A bitter war of words has erupted between two men named Charles over the arrangements for Princess Diana’s funeral.
In a devastating memoir, Charles Spencer claims that an enraged Prince Charles told him, just days after Diana’s death: “Rest assured, we’ll forget her soon enough.” The full extract can be read here in the Daily Mail.
A Palace spokesman challenged the Earl’s account last week, warning that grief between brothers can “cloud reason, affect judgment and colour memory”.
