Neighbors remembered Katie Suarez, the 28-year-old jogger stabbed in the neck Friday night on a popular Brooklyn waterfront promenade, as a family-oriented woman who worked at a local bank.
Suarez was “very professional, very kind” and had a “very good character,” neighbors told The Post Saturday.
“I mean, nobody is supposed to have [their] life taken, you know, being bad or good, but she was kind of exceptional to me, the way I interact with her,” one neighbor said.
The man said Suarez and her partner were respectful people who regularly walked through the neighborhood. “It’s sad, man, because they’re good neighbors… constantly walking by, you know, they treat people with respect,” he said.
Neighbors said Suarez, who was left brain dead after the attack, worked as a teller at a local bank branch.
“A good teller and good character, you understand? Looks like a very family oriented woman,” another neighbor said.

A local resident who had known Suarez for several years described her as “a very soft spoken girl, very nice,” adding that what happened was “very sad for her.”
“I’m very sad. That’s terrible. I’m sad for everybody,” local resident Anna Dece said.
“But this is close. It’s too much right now. It’s a mad world,” she added.
Police said the runner was stabbed in the neck shortly after 8 p.m. Friday near Bay 17th Street and Shore Parkway in Bath Beach.
According to police sources, Suarez’s father found her on the path after going out to look for her.
She was taken to NYU Langone Hospital in critical condition and was declared brain dead Saturday, police sources said.
