This shield of rainfall will persist overnight and into Monday morning.
ORLANDO, Fla. – A deep plume of tropical moisture, paired with a developing mid-level low-pressure system, will keep steady rain in the forecast for Central Florida through Sunday night.
Tonight
The broad area of rain that settled over Central Florida during the middle of Sunday afternoon is expected to continue overnight and into Monday morning. Additional downpours could lead to spotty flooding in low-lying locations, particularly north of the Orlando metro area, where some communities have already picked up 3 to 4 inches of rain. Overnight temperatures will remain near 70°F.
Monday
Moisture and atmospheric instability will remain in place Monday, keeping rain chances elevated to begin the week. The wettest conditions are expected during the first half of the day, with scattered showers and thunderstorms possible during the morning commute. Activity should gradually become less organized and fade by midmorning, while afternoon rain chances turn more isolated. High temperatures will range from the upper 70s to the lower 80s.

An upper-level trough is expected to guide a cold front toward Central Florida late Thursday into Friday. The front will weaken considerably before reaching the region, but it should still usher in drier air just in time for EDC weekend.
