Madison Beer, a celebrated singer, and NFL player Justin Herbert have delighted fans with the announcement of their engagement. Captured in recent photographs, Beer flaunts an impressive engagement ring that immediately caught the public’s eye. A jewelry specialist has analyzed the ring, discussing its cut, size, and estimated value. Despite its sizable appearance, the expert suggests the diamond might seem more substantial than it is.
Madison Beer and Justin Herbert announced their engagment
Beer shared the exciting news on Instagram, declaring that she and Herbert are planning to wed. Accompanying a series of heartfelt photos capturing the proposal, Beer simply captioned them, “Meet my fiancé.”
The couple set the rumor mill spinning back in August 2025 when whispers of their budding romance began. Since those early days, Beer has been a familiar face at many of Herbert’s games, lending her support. Herbert has also reciprocated by making a cameo in Beer’s captivating music video for her track “lovergirl.”
An expert examined Madison Beer’s engagement ring from Justin Herbert
Within Beer’s Instagram post, her stunning diamond engagement ring is prominently displayed. The ring is characterized by an elongated radiant cut, offering a sophisticated rectangular shape. Oliver Hobart, an expert in fine jewelry and the Creative Director at 925E, has assessed the ring. He noted that while its grandeur is eye-catching, the ring might give an impression of being larger than its actual dimensions.
“Working from the ring’s proportions against Madison Beer’s finger and knuckle in these photos, I’d estimate the central stone at somewhere between 8 and 10 carats if not larger, a genuinely substantial size,” he explained. “Elongated cuts like this tend to read even larger than their actual carat weight, because the eye reads length as size before it registers width.”
The diamond is the star of the show in this ring.
“The band appears to be a plain or very finely set shank in a white metal, most likely platinum, with no visible halo,” Hobart said. “Nearly all the design and budget has gone into the stone itself rather than the surrounding setting, which is a deliberate choice.”
Given this estimate, he shared what he believes the ring may have cost Herbert.
“At an estimated 8 to 10 carats, and assuming a colourless to near-colourless grade with good clarity, which is typical for a stone of this calibre and prominence, I’d value this ring somewhere in the region of £180,000 to £280,000 ($240,000 to $370,000) if not more,” he said. “It’s a wide bracket, because cut quality and colour grade move the price enormously at this carat weight, and neither can be pinned down precisely from a photograph. But that’s the realistic range.”
Madison Beer’s engagement ring has a popular cut
While radiant cut diamonds look similar to emerald cuts, Hobart explained that there is a difference between the two.
“This stone is throwing far more sparkle than [an emerald cut]. A radiant cut takes the same elongated rectangular outline but cuts the facets underneath differently, to bring in the fire you’d normally get from a round stone,” he said. “You can see it catching light along almost the full length of the stone rather than in one central flash.”
These cuts have become very popular amongst celebrities in recent years. Beer’s ring has only further driven up interest.
“Radiant cuts have become one of the most popular choices for engagement rings over the past few years, worn by the likes of Hailey Bieber and Ariana Grande, so this isn’t an obscure pick on Herbert’s part,” he said. “It sits in a real sweet spot: the elongated, elegant silhouette of an emerald cut, with significantly more brilliance and sparkle. That combination is exactly why it’s had such a moment.”
