Ethan Wyttenbach Ignites Ambitions for a Stellar Sophomore Year with the Flames

0

Ethan Wyttenbach is eager to secure his place in the NHL spotlight.

This talented Flames draft pick, currently shining at Quinnipiac, is preparing for his moment by entering a pivotal second collegiate season. As he continues to captivate the hockey community with his skills, he also eyes the chance to represent Team USA in post-Christmas tournaments.

“I aim to play one more year before moving to Calgary at the season’s end,” the Roslyn native expressed to The Post before returning to college life.

Returning to Quinnipiac, the winger reflects on a remarkable season with the Bobcats that left a lasting impression.

Eschewing the typical freshman experience, Wyttenbach emerged as a powerhouse, leading the NCAA with 59 points, earning the title of rookie of the year, and securing a spot among the top 10 finalists for the prestigious Hobey Baker Award.

“I feel way better than I did last year, and I’m just hoping to replicate it — plus a little bit,” he said.

Flame on!

Wyttenbach got a taste of the show this summer while at Flames rookie camp, which he was restricted from last year due to injury.

“Just getting a second chance to meet the guys, build better relationships with the staff” were all huge confidence boosters, he said. “It was cool to see the fans there … just looking forward to building my roots there.”

Wyttenbach, a fifth-round pick in 2025, has also skated this summer with a future Calgary teammate way closer to home on the island, working out with Flames star Matthew Coronato of Greenlawn.

“I skated with him pretty much every day, and we worked out together,” Wyttenbach said. “It was great to learn from him in any way I can and just build that relationship with him. The goal is to be teammates with him at the end of this year.”

Play ‘Free Bird’

The Nassau County sensation also showed his skills on the global stage with Team USA this summer during the World Junior Summer Showcase, notching eight points in four games — five of them goals.

His next goal is making America’s roster for the 2027 IIHF World Junior Hockey Championship at the end of the year and into January.

“It’s cool to wear the jersey in the summer, but it’s not the real thing,” Wyttenbach said. “I’m just trying to earn my spot on the team in December and see what I can do to help the team in any way I can.”

Afterward, the plan is playoff redemption with his Bobcats, who fell to North Dakota in the regional round of the 2026 NCAA Tournament.

“I’m excited for a second chance at winning a national championship — and just being back with the guys,” he said.

That and taking home the Hobey this time.

“Those would combine for a pretty good sophomore year,” he said, laughing.

The whirlwind success is also humbling Wyttenbach, who is still getting used to kids coming up for autographs and pictures after games.

“It’s definitely still a little bit new to me, being so young, but it’s just really cool,” he said.

Wyttenbach recalled his own adolescence, when he aspired to be like Rangers Norris Trophy winner Adam Fox from Jericho and Bruins Olympic gold medalist Charlie McAvoy from Long Beach.

“I kind of understand what it’s like to be in their shoes now and just try and be as good of a role model as I can,” he said.

Now Wyttenbach is doing his best not to get caught offside between dwelling on past success and future ambitions.

“I’m really happy with where I’m at,” he said. “So, just trying to take it little by little — and I’ll see what happens.”

McInnes Urges Upgrades as Rangers Secure Narrow First-Leg Victory Against Czech Opponents

0

Rangers manager Derek McInnes openly acknowledges that his squad needs to significantly enhance their performance to secure a coveted spot in the group stage of the UEFA Conference League.

On Thursday night at Ibrox, a crucial goal by Ryan Naderi gave Rangers a slender 1-0 advantage in the initial leg of their play-off encounter against Jablonec.

Off the field, Rangers are nearing a substantial £8.5 million agreement to acquire Kim Min-Su, a talented Korean winger currently with La Liga’s Girona.

McInnes conceded that, particularly in the first half, his team faltered in maintaining possession and generating creative play, falling short of expectations.

The match took a further twist 15 minutes before the final whistle when substitute Cammy Devlin received a straight red card for an ill-advised high tackle, reducing Rangers to ten men.

McInnes had no complaints over that decision – and told his players to buck-up their ideas as they look to secure European football for the season ahead.

‘I was disappointed with a lot of the first half,’ said the Rangers manager. ‘We didn’t have any real impetus or concerted pressure, so I wasn’t happy with it.

‘We needed to bring a bit more intelligence but also be a bit more enthusiastic with some of our tempo and move the ball quicker.

‘I thought we were far better in the second half. We connected the game better and that gave us a far better chance of causing them problems.

‘I don’t think Jablonec caused us too many problems in terms of goalmouth chances. I thought we looked a lot better.

‘Djeidi Gassama has got to score and make it 2-0 with the chance he had, that was a big moment.

‘The red card changed it because then it was about trying to manage the last 15-20 minutes of the game.

‘The positives are a clean sheet, another win, another goal for Ryan Naderi and we’ve got something to take to the Czech Republic.

‘In the bigger picture, we’ve still got a lot of work to do. But, in the meantime, it’s important we win games.

‘The enthusiasm and work-rate was there in bucketloads but we need to show a wee bit more composure and poise.

‘I just want us to be better to be honest. I think we have to be better. Normally in Europe, you don’t get through a European tie if you only play well with one leg.

‘We’ve got to make sure we’re as strong as we can be next week, get a stronger performance, and I’m confident we’ve got enough in us to be able to do that.’

Devlin came off the bench as a substitute in the 69th minute. Yet, in his first meaningful contribution, he clattered into Jablonec full-back Jiri Slama.

Romanian referee Marian Barbu was referred to the pitchside monitor by the VAR and duly issued the Rangers midfielder with a straight red card.

‘It was a red card, there’s no debate,’ conceded McInnes. ‘I think it looks a hell of a lot worse than it actually was.

‘I think what Cammy’s trying to do, when he’s trying to buy fouls, he’s trying to stick his leg up and put his body in to be held because he’s in the penalty box.

‘He’s obviously trying to feel a contact, but because his leg was up to try and put his body in, it’s caught the boy on the shin. It looks terrible.

‘When you see the stills of it, it looks like a red card all day long. But I think it looks worse than it actually was, if you know what I mean.’

Rangers will not be able to register any more new signings ahead of next week’s second leg in the Czech Republic.

But, with no domestic fixture this weekend, McInnes is hopeful that the club can utilise the time to nail down more transfer targets.

Rangers, who face Aberdeen next weekend upon their return from Jablonec, remain in the market for two more new wingers as well as a new striker, with a deal for Girona’s Min-Su understood to be close.

Rangers hope to conclude an £8.5million deal to sign Girona winger Min-Su

‘We’ll pick up on that straight after the game, with everybody involved,’ added McInnes. ‘We’re trying in a few different areas to get the right players in, players with the right quality.

‘We’ve been really focused on certain ones. I’m quite hopeful we can do one in the next few days. We’re working extremely hard.

‘I do think that having that extra level of pace and quality and invention in the top end of the pitch is going to be massive for us to improve.

‘If we can get that, I’m pretty confident we can. If we can keep getting improvements, we can.

‘I do feel before we go to Pittodrie a week on Sunday, we’d like to have a couple of additions in. The club are well aware of that, everybody’s trying hard.

‘As I said before, these ones [in forward areas] are normally the more difficult ones to get, the ones where you’re paying a bigger-ticket money.

‘But clearly, we could do with that. There’s loads to work on. There’s a lot of stuff in the first half that surprised me that should be a lot better.’

Jessica Alba and Daughter Honor Unveil Matching Eye Tattoos Ahead of College Journey

Jessica Alba has taken a permanent step to bond even closer with her daughter, Honor, as they embrace a new chapter in life.

The 45-year-old actress and her 18-year-old daughter, whom she shares with former husband Cash Warren, have unveiled matching tattoos in a heartwarming display of unity before Honor departs for Yale University. Instagram lit up as celebrity tattoo artist Winterstone shared a snapshot of the duo holding hands, showcasing a delicate fine-line tattoo of an eye on their wrists, accompanied by a petite infinity symbol beneath the artistic design.

Serial Felon Receives 27-Month Federal Prison Sentence for Firearm Possession

GAINESVILLE, Fla. — In a significant law enforcement action, 28-year-old Curtis Lee Smith-Carter has been handed a 27-month federal prison sentence for possessing a firearm as a convicted felon. This sentencing was officially disclosed by John P. Heekin, the United States Attorney for the Northern District of Florida.

Highlighting the importance of community safety, U.S. Attorney Heekin stated, “Our citizens deserve to live in communities without dangerous, armed criminals – like this serial felon – threatening their safety. My office will continue to aggressively prosecute these cases to ensure we deliver on that promise.”

Initial Arrest Details

The chain of events leading to Smith-Carter’s arrest began on November 8, 2025. A keen-eyed officer from the Gainesville Police Department observed Smith-Carter as he hastily picked up his backpack and walked away when the officer’s patrol car pulled into the back lot of Food Max, located at 1304 E. University Avenue—an area known for its high drug and crime activity.

As the officer pursued, Smith-Carter took off running toward the store’s front. Despite verbal commands to stop, including a warning of a K-9 unit present, Smith-Carter continued his flight. In a desperate move, he tossed his backpack into a blazing pile of hot ashes and flung a .32 caliber pistol over a chain-link fence. Upon investigation, the backpack was found to contain a holster that matched the handgun perfectly, firmly linking Smith-Carter to the weapon.

Post Miranda, Smith-Carter reportedly admitted to possessing a handgun, although he has nine felony convictions; he said he found it and kept it because he doesn’t like to fight. Smith-Carter was originally arrested on state charges of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, tampering with evidence, and resisting an officer without violence, but those charges were dropped after the federal indictment was filed.

Gainesville Police Chief Nelson Moya said, “Those who have been convicted of a felony and choose to possess a firearm put our community at risk and will be held accountable.”

The case involved an investigation by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives and the Gainesville Police Department. Assistant United States Attorney Adam Hapner prosecuted the case.

Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN) is the Department of Justice’s nationwide initiative that brings federal, state, local, and tribal law enforcement, prosecutors, and other public safety partners together to coordinate efforts to combat violent crime and make communities safe. Coordinated by U.S. Attorneys’ offices in each of the 94 federal districts, PSN is tailored to particular communities to strategically address specific violent crime and public safety challenges. As a key component of Operation Take Back America, PSN serves a central role in the Department’s commitment to make our country safe. PSN emphasizes three core principles: rapid federal response to violent crime and criminal offenders; strong, strategic partnerships among law enforcement at all levels; and accountability and deterrence through the prosecution of the most serious, readily provable offenses and other strategies. These efforts complement and strengthen President Trump’s Homeland Security Task Forces, ensuring a comprehensive federal response to the most pressing public safety issues facing communities.

Essential Cyclops Guide for Marvel’s Avengers: Doomsday Fans

0

Immerse yourself in the latest superhero action by watching the teaser video above—featuring all you need to know about Cyclops before diving into the epic “Avengers: Doomsday.”

Last year, Marvel Studios captivated fans with a teaser announcing the exciting return of the X-Men in the eagerly awaited “Avengers: Doomsday.” The trailer concludes with a sensational scene where Cyclops, portrayed by James Marsden, is seen unleashing his powerful optic blasts without his signature ruby quartz visor. Shot in the ruins of the iconic X-Mansion, the moment captures Cyclops in his comic-accurate costume, hinting at intense battles in the film. Make sure to check out the video above for a comprehensive look at Cyclops’s journey before heading to the theaters.

James Marsden first brought to life the character of Scott Summers — the devoted leader of the X-Men and romantic interest of telepath Jean Grey, played by Famke Janssen, in the original ‘X-Men’ movie by 20th Century Fox in 2000. Known in the superhero community as Cyclops, he has had notable story arcs, not just as Jean’s love interest but also as Wolverine’s (Hugh Jackman) bluff rival. While the characters have been portrayed in prequels by actors Tim Pocock and Tye Sheridan, the X-Men timeline is notoriously intricate, which might necessitate a quick refresh for dedicated and new fans alike.

Excitement is building as “Avengers: Doomsday” test screenings begin to cause a stir, showcasing the sequel to the groundbreaking “Avengers: Endgame” as a monumental event in the cinematic universe. The highly anticipated return of the X-Men promises to elevate the movie to unprecedented heights when it hits theaters in 2026.

James Marsden said yes to Avengers: Doomsday without reading the script

In “Avengers: Doomsday,” Robert Downey Jr. debuts as Doctor Doom, a formidable villain compelling the X-Men, Avengers, and Fantastic Four to come together across the multiverse to combat his sinister plans. With Disney’s purchase of 20th Century Fox in 2019, comic book enthusiasts eagerly anticipated the X-Men’s inclusion in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. By 2020, James Marsden expressed his enthusiasm for reprising his role as Cyclops, adding to the speculated fusion of these iconic superhero teams.

His return to the franchise wasn’t announced until five years later, however, with the “Jury Duty” and “Sonic the Hedgehog” actor telling Entertainment Weekly that his “Doomsday” casting was “a nice little homecoming to a role that really put me on the map.” Keeping this in mind, it isn’t surprising that when Marvel came calling, it took little to convince Marsden to don Cyclops’ iconic visor once again.

In a 2026 interview with ComicBook.com to promote the movie “Mike & Nick & Nick & Alice,” Marsden stated, “We talked about what my involvement would be and everything, but I hadn’t actually read the script yet. So that was something like, yeah, sure, yes, of course.” What does the future hold for Cyclops in the MCU? We’ll have to wait until “Avengers: Doomsday” hits theaters to find out, but in the meantime, watch the above video for the ultimate Cyclops explainer.

Meghan Markle Shuts Down Rumors of Senate Ambitions With Firm Denial

0

The Duchess of Sussex has refuted rumors of her supposed aspirations to become a US Senator. These claims followed reports that she had engaged with California’s governor, possibly with an eye on securing Kamala Harris’s Senate position.

The suggestion that Meghan was eyeing a political career, reportedly disclosed just before the 2020 elections, was detailed in an article by The New York Post. This comes amid news that the duchess and Prince Harry might be considering a return to the UK after six years spent in the United States.

Governor Newsom’s office has previously acknowledged that a meeting took place with Harry and Meghan on October 19, 2020, labeled an ‘introductory meeting’ in official documentation. The specifics of their discussion remain undisclosed.

Insiders suggested that Markle’s interest in the meeting, arranged before Joe Biden’s electoral triumph over Donald Trump, was intended to present a warm California welcome to the royal couple.

Nonetheless, sources also imply that Meghan was exploring the possibility of filling the US Senate seat that Harris was about to vacate in preparation for her role as Biden’s vice president.

The seat was eventually given to California’s Secretary of State Alex Padilla, who then won election to a full, six-year term in 2022.

A source with Markle told the Post that the Duchess did not want to take Harris’ seat.

The Daily Mail has reached out to a spokesman for the Duchess of Sussex and to Governor Newsom for comment.

The Post report also alleges that the couple asked to meet Joe Biden in the Oval Office in 2021 but were shut down by White House staff.

Biden sources claim that it was rejected on the grounds that it would have caused issues with the UK’s prime minister and the rest of the royal family.

Both President and First Lady Jill Biden ‘didn’t want to get into a family squabble’ given their affection for Queen Elizabeth II.

They also allegedly asked if they could fly back to the United States alongside the Bidens on Air Force One following the queen’s funeral and the source claimed they were promptly rebuffed.

The royal couple hired consultants who had worked for both President Barack Obama and Biden, including ex-Press Secretary and current MS Now host Jen Psaki, the outlet said.

Prince Harry’s current chief of staff, Miranda Barbot, herself a former Obama staffer, was used as a conduit between the royals and the White House, the report stated.

A Biden source told the Post that the pair had worn out their welcome with the Bidens, and that this was evidenced by neither of them continuing to attend Harry’s Invictus Games after 2021.

News that Harry and Meghan plan to return to Britain for an extended period and enroll Archie, seven, and Lilibet, five, in an English school suggests the couple have accepted that their American adventure has not delivered the glittering commercial empire once envisaged.

A lucrative Spotify deal is long gone and their original Netflix contract has ended. The duchess’s series With Love, Meghan lasted two seasons.

Sources close to Harry briefed at the weekend that his family reunion with King Charles last month left the duke feeling ‘buoyed,’ ‘very happy’ and ‘really energized.’

Crucially, they added: ‘He wants to spend more time in the UK with his family.’

He will now get his wish. The family are expected to establish themselves in a private, non-royal residence and could remain in Britain while Archie and Lilibet complete their education.

But there will be no return to life as working royals.

The King, who is understood to have been informed of Harry’s plans only on Sunday, is said to welcome the opportunity to spend more time privately with his younger son and grandchildren.

But Buckingham Palace’s position on Harry and Meghan’s official status is understood to be unchanged.

There will be ‘no alteration’ to their roles as private individuals and non-working members of the Royal Family, in keeping with the arrangements established after their sensational departure in 2020.

4 Chair Exercises to Firm Up Sagging Arms Fast for Those Over 65

0

Tone and define your arms with exercises using just a sturdy chair and a few simple tools.

>

Struggling with unwanted arm sag and aiming to firm up those triceps? You’re not alone, and we’re here to guide you. As we age, often beginning as early as our 30s, we naturally experience a decline in muscle mass and collagen. Fortunately, you can counter these effects with targeted changes in your diet, exercise routine, and everyday habits, allowing you to redefine and tone your arms effectively.

We had the opportunity to speak with Josh York, the Founder and CEO of GYMGUYZ—the largest in-home and on-site personal training company in the world. He shared with us four chair exercises designed to strengthen your arm muscles more efficiently than traditional gym machines, especially for those over 65.

So, why should you consider integrating chair workouts into your arm-strengthening routine?

York explains, “A chair challenges your body because it requires you to stabilize yourself, unlike machines that guide your movement through a fixed path. As a result, chair exercises place a greater emphasis on support and movement control. The beauty of chair workouts lies in their simplicity and accessibility, allowing them to be performed in the comfort of your home. When workouts are easy to access, maintaining consistent practice becomes achievable, which is ultimately what transforms your results—not the equipment you use.”

Lateral Raises

“Lifting your arms out to the side directly engages the deltoid, the muscle that plays a significant role in shoulder strength. Doing this as a seated chair exercise lets you ground your feet into the floor and sit tall against the chair, giving you a stable base so all the work stays isolated in the shoulder instead of leaking into the rest of your body,” York tells us.

  1. Begin seated with your feet flat on the floor and a dumbbell in each hand, palms facing in.
  2. Slowly lift your arms out to the side until they reach shoulder height.
  3. Hold for a few seconds at the top before lowering.

These 2 Exercises Build Arm Strength Faster Than Traditional Workouts After 40

Seated Bicep Curls

“The bicep is the muscle most people picture when they think ‘toned arms.’ Doing this seated with a dumbbell or band means your core and shoulders have to stay stable while your bicep does the work,” York explains.

  1. Begin seated on a sturdy chair, holding a dumbbell or water bottle in each hand at your sides with a supinated grip.
  2. Bend your elbows to curl the weights up toward your shoulders.
  3. Squeeze your biceps at the top of the movement.
  4. Use control to lower the weights back to the start position.

7 Moves to Build Strong Arms in 30 Days After 45

Chair Dips

“The back of the arm is one of the most common areas people want to firm up, and this move isolates it directly. Chair dips replace a tricep machine or cable pushdown by using only your own bodyweight for resistance,” York explains.

  1. Begin sitting at the edge of a sturdy chair.
  2. Place your hands on the edge of the seat and lift your tailbone off the chair.
  3. Walk your feet away until your knees, hips, and torso form 90-degree angles.
  4. Activate your core and keep your shoulders relaxed as you bend your elbows and lower your body just below the seat.
  5. Press back up until your arms are straight, engaging your triceps as you do so.

5 Standing Arm Exercises That Smooth Jiggle Faster Than Weights After 45 (No Equipment)

Lateral Palm Rotation

“This is a great example of a movement no machine in the gym really replicates. The continuous rotation works the smaller stabilizing muscles around the forearm and elbow, areas that often get overlooked but contribute to an overall toned, defined look through the entire arm,” York notes.

  1. Begin sitting tall in a sturdy chair with your feet flat on the ground.
  2. Bend both elbows to roughly 90 degrees, keeping them close to the sides of your body.
  3. Hold your forearms out in front of you, palms facing up.
  4. Gradually rotate both forearms so your palms turn down.
  5. Reverse the motion.
  6. Continue to alternate.

Lindsay Clancy Trial: Jury Deliberations Suspended Again Amid Mysterious Developments

0

In the ongoing Lindsay Clancy murder trial, jurors were dismissed early once again this week due to an undisclosed matter.

“We’re going to have kind of a short day,” Judge William Sullivan informed the jury on August 20, marking the 17th day of proceedings. He mentioned that the issue was unrelated to any legal representatives involved in the case. Sullivan addressed the jury about this unexpected interruption.

Sullivan reassured the jurors, “It’s just something we’re going to work out, and I anticipate it will be resolved so that tomorrow, you should expect a longer session.” He emphasized the importance of not speculating about the cause of the delay.

The judge also advised the jurors, “You are not to hold it against either of the parties. If there’s anyone you should place responsibility upon, let it be me,” emphasizing his accountability for the situation.

“You’re not to hold it against either of the parties,” Sullivan said. “If you’re going to hold it against anybody, you can hold it against me.”

News Nation reporter Brian Etin—who was present in the court room—observed that Sullivan has “some things to work out,” he wrote on X, later adding. “Something is going on behind the scenes.”

The shortened proceedings came one day after Sullivan dismissed the jury early due to an “unforeseen circumstance.”

“This is not something we saw coming,” Sullivan told jurors on Aug. 19. “It’s just something that we have to deal with.”

Lindsay is on trial for strangling her children, Cora, 5, and sons Dawson, 3, and Callan, 8 months, in Jan. 2023 before trying to take her own life. While her lawyer alleges the 36-year-old—who had pleaded not guilty—was experiencing postpartum psychosis at the time of the killing, the prosecution claims Lindsay intentionally planned the killings.

Earlier the proceedings, Chaplin Sheila Cavanaugh testified about meeting with Lindsay at Brigham and Women’s Hospital at least 14 times after her suicide attempt, in which she threw herself from a second-story window.

“She was dressed in medical armor,” Cavanaugh recalled Aug. 20. “She had tubes, she was intubated, she had bandages…she was just covered and layered in equipment that enabled her to breathe.”

Cavanaugh described Lindsay’s emotional state as “very neutral” with a “flat affect” during one January visit, adding, “I remember vividly the first thing she said to me.”

“We had been praying together,” Cavanaugh said, “and so when I went in on Tuesday the 31st, she said to me as I held her hand to comfort her, ‘I am so glad my children are safe.'”

Cavanaugh said she replied “theologically” to Lindsay, saying, “Your children are safe. They’re safe in heaven with God.”

According to Cavanaugh, Lindsay also alluded to hearing a “persistent” male voice that told her if she didn’t follow “the command,” neither she nor her children would be safe. Cavanaugh said conversations about the voice surfaced several times over the course of her visits with Lindsay.

In late February 2023, Lindsay was transferred to Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital, and later to Tewksbury State Hospital, where Cavanaugh said she visited her approximately 200 times.

“We had built up a very comfortable, respectful rapport,” explained Cavanaugh. “I felt it was in her best interest to continue that as she healed.”

According to Cavanaugh, Lindsay is consumed by the loss of her children.

“Lindsay talks frequently about her children,” she said. “She loves them deeply; she carries immense grief.”

Gaza Mediators Warn Israeli Strikes Threaten Peace Progress at Pivotal Moment

0

Israeli strikes have killed at least 16 Palestinians since Tuesday, according to Gaza medics.

In a strong rebuttal to the ongoing violence in the Gaza Strip, Türkiye, Egypt, and Qatar have condemned recent Israeli airstrikes and insistently called for immediate adherence to ceasefire agreements, warning against actions that could further inflame the volatile situation.

This united declaration came on the heels of Israeli airstrikes that, according to local medical sources, resulted in the deaths of at least 16 Palestinians since the strikes began on Tuesday. Israeli authorities have justified these actions by stating their targets were Hamas militants.

“By escalating attacks, Israel risks undermining critical regional and international initiatives currently aimed at implementing the Comprehensive Plan to End the Gaza Conflict,” the nations articulated in their joint statement.

Amid these tensions, U.S. envoy Jared Kushner concluded a regional tour on Monday, aimed at fostering advancement of President Donald Trump’s proposed plan to resolve the conflict.

Emphasizing the importance of international oversight, the involved nations urged Trump’s Board of Peace to rigorously enforce the ceasefire compliance to prevent any further aggravation of hostilities.

A proposed road map envisaged Hamas ‌giving up its weapons in phases as Israeli forces withdrew from the enclave and halted military operations.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu rejected that sequencing, insisting that Hamas must fully disarm before an Israeli withdrawal.

Hamas has demanded that Israel adhere to the ceasefire and withdraw its forces from ‌the Gaza Strip.

Hamas has also disputed the sequencing of how Trump’s plan should be implemented.

At least 1,283 Palestinians have been killed in the territory since the ceasefire took effect last October, according to Gazan health officials, while the Israeli military says four Israeli soldiers have been killed.

Substitute Teacher’s Arrest Sparks Panic with Fake Active Shooter Alerts at Five Schools, Says Sheriff

0

In Louisiana, a substitute teacher’s actions led to panic across five schools after she allegedly triggered false active shooter alerts, causing district-wide security responses, authorities reported.

Lytonja Barfield, aged 58, faces charges on five counts of menacing following an investigation into the incidents that unfolded on Wednesday, as disclosed by Caddo Parish Sheriff Henry Whitehorn Sr.

The investigation by the Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office commenced after the Caddo Parish School Board raised concerns about potential threats stemming from emergency alerts issued at multiple schools.

Don Gibbs, head of security for the school board, informed investigators that Barfield, serving as a substitute teacher, allegedly exploited the district’s emergency management system to falsely report active shooter situations at five schools, according to the details from the sheriff’s office.

School officials responded to the alerts by implementing security measures to protect students and staff while they worked to determine whether the reported threats were legitimate.

Officials determined the alerts were false and identified Barfield as the person responsible for sending them, the sheriff’s office said.
