Horrified Reporter Watches Helicopter Crash on LA Street Live On Air

0

A devastating video captures the moment NBC journalist Robert Kovacik watched a helicopter crash in Los Angeles, initially unaware that members of his own station’s crew were on board.

Kovacik, a reporter for NBC 4, was covering a separate bus crash in LA’s Chatsworth area on Tuesday night when the helicopter came down in a parking lot nearby.

As flames consumed the aircraft, Kovacik and his crew hurried toward the scene. At the time, he did not know his colleagues, Eliana Moreno and George Marciniw, were inside the downed chopper.

Thick, dark smoke rose above the crash site while firefighters repeatedly urged the NBC reporter to keep his distance from the dangerous area.

“Trust me, I am putting my own life in my own hands,” Kovacik pleaded with emergency responders.

His distress intensified once he learned the aircraft involved was an NBC helicopter.

“Dude, that’s my crew in there, that is my own crew,” Kovacik said in the emotional footage.

A police officer assured him: “We are gonna get them evacuated. This isn’t safe.”

Kovacik was on-air covering the bus crash when his colleagues in the NBC 4 studio interrupted his report, instructing him to move towards the billowing smoke.

‘Robert, we need you to move,’ an anchor said, interrupting his report. ‘Robert, we’re going to need you to move towards that smoke and get closer to that scene immediately.

‘We’re still working to get information on exactly what happened but we’re going to ask right now, as best you can, that you and your crew move in that direction immediately.’

The broadcast cut back to the studio as Kovacik made his way to the scene.

‘We understand there may be an aircraft down. We don’t have any more specific information than that,’ anchor Colleen Williams said.

‘Robert is driving in the direction. We did see a huge plume of black smoke in the area.’

When Kovacik’s crew resumed their feed, NBC4 viewers saw the reporter begging with law enforcement to let him on the scene.

‘We know it’s something bad judging from the smoke,’ Williams said.

Kovacik turned back toward the camera to resume his report, telling his colleagues that the LAPD would soon be evacuating them from the area.

Describing the scene, he shared how there was a ‘fire that is spreading.’

That’s when he spotted Fox 11 reporter Ed Laskos and asked ‘What are you hearing?’

Laskos put his arms around Kovacik and said: ‘It’s a chopper, a media chopper.’

‘It’s a chopper?’ Kovacik repeated back to him.

‘Yes, it’s a media chopper,’ Laskos said.

‘Are you ok? It’s not you guys, is it?’ Kovacik questioned, as a burst of flames exploded behind him.

A female reporter was ran past the cameras in tears.

Kovacik turned back to the cameras and said, ‘We don’t know where the chopper is from, we don’t know if it even is a chopper, if it’s a news chopper, we are just looking right now.’

Moreno, 38, and Marciniw, 70, were on board the NBC helicopter when it crashed near the scene of a deadly bus collision in Los Angeles just before 7pm Tuesday.

The NewsChopper4 was flying over the area between two warehouses at the intersection of Nordhoff Street and DeSoto Avenue, near where an SUV crashed into a bus earlier in the night, when it suddenly lost altitude and plunged to the ground.

Two people were killed in the bus crash, while six others were left injured, some of whom were in critical condition.

The chopper appeared to have crashed next to two shipping containers and several vehicles that were parked in the area, causing a massive blaze that threatened four vehicles nearby.

Moreno was a veteran aerial reporter for NBC4 Los Angeles and Telemundo, who had been flying in news choppers since 2010 – covering police pursuits, wildfires, traffic and major local events.

She began her career in the air after graduating from Chapman University in 2010, where she studied broadcast journalism and political science.

Moreno had worked at KCAL 9 and KCBS 2 before joining NBC and flying aboard NewsChopper4 around 2018 or 2019.

Marciniw was an experienced pilot who had logged more than 14,000 hours in the helicopter.

California Marijuana Recalled After Worker’s Mysterious Death at Cannabis Farm

0

California regulators are recalling additional cannabis products after a worker died at a large Lake County marijuana farm that has since been closed by the state.

At least four cannabis products have been recalled over possible contamination. State records confirm that two of those recalls are tied to the Lake County cultivation site where 46-year-old Yufang Lan was employed.

Officials believe Lan died after what an affidavit described as an “occupational pesticide exposure” at Joel Michaely Farms. MJBizDaily obtained the affidavit through a public records request.

Lan died in intensive care on Aug. 27, six days after an unidentified man took her to a local hospital, according to law enforcement. She was in cardiac arrest when she arrived.

The California Department of Cannabis Control suspended the farm’s license and shut down the operation on Sept. 8. Investigators alleged violations including untagged cannabis plants, inventory that could not be accounted for, failure to use the state tracking system, and breaches of environmental and pesticide laws.

The agency said the four recalled products were “adulterated” because they were “produced under unsanitary conditions and the methods, facilities, or controls used to cultivate the cannabis did not conform with pesticide statutes and regulations.”

The recalled cannabis products include:

  • Cali Lean Tincture, produced by 510 Consultants and sold at 25 retailers statewide.
  • The DCC confirmed the Iced and Martini’s recalls are connected to Joel Michaely Farms. The agency has not confirmed whether the other two products came from the farm.

And the scope of the operation was enormous.

Lake County planning records show the farm was approved for nearly 1 million square feet of cannabis canopy.

When investigators executed a search warrant Aug. 31, they allegedly found 55,069 cannabis plants, 6,000 pounds of processed cannabis, “illegal chemicals” and “approximately 20,000 gallons of contaminated liquid requiring specialized disposal.”

Officials said all of the cannabis was destroyed.

Investigators also found evidence of banned and unapproved chemicals throughout the property.

DCC Special Investigator Jaime Musuda said in a Sept. 8 affidavit that the farm consisted of “two outdoor cultivation areas” and “112 hoophouse structures.”

In roughly 20 of the hoophouses, investigators found “cans of fumigant pesticide ‘Real-Kill Indoor Fogger’” positioned several feet apart.

Outside, investigators discovered “several different bottles of illicit foreign labeled pesticides” along with “three pesticides unapproved for use” on cannabis, according to the affidavit.

Those included Eagle 20, which contains myclobutanil; Sanmite SC, which contains pyridaben; and Altus, which contains flupyradifurone.

The investigation also raised questions about the conditions faced by workers at the sprawling farm.

Musuda said about 10 to 15 workers lived on the property in cramped, unsanitary conditions with “moldy walls.” It remains unclear whether Lan was among them.

The workers all spoke Mandarin, according to the affidavit, and none had been paid because the farm had yet to turn a profit, the onsite cultivation manager told Musuda, “which could take years.”

More recalls could follow as California officials continue investigating the operation.

NBC Reporter, Pilot Identified in Fatal Los Angeles Helicopter Crash

    0

Journalist Eliana Moreno and pilot George Marciniw were identified as two of the people killed in a helicopter crash Tuesday night in Los Angeles, NBC4 Los Angeles confirmed.

Moreno and Marciniw worked for Angel City Air, the helicopter charter operator behind NBC Los Angeles’ NewsChopper4, NBC4 reported.

The NewsChopper4 crew had been reporting on a fatal bus crash in downtown Los Angeles when the aircraft, confirmed by NBC4 to be owned by the network, began losing altitude and went down. The crash also killed a person on the ground, whose identity has not been released.

For years, Moreno was a familiar presence in aerial reporting for both NBC4 and Telemundo 52. Known to viewers and colleagues as “Eli in the Heli,” she helped deliver breaking-news coverage from above Southern California.

She had flown and worked alongside Marciniw since 2023. Social media posts shared over the years showed the colleagues both on assignment and spending time together away from the job.

Marciniw was a Southern California native and a 1974 graduate of Burbank High School, according to NBC4.

“We are deeply saddened to share that a helicopter providing aerial news coverage for NBC4 and Telemundo 52 was involved in a fatal accident in Los Angeles on Tuesday evening. We extend our heartfelt condolences to the families, friends and colleagues of those who lost their lives,” NBC4 and Telemundo 52 said in a statement.

The helicopter crashed between two buildings in the Chatsworth neighborhood of Los Angeles, triggering a massive fireball. A fourth person was injured in the incident.

The injured person was transported to a local hospital in unknown condition, Los Angeles Fire Department Capt. Branden Silverman told reporters.

“Our hearts are with the victims and families of tonight’s devastating Metro bus and helicopter crashes in Chatsworth, and with the entire NBC4 family,” California Gov. Gavin Newsom wrote in a statement on X.

“Thank you to the first responders working tirelessly tonight,” he added.

Xi Jinping Health Rumours Swirl as Online Speculation Grows

    0

Fresh speculation over Chinese President Xi Jinping’s health emerged after video footage appeared to show Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi interrupting a speech to check on his Chinese counterpart.

In the clip, Modi pauses his opening remarks at the BRICS summit and looks towards Xi after an apparent disturbance draws his attention.

“Is it okay?” Modi asks the translator accompanying the Chinese leader.

Several people believed to be aides or staff members can be seen moving quickly towards Xi before briefly speaking with the president.

Moments later, Xi nods, and Modi continues with his address.

The brief exchange fuelled online rumours, with social media users questioning the Chinese president’s wellbeing.

Xi’s health has long attracted close attention, in part because details about the medical condition of China’s senior leaders are regarded as tightly guarded state secrets.

Beijing has not commented on the incident, which took place during Xi’s first visit to India in seven years.

The footage shows Modi stopping mid-speech and turning towards Xi

Footage appears to show Modi halting his speech and turning towards Xi.

Several people appearing to be aides or members of staff are seen rushing towards him before exchanging a few brief words with the president

Several apparent aides or staff members are seen hurrying towards Xi before exchanging a few words with him.

Later in the day, Xi skipped the gala dinner hosted by Modi for leaders of the BRICS nations, where ally Vladimir Putin was also in attendance.

According to India Today, a source suggested that Xi was tired and returned to his hotel to rest.

Anti-China activists and commentators quickly took to the internet to share their views on the matter, with lawyer Gordon G. Chang saying: ‘Xi Jinping is not well. This time, China could not hide his condition.’

Xie Wanjun, a Chinese political activist currently in the US, chimed in to claim that Xi ‘walked with difficulty’ when leaving the summit.

‘All of this suggests that Xi Jinping is already an elderly man, and that his regime is a dying regime,’ he added.

BRICS leaders including China, Russia and India were in New Delhi on Sunday, discussing ‘inclusive global growth’, after reaching a rare agreement calling for calm in the Middle East.

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi called for ‘cooperation’ within the bloc, which he has said represents ’50 percent of the world’s population, 40 percent of global GDP and more than 25 percent of global trade’.

‘The power of BRICS lies in our diversity and cooperation,’ Modi told leaders on the final day of talks.

BRICS was created in 2009 as a forum for major emerging economies seeking greater influence in institutions dominated by Western powers.

The group is seeking to bolster its global influence and address conflict, trade turbulence and energy security.

‘We have tried to push inclusive global growth,’ Modi said, ‘We may be rooted in different realities, but together we rise through cooperation and blossom for humanity,’ he said.

Putin said the bloc was working to create a ‘new, more just, multipolar world order’.

Xi said that a ‘world without rules is like an intersection without traffic lights; chaos and disorder are inevitable’.

Xi’s participation in BRICS was important because it was his first visit to neighbouring India since 2019, and the biggest step yet in a cautious thaw between the nuclear-armed rivals.

His visit came six years after a deadly military clash along the disputed Tibetan border between China and India, with ties gradually improving through restored flights, visas and high-level contacts.

‘Although our two countries are different in many respects, they are fully capable of complementing each other’s strengths, supporting one another, achieving mutual success and advancing together,’ Xi said as he met Modi, according to a video released by New Delhi.

The underlying territorial dispute remains unresolved, and both sides retain heavy military deployments along their roughly 3,500-kilometre (2,175-mile) high-altitude border.

India’s foreign ministry said in a statement after the meeting that ‘the two leaders expressed commitment to a fair, reasonable, and mutually acceptable resolution of the boundary question’.

Deep mistrust remains, with a widening trade deficit and strategic rivalry complicating ties.

‘Both sides should… work hand-in-hand to promote high-quality major financial cooperation, advocate an equal and sustainable global order, and foster an economic globalisation that is open and inclusive,’ Xi said.

Xi’s visit was the target of protests by dozens of Tibetans in New Delhi, exiles like their Buddhist leader, the Dalai Lama, who has lived in India since fleeing a Chinese crackdown in 1959.

Katie Price breaks silence on split from boyfriend Lee Andrews

    0

Katie Price has spoken publicly about her split from Lee Andrews, saying she feels he “scammed my heart” and describing their brief marriage as embarrassing.

The former glamour model, 48, separated from her husband of eight months in early September after learning that he allegedly had only £2.22 in his bank account, despite claims that he was a millionaire.

Price has since sought advice from a divorce lawyer. Andrews, meanwhile, is being held in prison in Dubai and sent a voice note from behind bars in which he said their separation was “for the best”.

Speaking to Susanna Reid and Ed Balls on Wednesday’s edition of Good Morning Britain, Katie said: “I feel embarrassed because I feel he scammed my heart. Do you know what I mean?

“I feel like he scammed my heart and stole my trust that I had, and me defending a man constantly because he made me believe that, ‘Kate, come on, you know I’m not like this.’”

Andrews had reportedly told Price that he held $50 million in a cryptocurrency account. She later discovered that the balance was just $3, or £2.22.

She continued: “He hasn’t scammed me for money, but I feel he has scammed me because he fabricated a person that doesn’t exist.”

Earlier in the interview, Good Morning Britain aired Andrews’ prison voice note, in which he conceded: “Divorce is for the best.”

Katie Price has broken her silence on Lee Andrews split as she said 'he scammed my heart' during a Good Morning Britain appearance on Wednesday

Katie Price addressed her split from Lee Andrews during a Good Morning Britain interview on Wednesday, saying she felt he had “scammed my heart”.

At the beginning of the segment, they also played Lee's voice note from prison as he admitted: 'Divorce is for the best'

The programme also played a voice message from Andrews in prison, where he said: “Divorce is for the best.”

He said: ‘I never throw Kate under the bus. I do feel that that’s happened to me, and it looks like there’s profit to be made from her side.

‘And obviously, some things have happened recently while I’ve been in civil jail. I’m not being convicted of any crimes, nor am I a criminal.

‘I have to standpoint that I do have my funds, and Kate was exposing the wrong amount in a wrong wallet, and you can see for yourself.’

He continued: ‘So there’s been no wool pulled over one’s eyes, but that should be between husband and wife.

‘As far as filing divorce, I think that’s probably the best thing for it… I love Kate and always will.’

After hearing the lengthy voice note, Katie said: ‘It is exhausting, and I’m sitting here listening and I’m just shaking my head because where do I start?’

Believing that he does love her she explained: ‘I do believe he did, and I think he’s got himself in such a situation where I think where he copy and pastes what he says to women, that he actually did fall from it.’

She continued: ‘I love him, but who is he? I love the man I met, but I just can’t take it. I’m not stupid, you know. I’ve been stupid.

‘Well, obviously, I was stupid to fall for him. I’ve heard the same thing. I’ve heard it for nine months.

‘I’ve heard it. He’s been in prison for two and a half months. I’ve heard from day one he was being extradited back to England.

‘I’ve heard the same story every day. I’m coming out tomorrow. I’m coming out tomorrow… There’s only so much I can take.

‘And yes, there have been exes who have tried to warn me about him and stuff like that.

‘I’ve read stuff, I’ve taken it onboard, but I have to thank the media as well because they’ve investigated him and as much as I’m like, “No, that’s not true because Lee’s telling me it’s not true.”

‘It’s come to the point where I have found out stuff myself to be like, yeah, this is a joke.’

Katie said: 'I feel embarrassed because I feel he scammed my heart. 'Do you know what I mean? I feel like he scammed my heart and stole my trust that I had'

Katie has called it quits with her husband Lee after discovering he had just £2.22 in his account despite claiming to be a millionaire

Revealing what her family think of the situation she added: ‘They said, “Well, it’s your own fault. We have told you,” and they’re right. Everyone has been right, but I had to find out myself because I have got Lee, and I’m the one who’s met him.

‘I’m the one who spent time with him, and it’s so believable. You know, when you’re in Dubai and he’s taking you these places, he’d take you in a jewellery shop, try on rings and stuff.’

Katie concluded: ‘Do you know one positive that’s come out of it is where he has been in Dubai, and so I haven’t been around him a lot, I’ve loved being on my own in my own space without a man in my pocket, and I’m not sitting here like in previous relationships, heartbroken.

‘Like I’m sitting here with a smile on my face because, in a way, he’s done me a favour to make me realise: “Of course you could be on your own, Kate. Look what you can do,” and I’ve loved it.

‘It is a shame it’s come to an end because I can’t let this drag on, and I won’t let it drag on. If only he was honest to me. That’s all I ask.’

Katie’s final message to Lee, 43, on WhatsApp earlier this month is reported to have said: ‘I have been played and you are not who you say you are. Why have you lied to me?’

According to The Sun, he had told Katie he had £37million in a crypto bank account. Lee, who is currently back in a Dubai jail, is thought to be struggling to find the funds to pay the fine for his release. Katie had no plans to see him.

Sources close to the situation said she had ‘come to her senses’ over Lee.

The insider told the publication: ‘It was, of course, an accumulation of many things but the final straw came after Lee had told Katie he had $50million (£37million) in a crypto wallet, and promised her some of the funds.

‘He gave her the “recovery phrase” – the passkey – to get into his account, and on Monday she had a financial expert access the wallet – and, to her shock, discovered it contained just $3, or £2.22.

‘Lee never had $50million; he doesn’t have a bean. The most he ever had on any one day was in March for $14,490 (£10,720) which was sent out the very same day.’

Katie’s marriage to Lee has been tumultuous. Since tying the knot with the controversial business leader following a whirlwind romance, Katie’s relationship has been plagued with drama including Lee’s prison stints, kidnapping, his various lies and accusations of scamming his exes.

Lee remains in jail despite reports he was released last month. The conman business leader was said to have been released in July following his second spell in Dubai’s Al Awir prison after being hit with fraud claims.

Earlier this month, it was claimed Lee was never released, with sources reporting his fellow inmates are ‘fed up with his constant lies’.

The Sun alleged Lee has been telling inmates his exit paperwork is ‘sorted’ each week, but as each new week comes he remains in prison. Katie previously vowed to hold her husband to account for ‘hurting other people’.

In her podcast, Katie said: ‘In fact, I’m going to get Ben [the producer of Katie’s podcast] to interview him and Ben is going to delve in deep and I want to hear everything and it’s too much and I don’t like people hurting people.

‘That’s all I’m saying on it, I’ve not put anything up online, so you’ve heard it here for the first time.’

The Daily Mail reached out to Katie’s reps who declined to comment.

Charlie Kirk’s Family to Sue Utah College After Campus Incident

    0

Charlie Kirk’s family has indicated it plans to bring legal action against several Utah authorities following the conservative activist’s assassination last year.

In a newly filed notice of claim, the family alleges a “series of stunning failures and reckless decisions” preceded Kirk’s death at Utah Valley University on September 10, 2025.

The filing was made only days after the first anniversary of Kirk’s death, an event that sent shockwaves through conservative circles and far beyond.

Kirk, the 31-year-old founder of Turning Point USA, was fatally shot during an outdoor campus gathering on the organization’s American Comeback Tour. He had been answering questions from a crowd of roughly 3,000 attendees when he was killed.

Tyler Robinson, the man accused of killing Kirk, remains in custody awaiting a murder trial and could face the death penalty if convicted.

According to the family’s claim, Utah Valley University did not carry out a meaningful security risk assessment before the event. The document specifically alleges that officials failed to examine nearby rooftops overlooking the venue, including the location from which Robinson is accused of firing.

The family also contends that UVU Police had no written event-security plan in place and did not conduct security briefings ahead of the appearance.

“Through a series of stunning failures and reckless decisions, the UVU Parties created a foreseeable danger to Charlie,” the notice obtained by the Daily Mail states.

While Kirk’s relatives have not yet put a dollar figure on the damages they may seek from Utah authorities, the notice says the potential financial losses are “substantial.”

‘Those decisions ultimately rendered Mr. Kirk helpless to the rooftop shooter in an assassination that could have been avoided had the UVU Parties only taken reasonable steps to plan and oversee a safe event, steps outlined below that have been standard practice for other universities hosting controversial speakers,’ the notice read.

The family mentioned that the authorities in Orem, Utah, ought to have been more thoughtful with planning the event, considering Trump’s assassination attempt from a rooftop shooter just months earlier in Butler, Pennsylvania.

‘The risk of a rooftop shooter should have been especially top-of-mind given the attempted assassination of President Trump, Charlie Kirk’s close friend and political ally, by a rooftop shooter the previous year,’ the notice stated.

Kirk’s family notice names State of Utah, Utah Valley University (UVU), the Utah Valley University Police Department, campus police chief Jeffrey Long, Astrid Tuminez, who was UVU’s president at the time of the assassination, and ‘other state actors.’

Kirk’s family criticized UVU Police in the notice for only deploying six campus police officers for the event, representing only 25 percent of the UVU police force despite over 3,000 attendees being at the event.

Following Kirk’s assassination, prosecutors released security footage showing the shooter running across a rooftop to a ‘sniper’s nest’ before taking the fatal shot.

Kirk’s family accused UVU authorities of failing to monitor CCTV footage in real-time, which they say would have allowed them to see the shooter preparing, and ‘Kirk’s tragic death could have been avoided.’

The filing comes days after the one-year anniversary of Kirk’s assassination, which was marked across the nation by commemoration events – including one hosted by Kirk’s Turning Point USA at the site he was killed at the UVU campus.

Ahead of the commemoration event, law enforcement was seen scouting the rooftops around the area, near to where Robinson allegedly opened fire from and where Kirk’s family now say they failed to search one year ago.

Kirk’s widow Erika took over as CEO of Turning Point USA following her husband’s assassination, however she did not attend the organization’s anniversary tribute event.

Instead, Erika shared a poignant message to social media, saying she has endured the ‘unimaginable’ since Charlie was killed.

She shared a picture of herself walking with their two young children, as she wrote: ‘To every person who has loved us, prayed for us, and carried our children and me before the Lord, not only today, but every day this past year… From the deepest place in my heart, thank you.

‘God, in his mercy, has used so many of you to steady us through the unimaginable. I will never have the words to adequately express what your love and prayers have meant to our family.

‘My Charlie… our babies and myself love you with everything we have.

Prime Healthcare CEO Prem Reddy Accuses Nurses Union Over Homes

    0

A billionaire hospital executive, his daughter and another senior leader say they were singled out in what they describe as an alarming nurses union campaign in their upscale Los Angeles community. Fliers distributed throughout the neighborhood allegedly urged people to “track them down” and claimed they “can’t hide.”

Dr. Prem Reddy, the founder, chairman and CEO of Prime Healthcare, alleges in a new lawsuit that the California Nurses Association and National Nurses United went beyond protected labor activism by bringing their campaign to the homes and families of company executives in affluent Brentwood.

According to the complaint, union supporters circulated materials containing aerial images of the executives’ residences, home square-footage information and other details about their private properties. The lawsuit also alleges that banners and placards were placed on utility poles, streetlights, trees and privately owned cars.

The alleged campaign left relatives worried about their personal safety, the filing says. It claims younger children were kept indoors and prevented from playing outside in their own backyard because of those concerns.

Prime Healthcare is asking the court to issue a temporary restraining order, followed by preliminary and permanent injunctions, against the California Nurses Association and National Nurses United.

The legal action arrives less than two years after the Dec. 4, 2024, killing of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson on a Midtown Manhattan street, a case that reverberated across the healthcare business.

Luigi Mangione later pleaded guilty to stalking and murdering Thompson and is set to be sentenced on Dec. 18.

Prime Healthcare ranks among the largest health systems in the United States, running 51 hospitals in 14 states and employing 60,000 workers and affiliated physicians.

The healthcare company generates roughly $7.4 billion in annual revenue.

The lawsuit says the alleged intimidation effort began Sept. 3, when union activists entered the Brentwood area where members of the Reddy family and other Prime Healthcare executives reside.

Reddy himself does not live in Brentwood, the complaint states, but is an active member of the community through family members who live there, including his daughter and grandchildren.

Fliers headlined ‘Where in the World is Dr. Reddy?’ allegedly urged members of the public to ‘track down’ the billionaire healthcare boss,

The materials included images of at least three executives’ homes and details including aerial photographs, square footage and descriptions of their properties, according to the complaint.

Among those allegedly targeted was Reddy’s daughter Sunitha Reddy, Prime’s chief revenue officer and vice president of operations, as well as company president and chief medical officer Dr. Sunny Bhatia.

Prime claims it took hours to remove banners and clean up litter left around the neighborhood.

The lawsuit says the material was distressing because it appeared near executives’ homes and a nearby school, where children witnessed the alleged campaign.

‘Sunitha Reddy’s home is located near a school. Younger children were thereafter kept inside and could not use their own private yard to play out of concern for their safety,’ the complaint says.

Prime alleges the union’s aim was ‘to inflict stress on the families of Prime Healthcare executives’ to gain leverage in labor negotiations with its hospitals.

The company claims it sent the union a cease-and-desist letter on Sept. 9 demanding that the residential targeting stop.

But according to the complaint, a union attorney contacted Prime the following day and allegedly suggested the targeting of executives’ homes could end if Reddy agreed to meet with the union – conduct Prime’s lawyers claim was ‘tantamount to economic extortion.’

Prime also claims it sought help from the LAPD on Sept. 9 and 10 but received no response, and separately reported the issue to the Los Angeles City Council, again without receiving a response.

The dispute escalated further after Bryant Aguilar, a California Nurses Association representative who works at Prime-owned Centinela Hospital, allegedly sent a message calling on nurses to gather in the neighborhood for a Sept. 11 rally.

‘We will be joining together in Dr. Reddy’s neighborhood and rally near his residence,’ the message said, according to the lawsuit.

The message called on Centinela nurses to participate, and Prime said the hospital employs hundreds of nurses, raising fears that a large crowd could assemble outside executives’ homes.

Prime is asking a judge to bar the unions from alleged harassment and intimidation around executives’ homes and families, including targeted picketing within 300 feet of their homes and unpermitted banners or signs.

The company is also seeking nominal and punitive damages.

The California Nurses Association was contacted for comment.

The union posted a video of members protesting Monday on X with the caption: ‘Nurses across the country are rising up systemwide against Prime Healthcare because Prime endangers patients and nurses by putting profits above all else.’

Would-Be Trump Assassin Thomas Crooks Showed ‘Red Flags’ Before Attack, Ex-FBI Agent Says

    0

Newly disclosed federal records suggest Thomas Crooks, who carried out the attempted assassination of President Donald Trump, appeared to be entering what a former FBI agent described as an “almost manic state” in the period leading up to the rally attack.

The documents, which were provided to the Senate and first detailed by the New York Post, outline concerns raised by people in Crooks’ orbit during the weeks before the shooting. The attack left one person dead and two others seriously wounded.

Jonathan Gilliam, a former FBI special agent, told News Media that the FBI material sent to lawmakers contained a series of apparent warning signs involving Crooks.

“These are definitely examples of somebody who is mentally not stable and also somebody who was spiraling into almost a manic or delusional state,” Gilliam said. “When you combine somebody who is delusional, somebody who’s hearing voices and is having almost a manic type of episode… with potential influence either by persons that they’re around or things that they see online… it’s very possible that that is the large part of this equation that we just have not seen.”

An unclassified FBI memo says Crooks was “never into explosives,” but it describes an encounter in which someone questioned him about a gallon-sized jug. Crooks reportedly said the container was used to clean the bed of his 3D printer.

The person, whose identity was withheld in the released documents, said they were skeptical of that explanation because Crooks’ “ears would flame red when he lied.” The records do not specify when the conversation about the jug occurred.

The same unidentified person recalled that Crooks became increasingly agitated as he grew older and frequently spoke to himself.

“After community college he would talk to himself more and more, moving his hands and speaking to himself…sometimes Thomas would stay up dancing all night,” the individual said, adding that he appeared to possess “endless energy.”

The individual, who appeared to be close with Crooks, said that when confronted about the habit, Crooks would “admit to talking to himself” but denied hearing voices in his head.

“Sometimes he would stay up all night, always endless energy,” an FBI notepad read.

The individual who appeared close with Crooks described his nighttime behavior to the FBI.

“THOMAS would be in [redacted] at night and it sounded like he was dancing and whispering each night. About two to three times each week, he would pace through [redacted] When [redacted] confronted THOMAS about the pacing, THOMAS would say that he was bored and trying to entertain himself. [redacted] worked [redacted] and the pacing was [redacted] distracting [redacted],” the FBI memo stated.

One of Crooks’ coworkers told law enforcement that in the weeks before the attack, he “opened up a little more” and became more “excited about going to school.”

Crooks was planning to attend Robert Morris University to study mechanical engineering and graduated with an associate degree in engineering science from the Community College of Allegheny County.

In the months before the shooting, Crooks also enrolled in the following courses at the Keystone Shooting Center:

    • Basic Carbine Course, enrolled April 30, 2024, scheduled for May 25, 2024 — $139.99
    • Basic Handgun Course, enrolled June 7, 2024, scheduled for June 13, 2024 — $139.99
    • Intermediate Handgun Course, enrolled June 1, 2024, scheduled for June 22, 2024 — $149.99

Around the time Crooks was taking these firearm courses, he was spotted with two people at Keystone Armory in Edinboro, Pennsylvania, on May 25, 2024, where be bought 20 rounds of Red Army 7.62x54R for $19.07.

“The individual believed to be Crooks was accompanied by a white male believed to be around his mid 30’s and another older white male with a gray beard, potentially one of the individual’s father. The individual believed to be Crooks and the two other males can be seen wandering throughout the firearms store looking at various firearms,” the FBI document stated.

The documents also make reference to a redacted individual, believed to be Crooks, “purchased ammo online going site to site until he found one that would sell to him.”

FBI Director Kash Patel testified on Tuesday at a Senate Oversight Committee hearing that there’s no evidence that Crooks was connected with anyone else.

“We found no evidence that that individual was literally even speaking to any other human being other than his parents, who he resided with,” Patel testified.

The documents show the FBI contacted at least one foreign government during its investigation into the assassination attempt, but offer no further detail on why.
