Perez Hilton’s Sister Reveals Shocking Firsthand Account of His Self-Harm Struggle

0

Barbara Lavandeira, sister of Perez Hilton, has revealed a disturbing eyewitness account of his recent self-harm incident during a livestream.

The 48-year-old celebrity blogger was hospitalized in Miami last Tuesday following emergency calls concerning a possible suicide attempt.

Coverage of the troubling livestream, which The Daily Mail prudently opted not to republish, depicts Hilton appearing to be bloodied, suggesting he had used a knife on himself.

The unsettling event reportedly occurred while his three children—Mario, 13, Mia, 11, and Mayte, eight—along with his niece and sister Barbara, were present at the residence.

Now Barbara, 42, has recalled becoming frightened for Hilton’s well-being, bursting into his bathroom and being confronted with the sight of him ‘standing in front of the shower, naked, cut up, covered in blood, with a box cutter in his hand,’ via Page Six.

Barbara shared a poignant reflection, noting she ‘didn’t recognize my brother.’ She remarked how his eyes seemed different, and his smile was so unfamiliar it felt like looking at someone else.

She immediately whisked the children out to the car in a frantic bid to shield them from the ‘nightmare’ unfolding inside the house.

Barbara appears to have come upon her brother, whose real name is Mario Armando Lavandeira Jr, after he had already left the TikTok livestream.

‘That afternoon, Mario was in his bedroom with the door closed and locked, which wasn’t like him. His door was almost always open,’ she recalled.

‘When I knocked, he said he was fine, but I could barely hear him. After I knocked a few more times and asked him to open the door, he stopped responding.’

Barbara then ‘tried calling his cellphone in case he couldn’t hear me, but he wouldn’t answer. Something just felt wrong,’ she said.

‘I unlocked his bedroom door and realized he was inside the bathroom. I knocked several more times and told him I was going to come in if he didn’t open the door. He still didn’t answer, so I unlocked it.’

Upon entering the room, her ‘nightmare became a reality’ as she found herself facing her bloodied brother grasping a box cutter by the shower.

‘What I can say with certainty is that I didn’t recognize my brother when I looked at him,’ said Barbara. ‘I saw it in his eyes. They didn’t look the same. Then, a split second later, he smiled at me. It felt like I was staring at someone else.’

Determined to keep the children away from the crisis, she ‘left the room, grabbed the car keys and yelled for the kids to run to the car. Thankfully, our mom wasn’t home at the time, and I was able to get everyone out quickly.’

After dialing 911 in order to call the police to her brother’s house, Barbara ‘messaged my best friend, who lives nearby, while I was on with dispatch, and asked her to please come get the kids and take them away from the scene.’

Hilton’s sister, who was visiting him from California, made her way back inside and attempted to staunch his bleeding with towels while awaiting the ambulance.

‘He had already lost a significant amount of blood, yet he was somehow still able to speak, although his voice was very faint,’ she said. ‘The ambulance took him to the hospital, and I stayed behind to speak with the crisis team that arrived.’

That date, August 4, ‘will forever be one of the darkest days my family and I have ever experienced,’ Barbara said.

On August 7, three days after he was hospitalized, Hilton’s mother, Teresita Lavandeira submitted a petition in a Miami family court to temporarily assume custody of his children, according to public records viewed by The Daily Mail.

Meanwhile, Barbara grappled with ‘whether I should say anything personally,’ noting that her brother ‘has always been an open book,’ while she was ‘the opposite.’

She described herself as ‘a very private person,’ pointing out that ‘although I’ve worked with him for many years, I’ve always stayed behind the scenes.’

Ultimately, she came to the conclusion that as the ‘only person who witnessed what happened from the beginning to the end,’ she wanted to break her silence, not only for the benefit of ‘everyone who cares about him and has been sending their best wishes’ but also in order to dispel the ‘rumors’ circulating about that night.

Barbara was particularly wounded by those who regarded Hilton’s downward spiral as a form of cosmic retribution for the viciousness of his early gossip blog.

‘The comments calling this “karma” have been especially painful. I wouldn’t wish what my mother, Mario’s children, or our entire family is experiencing on anyone,’ said Barbara, adding that her brother had expressed remorse for his earlier behavior.

‘Mario has publicly acknowledged the harm he caused earlier in his career. In 2010, he went on network television and admitted that the outings, doodles, and other things he did were wrong, and he has apologized repeatedly,’ she said.

Without ‘asking anyone to forget or excuse any of that,’ she pleaded with the public to ‘recognize that he has changed tremendously’ in the intervening years.

‘I don’t believe someone should be reduced forever to the worst things they did in their past, especially when they’ve admitted the harm and genuinely tried to grow,’ said Barbara, while noting that his ‘children and our mother are innocent. They shouldn’t be punished or tormented because of how people feel about him.’

Hilton’s team revealed over the weekend that he had sustained ‘significant blood loss’ as well as unspecified ‘additional injuries.’

According to the update, the one-time celebrity gossip blogger would ‘require surgery in the coming days’ to treat his injuries.

The statement also confirmed that Hilton ‘remains hospitalized under Florida’s Baker Act,’ a law that allows for involuntary hospitalizations.

Due to the conditions of his facility and the Baker Act, they emphasized that the blogger’s ‘communication has been extremely limited and confined to immediate family, medical providers, and others directly involved in his care.’

The Baker Act – officially the Florida Mental Health Act – allows medical and mental health professionals, as well as judges and law enforcement officers, to involuntarily commit individuals for up to 72 hours if they are believed to be at risk of harming themselves or others.

Hilton’s team emphasized that his ‘condition remains serious but stable,’ explaining that his ‘treatment and recovery’ would be a ‘long process.’

They also shared that he had been able to spend time with his mother and sister on Friday.

Hilton’s team confirmed that his ‘children remain safe and are being cared for by immediate family.’

Surveillance footage from a neighbor’s house captured the moment when law enforcement arrived at Hilton’s residence in Miami last Tuesday after fans reached out to 911 over concerns for his welfare.

Police cars could be seen pulling up to the home not long after 7pm on Tuesday evening.

Law enforcement was seen trying to coax Hilton out of his home in the video.

A deputy was heard calling out: ‘Mario, it’s the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office, please step out of the house.’

Clips taken from the footage appeared to show the media personality covered in blood while brandishing a knife.

The livestream video has since been taken down by TikTok, and his account has also been suspended.

The statement from Perez’s family continued: ‘Our family cannot express enough our continued gratitude for the overwhelming outpouring of love, support, and prayers we have received during this incredibly difficult time.

‘The events of the past several days have been nearly unbearable for our family.’

‘Our highest priority right now is helping the children begin to heal from what they experienced. An important part of that process is allowing them to safely return home and begin rebuilding a sense of security and normalcy.’

Hilton’s family also requested ‘privacy and space they need during this unimaginably difficult time’.

They added: ‘We will continue to provide updates on Perez’s condition through PerezHilton.com when we have additional information we are able to share. Again, thank you for your compassion, understanding, and continued prayers.’

Hilton had been hospitalized earlier this year in March and had shared pictures of himself on the ward while recovering from sepsis.

He had developed an ulcer after taking flu medication on an empty stomach, which then led to a 21-day hospitalization.

And just weeks later, the blogger faced another health crisis after experiencing ‘soreness and pain in one of my legs.’

Following an ultrasound, it was revealed that Hilton had a deep vein thrombosis.

‘I am so thankful to God that we caught this early because if that blood clot had gone to my lungs or my heart, it could have been real bad,’ he said on Instagram at the time.

He soon gave another update on social media to share that he was able to ‘finally walk again’ as he used the help of a walker.

Months before the distressing TikTok livestream, Hilton reflected on his health scares.

During an appearance on Fox News Media’s Hang Out with Sean Hannity podcast, which had been recorded on July 14, he said: ‘I was in the hospital for 21 days, so I thought I was gonna die.

‘Especially because the first few days they couldn’t find where the perforation was and then I had all of these other issues. My body just started breaking down.’

He further explained: ‘I had fluid in my lungs. I went AFib. My heart issues. Everything that could go wrong, went wrong.

‘I’m 48 and I’ve never taken any kind of flu medication with food. And some medication, you don’t need to take with food. The flu medication you’re supposed to take with food.’

Hilton stated that he took both ‘Aleve and Tylenol’ on an empty stomach.

‘I know, I did that for a week, and I developed an ulcer and a perforation and here we are.’

Hilton notably launched his celebrity gossip blog back in 2004, which was originally called PageSixSixSix.com. Shortly after, he changed the name to PerezHilton.com.

He has also befriended a number of Hollywood celebrities.

Back in 2021, Hilton admitted that he ‘regrets’ the way he covered Britney Spears’s breakdown in 2007.

He had garnered criticism for ‘bullying’ the Baby One More Time hitmaker after he previously called her an ‘unfit mother.’

He also released a shirt design on his website in 2008, which questioned why the pop star didn’t die instead of Heath Ledger.

The shirt had an image of the actor from his role in Brokeback Mountain as well as the words: ‘Why couldn’t it be Britney?’

‘I regret a lot or most of what I said about Britney as I’m sure Piers [Morgan] would if he were here about things he’s said in the past,’ Hilton said during an interview on the TV show Good Morning Britain.

The media personality added that he has grown over the years and expressed: ‘Thankfully, hopefully, many of us get older and wiser.’

Why Australia’s Official Interest Rate Sets It Apart Globally

0

The Reserve Bank of Australia (RBA) made headlines on Tuesday by maintaining the national cash rate at 4.35%. This decision means Australia’s rate remains steep when lined up against several other global economies.

What sets Australia apart is the sticky nature of its inflation, which has prompted the central bank to tread carefully rather than rushing to lower rates.

In its recent monetary policy statement, the RBA elucidated how ongoing global volatility and stubborn inflation throughout 2026 influenced its well-anticipated verdict.

The board’s statement, accompanying the decision to keep the current cash rate, clearly articulated its primary concern: “The board remains focused on ensuring that high inflation does not become embedded.”

Despite the Middle East crisis having a less severe impact on inflation than predicted, the central bank acknowledged, “headline inflation is still too high.”

It said trimmed mean inflation — which strips out volatile items — also remained elevated and was “little changed form the March quarter”.

A graph showing how Australia's cash rate has changed since 2022, ending in August 2026 at 4.35 per cent.

The latest inflation data showed signs of cooling but it is still running about the RBA’s 2-3 per cent target band, and the ongoing global uncertainty is likely to give the central bank “reason to pause”, according to AMP chief economist Shane Oliver.

Oliver described interest rates as a “blunt instrument” for central banks around the world to reduce households’ spending on discretionary items and tackle inflation.

So how do Australia’s interest rates compare globally?

How Australia compares globally

Oliver explained that, historically, levers reserve banks can pull have been the best way to tackle inflation.

Relying on governments alone to help doesn’t work as well, he said, because governments can be incentivised to spend more to win votes, even when inflation is high.

A table comparing Australia to other countries

Cash rate targets differ around the world but share the unifying goal of keeping inflation down and promoting a high-employment economy.

Australia’s cash rate target of 4.35 per cent is higher than those of other countries, such as the United States at 3.5-3.75 per cent, the UK at 3.75 per cent, and Canada at 2.25 per cent.

Australia also has higher core inflation, a measure stripping out economic volatility, than these other economies.

Professor and economist Warwick McKibbin from the Australian National University said that trends such as oil supply shocks can impact inflation globally.

Domestic factors, such as economic structure and openness to trade, can also play a part.

Different countries also have different goals for inflation, he said.

“The US has an inflation target of 2 per cent, that’s the Federal Reserve’s goal,” McKibbin said.

“And so, historically, inflation generally doesn’t rise significantly above that, although it actually has since COVID-19.”

A graph showing Australia's consumer price index and trimmed mean inflation.

Meanwhile, Australia’s inflation target is between 2 and 3 per cent, which can also lead to marginally higher inflation.

“What drives actual inflation is both expectations of inflation as well as what’s happening in the economy,” McKibbin said.

“So you’d expect our inflation rate’s probably going to have a higher number than the US because our expectations will be leveraged somewhere between two and three, and that matters as well.”

Aside from its inflation target, the RBA’s other mandate is to support full employment, meaning as many Australians as possible in work without creating excessive inflation.

While Australia has higher inflation and a higher cash rate target than some other countries, it also has a healthy unemployment rate of 4.4 per cent, lower than the UK, Canada and New Zealand.

What’s ahead?

Oliver said that the Australian economy has become more inflation-prone than that of some other countries over the last two years.

“And that is a concern, and something that the Reserve Bank has to be aware of and a reason why they need to be more cautious,” he said.

“The RBA will likely retain a tightening bias as it does whatever is necessary to bring inflation down to target.”

Australia’s ‘big four’ banks — the Commonwealth Bank, NAB, Westpac and ANZ — don’t expect any further movement this year.

But they all anticipate a cut in 2027.

  • ANZ expects a 0.25 percentage point cut in September and December, lowering the cash rate to 3.85 per cent by the end of 2027
  • Commonwealth expects cuts in May and August, bringing the rate to 3.85 per cent by the third quarter
  • NAB forecasts three cuts — in June, September and December — taking the cash rate to 3.60 per cent
  • Westpac expects cuts in August and December, taking the rate to 3.85 per cent

But Oliver said the RBA wouldn’t hesitate to lift rates in 2026 if needed.

$9 Million Yacht’s Heartbreaking Sinking Captured Days After Lavish Delivery

A stunning $9.1 million superyacht met a tragic fate in the crystal-clear waters of the Mediterranean Sea earlier this week, just shortly after being handed over to its proud new owner.

Named the Angiola II, this opulent vessel was cruising off the idyllic coast of Porto Cervo on Sardinia, a favorite Italian island, with 14 passengers aboard. Engine malfunctions led to a fire outbreak, as detailed by a report from the New York Post reported.

As the fire raged, it compromised the yacht’s seals, allowing water to flood in and causing the yacht to keel over. Fortunately, all guests onboard managed to evacuate and were safely rescued by other vessels in the vicinity, according to The Telegraph.

Footage from the incident captures the unfortunate scene of the luxury yacht listing heavily to one side.

The unidentified owner — an Italian businessman — was the last one off the ship, the newspaper reported.

The yacht reportedly sank at a depth of around 23 feet between an island called L’Isola dei Cappuccini and Capo Ferro, on Sardinia’s exclusive Costa Smeralda, or Emerald Coast, the news report states.

The boat will be kept under surveillance until a recovery company recovers it from the sea floor.

The yacht can reportedly accommodate 10 guests and is fitted with five cabins and five crew members.

It has four engines and can reach speeds of 28 knots.

Fernando Mendoza Resolute in Avoiding the Allure of Las Vegas Strip

0

Las Vegas is renowned for its vibrant atmosphere and endless entertainment options, yet the city’s newest football sensation, Fernando Mendoza, seems unfazed by its most iconic feature.

Ever since becoming the top pick for the Raiders, Mendoza has familiarized himself with the city. However, in a candid chat with The Athletic, he revealed a surprising stance. Despite having visited the famed Strip a handful of times since his recent move, the quarterback expressed an unwavering disinterest in making it a frequent destination.

“It’s like a boogeyman,” Mendoza explained, drawing a colorful analogy. “People talk about the Strip like it’s something to avoid.”

He continued with a vivid metaphor, “It’s like when you’re a kid, trick-or-treating and there’s that one house on the block that looks haunted. You just don’t want to go near it.”

Mendoza’s reluctance toward the Strip should raise few eyebrows, given his focused demeanor and grounded personality.

Much like Kirk Cousins — the signal caller currently sitting ahead of him on the Raiders’ depth chart — Mendoza has developed quite the reputation for being a goody two-shoes.

And even though he’s now a professional making NFL money in Sin City, the 22-year-old former Indiana star made it clear he’s not changing his stripes anytime soon.

“Las Vegas is one of the entertainment capitals of the world,” he said. “But I have a job to do, and it’s football. I don’t have anybody that really relies on me, if that makes sense, so I can just be psycho about football.

“And then every once in a while, on an off day or night, I can go out to a movie and watch ‘Spiderman’ or ‘The Odyssey’ or something.

“In Vegas, there is a lot to do, and sometimes it can be seen as activities that wouldn’t be supporting a healthy football lifestyle. But there are different things that you can go see and do that aren’t degenerative activities, per se. There are some great restaurants. But I’m probably not going to be playing blackjack till late at night.”

Raiders fans will get their first look at the squeaky-clean Mendoza in game action later Thursday, when he’s expected to play a few series in Las Vegas’ home tilt with the Cardinals at 5 p.m. PT.

Regain Your Energy: 5 Exercises That Boost Stamina Better Than Cardio for 60+

0

Out of breath by 60? Discover a seasoned trainer’s quick five-move routine that rapidly restores stamina.

>

One of the most frequent concerns I hear from my clients over 60 is their waning stamina. With nearly four decades as a personal trainer and a quarter-century leading TRAINFITNESS, the UK’s premier fitness education organization, I’ve observed a recurring trend: traditional cardio falls short for many in this age bracket due to three key issues. Instead, I’ve developed a five-exercise daily circuit that revitalizes endurance more effectively than any treadmill session.

Why Stamina Disappears After 60

What I often refer to as the “collapse point” is a prevalent scenario where energy drains unexpectedly during everyday tasks. Whether it’s halfway up a steep path, midway through a gardening session, or when hefting bags from the car, this abrupt energy dip appears without notice. The fuel tank might have seemed full just an hour before, yet it’s suddenly running on empty.

The culprits behind this energy decline are varied. With age, muscles dwindle, cardio-respiratory capabilities wane, and our bodies’ energy-producing mechanisms begin to lag. Mitochondria, those minute powerhouses in cells, become less numerous and less efficient at energy production compared to their younger counterparts.

The other pattern is that people spend so much time not doing anything demanding that when they try, their bodies simply don’t remember how. Stamina is a use-it-or-lose-it system, and by 60 most people have lost most of it because they haven’t asked for it in years.

The other issue is recovery. Older adults often have decent capacity for short bursts, but they can’t repeat those bursts because their recovery between them is too slow. Stamina in daily life is really the ability to keep going after the first big effort, not just the size of that effort.

4 Morning Exercises That Rebuild Lower Back Strength Faster Than Gym Sessions After 60

Why Daily Beats Traditional Cardio

Traditional cardio, meaning steady-state jogging or cycling for 40 to 60 minutes, was designed for people who could handle it. Over 60, three problems get in the way. First, the joints don’t tolerate the repetitive impact. Second, the boredom kills adherence, and stamina only builds through repetition. Third, and most importantly, it doesn’t build muscle, which is where the mitochondrial machinery for stamina actually lives.

The five exercises below combine strength patterns and cardio in the same movements. Each one raises the heart rate while working the muscles that fatigue in daily life. That double duty is what produces stamina change faster than either strength or cardio alone.

There’s also the daily framing. Cardio is often thought of as something you do three times a week for a longer session. Daily short sessions of the right kind of work produce more stamina, because they train the recovery system as well as the effort system. And they fit into a life without needing anywhere to go or anything to wear.

Sit-to-Stand for Time

Combines leg strength with heart rate elevation in a single, safe exercise. Standing up from a chair repeatedly for time gets the heart rate up quickly, works the biggest muscles in the body, and rehearses the daily movement pattern that matters most for independence.

How to Do It:

  • Sit on a sturdy chair, feet flat on the floor, hip-width apart
  • Fold your arms across your chest
  • Stand up all the way, then sit back down under control
  • Continue for 60 seconds, aiming for as many reps as possible with good form
  • Rest 30 seconds

Avoid These Mistakes:

  • Don’t bounce off the seat. Sit down under control instead of crashing into the chair, and slow your descent if you’re rushing it. The heart rate stays up either way, and you’ll get much more out of the muscle work.

5 Home Arm Exercises That Tighten Sagging Arms in 30 Days After 55

Stair Step-Ups

Uses the bottom step of your staircase as a portable cardio-strength tool. Step-ups load one leg at a time, get your heart rate up, and rehearse the pattern of climbing stairs, which is one of the biggest markers of stamina in daily life.

How to Do It:

  • Use the bottom step of your staircase, or a sturdy 4 to 6-inch step
  • Hold the banister for balance if needed
  • Step up with your right foot, bringing your left foot up to meet it
  • Step down with your right foot, then your left
  • After 30 seconds, switch to leading with your left foot for 30 seconds
  • Continue alternating for 2 to 3 minutes

Avoid These Mistakes:

  • Don’t push off your back foot. Use the working leg on the step to lift your body. If the back foot is doing the work, you’re training the wrong muscles.

Wall Push-Up for Reps

Trains the upper body under enough load to build stamina in the pushing muscles without exhausting the shoulders. Upper-body endurance is often the missing piece for tasks like carrying groceries or hanging laundry on a line.

How to Do It:

  • Stand facing a wall, arms extended, palms on the wall at shoulder height
  • Walk your feet back so your body is at a comfortable angle, straight from heels to head
  • Bend your elbows and lower your chest toward the wall
  • Push back to the start
  • Aim for as many reps as you can in 45 seconds, with good form

Avoid These Mistakes:

  • Don’t let your hips sag as fatigue sets in. When your form breaks down, stop, rest for 20 seconds, and finish the time. Sloppy reps train sloppy movement.

4 Chair Exercises That Restore Knee Strength Faster Than Leg Machines After 60

Standing March with Punches

Elevates the heart rate through arm and leg movement at the same time, which is what actually challenges the cardiovascular system. Ordinary marching without the arms rarely gets the heart rate high enough to build stamina at this age.

How to Do It:

  • Stand tall with feet hip-width apart
  • Lift one knee to hip height while punching the opposite arm out in front
  • Lower and repeat on the other side
  • Keep your trunk tall and your punches controlled
  • Continue at a brisk pace for 90 seconds

Avoid These Mistakes:

  • Don’t slow down as your heart rate rises. Sustain the pace even when it feels harder. If it’s too much, keep your arms moving and reduce the knee lift, but don’t stop moving.

Surrogate Mother Defies Abortion Demand: Parents Gain Custody of Newborn

0

In Texas, a newborn who came into the world via surrogate is now living with his biological parents. This follows a tense situation where the couple initially pushed for the unborn child to be aborted due to a concerning heart defect, as recently reported.

The child’s biological parents, Nausheen Gilkar, 43, and Omar Ahmed, 45, have taken physical custody of their baby after surrogate McKenna West delivered him on Wednesday morning. A lawyer representing the family shared these details with TMZ.

According to Lee Bunder, from the Dallas-based family law office Calabrese Bunder, the baby, whom West christened as ‘Baby Gabriel,’ is under medical care while staying with his parents.

Bunder noted that Gilkar and Ahmed are prioritizing their son’s health, closely following the guidance of health professionals regarding treatment options for his severe condition known as hypoplastic left heart syndrome.

The diagnosis was made when West was 20 weeks pregnant, revealing that the left side of his heart is underdeveloped, making it unable to effectively circulate blood throughout his body.

After the diagnosis, the California couple told West she must get an abortion, but the surrogate refused and relocated to Texas after finding a hospital in Dallas that has a high success rate for babies with the defect.

The story quickly caught the country’s attention, and just one day before his birth, West was granted clearance to get life-saving care for the baby in Texas, but she was forbidden to have contact with the child after his birth, a judge ruled.

On Wednesday, the baby was born and received life-saving surgery right away, West’s attorney, Lincoln Wilson, told The Dallas Morning News.

The surrogate baby McKenna West (pictured) gave birth to on Wednesday is now in custody of his biological parents, a new report stated

The case has caused quite a stir across the country, and up until today, there has been no comment from Gilkar and Ahmed.

According to their attorney, the couple is ‘devastated’ over the attention to it.

‘As if the heartbreak of his condition were not enough, they are devastated to see their family tragedy transformed into political theater by the Texas Attorney General’s office and McKenna West,’ Bunder said.

The child’s biological parents first mentioned that West should get an abortion after learning of the defect.

West, 28, signed a contract with the couple that included a clause that would require her to abort the baby in the event of an ‘anomaly.’

The nurse and mother-of-two from Alaska expressed concern over the clause to the Connecticut-based Worldwide Surrogacy Specialist, but the agency told her a situation like that is rare.

She went on to ask the agency if she could help financially assist the couple regarding care for their child so they wouldn’t abort him, and told his parents she’s heard of people surviving with the condition.

Despite her best efforts, Ahmed told West he and his wife had already removed the baby’s 12-week ultrasound from their fridge at home and told her she could mail the 20-week images – but to address the envelope only to him.

The story quickly caught the country's attention, and just one day before his birth, West was granted clearance to get life-saving care for the baby, but a judge also ruled that she cannot have contact with the baby after his birth

The story quickly caught the country’s attention, and just one day before his birth, West was granted clearance to get life-saving care for the baby, but a judge also ruled that she cannot have contact with the baby after his birth

But that’s when West discovered a hospital in Texas that had a 100 percent success rate in recent years with the first of three surgeries an affected baby would need right after birth.

She then told the surrogacy agency that she would live with a friend in Texas to mitigate the costs for the couple, but a liaison for the agency said the biological parents were still concerned about the baby’s future quality of life.

Meanwhile, West, who would have been 24-weeks pregnant at the time of the abortion, was appalled at the idea that doctors would inject the baby with ‘a solution that will stop his heart and then he’ll be literally ripped apart and dismembered as he’s taken from [her] uterus,’ Live Action previously reported.

West was soon put in touch with Live Action founder and president Lila Rose, who assured the surrogate that she would help her and her children get to Texas to meet with doctors about saving the baby’s life.

The biological parents went on to file a $250,000 lawsuit demanding that West return the money they had paid her as well as any additional charges.

They also demanded she come to them in California to give birth, but it was unclear whether they would allow doctors to perform the life-saving surgery or if they would only provide him with ‘comfort care’.

Through her attorneys, West agreed to go to California if the parents commit to providing the baby with surgery.

But West has also filed a lawsuit in the Superior Court of Alaska seeking sole custody of the baby so she can allow doctors in Texas to treat hi

Trump Addresses Incident Involving Armed Man Arrested at His Golf Course

Donald Trump remained defiant after a 'heavily armed' man was arrested while wandering around his California golf course just days before he was set to host a fundraiser there. Jeanine John Taele, 38, was detained Sunday by Los Angeles County sheriff's deputies shortly after he was seen taking pictures and observing security activities around the course, the LA Times reported. When asked about the threat, Trump simply said it means he is a consequential President. 'The only thing I get a little solace from is they say only consequential presidents, and I am definitely consequential,' he told Fox News, referring to a hypothetical attempt to assassinate him, before going on to discuss his many accomplishments in office. Trump made a similar point after a gunman was apprehended at the White House Correspondents' Dinner. Trump on Tuesday headlined a Republican National Committee fundraising dinner at a golf club his family owns in the Los Angeles suburb of Rancho Palos Verdes.

In a show of defiance, Donald Trump shrugged off concerns following the arrest of a ‘heavily armed’ individual at his California golf course, just before he planned to host a significant fundraiser there. Jeanine John Taele, 38, caught the attention of Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputies and was detained on Sunday. The LA Times reported that Taele was seen taking photographs and scrutinizing security operations on the course. Trump, addressing the incident, downplayed the threat and remarked that such situations underscore his status as a consequential leader. “The only solace I find,” he told Fox News, “is that they say only consequential presidents face such risks, and I am indeed consequential,” he commented, drawing a parallel to a previous incident at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner involving a gunman. On Tuesday, Trump was the center of attention again, headlining a Republican National Committee fundraising event at a golf club owned by his family in Rancho Palos Verdes, a suburb of Los Angeles.

Man claims State Department role, admits gun in car

During a July 31 security assessment at the club ahead of Trump's visit, federal agents spotted a 'suspicious individual' they later identified as Teale, according to an affidavit. Agents said he was walking through the golf course while wearing an ear piece and taking pictures and videos of federal agents' attempts to plan out security, before leaving the area and driving away. On Sunday, just two days later, he was seen back at the club by golf course staff, who notified federal agents, still there performing a security assessment. Teale then approached the agents and claimed to be a State Department employee doing security detail on their behalf.

Just days before this gathering, a security check on July 31st turned eventful. Federal agents conducting a security review at the club reported a ‘suspicious individual,’ later confirmed to be Taele. This individual was noted for moving through the golf course, unusual behavior marked by wearing an earpiece and documenting the security maneuvers with pictures and videos. After briefly surveying the scene, he left but returned to the club two days later. At this point, vigilant golf course staff alerted federal agents who were still on-site, preparing for Trump’s visit. Approaching the agents, Taele claimed to serve as a State Department official, asserting he was there for security purposes.

Weapons and alarming notes uncovered

He eventually admitted to having a loaded firearm in his car in the parking lot. The federal agents then reached out to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, who then turned up at the club. Cops found a loaded magazine in Taele's pants pocket before searching his car in the parking lot and discovering a loaded pistol and further ammunition. On Monday, Taele's residence in Downey, California was searched and they found even more weapons and ammunition, including an illegally-modified AR-style rifle, .45 caliber pistol, body armor and high-capacity magazines. They also claimed to have found several notebooks that featured 'concerning statements,' as well as two radio devices.

Upon further interrogation, Taele admitted to having a loaded firearm tucked away in his car parked nearby. This prompted federal agents to involve the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. Officers responding to the scene found a loaded magazine in Taele’s pocket, leading to a search of his vehicle where they discovered a loaded pistol alongside additional ammunition. A subsequent search of Taele’s Downey, California residence on Monday revealed a trove of weaponry, including an illegally-altered AR-style rifle, a .45 caliber pistol, body armor, and high-capacity magazines. Authorities also unearthed notebooks adorned with ‘concerning statements’ and two radio devices, heightening suspicions.

Arrested with illegal ammo near golf course

Taele was arrested under suspicion of carrying a concealed firearm and possession of illegal ammunition, including hollow point bullets. 'While we are still investigating the motives of this individual, we are thankful he was apprehended before the President's visit,' said First Assistant United States Attorney Bill Essayli in a statement. 'Federal and local law enforcement stepped in early and prevented what could have been a dangerous situation from occurring. This investigation remains ongoing.'

Taele now faces charges for carrying a concealed firearm and possession of illegal ammunition, like hollow point bullets. “While the motives of this individual remain under investigation, we are grateful he was apprehended well before the President’s arrival,” remarked First Assistant United States Attorney Bill Essayli in a formal statement. He emphasized that the swift intervention of federal and local law enforcement effectively averted what could have been a perilous situation. As the investigation continues, vigilance remains the priority.

Teale faces multiple charges after arrest

According to law enforcement sources, relayed by The New York Post, Taele—who has identified himself as a Marine Corps veteran—was a familiar sight around the golf course in the last two months. However, it is uncertain if he was aware of Trump’s forthcoming visit. While the investigation proceeds, authorities assure that there is ‘no credible threat to our communities.’ Currently, Taele also faces related criminal charges in Los Angeles Superior Court. If found guilty, he could serve a maximum sentence of 10 years in federal prison. Additionally, Taele is being investigated for a potential connection to a robbery incident in nearby El Segundo.

Trump campaigns amid security threats

Trump is making a rare visit to California and Nevada this week to try to draw contrasts with Democrats on the economy, border security and crime, seeking to shore up support for Republicans in November elections that will determine whether his party keeps control of Congress. Trump has faced multiple assassination attempts in recent years, most notably when he was shot at during a rally in Pennsylvania on the campaign trail in 2024. A jury in 2025 found a man guilty of trying to assassinate Trump at the president´s Florida country club. Most recently, an armed man tried to break into the White House Correspondents’ Dinner while Trump was inside.

Trump and Newsom spar over wages

As Trump flies to California, he´ll likely throw barbs at the governor, eyed as a likely candidate for the next Democratic presidential nomination. White House spokesperson Olivia Wales said the president plans to ‘draw a sharp contrast between his commonsense agenda and the radical policies of Democrats like Gavin Newsom.’ Trump routinely mocks Newsom using a derogatory nickname. Newsom taunts the president in turn. The Democrat wrote on social media on Monday that California is raising its minimum wage next year to $17.40 an hour, more than double the federal minimum. ‘Donald Trump and the GOP are still defending a $7.25 minimum wage while workers scrape by. Pitiful,’ Newsom wrote.

In a poignant moment during Wednesday’s court proceedings, Lindsay Clancy was visibly overcome with emotion as she listened to testimony from a medical examiner regarding the autopsy of her young daughter.

Dr. Barbara Olson, the medical examiner, had just taken the witness stand to detail the findings of Cora Clancy’s autopsy when Lindsay Clancy, the grieving mother, could no longer hold back her tears and began to sob uncontrollably.

In the midst of her breakdown, Clancy exclaimed, “I can’t do this.”

Currently, Lindsay Clancy is facing serious charges, including first-degree murder, after being accused in the tragic deaths of her three children: 5-year-old Cora, 3-year-old Dawson, and 8-month-old Callan.

Clancy, 32, took the lives of her three children before attempting suicide on Jan. 24, 2023.

If you or someone you know is having thoughts of suicide, please contact the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 1-800-273-TALK (8255).

Clancy does not dispute that she killed her children. Instead, her defense contends she was suffering from severe postpartum depression brought on by being overmedicated on prescriptions.

According to evidence and testimony presented in court, five doctors prescribed Clancy with the following medication before she killed her three kids:

  • Zoloft
  • Valium
  • Trazodone
  • Prozac
  • Lamictal
  • Seroquel
  • Remeron
  • Klonopin
  • Buspirone
  • Ativan
  • Amitriptyline
  • Ambien

Following Clancy’s breakdown, Judge William Sullivan ordered a recess and excused the jury from the courtroom.

Two women could be seen appearing to console Clancy while she was crying inside the courtroom.

Josh Kushner’s Heat Shares Could Accelerate Lakers Sale Process

0

Just over a day has passed since the iconic Los Angeles Lakers were acquired by former Walt Disney CEO Bob Iger and entrepreneur Josh Kushner. However, a new development could delay the completion of the sale.

According to ESPN’s basketball insider Brian Windhorst, Josh Kushner must divest his minority stake in the Miami Heat to officially take ownership of the Lakers. This requirement could significantly slow down the transaction process.

“The Heat don’t often engage in selling shares,” Windhorst shared on Thursday during an episode of The Hoop Collective podcast.

“Owning this team is a tightly held privilege, which might mean the divestment could take some time,” he added.

In late 2024, Kushner acquired a 5% interest in the Miami Heat following the sale of his minority ownership in the Memphis Grizzlies, which he had held since 2019.

As Windhorst mentioned, the Heat don’t sell pieces of the team too often, and it remains undisclosed who he bought his stake in the team from. But it is believed not to be majority owner Micky Arison, who has controlled the franchise since 1995.

Iger and Kushner’s purchase of the Lakers on Wednesday morning came at a record-breaking $12.5 billion sale from Mark Walter, who also owns the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Walter previously owned the team for 14 months, after purchasing a majority of the shares from Jeanie Buss, who will remain the team’s governor for five years following the sale.

It took four months for Walter’s purchase of the Lakers to become official, when he was introduced as team’s new owner last October.

With this potential hiccup slowing down the sale, we may be looking well into the winter before an official announcement is concluded.
