Ed Sheeran once got an epic homemade gift from Taylor Swift, complete with a joke made at Kanye West’s expense.

Sheeran, 34, took to Instagram earlier this month to show off some throwback pictures from his old phone. One photo included a jar of fresh jam made by Swift, now 35, which included a label with a personal note.

“Yo Ed – I’m really happy 4 you and I’m gonna let you finish but this is the best JAM OF ALL TIME, – T,” the jar label read which was handwritten by Swift.

Swift’s message — which she seemingly wrote in 2013 — was a reference to West’s infamous proclamation when he interrupted her acceptance during the 2009 VMAs.

“Yo, Taylor, I’m really happy for you, I’ma let you finish, but Beyoncé had one of the best videos of all time!” West, now 47, declared.

The intense exchange between Swift and West set off a decade-long feud between the pair. Their drama inspired multiple songs by both artists.

In the photo caption, Sheeran noted that “it was pretty good jam.”

Many Swifties took to the comments section to react to Swift’s shade.

“Tay really used that line EVERYWHERE😍😂,” one user replied while another responded, “SHES GOT JOKES 😆.”

This wasn’t the only throwback moment Sheeran shared of him and Swift in recent weeks. Sheeran uploaded a throwback snap of him, Swift, her ex Calvin Harris, Louis Tomlinson and Niall Horan from the 2015 Billboard Awards.

“I’m dribbly drunk at this point,” Sheeran wrote alongside the pic.

Sheeran also posted a snap of Swift and Hailee Steinfeld “getting pizza somewhere on tour.” In the photo, Swift held up two slices of cheese pizza and made a silly face for the camera.

Sheeran’s trip down memory lane comes a decade after he decided to get rid of his phone and only communicate via email. Sheeran was involved in a copyright infringement lawsuit regarding his song “Thinking Out Loud,” but a jury cleared him of any wrongdoing in 2023. During the case, Sheeran turned over his phone for evidence and had it stored in a box.

“It felt like a time capsule, a time of life that I was in, and living at that time in 2015,” Sheeran wrote via Instagram on Tuesday, April 29, of turning the phone back on. “Turning it on really spun me out, I found myself scrolling messages and conversations with people who are no longer here. “I found myself crying at messages to friends who are now dead, who I won’t get to speak to again. I found old photos of me with people I was so close to then, but we’ve lost touch since.”

Sheeran added that the experience was an “emotional journey” that ended up inspiring his new song “Old Phone,” which drops on Thursday, May 1.

“It feels like a song that should’ve been on my debut album, but also a song I couldn’t have written until I experienced real life things happening to me,” he continued. “It makes me emotional to sing, I hope it finds some emotion in you too. Maybe it makes you switch on your old phone and have a look at where you were a decade ago too.”
