The Offspring guitarist Kevin “Noodles” Wasserman announced that he is stepping away from live performances while he addresses a serious health issue.
The longtime lead guitarist for punk rock band The Offspring said Wednesday that he will miss the remainder of the group’s current tour because of the sudden medical concern.
In a social media post, Noodles said he needed to “step away from live performances for a little while to deal with a sudden and fairly serious health issue.” He did not disclose the nature of the condition or say how long he expects to be away from the stage.
The Offspring has spent much of the year on the road and has four dates remaining on its current tour. The next performance is scheduled for Saturday at the Rock 2 Freedom benefit concert in Los Angeles. Noodles said the rest of the band “will keep rocking you in my absence.”

“The rest of the band has my back, and is super supportive,” Noodles wrote on Instagram. “I hope to be back on stage sooner rather than later.”
Noodles, 63, has been a member of The Offspring for more than four decades, joining the California band when it was founded in 1984. The group released its 11th studio album, Supercharged, in 2024.
During a 2024 interview with People, Noodles discussed touring while band members raise their children together. He also spoke about writing songs inspired by his young kids and his experience as a parent. Reflecting on his four-decade friendship with frontman Dexter Holland, he said, “Dexter and I always loved doing what we do. I’ve always been really appreciative of his songwriting, and I love the time we spend in the studio, but then taking the songs out and playing them live for fans, that’s the greatest feeling in the world.”
