Release from Alachua County Sheriff’s Office
Investigators are asking residents in the Avalon Woods and Newtown communities to check their home security camera recordings for potentially useful evidence. Surveillance footage reportedly shows two people wearing hoodies, masks and gloves trying to open vehicle doors in the area.
Residents in both communities are encouraged to review their recordings, even if they did not observe anything unusual. Video captured by home security systems could help investigators identify the individuals involved.
Anyone with video, information about the incidents or knowledge of suspicious activity is asked to contact ASO at 352-955-1818, option 5.
