CASTLE ROCK, SD — In a show of support, South Dakotans are rallying around Byron Noem, husband of DHS Secretary Kristi Noem, despite his unusual taste for hot pants and exaggerated fake breasts.
The people of the Mount Rushmore State are staunchly defending the former first husband following revelations about his cross-dressing and interest in a “bimbofication” fetish.
“You should have some compassion, he’s a dad,” remarked a stern employee at a Watertown strip club when asked about the controversy by The Post.

Echoing this sentiment, a bartender at the establishment added, “We see them more as parents than politicians.”
In the wake of the scandal’s emergence last week, the former DHS chief expressed her shock through a spokesperson, stating that she was “devastated” by her husband’s involvement in the “bimbofication” community, describing the family’s reaction as being completely “blindsided” by the news.
Her wayward hubby compounded the humiliation in a series of saucy message exchanges first reported by the Daily Mail, including multiple selfies wearing massive fake breasts, some with his face fully visible.
The Post staked out the Noem family home, which has been locked down by the Secret Service, but there was little sign of domestic activity over the Easter weekend.
At one point, a new black SUV briefly pulled into the driveway before departing with another vehicle and speeding down the highway toward Minneapolis.
“I don’t think they’re in town. When they’re in town, you know it, a bartender at a local watering hole, who asked not to be named, said.
The suds-slinger said the Noems were a topic of gossip around town even before the scandal broke.
“We don’t think of them as hometown heroes, just hometown people,” she said.
Bryon Noem was described by people who knew him in South Dakota as “a good man.”
Several people claimed to know the clinic where Kristi Noem has gotten cosmetic surgery over the years, and claimed one of the couple’s daughters was arrested for marijuana possession in high school, though The Post was unable to independently substantiate it.
Another bartender — working at a restaurant called The Local — said the Noems have been there before, but not lately.
“Secret Service was in here, though. They took up the entire bar … I don’t know where they are now, I know there’s security at the house.”
A pair of men playing poker at a local casino claimed to know the couple, one saying he had the former governor’s number saved in his phone.
“All I will tell you is he’s a good man,” the other gambler said of Bryon, whom he said he knew.
The Post stopped by several of the Noems’ known haunts in Watertown, including feed stores and Kristi’s mother’s favorite restaurant, but patrons were reluctant to share any gossip about the couple and their unconventional marriage.

For the obscure-film buffs, “The Legend of Ganjasaurus Rex” examines the production of what some critics at the time called “one of the worst movies of all time,” “Ganjasaurus Rex.” A small budget movie about weed farmers fighting off a kaiju lizard, the film was made in protest against the War on Drugs during the 80’s and became a Humboldt County cult classic.
Finally, “Bong Voyage” explores the hand-blown glass art involved in crafting marijuana paraphernalia, as well as the federal government crackdown on producing such equipment during Operation Pipe Dreams.
All four short films will be fittingly released just in time for 4/20 this year.

Donald Trump has disclosed remarkable new insights into a bold rescue mission aimed at saving a wounded American airman who was stranded in Iran for nearly two days.
On Monday, the former President detailed a comprehensive operation involving 155 aircraft, including 64 fighter jets, 48 refueling tankers, 13 rescue planes, three helicopters, and additional support.
Trump praised the operation as a “breathtaking display of skill, precision, lethality, and force” as U.S. forces navigated the rugged terrain of southern Iran to rescue the weapons systems officer whose F-15E fighter jet crashed on Good Friday.
Describing the officer’s resilience, Trump noted, “He scaled cliff faces while bleeding heavily, communicated with his platoon, administered first aid to his injuries, and connected with American forces.” The rescue was completed by Easter Sunday.
Trump acknowledged that some military officials were hesitant about the mission, citing the potential risk to many lives. “God was watching us,” he added.
The pilot was rescued the day of the crash after both airmen ejected over enemy territory, but the WSO had remained missing.
The President noted how the WSO was able to activate a ‘beeper’ that showed US forces where to search for him, leading to the airman’s rescue and likely saving the soldier’s life. ‘It was like finding a needle in a haystack,’ Trump said.
Trump also lashed out at the media for reporting that the second airman was still missing, accusing outlets of alerting the Iranians to a target. He warned that ‘the person that did the story will go to jail’ if they refuse to reveal their source.

An F-15 airman was rescued in a daring mission on Saturday evening after the fighter jet was shot down by Iranian forces. The pilot was safely ejected and rescued by two military helicopters that same day, but the airman remained missing
Trump revealed that US forces blew up their own planes before leaving because they had become bogged down in the makeshift runway at the extraction point.
Iran’s military said two US C-130 military transport planes and two Black Hawk helicopters were destroyed during the operation.
‘We blew up the old planes,’ Trump said. ‘We blew them up to smithereens.’
‘It was sandy, wet sand, so we thought there may be a problem taking off because of the weight of the plane,’ he continued. ‘And then we also had all the men jumping back onto the planes, and they got pretty well bogged down.’
The President said US forces used a ‘farm not a runway’ to land and execute the search and rescue operation.
Trump said the US military had a ‘contingency plan’ for exactly that scenario, ‘which was pretty unbelievable. Where lighter, faster aircraft came in and they took them out.
He said the old planes were destroyed ‘because we had equipment on the planes’ they the US didn’t want in enemy hands.
‘We didn’t want anybody examining our anti-aircraft equipment and other equipment. So these were large planes that were old, pretty old, and we blew them up,’ Trump divulged.

The downed airman first made contact by radioing in ‘God is good,’ Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth recounted, adding ‘we leave no man behind.’
The plane’s callsign was ‘Dude 44,’ said Chairman of the Joint Chiefs General Dan Caine, with scores of aircraft scrambled within hours.
Caine praised the swift recovery of the pilot on Friday and the planning that went into rescuing the WSO.
The general said a special operations force fought their way in to extract the downed WSO in the early hours of Sunday, pressing on into daylight.
‘We will always bring overwhelming skill and firepower,’ the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs added.
When Trump was asked how many servicemembers were involved in the mission, Caine interjected: ‘I’d love to keep that a secret.’
‘OK, well … but I will tell you the number. I’ll keep it a secret. But it was hundreds and hundreds of these people,’ the President responded.
Later at the briefing, Trump threatened to unleash hell on Iran if it fails to strike a deal, warning the country faces further destruction.

‘The entire country can be taken out in one night, and that night might be tomorrow night,’ the President said, adding fuel to his previous threat that he’d target Iran’s infrastructure.
When asked whether the war was wrapping up or escalating – scenarios that Trump has both teased – the President gave a clarifying answer.
‘I don’t know. I can’t tell. It depends what they do,’ Trump said.
The President was later asked whether Iran simply had to make a deal to meet his deadline – or open the Strait or Hormuz – or both.
‘We have to have a deal that is acceptable to me,’ he said. ‘And part of that deal is going to be, we want free traffic of oil and everything.’
How the daring extraction unfolded
A F-15 E Strike Eagle is apparently hit by Iranian fire. Tehran said it is deploying new anti-aircraft weapons and there are suspicions an advanced passive infrared detection system was used to guide a missile. Both pilot and weapons systems officer eject.
Weapons systems officer, a lieutenant colonel, is injured during the ejection and becomes separated from the pilot. US special forces HH-60W Jolly Green 2 helicopters fly in and come under fire from Iranians. They rescue the pilot but are unable to reach the other crewman. Two helicopters are hit and the crew are injured but they are able to escape Iranian airspace. An A-10 Warthog was also hit by fire and later crashed in the Strait of Hormuz. An MC-130J refuelling aircraft is filmed fuelling two helicopters over the crash site. Iranians are also filmed firing at one rescue helicopter.
The Weapons Systems Officer starts hiking away from the wreck site and evades detection by Iranian Forces. Armed with just a hand gun and injured but mobile, the senior officer headed for higher ground. The experienced colonel used his SERE training (Survival, Evasion, Resistance, and Escape), an escape doctrine drilled into every American combat aircrew. He activated his emergency beacon and lay low, waiting for an unlikely rescue. Although he could use his emergency beacon to contact rescuers, it also risked giving his location away to the enemy.
American forces hunt for the officer, while he hiked at least 20 kilometres and climbed 7,000 feet up a mountain. He is eventually located by the CIA, although it is unclear how. The CIA starts a deception operation to convince Iranians that the officer has already been rescued. MQ-9 Reaper Drones watch over the officer and attack any Iranians who get within 3 kilometres of his location. Two drones were shot down and they attacked mulitple Iran Revolutionary Guard Corps search parties. Iranian media offers a $60,000 reward for the capture of the officer.
US special forces launch a second rescue mission with commandos from the elite SEAL Team 6, also known as DEVGRU and land at a desert airstrip near the town of Mahyar. The Navy Seals fly in four MH-6 Little Birds and rescue the officer from the mountain top, before returning to the desert airstrip.
The two C-130 aircraft got stuck in the dirt at the desert landing strip, forcing the US to deploy three new Dash-8 rescue aircrafts. The commandos blow up the two stuck aircraft and at least one helicopter, to deny them to the enemy, before making their escape.

A Nevada resident, Maurice Vanderhall, confessed to police that he had killed his girlfriend after stabbing her 20 times in the face and neck while she was in the process of moving out of their shared condominium.
The victim, 26-year-old Kennedi Oriti, returned to the Clark County condo she shared with her 28-year-old partner, Vanderhall, for a final check to ensure she had all her belongings and to bid farewell. It was during this visit that Vanderhall launched his brutal attack, as detailed in an arrest report obtained by local CBS station KLAS.
According to online court records accessed by Law&Crime, Vanderhall has admitted to the crime and entered a guilty plea on March 17, facing charges of second-degree murder with a deadly weapon.
Henderson Police apprehended Vanderhall on December 2, 2025, following a distress call made around 6:30 p.m. that Tuesday, reporting the stabbing incident. Upon reaching the apartment complex on the 200 block of West Horizon Ridge Parkway, approximately 17 miles southwest of Las Vegas, officers found Oriti with multiple stab wounds to her face and neck, while Vanderhall was discovered drenched in blood, according to the arrest documentation.
A family friend who had been assisting Oriti with the move stated that Oriti had gone back inside the apartment for a final goodbye to Vanderhall. After she failed to return, the friend made several unsuccessful attempts to reach her by phone.
After attacking Oriti, Vanderhall stabbed himself multiple times in the forearm and knee, according to the arrest report. He told investigators that he was attempting to die by suicide and also tried to hang himself inside a closet. Three different knives were found covered in blood inside the condo, including a butcher knife.
Oriti was murdered just five days before her 27th birthday.
“I have so many beautiful memories with Kennedi and my heart breaks knowing she is gone,” a friend posted on Oriti’s online obituary page, while sharing photos of them together on a group trip to Las Vegas at the end of October. “I watched her grow so much. I was and am so proud of her,” the friend said.
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Authorities apprehended 43-year-old Marquel Shawn Harris last night on a series of charges, including allegedly assaulting an officer by biting, driving under the influence, illegal possession of a firearm by a felon, resisting arrest without violence, and operating a vehicle with a suspended license.
Around 9 p.m. on April 4, police officers in Gainesville responded to a vehicle rollover incident in the 1200 block of NE 53rd Avenue. Upon arrival, officers found Harris standing near a car that had overturned and ended up on its side among the trees. Harris reportedly declared that he was merely trying to make his way home when other drivers “cut him off,” indirectly indicating he was driving the overturned vehicle.
While inspecting the scene, an officer spotted a handgun resting on the driver’s side window. Another officer secured the weapon as the first officer reviewed Harris’s criminal background, discovering three prior felony convictions.
The officer observed signs of intoxication in Harris, noting his watery, glassy eyes, slurred speech, and unsteady stance. Harris was subsequently taken to a nearby hospital to receive medical evaluation.
A third officer spoke with one of the other drivers and estimated that the damage to that victim’s car was about $6,000.
At the hospital, the first officer reported that a nurse supervisor told him that Harris’s blood alcohol level was 0.314%, almost four times the legal limit of 0.08%.
Post Miranda, Harris reportedly said multiple times that he did not understand his rights and then said he was “pleading the fifth.” Harris reportedly refused to provide a blood sample; the officer reported that he also has a previous refusal.
When officers adjusted Harris’s handcuffs so he could sign the discharge paperwork from the hospital, Harris allegedly pulled away. When the first officer walked over to assist and reached across Harris’s body to help secure his left arm, Harris allegedly bit the officer, leaving a long abrasion that broke the skin.
Harris has been charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, battery on a law enforcement officer, DUI with property damage, resisting an officer without violence, and driving with a suspended license; the first officer noted that Harris’s license was suspended in January 2026 for refusal to submit to a breath, blood, or urine test. He has three local felony convictions (non-violent) and 14 local misdemeanor convictions (non-violent), including a DUI conviction. Judge William Davis set bail at $70,000.

Tyler Robinson, accused of attempting to assassinate Charlie Kirk, has officially requested a court order to exclude all cameras and microphones from a pivotal hearing set for April 17. This motion, filed on Sunday, aims to limit media coverage during the proceedings.
During this upcoming hearing, Robinson is expected to appear in court as both the prosecution and defense present numerous motions. The decision on whether electronic media will be permitted for the duration of the trial has yet to be determined by Judge Tony Graf.
Robinson, who faces charges related to the shooting of Charlie Kirk, was last seen in a courtroom during a session at the 4th District Court in Provo on February 3, 2026.

She said the defense asking only to ban electronic media for the April 17 hearing could be indicative of a larger strategy, and that they may ask to bar media on a hearing-by-hearing basis. That way, if Graf rules against them, they will only lose the motion for one specific hearing, and not for all of the proceedings moving forward.

“There were cameras all over my husband when he was murdered,” she told Fox News’ Jesse Watters in an exclusive interview in November. “There have been cameras all over my friends and family mourning. There have been cameras all over me, analyzing my every move, analyzing my every smile, my every tear. We deserve to have cameras in there.”
“Why not be transparent?” Kirk continued. “There’s nothing to hide. I know there’s not because I’ve seen what the case is built on.”
Prosecutors also filed a response to a motion filed by Robinson’s team last week, asking the court a May 18 preliminary hearing back. The defense is asking to push back the preliminary hearing until expert discovery is complete, and prosecutors argue that the hearing should be held on the scheduled date.

The state argues that the defense is trying to confer upon itself rights during the preliminary stage of the trial that it is not entitled to until the actual trial itself, and that discovery is meant to be reserved for the trial, not preliminary proceedings.
Rotunno agrees that the defense has been given enough discovery leeway in the preliminary stage of the court proceedings, and that the hearing should remain scheduled for May 18.

A woman from Florida leaped into the ocean to aid a swimmer in distress, only to discover later that she might have been assisting a suspect in a double murder case.
Known only as Belinda, she recounted to WPBF that during her morning stroll along Riomar Beach in Vero Beach on March 24, she heard someone faintly calling for help.
Upon noticing the individual in apparent distress, Belinda hurried into the sea, guiding the swimmer towards the shore by instructing him to float on his back and let the waves assist him.
“He was telling me he was exhausted,” she shared. “I encouraged him, saying, ‘Get on your back and let the waves carry you. You can make it. Come on.'”
Subsequently, Vero Beach Police released footage showing a woman tending to a man they identified as Jesse Ellis, a suspect in the alleged murders of his wife, Stacie Mason, and her companion, Danny Ooley, earlier that day.
“I said, ‘Are you all right?’” Belinda recalled. “And he said, ‘No, I’m exhausted. I would never go out that far again’… And he said, ‘I think I’m going to take a long vacation.’”
Belinda was unaware that Ellis was wanted in connection to the murders, but told WPBF it wouldn’t have changed her decision to intervene.
“I could not leave anyone in the water, no matter what,” she said. “Everybody’s going through something.”
What are the Allegations Against Jesse Ellis?
Vero Beach Police Chief David Currey said during a March 25 press conference that Ellis is suspected of gunning down his wife of 13 years and her alleged partner around 7 a.m. that morning at a downtown library parking lot, where Mason and Ooley had arranged to meet.
Ellis allegedly opened fire on the victims—who were both employees with Indian River County—as they sat in Ooley’s vehicle, then fled the area and went to South Beach, where a witness reported seeing him walk into the ocean “fully clothed” and called 911, Currey said.
The fire department responded and launched a zodiac-style boat into the water around 8:30 a.m. to make contact with the man—who was now about 900 yards off the shore—but he gave emergency responders another name and insisted he didn’t need any help, according to the press conference.
Indian River County Fire Chief David Johnson later explained at a March 27 press conference that emergency personnel were not aware at the time that the man could have been Ellis.
“You cannot kidnap someone just because they’re doing what they want to do in a public place,” Johnson said as to why they didn’t force him to come back ashore. “He was awake and alert. He was out swimming.”
According to Currey’s comments at the press conference, other witnesses reported seeing a man they believed was Ellis around 11 a.m. closer to the shore near the Ocean Reef resort.
“They assisted him the shore,” Currey explained. “He said he had a cramp and that he was okay.”
It’s unclear whether Belinda may have been one of those witnesses or if she interacted with Ellis earlier in the day. Oxygen reached out to Vero Beach Police but did not receive an immediate reply.
Police Find Writings Showing Jesse Ellis Had Been in Distress
Police released an image of a man they believed to be Ellis moving south along the beach around 11:10 a.m.
When investigators located his truck near South Beach at 12:45 p.m. they found wet clothes inside—suggesting he had returned to the vehicle—an empty holster and a .380-caliber magazine.
Police also found several written documents that Currey said “were indicative of his intention to harm himself or end his life.”
He added, “One of them said, ‘Sorry, guys,’ and that was it, and he signed it.”
In other writings, which Currey said dated back to early March, Ellis allegedly wrote that he couldn’t eat, couldn’t sleep and wanted to “crawl in a hole.”
The 64-year-old’s current whereabouts remain unknown.
“We have his driver’s license. We have his passport,” Currey said during the March 27 press conference. “He’s flagged at any airport with Homeland Security.”
Police also have Currey’s wallet and credit cards and said there has been no activity on his accounts since the murders.
“We want to say, without question, to turn yourself in,” Currey added in a message directly to Ellis. “Make it safe for yourself to be turned in.”
He’s currently wanted on two counts of first-degree premeditated murder.

The Artemis II milestone is just one of several historic moments expected Monday, as the astronauts prepare to become the first humans in decades to view the Moon’s far side with the naked eye, bringing them within 4,070 miles of the lunar surface.
Later in the mission, the crew is also set to witness a rare solar eclipse from lunar orbit, beginning at 8.35pm ET and lasting roughly one hour.
Capsule Communicator Jenni Gibbons radioed to the Artemis II crew from Mission Control: ‘On April 15, 1970, during the Apollo 13 mission, three explorers set the record for the farthest distance humans have ever traveled from our home planet.
‘At that time, over 55 years ago, Lovell, Swigert and Haise flew 248,655 statute miles away from Earth. Today, for all humanity, you’re pushing beyond that frontier.’
NASA Flight Director Brandon Lloyd and others also marked the milestone by emailing the crew with ‘the longest person-to-person message ever sent in human history.’
The crew is now heading toward the far side of the moon, the lunar hemisphere that permanently faces away from Earth.
Unlike the familiar near side, it features a rugged, cratered terrain with a thicker crust and fewer dark volcanic plains.
Moments after breaking the Apollo record, Hansen got on the radio to announce two newly named craters.

One crater was named ‘Integrity,’ after the Orion capsule used by the crew during the historic mission.
‘If you were to look at Orientale on the far side and then draw a line straight up to Ohm on the far side, relatively in the middle is an unnamed crater, and we would like to suggest it be called Integrity,’ Hansen said.
But the most emotional moment came when Hansen revealed the name of a second crater. ‘It’s a bright spot on the Moon, and we would like to call it Carroll,’ he said.
Wiseman and Koch could be seen wiping away tears.
The announcement prompted the astronauts to embrace, while mission control in Houston fell silent in a rare moment of reflection.

This is one of those movements that doesn’t seem like much until you actually slow it down. Most people either rock back or use momentum without realizing it. When you clean it up and drive through your legs, your quads and glutes have to take over. That’s usually when people realize those muscles haven’t been doing as much work as they thought. Give it a couple of weeks, and standing up just feels easier.
Muscles Trained: Quads, glutes, hamstrings, and core
How to Do It:
Sit toward the front of the chair with your feet flat on the floor.
Bring your feet slightly under you.
Lean forward just enough to load your legs.
Drive through your feet to stand up.
Stand tall at the top.
Lower yourself back down slowly.
Recommended Sets and Reps: Perform 3 to 4 sets of 8 to 12 reps. Rest for 60 to 90 seconds between each set.

Sit tall with your legs extended and a band looped around your feet.
Hold the band with both hands.
Keep your chest lifted.
Pull the band toward your torso.
Squeeze your shoulder blades together.

This is the part most people overthink: You don’t need to overhaul your routine or suddenly start training five days a week. What’s proven is stacking small, repeatable efforts that your body can recover from and build on. When the movements feel solid, and you’re actually using the right muscles, things start to come back quicker than you’d expect.
The biggest shift I’ve seen with clients is when they stop trying to do more and start doing things better. Slowing a rep down, paying attention to where you feel it, and staying consistent with a few key movements go a long way. That’s where the real change happens.
A few things I always come back to:
Keep it consistent: Two or three short sessions you stick with will beat one long workout you dread or skip.
Don’t rush your reps: If you can’t feel the muscle working, you’re probably just moving through the motion.
Hit more than one area: Legs, upper body, and core all matter here. It adds up faster than isolating one thing.
Build it gradually: Adding a few reps, slowing things down, or increasing resistance gradually are keys to consistency and adherence.
Stay aware of your posture: Sitting taller and staying engaged changes how every rep feels.
Keep yourself moving outside of workouts: Even a daily walk helps reinforce everything you’re building here.

A 39-year-old man has been charged with sexually assaulting his 12-year-old stepdaughter, who was discovered deceased in their Connecticut residence.
The tragic discovery of Eve Rogers occurred on the morning of March 18, when her mother, Melanie Federline, attempted to awaken her. According to Enfield Police Department reports, emergency teams arrived at the scene at 10:25 a.m., where they pronounced Eve dead upon arrival. Investigators executed a search warrant at the home, gathering DNA samples from all residents.
While the cause of death remains undetermined, authorities reported in a Friday press release that Eve’s stepfather, Anthony Federline, was apprehended on charges of sexual assault and child endangerment.
Details from an arrest warrant, as reported by local NBC affiliate WVIT, revealed that Eve was discovered lying face down in her bedroom, partially covered by a blanket. Police noted the presence of blood and fluids from her nose, and that rigor mortis had set in.
Melanie Federline recounted to police that she first knocked on Eve’s door without receiving a reply. She subsequently unlocked the door using a butter knife. Upon finding her daughter, she turned Eve over and immediately called Anthony Federline for assistance.
According to the warrant, Melanie Federline told police that Eve had autism and POTS, a condition that causes an increased heartbeat when someone stands up after lying down.
Police said two pills were found in the room, one of which was aspirin. According to the warrant, evidence found on Eve’s body led police to conduct a sexual assault exam and collect DNA from everyone living in the household. Melanie Federline, Anthony Federline, and Eve’s three siblings all complied with police and provided their DNA.
According to the warrant, Anthony Federline consented to providing a DNA sample, but allegedly told investigators that it felt like the test was putting “salt in the wound.”
Investigators later determined that Anthony Federline’s DNA matched the sample taken from Eve’s body. Police charged him with sexual assault and risk of injury to a child and arrested him on April 2. He is currently being held in custody on $1 million surety bond. He has not been charged in connection with Eve’s death.
Melanie Federline told local news outlet CTPost.com on Sunday that she was “not aware of any of these allegations, and I’m still trying to understand what’s happening. I’m allowing the legal process to unfold.” She added that she was taking the allegations seriously and would continue to cooperate with investigators.
WVIT reported that Anthony Federline had been employed as a school bus driver for Enfield Public Schools through Smyth Bus Company. The school district superintendent Steven Moccio told WVIT that Anthony Federline had been terminated immediately, and that he had passed a criminal background check when he was first hired. Smyth Bus Company also told WVIT in a statement that they were cooperating with law enforcement.
Anthony Federline’s next court date was not available.
