In a 2010 article titled “A Deal? Tell It to the Judge,” a New York Times reporter chronicled Pirro’s shopping habits as she navigated through the racks at the now-closed discount retailer, Filene’s Basement. Despite her luxurious lifestyle, Pirro is surprisingly frugal about fashion. She questioned the rationale behind spending $1,600 on Dolce & Gabbana rhinestone jeans, proclaiming, “I could do that myself. I know how to use a stud gun.”

Interestingly, some of Pirro’s bold fashion choices have stirred controversy, challenging the conservative image she has carefully cultivated over her political career.

In December 2015, Pirro revisited the past by posting a photo from 15 years earlier on Facebook, showcasing a particularly daring evening gown. The strapless dress, leaving little to the imagination, was worn for a hospital fundraising event. The post quickly attracted attention, with one commenter humorously stating, “If I would get her for a Judge I would go commit a crime,” while another jested, “My Hospital needs a Fundraiser.”

However, not all feedback was flattering. A critic remarked, “You diminish the veracity of your message by being a ‘fashionista.’ Important men don’t do this and I consider you and your message important. I don’t care about your shoes or dress and I am a woman. I care more so about your ability to affect our nation.”

As one can imagine, shortly after Pirro hit post, people came crawling out of the woodwork to comment on her, uh, assets. “If I would get her for a Judge I would go commit a crime,” one user joked. Be sure to tune into Sean Hannity tonight!” she posted on Facebook along with a picture of herself in a car. Perhaps this is what all of those Cosmopolitan issues were getting at when they wrote about taking a look from day to night? Did Pirro have plans to hit the town after “Hannity”? The world may never know.

What we do know, however, is that many of her followers were downright appalled by her outfit of choice for the news appearance, and they weren’t afraid to let her know it. “You are intelligent, classy, & spot on with your opinions, but your choice of dress is inappropriate,” one Facebook user said. Meanwhile, another wrote, “I like you Judge Jeanine Pirro but cleavage is NEVER appropriate in the workplace. Your girls are on full display in this photo.”

On October 31, 2025, newly-minted United States Attorney Jeanine Pirro cemented her place on the list of worst-dressed MAGA stars at 2025 Mar-a-Lago parties when she turned up at a “The Great Gatsby”-themed party at the private club wearing a nearly see-through flapper-style dress with a sparkling, black and emerald green sheer overlay, complete with long black gloves and a feathered flapper hat. “Opening night at Mar a Lago with the Greatest President,” Pirro posted on Instagram along with three photos of herself enjoying the Halloween bash with President Donald Trump and others. Alas, aside from Pirro’s scantily clad Gatsby get-up, the party itself proved to be the antithesis of conservative. As reported by the Daily Mail, partygoers sipped on champagne all while watching a burlesque dancer pose in a larger-than-life martini glass. 

Later, many took to the comments section to let their thoughts be known. “Pagans celebrating while wrapping themselves in Christianity as the people suffer. Awaiting the writing on the wall,” one Instagram user wrote. Meanwhile, another quipped, “What a joke.” Pirro, however, paid the criticism no mind. In December, she doubled down on the sheer evening gown and rewore it at the 48th Annual Kennedy Center Honors. Told you she was frugal!

In a significant move, the Prime Minister unveiled a $1 billion initiative designed to provide interest-free loans to truck drivers, freight companies, and producers of fuel and fertilizer. This support targets those hardest hit by the soaring costs of petrol and diesel.

The funding is sourced from the off-budget National Reconstruction Fund and is intended to serve as a “shock absorber” to alleviate some of the financial strain on these essential businesses.

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese emphasized the critical role these sectors play, stating, “These firms are not just impacted by this crisis; they are crucial to Australia’s ability to navigate it successfully.”

He continued, “Our government is committed to extending credit to assist them, along with the farmers and producers who depend on these supply chains, in withstanding the challenges ahead.”

Albanese acknowledged the broader global implications of the crisis, noting, “No government can promise to fully eliminate the pressures this global situation will bring.”

PM defends lacklustre national address

Albanese had been widely expected to offer more details during yesterday’s national address, a televised message usually reserved for wart-time presidents or major announcements.

The PM defended his remarks and said it was a device to “talk directly to the nation” rather than deliver any specific news.

“I took the opportunity to talk directly to the nation, that is more important than ever, because of the nature of the noise that is out there… the conspiracy theories out there,” Albanese said.

He added that the spike in fuel demand had necessitated his call for calm.

Fuel excise savings to reach 32c per litre

The federal government has reached an agreement with the states and territories to negotiate an increased reduction of the fuel excise.

Combined with the extra cuts, the PM said drivers will now save a total of 32 cents per litre at the pump.

The change was signed into law by Treasurer Jim Chalmers today.

Albanese said he hoped this would immediately impact prices for Australian motorists.

“We want this added relief to start showing up at our petrol stations straight away,” he said.

A preview of May’s federal budget

The PM also offered a brief preview into next month’s federal budget.

The ever-present issue of the cost of living will remain at the top of the agenda, Albanese said.

He flagged it will be his government’s “most important” budget since he came into power in 2022.

“One priority remains helping people with the cost of living. And that is the balance that we will strike next month’s budget,” the PM said.

“It is our government’s most important budget to date and ambitious.

‘We will get through this’

There is a contingency plan in place if the war “deteriorates” our economy further, Albanese said.

He assured Australians that the nation will “get through this” but could not offer any timeline for when the war may end.

“We don’t know how long this will go for, we don’t know when it will end and therefore the consequences of this are connected with that,” Albanese said.

“We’ll come through this. And my job is to provide appropriate reassurance which is what we’re doing,” he said.

Albanese also tempered fears over any COVID-style mandates or lockdowns.

“This will not be like COVID,” he added.

“Partly because the nature of this global crisis is very different.

“But also because we have learned from that time – and we are deliberately taking a different approach.”

In a significant political move, former President Donald Trump has thrown his support behind using the budget reconciliation process to secure funding for Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and the Border Patrol. This approach, which sidesteps the need for Democratic backing, is proposed to meet a June 1 deadline.

Trump’s endorsement aligns him with a strategic proposal previously passed by the Senate. However, this plan faced opposition from House Republicans, who felt caught off guard and expressed concern over dividing the funding for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). The department has been inactive for a historic 47 days.

On Wednesday, Trump utilized his platform on Truth Social to advocate for the GOP-driven funding mechanism for ICE and Border Patrol. Notably, he did not address the funding strategy for the remaining components of the DHS.

In his post, Trump emphasized the need to support “our incredible ICE Agents and Border Patrol” through a process that excludes “Radical Left Democrat votes” and bypasses the Senate filibuster. He called for its immediate repeal and mentioned collaboration with House Speaker Mike Johnson and Senate Leader John Thune. This budget reconciliation process allows legislation to pass with a simple majority, eliminating the requirement for a 60-vote threshold in the Senate.

Trump further stated, “We are going to work as fast, and as focused, as possible to replenish funding for our Border and ICE Agents, and the Radical Left Democrats won’t be able to stop us. We will not allow them to hurt the families of these Great Patriots by defunding them.”

He goes on to ask for the bill to be passed by both chambers and sent to him “NO LATER than June 1.”

“Our Law Enforcement Officers and the American People should not have to wait until the Democrats see reason or, learn the hard way through the Polls,” he wrote. “Hopefully, everyone will be voting REPUBLICAN for the Midterms. Through simple unification, Republicans can do this without the Democrats!”

Johnson and House Republicans had strongly rejected a bill the Senate passed last week to split up DHS funding and set aside ICE and Border Patrol to be funded through reconciliation later, expressing anger at Senate Republicans for blindsiding the lower chamber by passing it in the wee hours of the morning by unanimous consent while most senators had already left town.

The House GOP responded by passing a stopgap measure to fund the entirety of DHS for eight weeks, but it soon became clear the Senate would not pass that deal.

GOP sources, The Hill reported earlier on Wednesday, had expected that Trump — who had not publicly endorsed one strategy or the other — would soon endorse the Senate plan to fund most of DHS and leave ICE and Border Patrol for a reconciliation bill.

Republicans have also been pitching use of the reconciliation process a second time this Congress to fund a host of other GOP priorities, such as supplemental funding for the Pentagon and to enact cuts and reforms intended to address fraud in federal programs. It is not clear whether that would be part of the reconciliation bill Trump is pitching by June 1.

ICE and CBP agents are currently being paid during the shutdown through “Trump’s One Big Beautiful Bill Act” that was passed last year through the same reconciliation process, Trump noted.

In his post, he said the OBBB funding will continue to be used to “ensure that ICE and Border Patrol Agents are paid ON TIME, and IN FULL, as we have been doing for them throughout the Democrat Shutdown.”

“Immigration Enforcement will continue, and our Border will remain secure, with no Murderers, Drug Dealers, or Criminals of any kind entering our Country,” he said.

In the post he railed against Democrats for wanting to “DEFUND the Police, Border Patrol, and all Immigration Enforcement [and] allow Criminals, the Mentally Insane, and Lunatics from all over the World to come into our Country, totally unvetted and unchecked, putting Americans in serious danger.”

He said Americans should “should use this opportunity to reflect on the tens of millions of Illegal Aliens, including many Violent Criminals such as Murderers, Rapists, Human Traffickers, Child Molesters, and more, that Joe Biden and his Far Left Liberal Democrat Cronies in Congress (led by Hakeem Jeffries and Chuck Schumer) invited and allowed into our Country for the four years before I took office,” and vote Republican in the midterms.

16-Year-Old Faces Charges in Division Street Fatal Incident, Reports RCSO

AUGUSTA, Ga. () – A teenager, aged 16, now faces charges of Involuntary Manslaughter following the tragic death of another teen.

The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office was called to Division Street around 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 28th, in response to a reported shooting.

Upon their arrival, deputies found 17-year-old Jaden Harley, who had been shot. He was promptly taken to a nearby hospital for medical attention.

Unfortunately, Jaden succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at 5:41 p.m.

On the following Monday night, authorities issued a BOLO (Be On the Lookout) for 18-year-old Riley Buster, who had warrants for Furnishing a Firearm to a Minor. He was apprehended on Wednesday morning, April 1st.

According to the incident report, the victim, Buster, and another 17-year-old female, lived at the home on Division Street where the shooting took place.

Buster told law enforcement that he believed the suspect in the case would not have intentionally shot Jaden and believed it to have been an accident.

That suspect has since been identified as a 16-year-old and has been charged with Involuntary Manslaughter, Possession of Firearm During Crime, and Possession of Firearm Under 18.

Buster was not in the room when he heard the gun go off, according to his statement recounted in the incident report.

According to a witness, the the suspect was playing with a 9mm handgun, shortly before the shooting occurred.

ICE Urges Progressive Governor to Reconsider Release of Undocumented Migrant Murder Suspects

Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has called on Virginia’s newly elected governor, who leans towards liberal policies, to reconsider the release of undocumented immigrants facing murder charges.

This week, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) announced that ICE had placed two arrest detainers on Guatemalan nationals accused of serious crimes, requesting that they remain in custody rather than be released.

The first detainer concerns Anibal Armando Chavarria Muy, 38, who is currently facing charges of second-degree murder in Fairfax County. According to DHS, Chavarria Muy was apprehended on Monday, following a deadly stabbing incident that took place the previous day.

On the subsequent day, ICE issued another detainer for Misael Lopez Gomez, 28, who is accused of killing his three-month-old daughter last month.

Acting DHS Assistant Secretary Lauren Bis called on Gov. Abigail Spanberger, a Democrat, to not allow the murder suspects to be released back into the community.

‘We need cooperation from sanctuary politicians to stop criminals from being released from jail to perpetrate more crimes and create more innocent victims,’ Bis said.

Spanberger, who is her state’s first female governor, has been in office since January.

Chavarria Muy is in the US illegally, according to the DHS. The agency said it was unknown when and where he entered the country.

‘Open-border policies yet again have caused another preventable tragedy,’ Bis said.

He was being held without bond in the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center, according to WUSA9.

Meanwhile, Lopez Gomez told authorities that he illegally crossed the southern border near Albuquerque, New Mexico, in July 2023.

Lopez Gomez was charged with murder after police were called to a home in Bailey’s Crossroads around 7.30pm last Friday, the Fairfax County Police Department said.

His baby daughter wasn’t breathing and was rushed to the hospital, where she was declared dead.

Hospital staff saw signs of abuse, leading to Lopez Gomez’s arrest. He is also jailed at the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center on no bond.

‘This monster should have never been allowed in our country by the Biden administration,’ Bis said.

The DHS said ICE had lodged an arrest detainer for Lopez Gomez to ‘request sanctuary politicians not release him from jail without notification to ICE.’

Earlier this month, ICE issued a detainer for Israel Christopher Flores-Ortiz, 19, from El Salvador.

He was arrested on nine counts of assault and battery and had allegedly groped multiple girls at a high school despite being an adult.

Flores-Ortiz illegally entered the US in 2024, according to the DHS, who added that he was ‘RELEASED into the country under the Biden administration.’

‘This 19-year-old criminal illegal alien should not have been attending a Virginia high school and allowed to prey on innocent teenage girls,’ Bis said.

She called on Fairfax County officials, whom she referred to as ‘sanctuary politicians,’ to not release Flores-Ortiz so that he could ‘assault more teenage women.’

‘Unfortunately, Governor Abigail Spanberger ended cooperation with ICE and is siding with criminal illegal aliens over American citizens,’ Bis added.

The DHS also wrote that Spanberger had continued to ‘allow the release of pedophiles, rapists, gang members, and murderers onto Virginia’s streets.’

‘Law enforcement will continue to risk their lives to arrest these heinous criminals,’ the agency said.

In February, the DHS said ICE also issued a detainer asking Spanberger not to release Sierra Leonean illegal migrant Abdul Jalloh, 32.

Jalloh was arrested in connection to the murder of Stephanie Minter, 41, who was found dead at a Fairfax County bus stop with multiple stab wounds to her upper body.

The DHS said Jalloh was a ‘career criminal illegal alien with more than 30 arrests.’

Jalloh’s criminal history included more than 30 arrests for rape, malicious wounding, firing a weapon, assault, drug possession, contributing to the delinquency of a minor, identity theft, larceny, trespassing and pickpocketing..

He crossed the border illegally in 2012, according to authorities.

ICE previously lodged a detainer against Jalloh in 2020. He was issued a final order of removal by a judge, who said he could be deported to any country besides Sierra Leone.

‘This case illustrated the importance of third country removals to get criminal illegal aliens out of the US,’ the DHS wrote.
