Speaking Wednesday on Fox News Channel’s “The Story,” U.S. Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee said Hamas has taken no steps toward disarmament despite agreeing to do so. He argued that the group continues fighting and attempting to kill and kidnap Israelis while being “cornered in Gaza,” after President Trump brought Hamas to the negotiating table.
Huckabee said the president had developed a “very, very solid plan” and established the Board of Peace, allowing the process to advance progressively. However, he said Hamas was responsible for the delay because it had agreed to surrender its weapons but had given up “none” of its bullets, bombs, rifles or pistols.

“They promised they would,” Huckabee said, adding that Hamas had ignored the commitments made after Trump brought the group to the table. He said the group’s continued attacks and alleged attempts to kill and kidnap Israelis were an important part of the situation that he hoped the public would come to fully understand.
