In a poignant interview just months before her untimely passing, Hayden Panettiere expressed hopeful reflections about the future, saying she believed she still had “a lot more life to live.”
During a heartfelt conversation with podcaster Jay Shetty in May, the star of “Nashville” and “Heroes” shared her determination to embrace life anew, having emerged from a period marked by personal challenges and “darkness.”

“I finally feel like I have shaken off all of this darkness and this negativity,” the 36-year-old actress revealed, her voice filled with newfound optimism.
“I’ve closed one door and another door is opened … I can feel all the exciting possibilities. I feel like I have a lot more life to live,” she added, highlighting a renewed sense of purpose and enthusiasm for what lies ahead.
Panettiere graced the podcast to discuss her memoir, “This Is Me: A Reckoning.” In her book, she candidly chronicles her ongoing struggles with mental health and addiction, offering a raw glimpse into her journey toward healing and personal growth.
But as she discussed her painful past, she said her thoughts were focused on a brighter and happier future, and that she saw “exciting possibilities” ahead for her.
Panettiere suffered from severe postpartum depression after giving birth to her daughter, Kaya, in 2014, and made the difficult decision for the child to primarily live with her father, former heavyweight boxing champ Wladimir Klitschko.
The actress’ father confirmed her death in a statement Sunday.
“It is with profound sadness that we share the tragic passing of our beloved Hayden,” Skip Panettiere said.

“She was an incredible light and a force of nature who brought immeasurable love and joy to all who knew her — and to the millions who watched her onscreen,” the statement continued.
Neither her cause of death, nor the circumstances behind it, were immediately provided.
