At Least Six Injured in Shooting After Gathering in Sanford

Two of the victims suffered critical injuries

SANFORD, Fla. – At least six people were injured Saturday night after gunfire erupted following a social gathering in Sanford, according to police.

Officers were called to the area of Poplar Avenue and West 10th Street shortly before 10 p.m. Investigators said a group had gathered in the street when at least one person opened fire. Police arrived within minutes and secured the area.

Two victims suffered critical injuries. A police spokesperson said the remaining victims were “fairly OK,” while warning that the number of injured people could rise as detectives continue investigating.

Authorities have not established whether the shooting involved a single gunman or multiple shooters. No arrests have been reported, and investigators are working to determine who was responsible.
