Teddi Mellencamp has shed new light on the contentious moment when Dorit Kemsley used a derogatory term to describe Erika Jayne. Teddi, who is close friends with both Erika and Kyle Richards, also revealed that Dorit was aware of Erika’s recent struggles with domestic violence before their heated argument aired. Tamra Judge chimed in, labeling Dorit as “self-centered.”

In a recent episode of the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, tensions flared between Dorit and Erika during a group trip to Italy. As Erika opened up about her personal difficulties, Dorit appeared puzzled by her situation. At one point, Dorit bluntly remarked, “When I said you need to work and you need to contribute, I didn’t mean you need to be a c***.” [Emphasis added.]
Dorit’s comment about Erika’s need to work seemed to suggest that Erika’s role on the show was under scrutiny.
During an episode of Two Ts in a Pod, Teddi offered further insight into the situation, hinting that Dorit had previously suggested to Erika that she needed to intensify her on-screen presence to maintain her place on the show.
On Two Ts in a Pod, Teddi provided more context to the quote. She suggested that Dorit, at some point in the past, implied to Erika that she must amp things up on camera in order to keep her job.
“[Dorit] has told Erika [in the past], ‘You’re going to lose your job if you don’t get to work,’” said Teddi, who then seemed to imply that Dorit thinks Kyle lets her friends do the heavy lifting on camera. “And then Dorit’s like, ‘That’s what she wants, [for] you guys to step in and do it for her.’”
“And then implying that Kyle is the one that gets people hired and fired on this show,” Teddi continued, referring to Dorit’s suggestion at the reunion that Kyle can get her castmates fired. “If that was the case, I would still be on it.”
Later on, Teddi claimed that Dorit was aware of Erika’s terrifying experience.
“[As for] Erika’s DV situation … I for certain know that Dorit knows about that,” she said, via @byewighellodrama on Instagram. “So, Dorit acting like, why has Erika had a bad year?”
“She knew what Erika had gone through,” echoed Tamra.
“But I think that just shows how much Dorit is not paying attention to what her friends are going through,” Teddi went on. “I mean, that’s a major thing to go through. … If you heard that information, it’s not something you forget.”
According to Tamra, Dorit is being “very self-centered.” Later on, Tamra addressed Dorit’s friend Boz Saint John, saying, “What is it with Boz hating Kyle?”
“Boz is out to stir it,” said Teddi. “I thought Rachel was stirring it, but Boz is out there … doing the Lord’s work for freaking Dorit.”
New episodes of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills air on Thursday nights on Bravo.
