Glassman joined Season 16 of “RHONY” in September 2026 at age 39, 17 years after dating Jon Gosselin. Yet the passage of time has not softened her feelings about the experience. In the season premiere, she shared new details about the relationship, making the circumstances surrounding their age difference seem even more controversial. Glassman said she met Jon because he and Kate were friends with her parents. “The reason I dated Jon is because he was my mom’s friend, and she was like, ‘Oh, he’s a great guy!’” she told Erin Lichy (via Bravo).

Jon and Kate first became acquainted with the Glassman family through Hailey’s father, Dr. Lawrence Glassman, a plastic surgeon. “[Kate Gosselin] had six kids at once and wanted a tummy tuck, so my dad did the tummy tuck,” Hailey said. “And my mom recovered her at the house and stuff, and from there, they became family friends.” Kate has previously discussed undergoing the procedure with Dr. Glassman.

Jon was reportedly living with the Glassman family when he and Hailey started dating, a detail she also referenced in her 2009 interview. “He was living in my house, the person I joked around with. He was sad and bored, I was home and bored,” she told E! News.
