Katie Miller’s Rise: How the MAHA Maven Became a Rising Star

Stephen Miller moved to the center of the headlines after being named Donald Trump’s new chief of staff on Friday. His wife, Katie, is also embracing a higher public profile.

She has praised her husband as a “sexual matador” and presented herself as a loyal partner after reports revealed that she spent weeks encouraging people to promote him for the role.

The 35-year-old made the provocative joke during a Fox News interview last year, after the host suggested she was the “envy of all women.”

“The sexual matador, right…” she replied. “He’s an incredibly inspiring man who gets me going in the morning with his speeches, being like, ‘Let’s start the day. I’m going to defeat the left and we are going to win!’”

She also displayed her newfound confidence on social media after Politico reported that she had directed several people to call the president and suggest Stephen replace his former boss, Susie Wiles.

“BREAKING: Wife supports husband,” Katie wrote on X in response to Friday evening’s report. “If your wife doesn’t do this, find a new one,” she added.

Stephen Miller is now taking over Wiles’s position. She had long been regarded as indispensable to the president after serving as his longtime aide, but Katie Miller’s influence is also expected to grow.

Already a prominent MAGA figure, she has built considerable influence among senior Trump administration officials. Together, the Millers are emerging as one of the most powerful couples in Washington during the final two years of Trump’s presidency.

Katie Miller launched a podcast for conservative women last year. Her first guest was JD Vance, followed by other senior administration figures including Marco Rubio, with her husband helping arrange appearances.

She has also become an unofficial MAGA social secretary, organizing gatherings at the couple’s home on a military base outside Washington.

According to reports, many of the administration’s most prominent figures have attended, including Rubio, Scott Bessent, Pete Hegseth and Kash Patel.

She also reportedly hosted celebrations for Karoline Leavitt’s birthday and Todd Blanche’s confirmation as attorney general.

“Love her or hate her, when she says she’s going to do something, she does it far better than you would ever expect,” Leavitt later told Vanity Fair. “And that is true of her party planning. She goes over the top. It’s always a family-friendly affair, and she invites everyone.”

Miller rejected Vanity Fair’s comparisons between the couple’s home and the court of Versailles or the Kennedys’ Camelot.

“We pay rent for our home at the fair market rate, and we also pay for most maintenance and repairs,” she told the magazine last month.

“I host birthday parties for my children in our backyard like most families. My goal is to build a community and friends for our kids—only the Legacy Media can spin that into something negative.”

While continuing with her podcast, which is intended as a conservative response to “Call Her Daddy” and covers more than politics, Miller has also faced hostility alongside her husband.

The couple moved to a military base after protests near their former home in Arlington, Virginia. Demonstrators displayed posters featuring their address, accused Stephen Miller of “crimes against humanity” and wrote messages in chalk on the road.

The day after Charlie Kirk was assassinated, a protester outside the home told Katie Miller: “I’m watching you.”

A month ago, a Massachusetts man was arrested and charged with cyberstalking after allegedly targeting her with dozens of threatening phone calls and messages.

Born Katie Waldman, she grew up in Florida before moving to Washington, where she worked in communications for a Republican senator and later at the Department of Homeland Security during the family-separation crisis at the border in Trump’s first term. She subsequently became Mike Pence’s press secretary.

She met Stephen Miller in 2018, and they married two years later at the Trump International Hotel in Washington, with the president among the guests. They now have four children, the youngest born in June.

During Trump’s second term, Katie Miller advised Elon Musk at the Department of Government Efficiency. She continued working for the world’s richest man after his explosive falling-out with Trump and his return to the private sector.

While Katie Miller was working for Musk, he unfollowed Stephen Miller on X.

In July 2025, she confirmed that she was still employed by Musk, saying: “My paycheck still comes from him.”

The following month, however, she launched her own podcast and declared: “For MAGA and President Trump’s legacy to grow long-term, we must talk to conservative women.”

After the midterm elections, she faced criticism when it emerged that she had not voted.

At 8:14 a.m. on Election Day, she posted on X: “Vote like your life depends on it.”

At 3:56 p.m., she added: “Election Day always makes me want to have more kids to cancel out the votes of the America-hating leftists. After all, conservatives have more babies.”

Following the Republican defeat, she acknowledged that she had not cast a ballot herself.

She told CBS News host Norah O’Donnell: “You see that moms are too busy raising their children and taking care of them to go to the polls.

“I did not vote in Virginia because, in Virginia, when you vote, you dox your own address, and so I prefer my own safety and security over giving that up.”

Miller also blamed “candidate quality” for her party’s losses as Democrats took control of both the House and Senate.

She rejected the idea that the election had been a referendum on the Trump administration, maintaining a united front with her husband as he takes on the task of reversing the party’s fortunes.
