Will There Be A Season 2 Of Dutton Ranch? Is Dutton Ranch Canceled Or Renewed for Season 2?
Paramount+ officially renewed Dutton Ranch for Season 2 on Wednesday, June 24, ahead of Episode 8. The decision was hardly unexpected: the series earned a Certified Fresh 90% Tomatometer score on Rotten Tomatoes. According to a Paramount+ press release, Dutton Ranch attracted 12.9 million viewers worldwide within seven days of its premiere, making it the biggest original-series launch in Paramount+ history. Its two-episode debut on Paramount Network also drew 2.9 million total viewers on May 15, marking cable’s biggest series premiere since 2023. The premiere telecast alone reached 1.85 million viewers and ranked as the No. 1 cable entertainment telecast among adults 18-49 and total viewers.
“Dutton Ranch has resonated with audiences in a powerful way, building on the legacy of beloved characters, while establishing its own identity,” Paramount Television Studios President Matt Thunell said. “Thank you to our partners at Paramount+ and 101 Studios for a phenomenal first season. Dutton Ranch Season 2 Release Date Info: When Is Season 2 Of Dutton Ranch Coming Out?
There is still no official Dutton Ranch Season 2 premiere date. However, The Hollywood Reporter confirmed that filming is expected to begin early next year. “We’re slated to start early 2027 to film,” Reilly told THR in July. “But the room starts up pretty quick. I think we’re going to be very much involved in the room, so the next sort of six months is all about writing it.”
If production follows that schedule, Dutton Ranch Season 2 could arrive in 2027 instead of being delayed until 2028. For now, fans will have to wait for Paramount+ to announce an official premiere date.
Is Cole Hauser Leaving Dutton Ranch? And Who’s Dutton Ranch‘s Showrunner?
Recent rumors about tensions between Hauser and Sheridan have prompted speculation that Cole Hauser might leave Dutton Ranch before Season 2. At this point, however, there is no indication that either Rip or Hauser is departing. The Yellowstone spin-off was created to continue the stories of Beth, Rip and Carter, and Hauser also serves as an executive producer. That makes Rip’s exit unlikely in the near future.

Grimes has confirmed that Beth and Rip will not appear in Marshals Season 2 this fall. Still, with Dutton Ranch expected to begin filming its second season in 2027, viewers can continue to hope that Kayce will show up in the sister series. That possibility gained momentum after Grimes and Marshals star Ash Santos discussed the idea of a Dutton sibling reunion.
“It’s not out of the question that we might have some sort of crossover at some point. Beth’s basically Kayce’s only living family member other than Tate. It would make sense that down the line we’d at least talk,” Grimes told TV Insider. “[Kelly and I] texted about it back and forth a lot, talked about how it’d be fun and necessary for our story arcs, however they’re going to end.”
When DECIDER asked Santos whether she would support a crossover, she replied, “Hopefully. It would be cool. I agree with the fans. It’s hard not to want that, especially because Kayce was so close with Beth, and they had such an interesting brother-sister dynamic. I’m like, ‘Who wouldn’t want to see that?’”
Those encouraging comments came only months after Reilly and Hauser expressed similar enthusiasm. So, if you’re hoping for a Marshals and Dutton Ranch crossover, the possibility remains open.
