AIKEN, S.C. ()- In a heartfelt gathering, the residents of Aiken came together in an alley to pay their respects and remember Javeayah Harris. The community’s spirit was palpable as they united in support of each other during this somber occasion.
On Sunday night, Javeayah’s tragic passing became a symbol of solidarity for the people of Aiken, uniting them in grief and remembrance.
“The community is incredible,” expressed Dorothy Burton. “They’re here for a child they never knew, a little girl they’ve never met. Yet, their hearts are filled with love for her. We’re all here to express that love.”
Even those who had never met Javeayah felt a deep connection, as if she were part of their own families.
“It’s heartbreaking to think of a four-year-old unable to defend herself during such a tragic moment,” shared Steven Brown. “The pain, stress, and agony are overwhelming—it feels as if she were my own child.”
And the community will always be there for Javeayah’s extended family.
“You guys, I’m so sorry. Javeayah was a beautiful little girl and her extended community here in Aiken. We love her, and we’re praying for each and every one of you. And if you need anything, this community is here for you,” said Michele Tabler.
