Held at New York City’s Museum of Modern Art, the annual event gave Ciara the chance to showcase her growing baby bump in a floor-length black gown featuring an asymmetrical neckline and an elegant cutout detail.

Russell coordinated with his wife in a navy blue satin suit, which he paired with a black turtleneck.

In one photo from the evening, the former NFL star appeared every bit the affectionate husband as he gently placed a hand on Ciara’s belly.

The couple’s red-carpet outing came nearly two months after they announced they were expecting another child. On September 6, Ciara and Russell revealed the news in a joint Instagram post showing four shirts with their children’s names hanging on a clothesline, followed by a tiny white onesie.

“One more person to Love,” they wrote in the caption.

The new arrival will be Ciara’s fifth child and her fourth with Russell. Married since 2016, the couple are parents to daughters Sienna Princess, 9, and Amora Princess, 2, as well as son Win Harrison, 6. Ciara also shares 12-year-old Future Zahir with rapper Future.

Only two days before the WSJ. Magazine ceremony, Ciara and Russell received another major honor: Philanthropists of the Year at Town & Country’s annual Philanthropy Summit, held October 27 in New York City.

The recognition celebrated their work with the Why Not You Foundation, an organization focused on children’s health, education, and expanding opportunities for young people.

In a recent interview with Town & Country, Ciara explained that the foundation’s values also shape the way she and Russell raise their children.

“We say that we want to empower youth to lead with the ‘Why not you?’ attitude, and obviously that applies directly to our kids in our house,” Ciara told the magazine.

Now in its 16th year, the WSJ. Magazine Innovator Awards honor influential names in entertainment, fashion, technology, and other creative fields. This year’s honorees included Rosalía, Amy Poehler, filmmaker Martin McDonagh, and fashion designer Matthieu Blazy.
