Sir Ranulph Fiennes’ stepson demands court hearing to protect his free will

0

The stepson of Sir Ranulph Fiennes has accused the explorer’s second wife of exerting a controlling influence over him for more than 20 years.

Alex Millington-Cotes claims his mother, Louise, “dominated” their relationship from the beginning of their marriage, which took place barely a year after the death of Sir Ranulph’s first wife.

Other friends and a business associate independently described a similar situation to The Mail On Sunday. One said Sir Ranulph had spoken of being “only ever allowed 24 hours at a time away from her”.

In an exclusive interview, Mr Millington-Cotes said he was determined to locate his 82-year-old stepfather, who has Parkinson’s disease and has not been seen in public for more than two years, in an effort to “restore his free will”.

He has set up a GoFundMe campaign to help fund legal action after reports last week claimed that Sir Ranulph had been registered under a false name by his wife and transferred between several care homes.

The Care Inspectorate reportedly concluded earlier this year that Sir Ranulph had been unlawfully deprived of his liberty.

Family members and friends called for an investigation into his circumstances this weekend. Damian Hinds, the Shadow Health and Care Secretary, said “any potential failings” involving the care watchdog and the Office of the Public Guardian should be “looked into”.

Mr Millington-Cotes’s crowdfunding page features a photograph of him with his stepfather beside the Leaning Tower of Pisa in June 2018, their last holiday together. He said they last met in late 2024 and spoke by telephone 18 months ago.

Mr Millington-Cotes, 31, said: “I believe my mother exerted a controlling influence from the very start of their marriage. I was a child and didn’t recognise the signs then. But controlling is how I would describe it. His friends have confirmed how much he changed.”

He added: “My own relationship with her has been difficult for a very long time, longer than I can remember. I’ve obviously got my father and I’ve got Ran, and it has been complicated. There has been separation at various times.”

“The divide came in 2018, when she began to be quite unpleasant towards me, both directly and indirectly, including behind my back.”

“There’s now no real way for me to contact my mother. She has blocked my phone number and Facebook page on and off since 2018.”

“Estranged is the right word. She kicked me out. It has been tougher than words can say.”

Sir Ranulph’s life is the stuff of adventure fiction. The former soldier and SAS demolitions expert became the first man to reach both the North and South Poles on foot, as well as the first person to cross Antarctica on foot.

Frequently hailed as the world’s greatest living explorer, he once ran seven marathons in seven days across seven continents, demonstrating the extraordinary endurance that has defined his career.

After undergoing a double heart bypass in 2003 and suffering a heart attack two years later, he climbed Mount Everest in 2009 at the age of 65.

Mr Millington-Cotes was ten when his mother, then 38, married Sir Ranulph in 2005. The explorer was 23 years older than her. For a time, the couple lived at Greenlands, the sprawling hill farm near the Exmoor village of Exford that Sir Ranulph had shared with his first wife, Ginny.

Tucked into the fold of a remote valley, the property was sold to a land investment company in 2007.

The couple later moved to Shropshire where Mrs Millington-Cotes bred horses. However, Sir Ranulph retained rights of access to his old home and would pay fleeting visits.

In 2015, he agreed to meet a business associate there to discuss a project involving use of his personal photographs.

The man, who has asked not to be named, told The Mail On Sunday that although Sir Ranulph was enthusiastic about the meeting, he was obsessed with leaving on time for the long drive back to Cheshire where Mrs Millington-Cotes was waiting.

‘It was bizarre,’ the man recalled. ‘I arrived mid-afternoon to look through his photos, which were all stored at the Exmoor house.

‘He immediately told me he hoped our discussions weren’t going to take long. He apparently needed to get away because he had to drive up to Cheshire that evening.

‘I pointed out that there were hundreds of photos to assess but he was insistent. He said he had to get back because his wife only allowed him 24 hours away. He wasn’t joking.

‘Later I discovered he obeyed the same rule at speaking engagements to promote his books. Publishers would offer to put him up in a hotel afterwards but he preferred to sleep in his car to get back to Cheshire faster.’

According to one of his oldest friends on Exmoor, Mrs Millington-Cotes alienated herself from locals within months of the wedding.

‘She began pushing out the long-serving staff, he said. ‘These were loyal people, fond of Ran, even friends of his. They couldn’t understand why they were being so badly treated.

‘Ran was absolutely devoted to Ginny so when she died, and he promptly married Louise, it was pretty obviously done on the rebound from his grief.

‘Plenty of eyebrows were raised at the time but we all wanted him to find happiness again and hoped it would work out. Now it’s pretty clear that she just took over and controlled every aspect of his life. All his old friends were frozen out.’

Mrs Millington-Cotes was reportedly granted lasting power of attorney over Sir Ranulph in 2024. Since then he has been moved between a series of care homes in London, Cheshire and Wales. One care home manager was so troubled by Mrs

Millington-Cotes’s instructions to staff that he reported her to the Office of the Public Guardian.

Three other people have also asked the watchdog to intervene, apparently without success.

The owner of the care home in Wales raised the issue with the Care Inspectorate of Wales, which confirmed in an email obtained by a newspaper that: ‘[Sir Ranulph] is being deprived of his liberty unlawfully… He is not free to leave and not able to consent to care, treatment and accommodation.’

The care home owner told the MoS on Saturday that Sir Ranulph never talked about his second wife, only Ginny, his late first wife.

On the night he arrived at the home, the owner gleaned an insight into their relationship.

‘He said something and she snapped at him to tell him off. We were taken aback, and he just winked and smiled and looked over as if to say, ‘Don’t worry. She’s going in a minute. I know what she’s like.’

The owner also said Sir Ranulph was not allowed to watch anything to do with the Antarctic, the North Pole or Everest because his wife said it would upset him.

Speaking to The Times, the operator of the care home described Sir Ranulph as frail and occasionally confused, but said he still showed flashes of the iron will that had made him one of the world’s best-known explorers.

Sir Ranulph had been admitted to the home under the name Robert Millington. The home was initially told that its prospective resident was a former SAS soldier whose identity needed to be concealed because his life was under threat.

It was only when senior staff later met Mrs Millington-Cotes that she disclosed that ‘Robert Millington’ was Sir Ranulph. She claimed extremists might target her husband if his identity and whereabouts became known.

After walks, Sir Ranulph would sometimes ask to sit in the home’s sun lounge, chatting to residents unaware of his identity. ‘To this day, none of them knew who they were talking to,’ the home’s operator said.

Mr Millington-Cotes has now secured the backing of some of Britain’s most revered explorers, including Bear Grylls, Sir Robin Knox-Johnston, Ben Fogle and Robin Hanbury-Tenison. All have spoken out publicly on the need for Sir Ranulph’s whereabouts to be established and his liberty restored.

Mr Millington-Cotes said: ‘My suspicion is that my stepfather is back at home with my mother.

‘I believed he was last in a care home in Cheshire. I went there last Monday and the staff were very sheepish when I said who I was. There was a flurry of people rushing about, so that was interesting.

‘The aim of the crowdfunding page is to raise £55,000 to pay for legal action if necessary. Perhaps a court order to pull back the power my mother has over him so that she’s not able to make decisions – at least, not on her own.

‘I want to ensure his complete free will, the ability to walk outside, see whoever he wants.

‘At the moment the life he has is not in his best interests. I’ve come to realise that outside the hard shell of an SAS soldier he is a deeply caring person.’

Mrs Millington-Cotes has been contacted for comment.

Texas Coach Responds to Star’s Vulgar Gesture in Front of Trump

0

Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian said Colin Simmons would not face extreme punishment for his vulgar celebration in front of President Donald Trump, insisting: “I’m not going to give the guy the death penalty over an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty.”

Trump attended the SEC showdown at Neyland Stadium after making a dramatic arrival aboard Air Force One, which was greeted by loud cheers from the crowd.

However, the atmosphere shifted when Simmons burst into the backfield and sacked Faizon Brandon on third down, a play that should have left Tennessee facing fourth-and-29.

Instead, the Texas sophomore stood over Brandon and mimicked urinating on the field. The celebration immediately prompted the officials to throw a yellow flag.

The referee then announced over the stadium loudspeaker that Simmons had been penalized for “simulating using the restroom,” wiping out the defensive stop.

The incident sparked an immediate backlash during the ABC broadcast, with Kirk Herbstreit strongly criticizing Simmons alongside play-by-play announcer Chris Fowler.

Steve Sarkisian insisted he won't give his player the 'death penalty' over his shocking penalty

Steve Sarkisian said he would not impose the “death penalty” on his player over the controversial celebration

Herbstreit described the move as “absolutely idiotic,” while Fowler agreed, saying: “It doesn’t get much more vulgar, either.”

Although Sarkisian said the offense did not warrant capital punishment, he made clear that Simmons had been warned such behavior could not continue for the remainder of the season.

“We gotta fix it, though, right?” Sarkisian said. “That can’t continue as we move forward.”

“Can’t happen. That’s a bad football play. We had harped and talked about not getting emotional with the crowd, and that was the emotional play.”

“We had a couple others that were close, too. We had a real talk about it at halftime, about how we needed to play the second half, and we needed to celebrate with one another.”

Sarkisian said the coaching staff removed Simmons from the game, addressed the issue with him and then sent him back onto the field. The defender responded with a dominant performance, sacking the Tennessee quarterback five times.

“But five sacks was pretty cool,” Sarkisian added.

Simmons later apologized to reporters, saying: “I apologize for the celebration. I was definitely in that mode, feeling myself. It happens.”

Sarkisian also suggested that broader social trends had influenced Simmons’ decision to make the vulgar gesture as he expanded on his criticism.

“Unfortunately, in our society right now, we live in the ‘look at me’ society,” Sarkisian said. “All of you guys have your Twitter accounts, and as fast as you can type something because you want everyone to look at your account, and you get clicks.”

‘Well, that’s the world that we live in. So we’ve got to get to – it’s about the team and focus on the team, and not so much ‘look at me.’ So we’ll try to improve upon that.’

The game went down to the final play as Texas held on while Simmons’ antics went viral online in the aftermath.

Teammate Justin Cryer saw the incident unfold having also been right on the scene from his position at linebacker.

‘I tried to run over there and grab him,’ Cryer said. ‘I seen where it was going, and I tried to go grab him before we got a penalty, but it was too late.

‘After the play, I just told him, ‘Look, man, we got to just keep our head.’ I know he’s having fun, he’s excited, but at the end of the day, we don’t want to let those plays, those penalties, dictate how the game’s going to go.’

Texas is now 4-0 after handing Tennessee their first loss of the season. The Longhorns head to rivals Oklahoma in Week 6 on October 10 after a bye week.

USC Misses Big Win Over Oregon Despite Knocking Out Ducks QB

0

USC dealt Oregon a crushing blow before halftime Saturday, knocking Ducks quarterback Dante Moore out of the game on a controversial hit.

As Oregon rallied around its injured teammate in an increasingly heated atmosphere at the Coliseum, the Ducks produced a response that changed the game.

In the process, they may have delivered a major setback to USC’s hopes of putting together a special season.

With backup quarterback Dylan Raiola leading an offense that became nearly unstoppable after halftime, No. 20 Oregon defeated No. 12 USC, 41-27, in front of a season-high crowd of 75,500. The Coliseum emptied noticeably during the final minutes.

Raiola stole the spotlight from USC starter Jayden Maiava, guiding Oregon to scoring drives that produced 34 points over a little more than a half.

After the Trojans tied the game early in the fourth quarter, Raiola found Dakorien Moore in the front corner of the end zone for a 29-yard touchdown. USC cornerback Elbert Hill IV closed too late on the play.

Unable to slow Oregon, USC gambled on fourth down near midfield on its next possession. Maiava’s pass for Zacharyus Williams fell incomplete after being broken up, turning the ball over on downs with 7 minutes, 15 seconds remaining.

Oregon answered by converting a fourth down of its own near midfield, extending the drive and draining valuable time. Jordan Davison later took a pitch and was pushed into the end zone by his teammates on a 2-yard run with 1:55 left, putting the Ducks (3-1 overall, 1-0 Big Ten) in position to secure their fifth straight win over the Trojans (4-1, 1-1).

For USC coach Lincoln Riley, the loss represented a stunning failure in a defining moment. After four frustrating seasons that ended without a College Football Playoff appearance, Riley needed to show that he merited the program’s massive investment and considerable patience.

The result also strengthened the growing belief that Riley has been unable to match Oregon coach Dan Lanning, who has now won all three meetings between the two coaches.

Riley will face difficult questions about the direction of his team, a defense that surrendered 504 yards and the way USC players handled the situation surrounding Moore’s injury.

In a disturbing moment late in the first half, the rivalry between Oregon and USC intensified dramatically.

Moore escaped the pass rush and sprinted beyond the USC 15-yard line before attempting to protect himself by sliding.

Instead, Trojans linebacker Desman Stephens II delivered a jarring forearm to Moore’s head, triggering a chaotic confrontation on the field.

Moore remained motionless as several flags flew, while players exchanged words and shoved one another. Assistant coaches stepped between the teams during the heated scrum. The situation grew even more contentious when Stephens appeared to gloat on the sideline alongside teammates who celebrated the hit.

Stephens was penalized for targeting and ejected, with USC leading 7-3 at the time. Officials also assessed offsetting unsportsmanlike conduct penalties to both teams.

Following a lengthy delay, medical personnel placed Moore on a stretcher and carried him from the field before he was taken to an ambulance at the bottom of the tunnel. The stunned crowd applauded. Raiola entered in relief — the same quarterback whose season ended last year while playing for Nebraska after he suffered a right ankle injury against USC.

Raiola’s first pass was a 3-yard touchdown, giving Oregon a 10-7 advantage.

He completed 19 of 25 passes for 289 yards and two touchdowns. Maiava finished 23 of 42 for 326 yards and two touchdowns, but he also threw an interception in the end zone with four seconds remaining.

With Penn State, Ohio State, Indiana and a surging UCLA still on the schedule, the defeat leaves USC with little room for error before the end of September.

The cheer that could be heard in the final seconds said it all.

“Let’s go Ducks!”

Cool Mornings Continue in Central Florida Before Rain Returns

0

ORLANDO, Fla. – Central Florida will get another round of cooler mornings Sunday before temperatures and rain chances trend upward next week.

Most areas will begin Sunday in the 60s, marking the coolest stretch of morning temperatures since early June. Abundant sunshine and dry air will help temperatures rise into the mid-80s during the afternoon. Orlando is expected to reach 85 degrees, with rain chances near zero.

The dry weather will hold through Monday. Much of Central Florida will again wake up to temperatures in the 60s before afternoon highs climb into the mid to upper 80s.

Beachgoers should use caution Sunday as dangerous surf conditions continue along the Atlantic coast. A high risk of rip currents is expected, along with rough surf and breaking waves measuring 3 to 5 feet. Winds may be lighter, but entering the ocean remains strongly discouraged.

The weather pattern starts to shift Tuesday as moisture returns to the region. That will bring back at least a chance of afternoon showers and thunderstorms, while temperatures rise to near 90 degrees.

Rain chances will build during the second half of the week as deeper moisture moves into Central Florida. From Wednesday through next weekend, scattered to numerous afternoon and early evening showers and storms could bring locally heavy rain, lightning and gusty winds.

Enjoy this brief break from summerlike weather. By the middle and end of the week, warmer temperatures, higher humidity and more frequent afternoon storms will return.

Hiker Dies in Fall of Up to 1,000 Feet on Mountain Where Another Body Was Found a Day Earlier

A Washington man died after falling between 800 and 1,000 feet while hiking last weekend, authorities said.

Gary Idleburg, 66, fell from Sauk Mountain in the Northern Cascades, northeast of Seattle, as he navigated a switchback trail Saturday, according to the Skagit County Sheriff’s Office.

Witnesses reported the fall involving the Olympia native. Emergency responders performed life-saving measures, but Idleburg was pronounced dead at the scene.

A day before Idleburg’s fatal fall, another hiker was found dead on steep terrain on the same mountain.

The hiker was identified as 78-year-old Peter Kalapaca, who had been missing for a day.

The sheriff’s office said it “extend[s] our deepest condolences to the Kalapaca family and loved ones. While nothing can lessen the loss of a loved one, we are grateful for the extraordinary effort made by everyone involved, which allows some measure of closure for the family.”

Missing DoorDash Driver Found Dismembered by His Family

0

A Georgia family searching for a missing delivery driver made a horrific discovery this week: 26-year-old Shanteria Mosley had been dismembered, with her remains placed in a plastic tub and trash bags.

Mosley, who police said worked as a DoorDash driver, left her Atlanta home Wednesday morning and did not return. Investigators said she was not logged into the app or accepting deliveries when she disappeared.

Worried about her safety, Mosley’s relatives tracked her phone to the Park Valley Apartments complex in Smyrna.

Family members searched the woods and grassy areas near the complex before finding Mosley’s car and contacting police, her aunt Michelle Weaver told 11Alive News.

Weaver said responding officers did not remain at the scene for long, leaving after knocking on the doors of three men.

The family continued searching, according to 11Alive. When they returned to Mosley’s vehicle, they noticed a man watching them from an apartment window.

Relatives went to the apartment and knocked on the door. The man told them he had not seen anyone leave Mosley’s car.

Weaver later saw the same man, identified by police as 18-year-old Kingston Bradley, carrying what appeared to be a laundry bag with a plastic tub inside. She said Bradley dropped the bag before fleeing.

Kingston Mosley, 18, was charged with concealing the death of another and murder, in relation to the killing of Shanteria Mosley

Kingston Bradley, 18, faces charges of murder and concealing the death of another person in connection with Shanteria Mosley’s killing.

The torso of Shanteria Mosley, 26, was found by her family inside a plastic tub carried by Bradley

Mosley’s torso was discovered by her family inside a plastic tub that Bradley had been carrying.

It remains unclear whether and how Mosley and Bradley knew each other and why Mosley went to the address in Smyrna

Authorities have not said whether Mosley and Bradley knew each other or why Mosley went to the Smyrna apartment complex.

“All we see is the boy,” Weaver said, according to 11Alive.

“Throwing a bag, like something with a cloth. It’s like a bag kind of cloth, like maybe a laundry bag, and it had like a container in it. He kind of threw it and he ran.”

Mosley’s relatives then found her dismembered torso inside the container.

Police arrested Bradley after finding blood stains and a large saw covered in blood inside his apartment.

Investigators also reported finding a mop bucket, a mop, a carpet cleaner and the smell of bleach inside the residence.

On Friday, police said they searched a vehicle under a warrant and discovered garbage bags in the trunk.

“One garbage bag was pulled tightly, showing the outline of a body part.”

“Based on the information we have at this time, we do believe the victim to be Shanteria Mosley, known as ‘KT’ by her friends and family.”

Smyrna Police Lieutenant Meredith Holt said: “This is a particularly gruesome crime. I can’t imagine what the family is going through.”

‘I know that they are looking for answers and grieving at the same time. We’re continuing to work this case.’

Bradley was charged with concealing the death of another and murder and is being held without bond.

The 18-year-old has a history of violence, according to 11 Alive News.

In a case dating back to December 2024, Bradley was charged with two counts of terroristic threats, battery, simple battery and criminal trespass-damage to property following an alleged fight with his father.

Warrants and an indictment in that case allege Bradley hit his father with an Xbox controller, broke down his bedroom door and smashed a window when he pushed ‘a 15-year-old male juvenile into the window.’

The terroristic threats charge arose from Bradley allegedly ‘suggesting the death’ of his father, according to the indictment.

The case was indicted in February. Bradley, who was treated as a juvenile defendant, was released from jail on a $3,500 bond.

His bond conditions included no alcohol or drug consumption, no firearms and no further violent contact with either his father or the juvenile who was pushed into the window.

Another court filing stated that Bradley was pursuing admission for inpatient mental health treatment.

Bradley pleaded not guilty at an April arraignment. He is scheduled for a calendar call on October 6.

Bradley’s father, Ken Williams, addressed the allegations against his son.

First and foremost I’m sending my deepest condolences to the family of the young lady and her family,’ Williams wrote in a Facebook post.

‘Kingston has been dealing with mental illness for the past 6 years. Everyone who knows me knows that I work 10-12 hours daily. If I’m not at my regular job I’m somewhere doing a side job.’

‘Like you I have many questions as to the specifics of what happened, when and where. What I can say for certain is that I had no involvement with this incident nor had any knowledge of the incident,’ Williams said, claiming that he did not know the victim or her family prior to the killing.

Williams also added that he is cooperating with detectives and ‘not on the run.’

Authorities are still investigating whether or not Bradley and Mosley knew each other.

When asked how she wants her niece to be remembered, Weaver said: ‘With her smiles, laughter, and just full of joy, and talking crap to everybody, and just being happy, cheering everybody day up.’

Theranos Founder Elizabeth Holmes’ Safety Post Sparks Backlash

Theranos founder Elizabeth Holmes has sparked concern after posting a cryptic message about her child’s “health and safety” while serving a federal prison sentence for fraud.

“I don’t get angry often. Tonight, I am,” Holmes, 42, wrote on X on Friday, September 25. “People put my child’s health and safety at risk. They knowingly and consciously chose this path.”

She followed the post with a warning: “If protecting my child means burning bridges, I’ll burn them to light the way. Time to sleep. I’ll grab the match tomorrow.”

Holmes did not identify the person or situation behind the message. She did, however, attach an AI-generated image showing herself lighting a match beside a bridge. She later appeared to change subjects, posting a photograph of herself with one of her children on an airboat. Holmes and her partner, Billy Evans, have two children.

10 Burning Questions About Scamanda Answered Amanda Riley s Shocking Cancer Hoax and the Aftermath

Amanda Riley may be out of sight and serving time, but the cancer fraudster is more talked-about than ever. After soliciting over $100,000 to cover costs of cancer she did not have, the perky Christian mom from California, now 39, was convicted in 2021 and has since gained national infamy — first with the hit […]

Holmes later taunted critics who questioned her references to “health and safety,” given her conviction on four federal counts of fraud and conspiracy in 2022. Theranos collapsed in 2018 after allegations that the company misrepresented the capabilities of its finger-prick blood-testing technology, potentially placing patients at serious risk.

“Erm. The company you founded and the lies you told also – I believe – put countless people’s health and safety at risk,” one critic wrote. Holmes replied, “Can the chat send this guy some x money to get a more flattering profile photo. Literally anything would be better.”

When another user asked, “Is this a threat?” Holmes answered, “A promise.”

A third critic accused her of following a “standard playbook” by acting like “the villain,” getting caught and then portraying herself as the victim.

Holmes responded with another insult, writing: “Standard playbook, be a nobody, play the sage, be the r*****.”

The disgraced former Theranos CEO has been especially active on X this week despite continuing to serve a 135-month sentence at Federal Prison Camp Bryan in Texas. Last week, reports indicated that Holmes could be released early in 2027 and then transferred to a halfway house in Del Valle, Texas. Her former business partner and one-time boyfriend, Ramesh “Sunny” Balwani, received a nearly 13-year federal prison sentence and was also ordered to pay part of the $452 million restitution awarded to victims.

Holmes and her legal team have repeatedly appealed to President Donald Trump for a sentence commutation or full pardon. On Friday, September 25, she also praised Trump’s political prospects despite a bleak midterm outlook for Republicans, historically low approval numbers, rising gas and diesel prices, the ongoing war in Iran and multiple food recalls.

Holmes shared one of Trump’s midterm campaign videos and added, “We are winning.”

Holmes has previously cultivated relationships with prominent political figures. She persuaded the late former Secretaries of State Henry Kissinger and George Shultz, former Trump administration Defense Secretary Jim Mattis and former Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist, among others, to publicly support Theranos. Mattis, 76, and Shultz later withdrew their backing, while Frist, 74, and Kissinger quietly ended their business relationships with the company.

Holmes has again drawn public attention following news that The Rehearsal director Nathan Fielder and Some Kind of Heaven filmmaker Lance Oppenheim co-directed a nearly three-hour documentary about Holmes and Evans, 34. The film follows the former Theranos executive and her partner during the weeks leading up to her surrender to federal authorities.

You Can See Everything, scheduled to open October 16, was screened amid considerable anticipation at the 53rd Telluride Film Festival on September 6. Early reviews from the festival were highly enthusiastic.

Their arrival in Brisbane followed an extended wedding celebration in Sicily with a group of close friends.

Jett and Lily married in the hilltop town of Taormina on September 4, later taking their guests on a boat trip along the Italian coast.

Images posted to social media showed the group enjoying cocktails and beers on the bow of a yacht, while also playing a personalised card game featuring the couple’s new married name.

The lavish Taormina ceremony came after the pair quietly exchanged vows at a Brisbane courthouse in June.

Earlier this month, reports revealed that the couple had begun married life in an unusual fashion, surrounded by friends.

In images shared to Instagram, Lily stunned in an ivory gown with loose straps and a long train.

Meanwhile, Jett was dapper in a loose-fitting grey suit worn with a white dress shirt and pinned cream flowers, which matched Lily’s bouquet, to his lapel.

The couple posed up a storm in front of a rustic, historic building, embracing and sharing celebratory kisses.

After the wedding, Jett’s divorced parents proved they are friendly exes as they partied together at his reception.

Documenting the nuptials, the Olympians could be seen sitting across from one another and enjoying wine and pasta with their extended family and friends.

Grant, 63, sat alongside Jett while Lisa, 64, sat with her husband, Mark Tabone, proving that the blended family all gets along.

After two weddings and a sun-soaked honeymoon, Mr and Mrs Kenny are clearly loving every minute of married life.

Patrick Clancy Says He Suffered ‘Massive Traumatic Panic Attack’ During Wife Lindsay Clancy’s Trial

0

Taking the witness stand at Lindsay Clancy’s murder trial forced Patrick Clancy to revisit the most traumatic experience of his life.

In July, he described the events of Jan. 24, 2023, when he discovered his children, Cora, 5, and Dawson, 3, dead inside their home. Lindsay was found outside, bleeding after jumping from a second-story window. Their 8-month-old son, Callan, died four days later at Boston Children’s Hospital.

“Testifying is very difficult,” Patrick said during a Sept. 20 interview with 60 Minutes. He recalled taking a break before prosecutors played the 911 call, which he knew would be “just horrific.” In a back room, he said, he experienced a severe traumatic panic attack.

“My heart was pounding,” Patrick recalled. An ambulance was brought for him, and medical staff offered medication. He declined, telling them, “I don’t want it, because I want to go back and I want to finish this so I can be done with this.” He returned to the courtroom and completed his testimony.

During the interview, which also included his wife, Rachel Danis, Patrick revealed that he experienced suicidal thoughts after the deaths of his children.

“There was a time where I didn’t think I would live to see my 35th birthday,” said Patrick, now 36. “And I was completely fine with it.”

Although Rachel did not testify, Patrick spent two days on the stand discussing Lindsay’s mental health, their former marriage and what happened on the day their three children died.

The trial also fueled a wave of conspiracy theories across social media.

Patrick told 60 Minutes that the online rumors were “deeply harmful to the legacy of my children.” He said they distract from the central issue of perinatal mental health and have caused “real harm to real people,” including himself.

“It’s painful to see,” he continued. The speculation, he said, has made it harder for him to appear in public. He also worries that people exposed to “lie after lie after lie” may eventually accept those claims as true.

What Happened in Lindsay Clancy’s Murder Trial?

Lindsay’s trial concluded after more than a month of testimony and seven days of deliberations. The 12 jurors ultimately could not reach a unanimous verdict.

Lindsay faced three counts of first-degree murder. Prosecutors argued that she intentionally killed Cora, Dawson and Callan on Jan. 24, 2023, before trying to take her own life.

Her defense team acknowledged that she killed the children but argued that she was experiencing postpartum psychosis and had been overmedicated. As a result, they maintained, she was not criminally responsible for her actions.

How Did Patrick Clancy Meet Rachel Danis?

Several months after the children’s deaths and Lindsay’s arrest, Patrick left Massachusetts for New York City. That spring, he was jogging in Manhattan when he met Rachel. Their chance meeting developed into a relationship and eventually a marriage.

With the trial bringing renewed attention to their relationship, Rachel has pushed back against online criticism of her marriage to Patrick.

“I don’t understand how the story has been so twisted,” she said in a 60 Minutes teaser. Rachel described Patrick as “the most selfless father and supportive partner,” adding, “I was just a girl that met a guy running in Central Park on a really cold Saturday, and I don’t think there’s anything wrong with that.”
