AUGUSTA, Ga. () – On Thursday, Augusta Pride kicked off its yearly festivities with the president’s soiree.
James Mintz, who serves as the treasurer for Augusta Pride, gave insight into what this year’s pride celebrations entail. Here’s what he shared:
“Friday night promises a $10 event filled with energy—a dance party to remember. Come ready to dance and cool down as the night progresses. We’re excited to feature headliners David Archuleta and Girlie, alongside an array of other performers. Our free festival kicks off on Saturday morning, starting between 10 and 10:30 a.m., and continues until 4 p.m.”
“This year’s theme color is orange, as we cycle through the rainbow colors annually to signify what’s meaningful to the community. There’s no need to specifically wear orange, but be sure to bring your vibrant spirit.
“It’s truly inspiring to see the heartfelt messages people leave on our banners. For many, whether they’re teenagers or senior citizens, this might be their first festival. It’s a personal journey towards feeling embraced and accepted by the community. Remember, we’re your neighbors, coworkers, friends, and family, and we aim to represent Augusta proudly.”
This year’s events will take place at the Augusta Exchange Club Fairgrounds due to road construction on Broad Street.
