After a recent heart attack, Ronald White died in a hospital. Diane Bouska, his wife, verified it.

White was praised as a mandolinist for his rich tone and rhythmic creativity and his warm, expressive voice, which could be used for both lead and harmony parts in an arrangement.
His openness also marked his music to ideas and techniques outside the realm of conventional bluegrass.

After that, White joined the progressive bluegrass band Country Gazette, where he stayed for 13 years. He joined the Nashville Bluegrass Band in 1987 and remained with them until 2000. Following that, he founded the Roland White Band, which he led until his death.

White was a well-known mandolin teacher who led seminars and private sessions and released instructional books and CDs.

Ronald was survived by two children from a previous marriage: Roline Hodge and Lawrence LeBlanc.

He also had a sister, Rose Marie Johnson, two grandkids, and a great-granddaughter.

Roland Joseph LeBlanc was born on April 23, 1938, in Madawaska, Maine, to Eric and Mildred Cyr LeBlanc, the first of their five children. His father, a carpenter, was a musician who played guitar, tenor banjo, and harmonica, while his mother was a stay-at-home mom.

Diana Bouska, Ronald’s wife, was a Ronald and White group co-owner.

Ronald’s net worth was estimated to be $40 million in 2022.

In 1987, he left the Country Gazette to join the Nashville Bluegrass Band, with whom he made Grammy-nominated albums in 1993 and 1995. He created the Roland White Band in 2000, and their debut album, “Jelly on My Tofu,” received a Grammy nomination.

In 2018, White was inducted into the International Bluegrass Music Association Hall of Fame. A year later, the Kentucky Colonels were given the same accolade.

Bouska, who sang and played guitar in the Roland White Band and was a co-producer of their songs, collaborated with White on many instructive books and DVDs.
