Hayden Panettiere’s Surprising Love Affair with Her Partner’s Sibling

0

The Daily Mail has uncovered that Hayden Panettiere had romantic ties to the Hickerson brothers—Brian and Zach—both of whom were reportedly at the scene following her suspected overdose.

The revelation comes amidst new exclusive photos capturing Zach Hickerson, 38, seen publicly for the first time after the tragic and unexpected passing of the actress on Tuesday.

Zach chose not to provide a comment to the Daily Mail when asked, following the emergence of a police report indicating that he, along with his brother Brian, 37—Panettiere’s intermittent partner—were present when she was discovered unresponsive at an Airbnb in Greenville, South Carolina, last Sunday.

The relationship between Panettiere, 36, and realtor Brian was known to be particularly volatile, characterized by numerous incidents of domestic violence over the years.

However, in an exclusive detail revealed by the Daily Mail, it appears that the Heroes star had also been romantically involved with Zach, a pastor, during a period when Brian was incarcerated for an assault on her back in 2019.

The two were seen strolling in Manhattan’s SoHo neighborhood in September that year, with a witness saying, ‘They looked very comfortable. Like a real couple.’

That might explain why he cut such a haunted figure when the Daily Mail approached him for comment at his home in Greenville, South Carolina.

Zach, a pastor and founder of an independent church in Nashville, was dressed entirely in black with dark circles visible under his eyes, suggesting a sleepless night.

‘No comment, bro, and with no offense to you and what you’re trying to do, this is private property,’ he told our reporter.

‘Please respect our privacy. I’m not going to answer anything that you ask me.

‘I would appreciate it if you wouldn’t mind just leaving us alone. I know you’re just doing your job.’

It was Zach who arrived at the rental property to find Panettiere unresponsive on a living room armchair around 1.30pm, while Brian was asleep in a bedroom, TMZ reported Tuesday.

Both Zach and Brian called 911 when they failed to wake Hayden up. EMS teams ‘worked on her’ for nearly an hour before she was formally declared dead in front of the brothers, according to the police report.

A heavily redacted police report obtained by the Daily Mail shows first responders arrived at the luxury Judson Mill Lofts complex within minutes of a 911 call made by an ‘acquaintance.’

According to the incident summary, Zach was ‘very emotional’ as first responders tried to save mom-of-one Panettiere’s life.

Brian was stoic and did not become ‘visibly emotional’ until after Panettiere was pronounced dead from a suspected cardiac arrest.

He allegedly showed police a ‘bag of medication’ that the actress had been taking at the time of her death, kept inside the apartment complex where she was temporarily staying.

A dispatcher in audio of the emergency call could be heard saying Panettiere had suffered a suspected overdose, and sources told TMZ that Narcan – a nasal medication used to treat an opioid overdose – was also found on a mattress at the property.

Despite her brief dalliance with Zach in 2019, Panettiere later rekindled her relationship with Brian

A coroner’s report said ‘Panettiere was found unresponsive inside the residence, where she had been temporarily staying’ and had no signs of trauma to her body. A full cause of death remains pending.

The apparent dalliance between Panettiere and Zach took place after Brian was locked up for domestic abuse in 2019. It is unclear when that relationship ended.

Panettiere first began dating the younger Hickerson in 2018, however their on-off relationship became tumultuous as he was arrested several times on domestic violence charges.

But since then, and despite another alleged domestic violence incident in 2020, Brian and Panettiere had been going strong, with the pair laughing at reports that they had split – despite keeping their love low-key.

The duo’s last public sighting was as recently as March, when they were pictured at an LA airport together. At the time, Panettiere was using crutches to walk, insisting she was dealing with pinched nerves in her lower back.

Panettiere is said to have kept their apparent reconciliation under wraps.

Panettiere’s mother broke her silence on her daughter’s death Tuesday and admitted the family had long wanted Brian out of the actress’s life.

Lesley Vogel told NBC News: ‘This person in her life that we have been trying to get rid of for quite some time was with her at her death and that was Brian Hickerson.’

‘I think Hayden was an amazingly talented person in so many departments and I think young people who grow up in the entertainment industry – it is a struggle and it’s a very challenging industry and it’s not unusual for them to sadly find the wrong path.’

The Daily Mail has also since learned that Brian had filed a petition with the Los Angeles County Superior Court to expunge his criminal record of domestic abuse charges involving the actress, about a month before her untimely death.

According to a minute order filed on August 13 and reviewed by the Daily Mail, Judge Olivia Rosales denied the request just three days before Panettiere’s tragic passing.

Brian was charged in July 2020 with four domestic assault felonies, one misdemeanor count of battery, two felony counts of assault with a deadly weapon, and one felony count of dissuading a witness from prosecuting a crime.

The charges covered the period from May 2019 to July 2020.

In April 2021, he accepted a plea deal, pleading no contest to two felony counts of injuring a spouse or girlfriend.

The remaining six counts were dismissed.

He was sentenced to 45 days in jail and four years’ probation, plus $500 in fines and mandatory domestic violence classes. In May 2021, he surrendered to serve his sentence, spending 13 days behind bars.

Under his probation terms, Brian was ordered to attend Alcoholics Anonymous meetings ‘at the minimum rate of one per week,’ according to court records; he also had to complete a series of anger management sessions.

In her memoir, titled This Is Me: A Reckoning, Panettiere alleged that Brian once beat her so severely that she had to remain in her house for weeks to keep her injuries from the public.

She said she tried to keep the alleged abuse from the police because she feared the public would find out, and described her relationship as a ‘very dark and complicated time in my life.’

In one incident, Brian was arrested in May 2019, and court records show he was charged with one count of injuring a spouse or girlfriend.

Panettiere’s relationship with Brian appeared to end in 2020, and in July of that year she filed for a restraining order against him. The outcome of her request is not stated in court records.

Panettiere also spoke about giving up custody of her daughter while struggling with addiction in one of her final interviews before her death.

While battling substance addiction issues, in 2018 the actress made the decision to sign over custody of her daughter to Klitschko, who was not living in the same country as Panettiere at the time.

She said, ‘It wasn’t a decision I made lightly, nor was it a decision I even wanted to make.’

Brian is yet to comment on Panettiere’s death but Wladimir Klitschko – the actress’s former fiancé and the father of her daughter Kaya – paid an emotional tribute to his ex early on Tuesday morning.

In a statement posted to Instagram, the 50-year-old former boxer wrote: ‘Our family is going through a time of profound shock and grief.

‘The announcement of Hayden’s tragic death saddens me deeply. She left this world far too soon. Hayden was, although no longer my partner, an important part of my life and the mother of our daughter, Kaya.

‘She built an incredible career through immense talent, while also facing the darker sides of a very demanding industry. Nothing will erase the times we shared or the place she had in our lives.’

Klitschko continued: ‘To our daughter Kaya, I will always speak of her mother with respect and make sure she remembers the person she was.

‘I extend my deepest condolences to Hayden’s parents, her friends, and her fans, who are also grieving today. Young and talented people like Hayden should not leave this world so soon.

‘I ask everyone to please respect our family’s feelings and privacy during this incredibly difficult time. For now, this is all I wish to say.

‘Thank you to everyone who is supporting my family and expressing their sincere condolences. Rest easy, Hayden. May you find eternal peace. #WeLoveYouHayden.’

Brian Hickerson did not respond when the Daily Mail repeatedly reached out for comment.

Kim Kardashian’s SKIMS Breaks Records: Multi-Million Earnings in Five Minutes

In a spectacular debut, Kim Kardashian’s SKIMS menswear line shattered website records, amassing millions in just five minutes after launch.

The renowned reality star, aged 43, originally introduced her shapewear brand in 2019. However, it’s only now that she’s ventured into menswear, reportedly setting new website traffic records, as noted by TMZ.

Insiders familiar with The Kardashians icon, whose net worth stands around $1.7 billion, revealed that an astounding 25,000 orders flooded in within mere minutes of the product line launching on Thursday.

The men’s collection, featuring basics and underwear, is priced between $20 and $80. It gained more attention with an advertising campaign that starred sports icons Neymar Jr, Nick Bosa, and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander.

Kim expressed enthusiasm over this strategic expansion, calling it a ‘major milestone’ for her company as it expands its offerings to include a men’s range.

Towards the end of last year, the billionaire businessman expanded her brand to include pyjamas  and over the summer launched her latest swimwear eange with the brand.

What’s more, the Armenian beauty recently explained that the whole inspiration for her business venture was inspired by her own struggles to find shapewear that would match her skin colour.

She told TIME Magazine: “It started off with simply finding shapewear that was a skin tone that would match my colour.

‘I used to take my shapewear and dye it with tea bags and coffee in the bathtub. I always like to see it on myself. I can absolutely tell when I miss a few drops.”

‘The night that got shot, under my dress I was wearing a SKIMS shaping bodysuit. It was so tight on me that it literally kept me from bleeding out. I recommend it. I recommend it.’

Kim quickly became aware of the viral video and commented: ‘wowww’.

Armed Gainesville Man Arrested for Violating Protective Order, Igniting Community Outrage

0

Staff report

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – In a bold incident unfolding in the early hours, Reginald Tremaine Thomas, age 42, faces serious charges for allegedly breaching a domestic violence injunction and committing armed trespass. Thomas purportedly used an old house key to gain unauthorized entry to the victim’s residence while carrying a firearm.

The situation came to a head around 12:42 a.m. on August 3, when officers from the Gainesville Police Department were dispatched to the scene. According to reports, Thomas entered the home and, with a silver gun in hand, advanced toward the victim’s male friend. This prompted the male friend to escape through the back door. Authorities have confirmed that an active injunction specifically forbids Thomas from any contact with the victim.

Despite the tense encounter, the victim relayed that Thomas did not aim the firearm at her. Instead, his focus was directed toward her male friend. Interestingly, the friend chose not to cooperate with law enforcement and expressed no desire to press charges.

An officer involved in the case remarked on an earlier visit to the residence on the same day. However, Thomas had vacated the premises prior to the officer’s arrival, adding another layer to the unfolding narrative.

Thomas has been charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, armed trespassing, and violating an injunction. He has six felony convictions (one violent) and four misdemeanor convictions (non-violent); he has served one state prison sentence and was released in 2008. He is being held on $180,000 bail.

Articles about arrests are based on reports from law enforcement agencies. The charges listed are taken from the arrest report and/or court records and are only accusations. All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Texas Teen Seeks New Trial and Judge Following Conviction in Fatal Track Meet Stabbing

0

In a high-profile case that has captured nationwide attention, a Texas teenager convicted of a deadly stabbing incident is now seeking a retrial, citing issues with the judge’s conduct. The teen, found guilty of killing a 17-year-old at a high school track event, claims the case was mishandled.

Karmelo Anthony, who was 19 at the time of the conviction, received a 35-year prison sentence. A Collin County jury rejected his self-defense argument concerning his confrontation with Austin Metcalf in the stadium bleachers last year, leading to his conviction for murder.

This week, in suburban Dallas, hearings will begin to consider Anthony’s request for a new trial and a different judge, highlighting possible judicial errors that might have influenced the case’s outcome.

A courtroom sketch provided by Pat Lopez shows Karmelo Anthony, center, at the defense table, the jury on the left and the presiding judge on the right, June 4, 2026, in McKinney, Texas.

Anthony’s defense argues that District Judge John Roach imposed unduly harsh courtroom rules and failed to provide complete jury instructions. These alleged missteps, they contend, may have rushed the jury’s decision, which came after just three hours of deliberation following a near weeklong trial.

The incident drew heightened scrutiny, partly due to the viral spread of social media posts presenting the crime in racial terms; Anthony is Black, while Metcalf was white. Nonetheless, both legal teams emphasized in court that race was not a factor in this tragic confrontation.

Anthony did not testify during the trial.

During the trial, students described a heated exchange over Anthony’s refusal on a rainy spring day to leave a tent that belonged to Metcalf’s team. The teens went to different high schools.

Several schools were competing when Anthony sat under the Memorial High School tent that was perched in the bleachers. Austin Metcalf and others had repeatedly told Anthony to leave, witnesses testified, leading to an escalating confrontation.

Prosecutors said Anthony provoked Metcalf, and witnesses testified that Anthony was the aggressor.

Anthony at one point reached inside a bag and replied: “Touch me and see what happens,” according to a police report.

Metcalf pushed Anthony, according to witnesses, who said Anthony then pulled out a knife and stabbed him in the chest.

Wande Coal Fires Back at Davido: Unreleased Song Soared Even Without You

In a recent development in the Nigerian music scene, artist Wande Coal has countered Davido’s statements about why their anticipated collaboration remains unreleased, suggesting there’s more to the story than what has been shared.

This discourse was sparked by Davido during a podcast, where he shared his perspective on the collaboration. As per Davido’s narration, Wande Coal reached out to him, asking for a verse to enhance the song. He mentioned that he later learned of plans to debut the original track before unveiling a version that would include his remix contribution.

Davido said he was not comfortable with that arrangement because he had recorded his verse with the understanding that it would be part of the main song rather than a remix.

“I recorded the song, then he wanted to drop the song first and use my own verse for the remix, but I was like, no, because I didn’t record the song for a remix.”

He added that he believed his contribution to the record was particularly strong and expressed regret that the collaboration did not eventually see the light of day.

However, Wande Coal has now challenged Davido’s version of events.

Taking to X on Tuesday, August 18, the veteran singer appeared to question why Davido believed he could determine the release strategy for a song that belonged to him.

“Carry song come give you as how? Song wey been get release plan and date!!! Song wey no be your own you wan dictate release plan. That song did well without you on it bruv!!!”

Wande’s response suggests that the song already had a release plan and date before Davido’s involvement. He also maintained that the record was successful without the unreleased collaboration, making it clear that he did not believe Davido’s contribution was necessary for the song to perform well.

Her family discovered her vehicle parked outside the North Garland restaurant where she worked. Inside the car were her phone, keys, Apple Watch, and AirPods, raising concerns about her sudden disappearance.

A note left behind by Camilla was also found, although its contents have not been released to the public. This led investigators to handle the case as a missing person scenario, ruling out any foul play for the time being.

Fuentes is set to head to VIllanova University in the fall to study civil engineering.

Diane Keaton’s LA Mansion Sells for Millions Below Asking

0

The Los Angeles residence in Sullivan Canyon that once belonged to the late Diane Keaton has been sold for $18 million. This transaction occurred 10 months following her passing on October 11th at the age of 79.

Josh Flagg of Compass managed the sale for the Oscar-winning actress’s party, while Emil Alexander Schneeman of Berkshire Hathaway represented the anonymous buyer. The agreement was finalized on Tuesday, as reported by Realtor.com.

Keaton’s sprawling estate, which features five bedrooms and seven bathrooms, experienced a significant reduction in its asking price. Initially put on the market in March 2025 for $28.9 million, it ultimately sold for considerably less.

The renowned author’s industrial-style property had undergone three separate listings, the latest of which was in June for $22.9 million.

Originally acquired by Keaton (née Hall) in 2011 for $4.7 million, the 9,219-square-foot farmhouse underwent an extensive eight-year renovation. This transformation was chronicled in her 2017 publication, The House That Pinterest Built.

The primary beneficiaries are the two-time Golden Globe winner’s two children – daughter Dexter ‘Dexie’ White, 30, and son Duke Keaton, 26 – whom she adopted in 1996 and 2001.

Keaton’s favorite room was reportedly ‘that damn kitchen’ featuring a large vintage clock and huge skylights.

On January 5, the Keaton Red winemaker’s children enlisted tattoo artist Winterstone to ink special tributes to their ‘wonderful mom.’

‘First Mother’s Day without you,’ Dexie wrote on May 10.

The Daily Mail has reached out to Duke and Dexie for comment but did not immediately hear back.

Keaton, who reportedly left behind a $100 million fortune, was said to have been cremated three days after her shock passing from a bout of primary bacterial pneumonia.

Trump Suspends Canada Tariffs Amid Keystone XL Revival Hopes

0

Late Tuesday, President Donald Trump’s strategy of using tariffs as leverage succeeded. Just less than two hours before a proposed 50 percent tariff on Canadian goods was set to begin, Canada opted to negotiate, leading Trump to extend the tariff deadline by three days to finalize an agreement.

The tariffs, targeting nearly $20 billion worth of Canadian exports, were initially scheduled to be enforced starting at midnight.

Trump announced that both nations have reached an understanding, contingent on the completion of formal documentation.

In his typical fashion, Trump teased a potential resurrection of the Keystone XL Pipeline, a project that President Joe Biden previously canceled, by suggesting, “The great Keystone XL Pipeline, long ago killed by Sleepy Joe Biden, may be awoken from the grave!” he wrote.

If Keystone is part of the final deal, it would be a generational reversal. One of the left’s most prized environmental victories, undone by a trade negotiation.

A White House proclamation issued Tuesday night formally moved the tariffs’ effective date from August 19 to 12:01 AM ET on August 22.

The delay applies to three sets of duties Trump ordered July 20. They grew out of fights over American liquor, dairy products, automobiles, and auto parts.

Canada pulled American liquor from store shelves last year in retaliation for Trump’s tariffs, but continued selling products from other countries without restriction. Trump also targeted Canada’s dairy quotas for U.S. cheese and its vehicle tariffs.

Canada Snubs U.S. at Bridge Opening, Trump Reminds Them Who Gets 50 Percent of the Revenue

Tuesday’s proclamation says Canada has promised to address all three disputes. That was enough for Trump to move the deadline to Saturday.

Trump turned to a provision no president had ever actually used to get there: Section 338 of the Tariff Act of 1930. The law allows a president to impose duties of up to 50 percent on any country found to be discriminating against American commerce. Tuesday’s threatened tariffs would have been the first time it was ever pulled off the shelf.

The U.S. Trade Representative’s office listed more access for American goods, economic security measures, digital trade rules, and protections for American workers. No actual agreement was published.

Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney was notably less triumphant. While Trump was declaring a deal, Carney was carefully hedging.

“Substantial progress has been made, although there is important work still to be done,” Carney said.

Trump and Carney spoke Monday and Tuesday. Canada has also been pressing the United States to ease existing tariffs on steel, aluminum, automobiles, and lumber. Those duties remain in place for now. Tuesday’s order only moved the Section 338 tariffs.

Canada’s provinces control liquor sales, so Carney needs their help to get American bottles back on store shelves. Ontario Premier Doug Ford has said Ontario will end its ban if Canada gets a fair deal.

Keystone XL does not appear in Tuesday’s proclamation, and neither government had published a final agreement by early Wednesday. Canada has until 12:01 AM Saturday to deliver. If it doesn’t, the tariffs snap back automatically, and Trump doesn’t have to do a thing.

I’ve honed my craft in the art of complaining to achieve significant results—from securing a $400 refund from my bank when they failed to provide a replacement transaction card before I traveled abroad, to obtaining compensation for medical expenses from an airline after a friend’s mother was injured during a flight.

I am tenacious in my pursuits and I’m difficult to get rid of.

But I wasn’t always like this.

Born in the 50s, I grew up mostly in Sydney’s inner-west in a time when even an eye roll was perhaps considered subversive of the notion that we shouldn’t complain too much.

Because of this, I was always terrified of being seen as a whinger and would bury any grievances I had about all the ways women were treated.

Then feminists such as Germaine Greer and Betty Friedan hit my consciousness at around age 15, and I realised how much women endured, which made me have newfound respect for my mum.

Despite this awareness, I continued for the next decade to put up with many experiences I believed were just typical for young women.

I didn’t complain when I spent half a day getting ready for a date, and they’d show up looking like they just fell out of bed; I didn’t complain when my bum was pinched as a barmaid or when I’d have to lock myself in a storeroom to avoid the advances of a coworker.

Complaining meant you had no sense of humour and took yourself too seriously.

It wasn’t until my mid-20s, working as a social worker, mostly in the criminal justice system, that I was surrounded by many women who taught me I didn’t need to put up with it.

‘I’m not going to keep my mouth shut anymore’

Then, when I was a 34-year-old mother of two, I earned my law degree and really felt empowered to complain, as it taught me how to navigate the systems and rules that structure society.

I thought, “I know the system. I know how it’s supposed to work, so I’m not going to keep my mouth shut anymore.”

As a social worker and solicitor, who also worked for the NSW Ombudsman, I’ve learnt a lot from other “professional complainers” over the past four decades — even if some seemed worn from battling bureaucracy and institutions.

My “professional complaining” has largely been advocating for others for housing and those experiencing addiction. People call me up with an issue they need help with, and they know I’ll gladly open my big mouth and advocate for them, wasting no time to get their issues resolved.

How to complain successfully

I think people could complain more, but they don’t know how to do it successfully; there is a process you must follow to be a good complainer.

My “Charter of Complaining” has two main rules to follow.

The first rule is: do it in writing. Making a telephone complaint is often a complete waste of time, as a conversation can be ignored or forgotten. Creating a written artefact makes it much more difficult to be ignored; a document or email is a thing which needs to be dealt with.

The second rule of complaining is to target the proper decision maker. There is little point in complaining to the call centre worker based offshore — that’s just bullying. You need to target the person with the power to address the problem.

I’d also say, learn the system. Work out that if you get knocked back for your pension, you can complain about it, and then you can go to the tribunal about it, and then you can go to various courts about it.

‘A civic duty’

At my age, I feel I have earned the right to speak my mind when the situation requires it — always in complete sentences, with correct grammar and supporting evidence.

As well as being a professional complainer, I’m now also a professional ‘complainee’ as a university lecturer.

Some students seemingly see it as their right to complain about pretty much everything — from having to physically borrow a book from the library, to having to show up for class.

I am either the Wicked Witch of the West or Glinda the Good in my end-of-semester evaluations from students — there is no middle ground.

But I get it and see complaining as a civic duty for those of us with the wherewithal to do it.

With confidence and knowledge of how systems work, complaining can be an exercise of citizenship which supports our democratic processes. If you can write a decent letter or email about something that might be affecting lots of other people, then you should do it.

Complaining about social issues is a very valuable thing, as you don’t have social change without social action. Speaking up about faulty systems means that change can happen.

Putting up and shutting up means that things stay the same.
