implemented by her father in the 1990s, seeking to “restore confidence” in the country through strong government intervention, deregulation, technological innovation, fiscal discipline, and a social market approach. Fujimori has also vowed a tough stance against crime and corruption.
Similar survey results showing Fujimori in the lead, albeit with slightly different percentages across all top candidates, were presented by polling firm Ipsos in its final poll. On Sunday, the Peruvian Market Research Company (CPI) presented the results of its survey to the local broadcaster RPP. Much like Datum International and Ipsos, CPI found that Fujimori is leading the race, but according to its results, López Aliaga is in second place and Álvarez is in third.
In addition to choosing one of the 35 presidential candidates, Peruvian voters will also choose 30 national-level senators and 130 congressmen, and five members of the regional Andean Parliament, while residents of Lima’s metropolitan area and Peruvians abroad will choose their regional Senators. According to Peru’s ONPE electoral authority, 27 million voters are eligible to participate on Sunday. Voters must present their National Identity Card to be able to cast a vote. Voting in Peru is compulsory unless the voter is at least 70 years old.

An American woman who vanished in the Bahamas after an accident during a boating excursion with her husband has been identified.
Lynette Hooker, a 55-year-old resident of Onsted, Michigan, fell into the waters of the Abaco Islands while she and her husband were on a boat trip from Hope Town to Elbow Cay this past Saturday.
Her husband, Brian Hooker, aged 58, informed the Royal Bahamas Police Force (RBF) that they embarked on their journey at approximately 7:30 p.m. aboard an 8-foot dinghy.
The duo was en route to their yacht, named Soulmate, when Brian reported that Lynette slipped and fell overboard due to unfavorable weather conditions, according to Stafford Patterson, the Assistant Chief of Hope Town Volunteer Fire & Rescue, in an interview with ABC News.
The RBF noted that “strong currents subsequently carried her away, and [Brian] lost sight of her.”
Patterson added that it was unclear whether Lynette was wearing a life jacket.
Police said the 55-year-old was holding the boat key when she fell, which caused the dinghy’s engine to shut off.

Brian then paddled the boat through the night, reaching a marina around 4am Sunday, according to Patterson.
He told an individual at the marina what happened to his wife, who then contacted authorities, according to the RBPF.
Bahamian and US authorities continue a joint search-and-rescue operation, with the US Coast Guard deploying an aircraft to aid the effort, Patterson said.
Lynette’s daughter, Karli Aylesworth, released a statement on Monday about the incident.
‘I have been privy to very little information. My sole concern is to find out what happened to my mother and make sure a full and complete investigation is performed into her disappearance,’ she said.
‘While the Royal Bahamian police are investigating this matter, I would also appreciate any involvement of the federal, state or local authorities to look into the circumstances of this tragic situation,’ Aylesworth added.

The investigation remains ongoing as the search for Lynette continues.
The Bahamas currently has a level two travel advisory, warning visitors to exercise increased caution due to increased crime and swimming-related risks.
In summary, the advisory cited violent crimes, such as armed robberies, burglaries, and sexual assaults, as well as the lack of regulation around boating, which has led to injury and death.
