Shireen Abu Akleh, an al Jazeera journalist, was shot by the Israeli army while on assignment in Jenin, in the occupied West Bank. On Wednesday, a live bullet struck the journalist.

According to the ministry, she was rushed to the hospital and pronounced dead. The incident shocked Al Jazeera, which accused Israeli security forces of shooting and killing the journalist on purpose.

The circumstances of the Al Jazeera Journalist Shireen Abu Akleh are not made clear. However, the incident footage shows that she was shot in the head, Al Jazeera’s Nida Ibrahim stated.

For now, it is just known that the Palestina Health Ministry has announced the death of the journalist. According to Al Jazeera journalists, Shireen was bit by a live bullet on Wednesday, May 11.

The journalist was then rushed to the nearest hospital to seek emergency medical assistance. Unfortunately, Sheeran didn’t make it through and was declared dead at the hospital.

When a bullet fatally shot her in the head, Shireen covered the events unfolding in Jenin, specifically an Israeli raid on the city, which is north of the occupied West Bank.

Shireen Abu Akleh was a well-known journalist on assignment in Jenin in the occupied West Bank. She was shot in the head while covering Israeli raids in the city of Jenin by Israeli forces and was declared dead at the hospital.

It was devastating to the journalist who had been working with her. Speaking through tears, Ibrahim said Shireen was a well-respected journalist serving Al Jazeera since the start of the second Palestinian Intifada in 2000.

Shireen was wearing a press vest when the bullet shot her. The health ministry stated that another Palestinian journalist was also shot by a live bullet in the back with Shireen.

Al Jazeera has accused Israeli security forces of consciously targeting and killing Shireen Abu Akleh.

The Israel Defense Forces claimed that its security forces had been operating in the area to arrest suspects in terrorist activities, and both Israeli troops and Palestinian suspects were firing at the time.

Al-Samudi, an Al Jazeera journalist, who was alongside Shireen when she was shot, stated that there were no Palestinian gunmen in the area. “The Israeli army shot us,” said Al-Samudi, who was also shot.

Responding to the shooting, Yair Lapid, Israeli Foreign Minister, said his government has offered to conduct a joint Israeli-Palestinian inspection on Twitter, adding with, “Journalists must be protected in conflict zones and all have a responsibility to know the truth.”

After the tragic death of the journalist spread all over the Internet in an instant, many of her loved ones were heartbroken by the news, and tributes have started pouring in for the journalist.
