Here are several young players who could be worth watching when Thursday’s USMNT roster is announced.
Cavan Sullivan, Philadelphia Union, 16
Since MLS play resumed, the teenage standout has been among the league’s most productive performers. He has delivered five goals and seven assists for a Philadelphia Union side that enters the stretch on a 10-match unbeaten run.
Julian Hall, Red Bull New York, 18
The New York City native has powered the New York Red Bulls attack throughout the MLS season. His nine league goals lead the club, while his all-around development has continued under the guidance of former USMNT star Michael Bradley.

Adri Mehmeti, Red Bull New York, 17
Another Red Bulls teenager has emerged during the club’s youth-driven season in Harrison. His sharp distribution and ability to advance possession have helped produce five assists so far.

Neil Pierre, Philadelphia Union, 18
Standing 6-foot-5, the teenage defender has become an imposing presence at the heart of the Union back line. Since returning in July from a loan spell with a Danish club, he has shown his ability to shut down opponents while also becoming a major threat on set pieces, scoring four times.
Mathis Albert, Borussia Dortmund, 17
Albert has long been involved with the U.S. national team setup and may now be in line for his first senior call-up. His growing reputation as a top prospect at his Bundesliga club has only strengthened his case.
