() – On Sunday, a judge ruled against granting bond for Michilae Herring and Jomareah Harris, the parents of 4-year-old Javeayah Harris.

Magistrate Judge Ronald Thornton decided not to set bond for Herring or Harris, as they both face charges of Homicide by Child Abuse. They were referred to a circuit court judge, as the charges include both Homicide by Child Abuse and Filing a False Police Report. This resulted in separate hearings where bond was denied for each individual.

Both Herring and Harris appeared at the hearings without an attorney. They have both requested a public defender, but the Judge ruled that their income was too high to qualify for the court appointed attorney.

Herring’s next court appearance is set for September 18th at 9 a.m.
