In the strategic world of Anime Squadron, traits play a crucial role in shaping the capabilities of units on the battlefield. These traits offer permanent enhancements, boosting a character’s damage, health, and range, while also potentially reducing their spawn cost and cooldown time. Players can obtain these advantageous modifiers by collecting Trait Shards, which are available at no cost through the completion of quests and Challenge stages.
Since each unit can only equip a single trait, understanding the unique benefits of each one is essential. This guide delves into the various traits available in Anime Squadron, detailing their names, probabilities, and effects.
How to roll Traits in Anime Squadron

To assign a trait to a unit, players must interact with the Trait Reroll NPC, located within the Upgrade zone, across from the Stat Reroll NPC. By engaging with this character, players can utilize their Trait Shards to bestow a trait upon a selected unit.
Once the Trait Reroll interaction begins, a menu will appear on the screen. Players can then choose a unit from their inventory and click the green Reroll button to assign it a trait. The outcome is determined by a combination of random number generation (RNG) and a pity system, which influences the specific modifier applied.
Once you interact with the NPC, the Trait Reroll menu will open on the screen. Select a unit from your inventory and then hit the green Reroll button to give them a Trait. The applied modifier depends on your RNG luck as well as the pity system.
The best Traits have a pity meter. After using a certain number of Trait Shards for rerolls, you’re guaranteed to receive a particular Trait from the gacha. The pity ensures that there is a definite prize after investing several shards.
Trait Shards in Anime Squadron can be acquired in the following ways:
- Challenges: Trait Shards are common rewards from the many Acts in the Challenge mode.
- Raids: Act 4 of the Raid mode offers you the best chances of acquiring Trait Shards as completion rewards.
- Redemption codes: Codes that give Trait Shards and other useful items are released by the developers following updates and patches.
- AFK Zone: Spend time in the AFK Zone to passively receive Trait Shards.
- Trait Shard Pack: Purchase these packs with Robux to gain Trait Shards instantly.
The best way to farm Trait Shards is by completing Challenges on repeat.

What are the best Traits in Anime Squadron?

Rebirth, Entrepreneur, Cloner, and Superior are the ideal Traits for units. They have a roll chance of less than 1%, mostly obtained by players who hit their respective pity requirements.
The Rebirth Trait makes the unit spawn with extra health after its initial death. However, this effect only triggers once in a match. Cloner is much better because this Trait gives better damage and health buffs than Rebirth and increases the spawn count of the unit.
Entrepreneur can be given to meta units like Goki SSJ4, Big Beard, and Karashi to drastically reduce their spawn cost and enhance their damage and health. The Superior Trait is an alternative for the Entrepreneur because it gives the best stat boosts, but limits the unit spawn number to one.
