Rain chances increase the farther north you go.
ORLANDO, Fla. – Central Florida’s weather pattern shifts slightly this Sunday as increased moisture slides in, courtesy of a weak frontal boundary making its way into the Southeast.
Sunday Outlook
Sunday kicks off with plenty of sunshine and dry conditions for most, although Marion County may see some scattered storms. As the day progresses, expect showers to concentrate in northern areas late morning through early afternoon, gradually drifting south. By mid-afternoon, scattered thunderstorms will approach the I-4 corridor and the Orlando metropolitan area. These storms are likely to persist east of I-4, tapering off by around 8 p.m. Despite the rain, high temperatures will soar into the mid-90s, with the heat index making it feel closer to 105ºF.
Week Ahead
As we move into Monday, a fresh surge of dry air will settle over Central Florida, offering a brief respite from rain. However, rain prospects will gradually climb throughout the week as moisture slowly returns, influenced by a high-pressure ridge over the western Atlantic. Despite the shifting conditions, daytime highs will remain unseasonably warm, frequently hitting the mid-90s, well above the typical 91°F for this time of year.
