Emilie Kiser Reveals 7-Year Struggle With an Eating Disorder

Emilie Kiser is speaking openly about her years-long struggle with an eating disorder.

The 27-year-old influencer, who is expecting her third child, addressed what she called “a topic that [she] really doesn’t talk about very often” in a TikTok posted Thursday, October 15.

“I had an eating disorder for about seven years on and off,” Kiser said. She explained that growing up as a dancer contributed to her difficult relationship with food and her body. “I really do feel like a lot of eating behaviors, body dysmorphia, self-consciousness with my body really did come from dance, even though so many good things came from it,” she shared.

Looking back on her recovery, Kiser said she has come a long way and credited her husband, Brady Kiser, with playing an important role in her healing.

“I really healed from it after Brady and I got married because he was able to help me a lot through it,” Emilie said. She added that this was also when people close to her began realizing how much she had been struggling. Emilie and Brady share sons Teddy, 16 months, and Trigg, who died at age 3 in a drowning accident.

She continued, “When you’ve suffered from an ED and it took up such a large chunk of your life, you constantly have moments where you’re like, ‘Oh wow. I’ve made a lot of progress.’”

Today, eating foods that once caused anxiety feels like a major milestone. Kiser said she “can’t believe it used to be a trigger” and recalled being afraid to eat certain foods or constantly worrying about calories and her appearance. She never expected to reach a point where she would no longer track everything she ate or focus obsessively on her body.

Emilie Kiser Says Husband Brady 'Allowed Me to Take Out Every Emotion' After Late Son Trigg's Death

Emilie Kiser previously shared an update on coping with grief after the death of her son Trigg in May 2025. While pregnant with her third baby, the 27-year-old spoke on TikTok about navigating life after Trigg’s drowning accident. She began the video by sharing […]

“I was thinking about it today [because] I am not fixated on my body at all anymore, and I think that comes with age but also it comes with healing,” she said. Kiser recalled that she once would not have allowed herself to eat a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. Now, she said, “I’m so proud of myself because I don’t even think about that anymore. I eat what I want.”

Kiser emphasized that she is not a dietitian or an eating-disorder expert, but said her experience has shown her that recovery is possible. “I’m 27 years old, I’m pregnant with my third baby. I have come so far with food and the way that I think about food, and I don’t even think about it anymore,” she said.

She also encouraged anyone struggling to seek support from trusted people. “If you are someone that is struggling, I am here for you and I really hope that you have people in your life that you can trust and can help you in that journey,” Emilie said. She reiterated, “TW: talk about food and past ED. Ily guys and I just share because it was on my mind🤍🤍🤍.”
