Sydney Sweeney appears to be making several major changes in her life. The actress, who is dating Scooter Braun, has reportedly been meeting with rabbis amid speculation that she is considering converting to Judaism. At the same time, she surprised fans with a brunette look that made her almost unrecognizable.
The Housemaid star recently posted a carousel of photos from a visit to Pacific Park. She spent the day with a friend, enjoying the amusement park’s rides, food and shops. Sweeney wore a white T-shirt featuring a Santa Monica graphic, denim shorts, white sneakers and black goggles.
Her hair, however, quickly became the main talking point. Sweeney traded her signature blonde style for a short, dark wig with full bangs, creating a dramatically different appearance. The 29-year-old clarified that she had not dyed her hair black; instead, a friend convinced her to try on the wig.
“When your bestie shows up and says, ‘Here, put this wig on,’” she wrote in the caption. Fans embraced the unexpected transformation, with one commenting, “Love this idea! Glad to see you out and about without all the hassle.” Another admitted, “I didn’t even recognise her,” while a third praised her as beautiful both blonde and brunette. Several fans also said the new look reminded them of Hannah Montana.
According to Harper’s Bazaar, Sweeney is naturally brunette. She previously revealed that she dyed her hair blonde to play Cassie in Euphoria. The repeated color changes eventually took a toll on her hair. “I went blonde for Cassie. Then, I dyed my hair red for another role, [in National Anthem], but I had to go right back to blonde. It fried my hair,” she said in 2024.

“I was the girl in the shower pulling hair out like cotton candy and crying my eyes out,” Sweeney continued. The experience prompted her to focus on restoring her natural hair and to rely on wigs rather than undergo more coloring treatments. “I’m on a hair care journey right now, and I feel like I’m the most me when it’s just naturally air-dried and not fried with heat. I’ve been learning a lot about my hair,” the actress explained.
Meanwhile, Sweeney and Braun are reportedly becoming more serious after dating for a year. Page Six reported that the couple has discussed starting a family and having children. Those plans are said to be connected to Sweeney’s reported consideration of converting to Judaism. “The couple is discussing having their own family, and Scooter feels strongly on the subject,” an insider claimed.
A source also told the outlet that Sweeney attended Rosh Hashanah services at Temple Sholom in Connecticut, where she and Braun reportedly sat in the back. The Christy star has also allegedly met with two rabbis as she explores the conversion process, which could take between one and four years.
Converting would involve a significant commitment, including intensive study of Judaism and finding a rabbi willing to sponsor her through the process.
