JONESBOROUGH, Tenn. (WJHL) — Following an in-depth investigation lasting several months, a woman faces charges of vehicular homicide and DUI stemming from a tragic accident in August 2025 that resulted in two fatalities in Jonesborough.

The Washington County Sheriff’s Office (WCSO) released a statement revealing that 23-year-old Elizabeth Adiah-Anne Blevins allegedly had a blood alcohol level exceeding twice the legal limit at the time of the incident.

As detailed in the report, Blevins was heading west on Highway 11E near Grandview Elementary on August 30, 2025, when she reportedly lost control of her vehicle. This caused her to veer into the eastbound lane, colliding with a Harley-Davidson motorcycle carrying the victims.

The collision resulted in the deaths of David Doty and Donna Doty, both residents of Chuckey, according to the WCSO.

The sheriff’s office indicated that crash reconstruction experts promptly forwarded a blood sample from Blevins to the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI) for analysis on the day of the accident.

“Results showed Blevins had a blood alcohol content of 0.19, more than twice the legal limit of 0.08 in Tennessee,” the release states.

The release said a grand jury returned a presentment on May 15, charging Blevins with two counts of vehicular homicide and driving under the influence. She was served the presentment on Tuesday and taken into custody without incident, the WCSO said. Her bond was set at $100,000, which she posted, the release said.
