How to begin Yo-Kai Watch event in Final Fantasy XIV
Your adventure in the Yo-Kai Watch event within Final Fantasy XIV begins with a trip to Ul’dah (Steps of Nald 9.2, 9.1). Players who have reached at least level 15 and completed the quests, The Gridanian Envoy, The Lominsan Envoy, or The Ul’dahn Envoy, will encounter the Poor Heeled Youth here.

This character will grant you access to the event, equipping you with the Yo-Kai Watch (essential to wear) and the Yo-Kai Medallium. These additions are key to gathering an impressive collection of Yo-Kai Medals, pivotal to completing the event. By reaching specific achievements with minions and weapons, you unlock extraordinary mounts, completing your collection.
How to get the Yo-Kai Watch minions in Final Fantasy XIV

With your Yo-Kai Watch equipped in Final Fantasy XIV, picking up Yo-Kai Medals is incredibly easy. You just need to have the watch equipped, and complete FATEs in La Noscea, Thanalan, or The Black Shroud.
You do need to get a Silver or Gold Rating in each FATE to get your Medal. The Medals have a 100% drop rate, so it’s very easy to get these. You need 49 Yo-Kai Medals in total, to unlock all the minions. The first minion costs 1 medal, and the others cost 3.
To get the Yo-Kai Watch minions in Final Fantasy XIV, head to the Gold Saucer, and speak to Nohi (5.3, 6.9), to trade medals for minions. Once you’ve unlocked all the minions, that’s when the real grind begins.
How to unlock all Yo-Kai Watch cosmetic weapons in Final Fantasy XIV

If you want to unlock the 17 Yo-Kai Watch weapons in Final Fantasy XIV, you need to have the correct minion out, and farm FATES in very specific areas. This also requires a Silver or Gold rating in each FATE. Below, we’ll go over all of the options you have for each class weapon, what Yo-Kai minion you need out, and which areas you need to farm.
We’ll put an asterisk (*) next to the area said to have the highest chance of these Legendary Medals dropping. Unfortunately, they do not have a 100% drop rate (~50% at best), so this could take a while.

Return to Nohi in Gold Saucer to buy the weapons. The first one takes 10 Legendary Medals of a specific Yo-Kai minion in Final Fantasy XIV, and the others require 10 Legendary Medals. That means you need a total of 175 Legendary Medals across all 17 minions.
Once you’ve purchased all weapons, you can then speak to Nohi to purchase the Yo-Kai Framer’s Kit (20,000 MGP), and new housing items (Wibbly-Wobbly Jibanyan, Komasan, and USAPyon for 5,000 MGP each).
This event will be in-game between August 4, 2026 and October 5, 2026, so there’s plenty of time to take part in it. However, the grind is really frustrating, so you might want to get started as soon as possible! This, combined with the Relic Weapon grind means players have plenty to keep them occupied.
