Travis Kelce Makes ‘Atypical’ Gesture Toward Taylor Swift

Travis Kelce marked his 37th birthday—and his first as a married man—by stepping out in New York City with his wife, Taylor Swift.

While fans speculated about how Swift would celebrate her husband’s milestone, the couple were photographed arriving for dinner at the Italian restaurant Torrisi. Their entrance caught the attention of body-language expert Darren Stanton, who noticed several surprising gestures Kelce directed toward Swift as they exited their vehicle.

Stanton is a body-language and behavioral specialist with a psychology degree and a background in law enforcement. As a former police officer, he used his expertise while interviewing hundreds of suspects before moving into media analysis. He has since earned the nickname “Human Lie Detector” and regularly comments on the behavior of high-profile public figures.

Speaking to Showbiz Cheat Sheet on behalf of OLBG, Stanton said the couple’s connection remains clear. “In psychology we look at interpersonal attraction, which we definitely still see with Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce,” he explained. According to Stanton, their prolonged eye contact is particularly telling, since contact lasting more than 10 seconds can be an intimate gesture. “They’re still very much into each other,” he added.

Stanton also described Kelce as taking on the role of a protective “prince” or “knight in shining armour.” He said the NFL star supported Swift as she left the car and displayed unusually delicate, elegant movements. “It’s atypical of him,” Stanton said, noting that such behavior might not be expected from someone with Kelce’s size, athletic background and skill set.

“Kelce sees himself as a bodyguard,” Stanton continued. He observed that Kelce often stays slightly ahead of Swift with his hands behind his back—a stance the expert associated with confidence and authority. “It’s almost suggesting, ‘You have to get through me first in order to get to Taylor.’”

The expert said Kelce’s behavior reflects a role that extends beyond being Swift’s husband. By positioning himself carefully and holding her hand, Stanton believes Kelce signals both support and devotion. “I believe that they are besotted with each other and are very much in love,” he said.

On Kelce’s birthday, renowned psychic astrologer Inbaal Honigman also conducted a Tarot reading for OLBG and drew The Star card. She said it represented Kelce’s “overwhelming joy at ‘having it all.’” Inbaal explained that he appears to feel he has the relationship, career and beautiful homes he always wanted, adding that he “couldn’t be happier” and believes his dreams have come true.
