Coi Leray Announces Pregnancy: Expecting First Child with Boyfriend Trippie Redd

Coi Leray has lit up the New Year with an exciting revelation: she is expecting her first child.

The 27-year-old star, celebrated for her track “Players” and known for her stunning Catwoman ensemble last Halloween, will be welcoming a baby with fellow rapper Trippie Redd, who is 25.

Leray took to Instagram, where she boasts 7.6 million followers, to share her news. On January 1, she posted, “I’m a rock star mommy. we ready for 2025,” signaling her enthusiasm for the journey ahead.

Her announcement was accompanied by a carousel of photos, showcasing two intimate shots with her boyfriend. The couple rekindled their romance in August 2024, after having a previous romantic stint back in 2019.

The two had previously briefly dated in 2019.

In a pair of outtakes, Coi wore a pair of baggy Chrome Hearts jeans with the brand’s cross logo embroidered in black.

She added a lacy black and beige bra top while showing off her growing belly.

The star’s long, jet black hair was styled in a side part as it tumbled over her chest.

Trippie, real name Michael Lamar White IV, looked excited as he cozied up to his girlfriend in an all-black outfit.

His shoulder-length, locked, bright red hair spilled around his face as he cradled his lady’s bump.

Coi, who in the past has been teased over her tiny frame. also shared a POV picture of her bump via Instagram Stories, writing, ‘I’m over 4 months. I’m just small as hell of course.’

This will be each of the performer’s first child, despite White previously announcing that he had fathered a son in late 2023.

After taking two paternity tests, he later learned that the child was not his, according to a report from TMZ.

The news was accompanied by a carousel of images, including two loved-up snapshots with her boyfriend, who she rekindled with in August 2024

Over a year ago the rap artist announced online that he had become a father, naming the child Saint Michael White.

Additionally, he released an EP named after the baby.

He even went as far as cancelling a tour in order to spend time with the newborn.

But by April 2024, Trippie unveiled the truth of the matter during a conversation with fellow hip-hop star DDG, who had recently welcomed a child with his now-ex, singer Halle Bailey.

Redd revealed that he took the DNA test at the urging of his mother, who had a hunch that something wasn’t right.

Alex Murdaugh Lawyers Claim ‘Fabricated Evidence’ Led to Wrongful Murder Indictments

0

Lawyers representing Alex Murdaugh are leveling serious accusations against the lead investigator in his murder trial, claiming he misled the grand jury with false evidence. In light of these claims, they’re urging a judge to throw out the charges.

On August 7, Murdaugh’s legal team filed a motion to dismiss, alleging misconduct by David Owen, the principal agent from the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division who handled the case. They claim Owen’s testimony to the grand jury was both inaccurate and misleading, describing his actions as a clear case of prosecutorial misconduct.

The attorneys for Murdaugh have indicated that more details on the alleged misconduct will be provided in upcoming legal filings.

“This motion is based on evidence that the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division’s lead agent in this case, David Owen, presented false physical evidence claiming to directly incriminate the Defendant before the Colleton County Grand Jury. Owen conceded this evidence was fabricated, a fact that the Defendant has since proven,” according to the statement by Murdaugh’s legal team.

Alex Murdaugh reacts as he addresses the court during his sentencing for stealing from 18 clients, Tuesday, Nov. 28, 2023, at the Beaufort County Courthouse in Beaufort, S.C. The push for a new murder trial of disbarred attorney Alex Murdaugh faces a steep uphill battle after a state judge limited witness questioning and set a high burden of proof surrounding bombshell claims that the court clerk tampered with the jury during last year's hotly-watched proceedings.

His attorneys also filed a motion to transfer the venue of Murdaugh’s new murder trial to Charleston County, arguing that an impartial jury cannot be found in Colleton County, stating, “this prosecution has generated publicity without precedent in the history of this State.”

Rather, they argued that a change to nearby Charleston County would “preserve the values of a local trial while curing the local prejudice.”

The motions come ahead of a pretrial hearing scheduled for Friday.

Murdaugh, formerly a prominent Lowcountry attorney from an influential legal dynasty, was convicted in March 2023 of fatally shooting his wife and son, Maggie and Paul.

The murder case descended into chaos when allegations that court clerk Rebecca Hill made inappropriate comments to jurors while the trial was ongoing.

While prosecutors believe Murdaugh got a fair trial, the South Carolina Supreme Court reversed the convictions and ordered a new trial.

Heroic Paddleboarder Battles ‘Missile-Like’ Alligator in Florida: A Harrowing Fight for Survival

A courageous paddleboarder has recounted his intense encounter as he valiantly battled to protect a swimmer from an alligator’s fierce attack on a Florida river.

Mike Head was enjoying a day on the water with his family when he noticed the reptile charging toward a woman like a torpedo in the Silver River, located in Marion County, as he detailed to Fox 35.

When he arrived at the scene, the alligator had already clamped its jaws around the woman’s arm, prompting him to use his paddle in an attempt to fend off the creature, he explained.

Mike Head used his paddle to fight off an alligator as it attacked a swimmer in the Silver River in Marion County, Florida, on Saturday. Head was out on the water with his wife and kids when he spotted the reptile heading toward the victim. Fox 35

“I couldn’t swing because I risked hitting her head from where I was positioned, so I maneuvered to the other side,” Head recounted.

“Once in place, I swung, unsure if I made contact with the gator or not. I just know that it vanished immediately after,” he added.

The woman was then pulled to the shore with the help of another boater and Head said that when he tied her bleeding wound off with a rope, she turned to him and said “Tie it tight”.

Relatives told Fox 35 the victim is back at home recovering and in good spirits despite having her right arm amputated.

Disturbing Revelations in 7-Year-Old Boy’s Tragic Death

0

In a grim case that has shocked the community, a young boy allegedly tortured by his mother and her two transgender partners succumbed to blunt force trauma to the head. Authorities have not discounted the possibility of sexual assault.

During a press conference held on Tuesday in Cincinnati, unsettling details about the tragic demise of William Michael Evans-Ellis were revealed by coroner Dr. Lakshmi Sammarco.

William was discovered lifeless at his residence in Cincinnati last week. His mother, Kaitlin Evans, 38, along with her transgender partners, Nessa Keaney and Kirby Rankin, both aged 23, now face murder charges.

Dr. Sammarco, the coroner for Hamilton County, emphasized that due to the sensitive nature of the investigation, they are unable to dismiss the possibility that William may have been sexually assaulted before his death.

Authorities claim the young boy was subjected to torture inside a home in Oakley, where he was found deceased on Thursday, stirring distress and outrage within the community.

The trio were co-parenting the youth prosecutors said in court last week after they were arraigned over the death of William.

Hamilton County court records seen by the Daily Mail indicate that both Keaney and Rankin are biological males. Evans is the boy’s biological mother.

According to WLWT, prosecutors said in court that there was evidence to show that William was being abused for over two months by the trio.

Hamilton County court records seen by the Daily Mail indicate that both Keaney, right, and Rankin, left, are biological males

After police entered the property, prosecutors said they found him in a closet where he had been bound and duct-taped.

It was claimed that despite neglecting and torturing the boy, they managed to take a dog of theirs to a vet to be vaccinated the day before his death.

Investigators said the boy suffered visible injuries which included ‘indicated physical beatings’ over his body.

He also suffered impact injuries to the back of his head and had been water tortured for a period of time and was badly burned, investigators said.

An attorney for Evans claimed that she did not cause the death of her son, saying that one of the others caused his death but did not name either Rankin or Keaney.

Her attorney did say in court that she had failed to save her son, and pleaded with the judge for a $250,000 bond.

Prosecutors asked for a $1 million bond on the murder charge and a further $500,000 on a child endangerment charge. The judge sided with the prosecution.

The boy’s other biological parent, who was not identified, was given the chance to address her in court, telling her: ‘I trusted you.’

According to Fox56, they also said that William had been kept away from them ‘over lies’.

A lawyer for Keaney said she had failed to ‘administer treatment’ for the boy’s injuries which were allegedly ’caused by somebody else.’

Her attorney requested a $200,000 bond, prosecutors pushed back saying that Keaney failed to inform the authorities of the abuse. Her bond was set at $1 million.

Attorneys for Rankin requested an evaluation, saying she suffered from ‘documented serious mental health issues’.

The judge agreed, with Rankin to be back in court for the results at the beginning of next month.

A detective who was part of the investigation said that Rankin disclosed her own involvement in the abuse and implicated the two others as being involved.

Her bond was set at $1 million on the murder charge, with another $100,000 secured for the child endangerment charge.

A detective said the case was ‘one of the most disturbing examples of child abuse’ that he had ever seen in his two decades of work.

The trio are next back in court on August 17. All of them are on suicide watch inside Hamilton County Jail, Fox19 reported.

In Ohio, the mother of a 7-year-old boy and two co-parents face murder charges following a family investigation by the child’s grandparents, who suspected abuse. This tragic case has captured national attention, highlighting the ongoing issue of child welfare.

According to Cincinnati police, Kaitlin Evans, 38, along with her co-parents Kirby Rankin, 33, and Nessa Keaney, 23, have all entered pleas of not guilty concerning the death of young William Evans. This development has sparked community outrage and calls for justice.

Discrepancies have emerged in how authorities document Kirby Rankin’s gender; while the Hamilton County jail and Municipal Court refer to Rankin as male, Cincinnati police records list Rankin as female.

Police records and 911 dispatch details reveal a disturbing sequence leading from a call to the Mercy Rookwood emergency room to a Cincinnati apartment. It was there that officers discovered William bound and unresponsive in a closet, a heartbreaking scene that underscored the severity of the charges.

The sequence began when a charge nurse called 911 to report that a barefoot woman had entered the emergency department, dropped to the floor and said someone was trying to kill her and had taken her son.

The nurse told the dispatcher the woman claimed her son was being held in the attic of a nearby apartment.

FOX19 NOW reported that the woman identified herself as William’s mother and named Rankin as the partner she accused of trying to kill her and taking the boy.

Police were sent to the hospital and the apartment for a welfare check, according to radio traffic and computer-aided dispatch records. An officer reported that a juvenile boy was in a closet and “not moving.”

A dispatch entry also stated that a child was “found tied up in closet.” Dispatchers then asked fire personnel to expedite their response, records show.

Cincinnati police said officers found William unresponsive inside the residence and that Cincinnati Fire Department personnel determined he was dead.

FOX19 NOW reported that Cincinnati homicide Detective Kyle Smith testified in court on Friday that William had been severely beaten over the previous two months, calling the case “probably one of the most disturbing cases of child abuse” he had encountered during decades in law enforcement.

Smith told the judge investigators believe William was held underwater for a prolonged period. He also said Rankin disclosed her involvement in what he described as a prolonged child-abuse incident and implicated Evans and Keaney as active participants.

Rankin’s attorney sought a competency evaluation, citing what the attorney described as serious mental health issues.

William’s grandparents, Mike Evans and Tina Evans, told WLWT they feared their grandson’s home had become a “house of horrors.”

The grandparents said William, who regularly spent Fridays and many Saturdays with them, told them about six weeks before his death that he did not want to return home.

They said Kaitlin later restricted their contact with William. Mike and Tina said they saw him once during the final six weeks of his life and noticed a bruise on his shoulder. That visit, nearly four weeks before William’s death, was the last time they saw him.

Mike and Tina said they met with an attorney alongside William’s other grandparents and hired a private investigator to monitor Kaitlin and William. Mike said relatives feared both William and Kaitlin were being abused.

He said he rented a car Thursday intending to watch the home but arrived to find police vehicles outside. A detective then told Mike that William had died and Kaitlin was being questioned downtown.

The Cincinnati Police Department’s Homicide Unit is investigating.

Ex-College Golfer Quits in Shame as Shocking Cheating Scandal Video Goes Viral

Zach Holland, an amateur golfer boasting a 2-handicap and a former player at William Carey University, has resigned from his seat at WingHaven Country Club. This decision follows the revelation of security footage capturing him fabricating a hole-in-one during an exclusive members-only event at the O’Fallon, Missouri course.

Speaking candidly in a Friday interview with “The Morning After” show on 101 ESPN St. Louis, Holland acknowledged his misconduct to club authorities. He also shared the unfortunate backlash his wife and two young children experienced after the incident came to light.

“When you engage in something as foolish as I did, consequences are inevitable,” Holland remarked, reflecting on his actions.

Holland confessed to placing his golf ball in the hole on the par-3 fourth hole even before the event had commenced, an event that featured a prize for a hole-in-one. He then misled his fellow players with his false claim.

“What I did was inexcusable,” Holland admitted, expressing deep regret. “There wasn’t any rationale behind it—just pure foolishness. Even though we were giving two shots back to the field, it’s not a justification. There’s no excuse for my actions.”

After completing the first three holes with his group, Holland told his playing partners he needed to take a personal phone call, allegedly regarding his ill grandmother — and that he would tee off on the fourth hole ahead of them and meet them later on the green.

Holland eventually returned to the group and explained that he “thinned” his tee shot, but wasn’t sure where the ball landed.

That’s when his group found the ball in the cup and celebrated what they believed was a hole-in-one by Holland.

Security footage reviewed by WingHaven staff showed Holland driving near the fourth green before his scheduled tee time, resulting in him confessing to the fake hole-in-one and resigning from the club.

“I made a bad decision, and I have to suffer the consequences,” Holland said. I’m trying to move forward as best I can and it’s been rough.”

He added that he’s worried about his family, who’ve been collateral damage due to backlash from his actions.

“I made a terrible mistake,” Holland said. “The lack of moral character — I can take the banter and the chatter and the heat because I deserve that from a golf perspective.

“What I am most worried about is my family. … It’s not fair to them for me to put them in that situation where when they walk through a room, there is a stigma there that your dad is a [cheater]. So questions that they may get asked or be getting asked down the road, that’s the worst part. The golf is secondary.”

Nathan Charnes, the acting PGA of America president and general manager at WingHaven, said that the club “promptly addressed the matter” and the incident is closed.

“WingHaven Country Club is aware of the recent attention surrounding an incident involving a former member during a Club event,” Charnes told GOLF.com. “The Club promptly addressed the matter.

“We care deeply about the integrity of the game and the experience we provide for our members and guests. Because this situation involved the actions of an individual and has been resolved, we consider it closed and have no further comment.”

Shocking Reveal: Lindsay Clancy’s Drug Saga Takes Dramatic Turn in Court

Nurse Julie Paul expected to return to stand

Anticipation builds as Day 11 of Lindsay Clancy’s trial is about to commence in the Plymouth County Superior Court, Massachusetts. Scheduled to take center stage this morning is Nurse Julie Paul, who will be returning for a cross-examination by the defense, led by attorney Kevin Reddington.

Nurse Julie Paul, a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner, briefly interacted with Clancy in November 2022, just two months prior to the tragic events that led to the trial.

Paul facilitated a postpartum program and was introduced to Clancy through Sue Clancy, Patrick Clancy’s mother, who shares the same nursing profession.

Clancy dealt with intense anxiety and an incessantly racing mind. Yet, according to Paul, it was insomnia that posed the biggest challenge for her.

On November 21, 2022, Paul prescribed Prozac to Clancy. Shortly thereafter, she added Ambien, Remeron, and Klonopin to Clancy’s regimen, aiming to address her sleep issues.

In late-November, Paul was relocating to another hospital so transferred Clancy’s care to another nurse.

At that time, Clancy was also in the care of Dr Jennifer Tufts – who faced a grilling from Reddington on Monday about her experience and the quality of her treatment of Clancy in the four months leading up to the killings.

Omar Alleges Federal Surveillance at Minneapolis Suburb Meeting

0

Democratic U.S. Representative Ilhan Omar recently revealed that an agent from Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) was stationed outside her regular town hall gathering in Richfield, Minnesota, last Thursday.

In a letter made public on social media Monday, Omar addressed Michael McCarthy, the interim special agent leading HSI’s St. Paul office, expressing concerns about the event. Omar’s letter detailed how a young woman, seated in a Ford Explorer, seemed out of place as she observed arrivals at a local community center where the meeting was convened. A Richfield police officer found her behavior questionable, prompting further investigation.

The letter explained that the officer decided to check the vehicle’s license plates and discovered they were registered to a different car. Subsequently, the officer approached the woman for clarification.

Initially, the woman identified herself as part of a security team. However, when Richfield Police verified with Omar’s security detail and found no association, she contacted her supervisor. At that juncture, it was disclosed she was an undercover HSI agent engaged in a local drug operation, according to Omar’s letter.

Following the interaction with her supervisor, the woman left the premises, as stated in the letter from Omar.

“Instead of monitoring the area for those who might wish harm to me and my constituents, Richfield Police were required to devote time to investigating why an HSI agent was outside of a Congressional event in a vehicle with mismatched plates,” Omar said in a written statement on Monday. “It also raises serious and uncomfortable questions about the purpose of HSI’s presence outside of my event.”

According to Omar’s letter, the Richfield Police Department said they had no advance communication of an undercover operation from HSI that would have “allowed them to ensure the safety of the officer and the community, as well as support HSI’s broader work to combat drug trafficking.”

WCCO has reached out to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement for comment.

Omar said the incident “raises concerns” about practices at HSI and its parent agency, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement. She’s asking McCarthy to explain why the agent was stationed outside the community center, how the agency learned of the meeting and what training the agent had completed.

Omar also requested information from McCarthy about any other official events or Minnesota leaders HSI agents may have observed this year.

James Buckley Opens Up on Health Struggles Post-Inbetweeners

Bursting onto the scene in 2008, The Inbetweeners quickly established itself as a beloved cornerstone of British television.

Spanning three seasons across three years, along with two movie adaptations, this comedic powerhouse painted a hilariously relatable picture of teenage life—complete with cringeworthy camaraderie, bumbling attempts at love, and the chaotic experience of school and youthful exuberance.

Viewers grew attached to the characters: awkward Simon Cooper, portrayed by Joe Thomas; the intellectually inclined Will McKenzie, played by Simon Bird; James Buckley’s loud-mouthed Jay Cartwright; and the endearingly clueless Neil Sutherland, brought to life by Blake Harrison.

While the sitcom catapulted them into the spotlight, the actors found themselves pigeonholed in comedic roles, struggling to break free from the ‘dim-witted’ personas that trademarked their on-screen fame.

In addition to facing these career hurdles, Joe and James have openly discussed the challenges they’ve faced with their health, laying bare the reality behind the laughs.

Just this week, James revealed he has been diagnosed with a genetic disease and is at high risk of a cardiovascular incident.

Joe Thomas also previously revealed that he suffered crippling Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) and a breakdown as a result of working on the Channel 4 show.

James, who played the obnoxious Jay, revealed this week that he has been diagnosed with a genetic disease following a health check after his wife Clair was taken to hospital in an ambulance suffering from severe dehydration.

The star then asked doctors for further tests after a blood test he had done previously highlighted concern.

The actor revealed he is at risk of a cardiovascular incident due to having high Lipoprotein(a), a genetically inherited type of blood cholesterol, and has had to give up drinking and cut down on takeaways.

It promotes faster plaque buildup in arteries, increases inflammation and increases the risk of blood clotting.

It affects roughly one in five people worldwide, typically presenting no physical symptoms until a cardiovascular event occurs.

He explained: ‘I’ve also had health problems as well. It’s something to do with my Lipoprotein(a), something to do with that.

‘There’s nothing you can do about it, by the way. And the doctor’s just been like, “you need to change”.’

James has given up drinking for the time being and has also overhauled his diet.

He went on: ‘I’m at a high risk now for a cardiovascular incident. My heart, my arteries. I’m not a religious man, but sometimes I feel like there is a God that sort of goes “that’ll teach you”.

‘I feel like I’ve been on this podcast slagging people off that don’t drink. Yeah, we have boring stuff.

‘But I’m going to have a beer soon.’

The actor added he is also worried because it’s genetic that their two sons may have inherited it.

Meanwhile, James has carved out an incredibly successful career on Cameo, after a drop in acting work.

In 2022 he became the first UK celebrity to become a Cameo millionaire, despite his fears no one would want him to send them a message.

He admitted: ‘I kept saying “this is going to be really, really embarrassing – my tiny fragile ego. I’m not the most confident person, this is going to send me to dark places.

‘I’m going to sign up for this thing and nobody is going to want a video from me”, and it turned out everyone did!’

James explained that he ‘didn’t want to take the p**s out of people’ so chose to charge fans £40.

He continued: ‘I have done tens of thousands. Tens and tens of thousands, maybe thirty, forty thousand, something like that.

‘It was a godsend financially. But I never wanted to take the p**s. I’m in the business of making people happy. I don’t want to rip people off.’

Joe Thomas

Joe played awkward teen Simon Cooper in the sitcom and last year the actor shocked fans as he opened up for the first time about the ‘immense pressure’ and ‘crippling OCD’ he experienced while filming.

Speaking with co-star James on their podcast Joe and James Fact Up, the former co-stars reflected on their time filming the hit Channel 4 show and shared some of their mental health woes.

Joe revealed he battled OCD and struggled with twitching when he was stressed.

He candidly said: ‘There was loads of pressure. I felt tons of pressure. I also just had crippling OCD and I kept thinking I’d f***** up the continuity.

‘I kept turning up to sound being like “I’m so sorry just worried that I might have made a noise with my chair”, and they were like, “Joe, it’s fine, we’ll let you know”.

‘It was just generally astonishing OCD… I had it when I left university and when I was on the Inbetweeners it was really, really bad to the extent where they paid for a therapist to come on set and she thought it was a joke.

‘Because it was a Channel 4 show, she thought it was like a candid camera show and it was a stitch-up.’

The actor added: ‘Also it wasn’t discussed that much at the time, so it was just like “I’m completely insane” and I need to deal with this privately in these little nine-second breaks that I was asking for and somehow pull my head together.’

Joe went on to be thankful for the creator Iain Morris, who was sympathetic, and spoke about a time he was aggressively blinking on set and Iain said to him, ‘Where have you gone?’.

He explained: ‘I felt seen, that is what it is… There were times I was just annoyed I was making the show because I wanted to get back to my own private worries.’

James said: ‘You’ve been through a handful of twitches since I’ve known you as well. Unfairly, this became a DVD extra at one point where Joe was having a breakdown.

‘It was on the first Inbetweeners film, there’s an outtake where Joe’s having a breakdown… He says “can I just have ten seconds” and then he goes “well that did absolutely nothing”.’

Joe continued: ‘Yeah, I was always asking for these short breaks where I’d try really really quickly get my entire head together.

‘I’d be like: “It’ll take about six or nine seconds… Can I just… I can’t do it”.’

His co-star and longtime friend agreed that while the lads spent the majority of the show being filmed joking around and having fun, it also came with huge pressures.

James said: ‘It was stressful… But we also did put so much pressure on ourselves. It’s really ironic when you think about it, but there was such a pressure to be funny. We were obsessed with being funny.

‘There was always funny stuff in the script, but even when you’re not saying lines I was like, “Well I’ve got to be doing something funny right now”.

‘There was just this immense pressure of being funny.’

Joe agreed: ‘Feeling like you were supposed to be funny and then you weren’t, and the scene being over was the worst feeling in the world.’

Simon Bird

While Simon keeps his private life out of the spotlight, the actor has been open about the hindrance The Inbetweeners has had on his career.

Despite being almost two decades old, his role as Will McKenzie has typecast Simon as a particular comedic character.

He told NME in 2021: ‘My career [depends on] being able to wriggle free of being Will from The Inbetweeners. I’ve been trying to escape his shadow.

‘The need to [escape our characters] has become apparent to all four of us over time. When the films came out and they were hits, we all hoped they would lead to new opportunities for us.

‘The reality is there’s not much comedy made in this country. If you’re associated with a big role, I can understand why the makers of other series wouldn’t want you. You’re bringing baggage with you and they’re trying to create new characters. It makes total sense…’

Later in an interview with The Independent in 2023, he made several quips about his career struggles as he teased: ‘I’m not turning down a lot of active work – they’re not banging on the door.’

He joked: ‘As you’ll find out in this conversation, I couldn’t be more of a beta male. What’s below beta? That’s sort of where I am. So I understand why I’m not offered the alpha male roles.’

After The Inbetweeners, he bagged himself a role as Adam Goodman in Channel 4’s Friday Night Dinner, as he teased: ‘They’re the only channel that give me any work.’

He has gone on to star in a range of TV projects and has also tried his hand at producing and directing, retreating more behind the camera.

Yet when he is out and about, he still gets recognised as Will. He told the Daily Mail in 2024: ‘People come up to me in the street and quote lines from the show and I have no idea what they’re talking about.

‘I don’t watch myself back, I can’t remember the show – I don’t think I’ve even watched it back since I made it in 2008.’

Blake Harrison

Blake played the dopey Neil Sutherland in the hit show and, like Simon, the star has struggled to break away from that stereotype.

Speaking on Virgin Radio in 2023 while promoting his BBC drama World On Fire, he said: ‘It’s a weird thing… you go into comedy – not that I intended to – it was just the first job I got out of drama school was this good comedy that turned out to be The Inbetweeners.

‘Yeah obviously doing something like that, people start to go, “Oh well that’s what you do, you play dumb guys in a comedy” and so there’s had to be a lot of moments where I’ve had to turn stuff down and say no to things because it was just keeping that going and kind of putting the nails in the coffin that is your career.

‘Then you finally get opportunities to do things like World On Fire and you go into an audition and you do put pressure on yourself and think this would make such a difference for me, I would love to showcase that I can do this, and then it happens.’

Explaining he didn’t want a career focused in comedy, he added: ‘That wasn’t what excited me. I come from doing theatre and drama schools and all that kind of stuff where you’re playing different characters all the time and that’s what you enjoy.

‘You enjoy going “oh this is different to what I played before” and you work out how to do it and that is what excites me.’

Blake also spoke about the struggles of rejection in the industry. He told the WalesOnline podcast In the Spotlight: ‘The times when you’re not working are when you can really struggle.’

‘When people don’t see you [for roles] is when your mental health can deteriorate. It’s in moments where you’ve had ten auditions and none of them have gone your way. No one gives you any reason why.

‘That can be difficult at times, especially when you’re like me and have spent your entire life wanting to do this. You just sort of hit a brick wall for a while and don’t know how to knock through it – that’s the toughest moment.’

Anthony Head

The late Anthony Head also had a small part in the series as Will’s dad, Mr McKenzie.

The actor, who was best known for his roles in Buffy The Vampire Slayer and Ted Lasso, passed away in June at the age of 72.

His daughter Emily Head also starred in The Inbetweeners as Simon’s crush Carli D’Amato.

The British star’s death came just six months after that of his partner, the animal therapist and rights campaigner Sarah Fisher, who died of thyroid cancer aged 61.

A statement from his daughters, actresses Emily and Daisy, said: ‘It is with heavy hearts that we announce the death of our extraordinary father, Anthony Head.

‘He passed away peacefully of complications due to pneumonia, surrounded by his family.

‘It has been, and forever will be, an honour and a privilege to be his daughters, and to have witnessed firsthand the impact both he and his work have had on so many.

‘We know how dearly he will be missed by friends, colleagues, and fans of the shows he was in – he loved his job very much, and he always considered himself incredibly lucky, to have been able to work alongside such exceptionally talented people, in such wonderful productions, across a career that spanned several decades.

‘Our grief is far greater than the hole he has left behind, but we know his legacy will live on, in the shows he was a part of, and in the audiences that love them.

‘How lucky we are to know we are able to watch him doing what he loved, even when he is no longer with us.

‘We kindly ask that our privacy is respected at this difficult time.’
