
OAKWOOD, Ill. (WCIA) — Motorists are advised to seek alternative routes following a fiery collision involving two semi-trucks on Interstate 74 in Oakwood, which erupted into flames Sunday afternoon.
Confirmed by an email to WCIA from the Illinois State Police, eastbound traffic on I-74 is currently being redirected to U.S. Route 150 starting at exit 206.
The incident unfolded around 12:15 p.m. As reported by State Police, one of the truck drivers was hospitalized with injuries but is expected to recover. Commuters in the vicinity are urged to proceed with caution and to consider alternate routes.
