A Louisiana couple has been jailed after authorities accused them of subjecting children to years of beatings and threats, including an allegation that one defendant held a gun to a girl’s head and threatened to kill her.
Daniel Daigle, 38, and Sariee Daigle, 36, were each booked into the Beauregard Parish Jail in DeRidder on a charge of cruelty to juveniles, according to jail records reviewed by Law&Crime.
Sariee Daigle is also charged with aggravated assault with a firearm, local NBC and CW affiliate KPLC reported.
Incident reports from the Beauregard Parish Sheriff’s Office, reviewed by the station, say two victims described being choked, kicked, punched and struck with various objects. The victims allegedly told investigators the abuse happened weekly and that Daniel and Sariee Daigle fabricated explanations for the children’s bruises.
Authorities have not clarified the relationship between the defendants and the alleged victims.

One victim told authorities that Sariee Daigle held a gun to her head on her birthday and threatened to kill both the girl and herself. The child reportedly described the incident as “the worst thing that ever happened to her.” She also alleged that Daigle previously pressed a knife against her throat and pinned her to a wall by her neck.
Authorities said the children reported the alleged abuse to someone years ago and were subsequently placed with a family friend. The Louisiana Department of Children and Family Services investigated the claims, leading to the couple’s arrests.
The defendants reportedly characterized the arrests as a misunderstanding, but authorities allege the abuse continued afterward.
The case resurfaced in July after one of the children reportedly told someone at church that Daniel Daigle had threatened to rip out her earrings, KPLC reported. Deputies went to the couple’s home and arrested Sariee Daigle. Daniel Daigle later surrendered to authorities.
