Champaign Centennial High School has ushered in a new era for its varsity football team with the appointment of Keegan Hill as head coach.
Hill brings a wealth of experience to the Chargers, boasting over 20 years of coaching under his belt. His most recent role was as an assistant coach at Plainfield East in 2025. Prior to that, he held the head coach position at Mendota High School for eight years, solidifying his reputation as a seasoned mentor.
Hill’s coaching journey has seen him contribute to various teams as an assistant in the Rockford area, honing his skills and building a strong foundation in football coaching.
Reflecting on his new role, Hill expressed his enthusiasm, saying, “Opportunity, you’re always searching for a chance to do what you love to do. I love football, and the opportunity lined up here. The interview process went great. So, next chapter here we come.”

He hopes to build a product and program which players, parents, teachers and everyone involved can be proud of.
“We get to start fresh,” he said. “So this is what Coach Hill is about. This is what this era is going to be about. We get to lay the foundation for not only this year but the years to come. So, you know, take care of our bodies, you know, being positive young people and being great competitors in everything that we do.”
Hill takes over the program after Kyle Jackson resigned. Jackson led the program from 2019-2025.
